Well, when you get back to your base, just check their stats. Also, the people who were locked behind steel doors are going to have higher stats than those who are behind the wooden doors.I also think that you get people who are based on your level. For example, I broke somebody out of prison who was at level 24 when I was at level 21. So it actually does pay, as much of a pain as it is, to go in and rescue people when you're at a higher level.

I just tested it on Alteraeon for a few minutes.The first time I tried to connect it crashed, second time I was able to connect just fine.I like the simplicity of the client.While mush client is great, if you know what you're doing, I don't like having to fiddle about with plugins, just to get speech.now with this thing, I might just explore other muds.If only I didn't have to memorise connection info all the time.It's OK for muds that actually have a URL, but for those needing an IP, you better be good at memorising long numbers, or keep a text file around, at least until you're able to save connections.

Hi, There are various programs you can use. SoundTap is probably the easiest one; it records in various formats and records both your computer audio and mic pretty well. You can use the demo for two weeks, in which, if I recall correctly, you can do everything you can do in the full version. Then, there is a free program called "open broadcaster software". It actually records in video formats, and is meant to record video along with the audio. Yet it does capture audio from your soundcard and mic. I've been using this recently to record some of my own walk-throughs, which I uploaded to youtube. However, if you simply want the audio, I'm sure you can find a program that can convert from mp4 to mp3. Hope this helps.

Best way of recording from both a sound card and microphone?

Hi all,So, I realize this is probably a very stupid question. So I apologize in advance.Say I want to record content from both my microphone and sound card in real time. I don't have a mixer, and don't particularly want to buy one. What's the best way to do this?I realize that I can record the tracks separately, but that just seems utterly unnecessary. I ask this because I want to record a walkthrough for Psycho Strike. And although I could easily get something like virtual audio cable, everything I've heard about it is overwhelming me. I don't really understand it, which probably means that I have no business recording something like this in the first place, but I do want to give it a try.Should I just use two separate programs, for example, record the game from my sound card using Gold Wave, while simultaneously recording my voice with, I don't know, Windows sound recorder, then mix the two tracks in Gold Wave? It seems to me
  there would be latency issues when doing this, so I really don't know how well it would work.Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi guys,this is not a dramatic rant, so please don't mistake it for one--if you could see my face, I'm calm, and I'm just chilling while I write this, not throwing things around and screaming. lol  But anyways, I've remembered why I don't do missions. I had a whole lot of gear, all high armor, a riot shield, and even a perfect way to do missions that was working like it should! However, because of the 20 or so coordinate wide mass of crates in the middle of the sorting floor, I was unable to complete the mission. Perhaps this is an error on my part, but I don't know how long it will be until I'm back on swamp again because I worked for ever and ever to get that equipment and to lose it all in a 20 second smack down? . That is why I rarely if at all do missions.

Well regarding pcs, according to the reply I got from Phil he's had site hosting shenanigans which is why things like the sarah page and the download links for the sarah demo and packman talks aren't working, I asked him to let me know when things are back in order so I can check the db. @Trenton,  if you mean the gamelistsI'm not sure what phil does as regards keeping track of no longer available games, though I know he does add more links to the list and update some of the site descriptions with new games.As to Gma, well I do recall David greenwood last year saying that new versions of Gma Tank commander, Vipmud and lone wolf were in the works, though as is usual with Gma we won't hear anything until they're done. However Gma is one of those companies you can  always be sure will be working away on new releases in the background, and will come up with something eventually even if it has been a couple of years sinse their last updat

And just as a distinction, BGT is not an engine in the same way unity or unreal or quake 3 is, it's more of a scripting language. There really haven't been any audiogame engines to my knowledge, although there was an environment for you to build in but it was very restrictive and I cannot recall the name.

Neither can I. MUSHclient just is unbeatable in features and capabilities. Danny, if you do ever implement sound support, I hope it's the interpretation of an actual programming language, as that adds much more flexibility to your client, and will attract me to it (if it is good enough, although considering our feud, maybe not). I'm sticking with MUSHclient, since I like it and it suits me perfectly.

The reason I don't recommend BGT is because it uses braces, and when you have an extremely complicated algorithm, and it has lots of if's and for's, it really can get extremely difficult to track exactly what if or for your in. That's why I suggest a BASIc language: You can track the if's and for's your in, and development will be extremely easy.

Another suggestion is Pure Basic, though that language is not specifically meant for the blind. It does, however, allow for some very advanced things, such as graphics, audio, accessible GUI creation, etc. I do recommend BGT for starters though, as that is the language I first learned, and caught on quite quickly.

If that is not working for you, then you may try the other suggestions Bryan talks about. He says that the USB support was stable, but I have never had good experiences with it. It may work for some people, and it may not for oters. If you do use his suggestion, this will bring the lag down to a bearable state. If you need help with applying this, then either write back here or PM me. PM might take longer as I do not check them often.

While this is logical, you must keep in mind that there may also be instruments in this channel as well. Also, keep in mind that some songs place harmonies elsewhere in the stereo field, leaving a reduced lead vocal but leaving the harmonies with the instrumental. The only efficient way of removing a vocal or an instrumental is, to find the original vocal/instrumental, and invert that with the original track. In Goldwave, to do this, first you must click invert in the effects menuu on either track. You must not do both tracks. Next, copy the first track. Then, go to the other track, press control+m, and then line the two up by adjusting the mix time in the edit box. Eventually, once you get it right, the vocal/instrumental will cancel itself out of the track. Note, this may leave artifacts, and it sometimes is impossible to entirely align th

Hi Ambro,USB in VMWare Fusion is quite iffy. I tried it and while audio did work, it broke up massively. My suggestion to you is, visit bryansmart.com and go to the reducing lag in vmware heading, and theck out what he suggests there.

Hi guys, I want to ask you an information. I've an Imac and vmware fusion with Windows 8.1. I've bought an audio usb called Inline from Amazon, that works very well connected in a normal Windows pc. But when I connect it to a virtual machine the audio doesn't work. What can I do to use it with vmware? I want to use the audio usb only for the virtualized Windows, because in this way I can reduce the lag of the audio.When I connect the audio usb in the control panel playback, the audio is listed and tells ready. But I can't hear nothing, also connecting headphones in the audio usb jack.Thanks,Ambro

the problem with prefight orders though is that you can't control them later if you change your mind, most if not all mainstream games with AI partners you can control allow you to give orders mid battle, usually with either one button per order or a menu that pauses the gamealso, why should I have to use up my medkits just to cut down on wait time if I'm already running relatively low?

Great job with the walkthru and a thumbs up from me. While I agree with slj the volume isn't ideal,I didn't find it too bad on my headphones. I've been wanting to check out survive the wild, partly for interest but also because it will need a database page as well, so thanks for a very well explained intro. Btw, I hope you are going to keep the walkthru on dropbox perminantly sinse I would like to put a link on the db entry when it is done as that way new players will find it more easily.

One thing i didn't like about their 2014.1 is that speakup wasn't available for the console, I hope this is fixed for the 2015.1 because i use both the GUI and the console, switching between them is mad easy.

Maybe its just a matter of opinion, but I'd rather see the IP and Port on one dialog box with 2 edit fields with a tab to switch between. I don't like when things step through like that slowing me down. It crashed when i mistyped the info to one of the muds i play.I just checked it out, I can't be bothered to switch off MUSHclient since i've used it for the longest. But cool, hope it goes good for you.

I use an xbox 360 controller which has a cable with a USB connector on it. The full name is xbox 360 controller for windows, it was like #20 bucks for a refurb one i think. There are others, but i really don't know.

@Nina, the reason iceblast was most damaging in Entombed 1 was more to do with how it was launched. All the power went into one powerful blow, where as firebolt hit a number of medium strength blows at the opponent. try a fairy mage and you'll see how devastating firebolt could get. They did in fact do different sort of elemental damage, but sinse there were so few enemies in Entombed 1 with elemental weaknesses or affinities you rarely got to see this accept with actual elementals as opponents.Also remember however that Entombed1, not only the intelligence of the caster made a difference, but also the hardness of the enemy's skin, and at lower levels that could get quite ridiculous, one reason why even powerful fighters couldn't usually guarantee much damage even with tough weaponry unless they had the crytical hits skill, and why your wolf and ranged weapons became utterly pointless. This is one thing that is very much going to get tweaked in Entombed 1.About Entombed 2 though, Jason has already said earlier in this topic different damage types will be in the game, and armour,  and likelly enemy creatures that resist different damage types, maybe even some that are weak to different damage types (remember that old D&D thing about skeletons being weak to bludgioning weapons but not that bothered by edged or piercing ones). Again, something I'd very much like to see and just more tactical options to play with. Imagine for example you've been going along having your super fighter with their big pointy sword slice their way through everything, well it'd be quite different to encounter say a spector or a shade that wasn't damaged by physical weapons, sinse then your mage would get to way in, and of course being able to freeze a firy dragon or bring down a sylph with some earthy magic justice is always awsome!

There is a bible  trivia file with Jim Kitchin's game but I believe that is quite short, similarly though This page on if wiki lists various religious themed interactive fiction games, I'm not sure how many actually touch upon the Bible seriously or are even any good sinse the only one I have played, jarrod's journey was pretty dire,  as one review said, the game reads more like a long lecture from ned flanders of the simpsons than anything seriously connected with knolidge of the bible and christianity.I'm actually amazed there isn't more out there,indeed I'm surprised a site like www.freerice.com doesn't have a bible verses category, (especially with what freerice is actually for).

dingo, I am curious, will enemies be weak to certain spells?  In entombed every thing seemed to fall, or at least take a lot of damage from ice blast.  While fire bolt even at level 5, and casted by a powerful mage class did little damage at all.

Haha, yes dark. I won't be leaving those messages in, they were original alert boxes and then I was lazy and just took out a symbol and turned it into a tts message, and with my screen reader cords sounds the same as cords. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it!  The aim is for a more modern day oceanic war game. The boats that you'd be piloting you can imagine as small two or three person patrol boats that have mounted 50 cals or other similar weaponry.

Hi. Look okay thus far, though when you said boat simulation I was rather hoping for something piratical with a sailing ship and a crew . Either way everything seems to be working as it should,   and I'll be interested to see how you handle stuff to shoot or land on or pickup when you add to the game, though I do have a few points. first, the messages from sapi saying "ahoy your degrees are" or "hello your speed is" were rather long winded for my taste and a tad annoying when just wanting to check a number, particularly when I've sat through "hello your speed is" odds are I've probably already sped up .So, while I love the idea of making the messages in the game a bit nortical, for essential
  info like speed and direction I'd suggest just leaving it to the numbers. lastly, I could be incorrect, but last I checked "cords" were what you played on a piano or an organ or a fancy name for bits of rope, and wasn't a short form of saying coordinates. I've heard the word coords (two o's), used occasionally, but not cords. So either  this is a use I've not heard of or there is an error in the wording, which is why I thought I'd mention it.

I will second the suggestion for orders, though I'd be all right if the orders were pre-mission, and included a bail out level at which they flee, Ordering in the midst of the chaos might actually be harder.As for the regeneration rate, this forces some choices on you.  Remember that medkits are available so if someone is taking too long, use one.  Also, you can choose a larger gang size so that while three are healing, three others can be out causing pain in the world.

Crimson Current is going to be the first boat warfair game in the audio genre. It is set to be released whenever I feel like it, so don't ask!I just started working on this yesterday, and it isn't much. I just wanted to give you guys a taste of what's to come. Currently Crimson Currents has the ability to accelerate, decelerate, turn in a 360 degree motion, and fire your weapon, though there isn't anything to shoot at yet.There's no readme because there's only 9 controls.Up arrow accelerate.Down arrow decelerate.left and right arrows change your direction.Spacebar, fires your weapon.S, check speed.D, check direction, in degrees.x, check cords.Let me know what you guys think, and what kinds of features you'd like to see based on this concept demo.Some answers to questions I can already see coming.Is CC going to be a multiplayer online game, or single player.

AudioGames.net fixes and updates

As you might have noticed, the PHP system behind AudioGames.net has been spitting out some crazy warnings and notices here and there. Furthermore, the game database neglected to show any information about your precious audio games. What happened? Our server was  upgraded to PHP 5.4 which required some unforeseen updates to the AudioGames.net system. Bit by bit, everything is reinstalled and the game pages should work again. The drop down list of the games at the bottom of the pages (Quick Links) does not work yet for some reason, and Sander/Sendermen is doing his best to find the line of code that omits some technical command we're not going to bore you with. So instead of hitting the Go!-button and obtaining empty pages, you can access the games via the game list: http://audiogames.net/list-games/ or via the game search page: http://www.audiogames.net/search-games/Should you find anything odd, weird, scary, crazy, gobsmacking or just annoying, please let us know and we'll try to fix it. By the way, Dark and I renamed some of the pages that used to be named 'archive'. We're not even sure why all games are stored in an archive instead of a game database, so as of today, these archives Are now 'games'. 'Search archive' has been renamed to 'search games' in the main menu.

For games, best to look on ios... since those are the only bible trivia games that I know about, but I haven't personally played any of them. As for the other resources, best keep that in the off topic room. But reading the Bible over is never a bad idea... biblegateway.com is the go to for everything related, and it's also helpful to find other versions that have footnotes or things of that sort.

Hi,I would like to warn all who read this topic that Orca is going through some rather... maddening problems. First, it glitches, which is extremely annoying. Second, it can't use everything, which is understandable. However, do not send bugs to the orca team as the people who develop orca are idiots and do not listen to bug reports (their lazy ass holes). Just stick with the command line version.

Truecraig, I see that you're giving the player a negative number of supply crates after they turn them in.  That seems like the right way to do it, so my guess is that somewhere in that code is where the problem is.  When you give negative amounts of an item, it won't go below zero so you can skip trying to use a variable.  You could do this instead to see if this solves the problem:if cratesHeld>0 then give item -999 -Supply crate

Would Aprone still check this thread? I've got a pretty bad bug effecting me in newer versions. Well, in case he does swing by, I'll post it anyway. In my warehouse missions in my Black October campaign, I've noticed a recent bug when you drop off crates. On the first drop off, all goes fine. You drop off, and then you have no crates in your possession. After the first lot of crates are dropped off, when you drop off, the crates still remain in your inventory.
