This is the recording of the story mode of this game. Unfortunately the main single player mode, world ninja tournament, is not playable as it is an sandbox adventure game type mode. But enjoy this recording! But I would say Blazblue actually focuses just as much on gameplay as SF does, which is why it's such a technical fighter. And Soul Calibur IV, for all its lack of story, was actually very good... I loved the heck out of that game and still play it. Street Fighter IV is definitely known as the most balanced yet technically easy game to get into, but a pain to master. It isn't as easy to divide games like that into games that focus on story and games that focus on gameplay and mechanics. Games like MK and Injustice have tried to do both, but in the end it's still obvious that the end goal was the presentation and content rather than the fighting engine itself. And Blazblue is expansive, sure, but lots of content to play doesn't mean good content. hahaha. Under Night in-birth is definitely more in the vein of street fighter... in that there are some cutscenes sprinkled around in the arcade mode. But the first and foremo st is definitely the gameplay factor, though personally I think it actually does a good balance of both.Seal, that's cool. I didn't know French Bread were going to port this to PC. This is one of the reasons I go with Sony consoles... because the exclusive fighting games tend to be pretty fun and really good. lol And trust me, in that second gameplay clip I was pretty bad. hahaha. I like what this game appears to be on paper, but without any hands on way to test it, I can't conscionably put money to it. That would be like me buying a piece of sound editting software only to find out that it wasn't accessible, but having no way to know that until it was too late. Actually something that happened with a piece of guitar tech I bought recently. but I digress... I would indeed love to play this game if it's everything that the one or two people promoting it have cracked it up to be. Strange Audible issue
Strange Audible issue Hi.I am having a very odd issue with Audible.I am trying to find a book on Audible in the Skulduggery Pleasant series called Dark Days. When I am not logged into the site, the book appears but I can't purchase it because I'm not logged in. When I log into the Amazon account htat is also my Audible account, the search turns up nothing. I tried copying the URL from the book page I got before logging in into the site when I logged my account in. Unfortunately, the page loads, but I don't have an option to add it to my cart or wishlist. What's going on here? Why is the book showing up when I'm not logged in, but it disappears when I log into the Amazon/audible account? Is this an issue with my account or the website? THis is very, very weird.On another note, all the books past book 3 of the series don't appear if I log in, but they show up just fine if I'm not logged in.Any thoughts/advice? I may consider contacting Audibl e, but I want to make sure it's not an issue or setting in my account somewhere.Oh, could it also be Safari acting weird with Audible? However, part of what makes those games interesting is the willingness of the developers to try something new. From what I've heard from different people, this game as an interesting system, a combination sidescroller fps seems really interesting to me. As to the issue of it being payed, it really doesn't matter much to me. I agree that there should be a demo, some sort of offline play, and also maybe some changes to make the thing more balanced. If that happens though, then I'll probably buy it. Re: blindness unimployment rates @Cae, thanks for that one, it worked. @Blindlord, while I take the point that you are seriously engaging with this topic and are passionate about it, I'm afraid your writing and style needs considerable improvement. Firstly, a spell checker wouldn't be a bad thing, but more than that you need to focus very much on the points your making, whom you are addressing, and what the ultimate structure of your arguement is to be at all convincing. You throw in many statements about self driving cars, about blind people getting dressed in the morning, about the supposed beliefs of others, people walking into you etc, and all of this just basically comes across as a directionless rant. To take one example, you say that a blind person goes for an interview and tells the boss that they need a screen reader costing 1000 usd to perform the same job. why however should the boss provide this? A simple answer is, "well if I can hier a sighted person without! paying for such equipment, why should I hier a blind person?" You do not address this question at all. Should the government provide the technology for the sake of giving blind people the same opportunities sighted people do? or is there a question of direct discrimination? or does the blind person have a right! to expect the same treatment? and what does the attitude you mention have to do with this treatment? I am not going to give you answers, but I suggest that if you want to write anything at all convincing on blindness and employment you need to think about the answers, have a clearer idea of how you write and argue, and not just wrant away with a million ideas that do not convince. My appologies if this sounds harsh, bare in mind I spend most of my time at university writing carefully on these sorts of matters, so it is likely my standards are considerably higher than the averagee English class. Even for secondary school though, you really should be practicing a little clarity of thought and structure in your reasoning, especially because as you said yourself this is an important topic that will affect your life and those of other blind people in the future. Re: MAINSTREAM GAMES - list of accessible video games - update 27/01/14 Hello,Here are my thoughts on fighters at least the ones I can think of so far, and I like them all.From what I can see, it looks like the fighters with gameplay focus seem to be:street fighter iv and varients, all of them containing balance tweeks: I've yet to beat this game in arcade mode, but from what I've played it's definitely rather nice, tricky to get used to though, I haven't performed an ultra even after all this time. I also like the soundtrack. Ken's theme is great along with Riu's and chung ly'sSkullgirls, I'll come back to this later too. Gameplay seems to be different for every character, and this is the first game where I've really noticed the playstyle variety that fighting game characters can have. Also, the soundtrack is interesting, quite jazzy and such.Marvel Vs Capcom series: I found this rather hard, but it was also quite flashy. The music is also quite catchy. It gets very confusing when a lot of characters appear on screen, but it's very satisfying when you do a hyper with all three of your team at once and it knocks the socks out of the opponent.And, fighters with story content that is accessible seem to be:Mortal Kombat vs dc universe, onwards: a ha, seriously this was just epic. What more is there to say? It's like a movie.Blazblue series: absolutely huge, nothing more to say. The story in this is fleshed out, and to some, they say it's too fleshed out. To me, it's more content to play.Injustice: Gods Among Us: I liked this story but I was hoping for a better ending. Thank goodness the QTE's aren't too important. OK, you might lose health if you lose but at least you don't lose the hole scene.Street Fighter iv to a lesser extent, although I've yet to actually beat an arcade mode so I don't know how varied the stories are, in terms of whether cutscenes repeat or notSoulcal ibur v: I'm not even going to mention soulcalibur iv, because that one was rubbish. The fifth installment though, now, I actually enjoyed that a lot. Very cinematic, anime/movie to me, the voice acting was OK. The music is also good, but not as good as the ps2 soul calibur soundtracks, soulcalibur 2 and 3. I just wish they would have gon with their original plan, because we would have had an even longer story mode that would have focused on more characters.Dragonball Z: Burst Limit: seems a bit of a mashup, but I enjoyed the three arcs. Although, I really wished they'd done justice to the over nine thousand scene, but the guy just said, over nine thousand! without drawing it out or anything. Where's the over nine thousnd, it didn't have to be too long, but come on, a tribute would have been nice.Dragonball: Raging blast, I think one and two have story but I'm not too sure. I've yet to actually play this. It might, unfortunately, be too l ate. This generation is... ending, my collection seems quite complete. The shelf's full. And, Skullgirls (story mode only accessible on PC version): That one is quite unique, because when you get a dlc, they really change things. Not only do they have gameplay that's distinctly different, but, and I say this without going into too much detail here, each dlc's story mode actually stands out from the rest. They're short stories but they are worth it.Honorable throwback for story-based game: Urban Reign. That one was quite enjoyable for what it is. It's a ps2 game, with voiced missions and such. The missions are in a menu. The story isn't the best in the world but it's quite nice, especially when you get partway througha nd there's quite a big cutscene that plays, and the last few missions change up the narrative a bit.There are a few that I've missed, I can't comment on undernight in birth, I don't know if that 039;s gameplay or story based. So, does anyone else have thoughts on fighting games? Am I missing out because I don't have raging blast, should I perhaps pick it up? This is more apparent with the minnygun and the m79 when fired into huge swourms. I have also asked a few people and they have stated that they have noticed the same thing as well. It'd really help if we could make sharper turns, especially when we're being chased at high speeds and a wider turn radius means the zombies can catch up if we hit a wall and have to backtrack.Loving the new maps and trading system, as well as the raiders. We should be working to fix the training system's inability to teach basic computer concepts because of the overly narrow focus on knowing specific tasks that make you employment-ready for working in a call center, not making up for them by making more commercial "this makes your computer simple so you don't have to learn" software. As an advanced user there is no point; that's not about features, either. As an advanced user, anything you're doing for me can already be done by me and just as quickly-so why am I buying software? All that claiming that it's good for advanced users does is convince people that they can become advanced users using it, something which I have no reason whatsoever to believe is the case-among other problems, using such systems just locks you down to your specific machine.As for baking services into the screen reader, that is the worst idea I have ever seen anywhere. This is not a good thing. If those services are not accessible enough or easy enough to access with that screen reader, they should be fixed properly; at most, there should be a reader-neutral application. The world is already really tiny for us. We don't want or need to start cutting it into little islands of functionality, and we don't want or need to give the impression to sighted devs (already notoriously incapable of getting it even when explained and even when they mean well) that writing a blind-specific version or getting the screen reader to integrate is a good idea. Yes, unfortunately the battle of the five armies will likely be horribly excessive, but at least it's one better than helms deep which somehow managed to be a more major battle than the battle of the pelenor fields despite taking only ten pages in the book and featuring Saruman's comparatively small host of orcs (small compared to Sauron's army anyway). To answer Aaron's previous question the five armies are the woodelves, lake men, dwarves of the iron hills, goblins, and then Thorin's dwarves, beorn and the eagles, so it's more sort of battle of the four armies plus random hangers on than actually a battle of five armies :d.In fairness by rights that should be a pretty major battle, although I'm still dreading how Jackson is going to tie the Sauron plot into the rest of the film. Back at the start of the hobbit I was wondering if Jackson would do something stupid like have Sauro n appear at the battle of five armies riding smaug, or have the orcs lead by the Nazgul or something similarly loopy. I didn't see that as likely after unexpectedly good first film, but after the desolation's plots that verge on unnatural selection, who knows! I should get the extended edition of desolation for christmas, though for once in the Jackson films it feels more like a duty to get it to complete my set than a pleasure, particularly sinse unlike with even Two towers, I'm not sure how much was missed. But just because the development method is different does not mean that indie developers cannot learn from console companies and try and replicate the same style of development planning on a smaller scale.This is, again, the problem without having a playable demo. Audio trailers can only show you so much... I wouldn't've known it was a side scroller if you hadn't told me that. And I didn't mean the reaction speed thing as a criticism, just a point that every single bloody audio attempt at an fps has been no more than that, seeing who can pull the trigger the fastest and waste the most ammo. PC shooters, indie or big budget like counter strike, even old school arcade scrolling shooters like metal slug had some sort of aiming in place... and a way to aim more precisely than just turning in the direction and firing. Multiplayer pvp games should always have some sort of strategy to them, otherwise as Cruff said it'll get boring quickly. I'm not dead set against this game, I'm still quite willing to try it... it's more a case of me not being used to having a demo... since 99% of games I buy have given me at least some sort of trial run, and I don't see why Mason is not doing that with this game if he's asking people to pay. For the spectics, you can always Download A Demo to try, and if you do wish to Purchase It , its around $155 for the US folks. That $155 by the way, is for the "Advanced" version, which does "not!" have "LEASEY's" voice herself. Another thing to keep in mind with LEASEY Advanced, is you are able to "leave" the leasey interface at "anytime," by doing your "normal" Windows commands. Keyboard commands can be changed via the "LEASEY Manager." Still not convinced? Audio Demonstrations can be found via the link among this sentence.I know folks in the UK a re quite wondering why LEASEY's around now since ya have Dolpin Guide already. For the spectics, you can always Download A Demo to try, and if you do wish to Purchase It , its around $155 for the US folks. That $155 by the way, is for the "Advanced" version, which does "not!" have "LEASEY's" voice herself. Another thing to keep in mind with LEASEY Advanced, is you are able to "leave" the leasey interface at "anytime," by doing your "normal" Windows commands. Keyboard commands can be changed via the "LEASEY Manager." Still not convinced? I think what Cruff meant was that the sounds and audio keep changing... why not keep the same sounds all the way through out and decide on a foundation set of sounds and leave it there? Console games usually don't change sounds anymore outside of beta builds... when Street Fighter x Tekken came out, the first two showings had sounds straight from SFIV. The next time the game was shown a few months later, the sounds changed once and then they've stayed there ever since. As for the game being worth 25$, maybe eventually, but right now, judging from the demos... it doesn't sound like it's worth that much since it's still nothing more than a contest to see who can pull the trigger the fastest. Aiming seems to just be turning in the right direction, which is something all other pvp fps audio games have done. Audio fps games need something to change... whether it's more precise aiming or the possibility of aiming at different angles. There's also the Elemancy University which teaches more traditional mage abilities like control over air, water, fire and earth but requires a 5,000 riln fee to join, it can be found on the roads southeast of Mistral or northeast of Shadgarde. There are also other guilds which practice some amount of magic to varying degrees - Udemi can use druidry, Utasa get wave bending and so on.That said I like cryomancy because it also gives you a freezing aura when you channel it, meaning whenever you try to attack an enemy or they try to attack you there's a chance they'll suffer a penalty from being chilled and when you hit them with a melee attack there's a chance you'll do some cold damage, combined with the fact that whatever form of cold damage you do it seems to drain an opp onent's energy quite effectively leaving them more tired than they normally would be and potentially vulnerable. Rooks work well in conjunction with weapons, whereas with an Elemancer you're reliant on your magic as your weapon more but they do get some quite powerful abilities. The only fighting games that have characters worth caring about are those with expansive story lines.. and SF has never been about that. Not trying to impose my opinion here, just being objective. SFIV is actually a fine starting point to get into the series... if you think there's no reason to care about anyone, you should play SF 2 or 3. Those were even more bare bones... and there was basically no story. Character selection is something that's workable, either through VS. Mode is exploration. There's a topic buried somewhere on this forum that has the character selection for Ultra SF IV which is the version that anyone who wants to get into the game at this point should be playing. The problem with the "let's forget entirely about the book and think of the film entirely as the creation of Peter Jackson" attitude is that for Tolkien it just doesn't work. Tolkien did not write fantasy, indeed fantasy literature as we would understand it didn't really exist prior to Tolkien. He said himself he wrote history, just history that happened to be of a world of his own devising, told in a language that he himself created. Thus, the problem with changes to any of the Lotr books plot is that your dealing with changes to a full historical narative, and changes which if they aren't undertaken carefuly, can have huge and inconsistant effects on the over all world and story. I've already discussed in another topic the Faramir problem in the Two towers film, as well as various other issues. Generally, I loved the firsthobbit film, unexpected journey. no, any film cannot do full justice to a book, but Unexpected Journey stayed remarkably consistant to the source material (apart from Azog), but also captured a lot of the smaller, and more fun details, the commical trolls, the entire riddle game, Iindeed all in all it is possibly my favourite of the Peter Jackson films sinse it spent so much time establishing plot and characters, and while it had it's fare share of action, there was never a sense of style over substance. Sadly everything went down hill in the second hobbit film, desolation of smoug. An unknown dwarf love triangle which is just wrong, several important elements like mirkwood being sidelined, and generally a cheerless film, indeed I agree with Camlorn that it was more a game trailer, very sad, sinse I'd have much rather had a well acted, riddling conversation between Bilbo and smoug as in the book and as in the style of the first film rather than a protracted action sequence. oh, and killing a dragon with melted gold? come on! What are dragons famous for? breathing fire and sitting on large heeps of treasure, so melted gold is obviously going to be very effective at dealing with them! Really, it's like trying to freeze a snowman!I was also amazed at this ending given that the hobbit already has a very natural place the second film could've stopped, namely when Smoug, furious at the dwarves attacks their camp smashing the secret side door of the mountain and forcing them to climb for their lives. This would've made a great action sequence, and also ending with the destroyed and crumbled side of the mountain and the victorious Smoug flying off to lake town would've been a great cliff hanger and made far more sense than trying to kill a dragon with melted gold! (sorry, but the shear ridiculousness of that one just goes beyond me!). After the Two towers, I was severely annoyed, but a fter desolation I just sit back and think, - wha? Methinks Mr. Jackson has been a little heavy on the pipe weed if he thought that was a good idea, and the less said about the love triangle the better.So yes, I'll go and see the film, but I can't say I'm expecting much, indeed let me think, first film really good and faithful to the book with many nods to Tolkien's style and intent, second film a bloated mess of action with plots entirely off the rails, perhaps Jackson will recoop some ground in the third film, h, where have I heard that one before? The reason why I wouldn't recommend this for instructional purpose is that if you're so used to leasy's custom hotkeys for doing stuff and do not try to learn the actual keystrokes for commands, you'd be left floundering when using someone else's computer, or an employer's computer without leasy installed. It is a crutch that may be helpful to the very beginner, but beyond that, I see little value for anyone else. In my opinion, the reason why I wouldn't recommend this for instructional purpose is that if you're so used to leasy's custom hotkeys for doing stuff and do not try to learn the actual keystrokes for commands, you'd be left floundering when using someone else's computer, or an employer's computer without leasy installed. It is a crutch that may be helpful to the very beginner, but beyond that, there's little value for anyone else. Light, medium, and heavy for each... correct timing and sequences of these can produce combos for each character. SF x T is a tag-based game, which means that you'll be playing with a team of two. Special moves and super moves are performed by joystick movements or DPad or arrow presses depending on what you're playing on. I don't know the keys for the pc version, though. No Turtlepower, as far as I know there aren't any centers that run months long courses living together the way the nfb do, the longest course might be a week and would usually be run from another building such as an outdoor activity center. Likewise, there isn't a devide between "state run" and "charity or organization" because things in Britain just work differently. In Britain the government palms a lot of it's services off to charity organizations which are effectively businesses that recieve tax exemption status and charitable donations. The most prominant of these is the Rnib, but others exist such as Guide dogs (who provide other things than Guide dogs), Action for blind people, and every county locally has it's own society for the blind. What gets provided and how good each person is depends largely on where in the country you are, and whom you apply to, and usually involves individual lessons with one person, or at most classe s run from a centralized location with several people.Philosophy wise, as I said the Rnib in general do have a less than good attitude, especially surrounding institutionalisation and age, which is one reason it's often a little bad for newly blind people to get referd to them, even this varies according to department and individual however.
