(PSA: I still have no idea why Swamp maps made with the map editor started glitching after Swamp 3.1. I'll fix it if I figure out how. Also, Since lots of details about leveling, armor, etc changed wildly in every version since 2.8, this gives the more complex campaigns a moving target--I had one that started out dropping Hockey masks, then I changed it to include ball caps and winter coats and tattered vests, and now I'm just keeping multiple versions of everything, which will doubtless make things fun if I ever manage to get a hold of a good site for organizing campaigns. If not for the Ranger I'd consider making the custom bosses in Fyquest bulletproof.)I should probably add that, when I say this stuff is harder than it sounds, this is because I've been trying to do it for ~15 years at this point. The only example that sounds vaguely promising that isn't from the past two years died long ago for being based in IE6, so I can't really provide 
 recordings (Unless I made some that I forgot about... don't think I did.).And, well, none of those I can provide in-progress recordings of are going so well, either. Here's one that wound up using voxel stacks when I wanted way more precision; here's one that I deliberately coded horribly to try and push it farther. I'm not expecting to finish either of them any time soon. (When I first tried making something like the first example, it was 2004 and I was expecting I could have something closer to what I was imagining by 2010! By 2010, what I had was DBGU and the beginnings of Mario. I was kinda stupid and arrogant before 2008. Not that I am neither of those things now, but gah were they especially horrible then.)Sometimes, a loan hero can rise above the challenges and take the world by storm. Most of the time, it takes the Avengers and the Justice 
 League, rather than Spider-man and Superman.We need a hero, I'd rather not stand here an wait, but that's the American Way.

Btw i fixed the bug you pointed out for some reason the skill toxic shot was missing from the skill database so i rebuilt it and added it. There will be an update coming out to testflight tonight. It wont fix your copy but it does fix the live copy of the game. I also fixed a bug where pets were getting credit for player kills in the players stats. It should be working good now.

So it is on the earth Corps in floor 35? Anyways, I think that I found a bug. When you die in the infinite arena, for example you have 20,000 experience. When you die, your experience goes down to about 19,000.   I mean, even if you died, your experience shouldn't go down.

The Wells Fargo bank here in the US has braille debit cards. All the info on my card is brailled. Before I had one of these, I wrote my info down and committed it to memory. Yes, when buying online, you need the whole card number, expiration date, and the security code.As for cash, all our bills in the US are the same size. I never could get into the habit of folding them. I rarely use cash at all, and when I do, I rely on the iPhone Money Reader app from Looktell. That won't help you much though, Aaron. Here at least, when you run your card at the store, you can hit the credit button instead of debit. You don't have to enter in your pin this way. Handy, as most of our card machines are touch screen. I'm using my regular old bank debit card here. You just have the option of running it either way. I have no idea what running it as credit really means.I'm not understanding the butter on your bread for sandwiches. the only time we do that is for grilled cheese to fry the bread. I can butter bread just fine, but I'm lazy. I usually just hack off a small sliver of butter from the stick and toss it in the pan. Once at the start, and then I'll put another sliver on the top of the sandwich before I flip it.I think a slow cooker is a great place to start with making your own food.

I can't recall where the fiend is, just know somewhere in the Core.When fighting the Creator make sure to use the strongest skill you have to avoid hitting his damage shield more than necessary. Boots of speed, a bottle of stamina and a pet to confuse also helps.

You need thousands of dolls I think, and then you'll notice something different about one of the first 5 stages. It's up a tree. The kicker shoes you need a medal from the highest difficulty, and a pair of high jump shoes. So they're for kicking, er, crystals? There are also several places in the game where the highest level needle launchers will lock up the game. Everything stops except the music. Also, in the surveillance stages, you get random crashes. Not sure how to reproduce this, as they are random. The bug  with the needle launchers is something I can reproduce every time, in 6-4 for one. I think in 7-1 and 7-2 it does it as well.

Because of the missing files the installer can't start, i come to the install button and than the error shows up. Would be great if there's a work around for windows 7. I know that this games are old but I like them for what they are and some of them had a few nice mechanics and gameplay ideas.

Oh, the sound chip on this thing is nice! I'd deffinatly take that over the ay-3-8910 chip, or the beeper used for sound effects on the bns. eloquence did not exist when the sb16 came out. it was, however, included on a bonus disk included with some SB live! cards (ca 1999-2000), along with proty parrot and the later version of text assist (different from the sb16 version)

I think you should also remove some of the smaller beatcoin amounts from the deal or no deal game. As it stands, your chance of getting a case with a good amount of beatcoins or safeguards is so little that the best strategy is to keep randomly picking cases until the bank offers you 25 or 3 beatcoins, then just go with that, because you probably picked out one of the really crappy cases like 50 beatcoins.

LOL. I have heard that they are working on a new one, but still. your overall point is correct. At least the missals go where I want them to go. I get having to choose your target to go after, but why not have some kind of basic automated defense system in place where your ship raises the shields and returns fire. I get be able to teleport from one place to another and the ship to ship teleportation. Right, only the basics are there. Right now, I really don't see any reason to have a carrier with all the weapons and repair systems in the CR. The more I think about it, I don't even need a carrier. I could most likely get away with a custom built fighter and be just fine. Maybe the similarities is the problem with this one. I have heard that a lot of changes are being made. So, who knows how close it will  be. My problem with most space moos that I played is that fact that they are all mostly a like.

Ah, so it was a dial setting. Now, how about the kicker shoes? What do they do? No, really, what do they do? They can't kick enemies, only items. The description says so. But what kind of items? Where? Weapons? Collection items? Strategy items? Doors? Walls? Trees? Ladders? No! They don't kick anything. At least, they don't kick anything that I've found so far.

Hi Orin,I just downloaded and tried Locale Emulator on Alternative Magic and GroundWar1.It seems to work just as well as AppLocale.I'm not surprised that things don't translate correctly when you are not using it.I think most of the issues you mentioned were when you were not using it.You said that when you do use it you have to hold down the enter and escape keys.Do you really have to hold the enter key for multiple seconds to get it to move to the next dialog?I have to hold it for maybe a quarter of a second, but certainly not a full second or more.And that is an issue related to text game maker.I've heard the delay can be changed in gameÝ’è.ini, but haven't tried it myself yet.I did also notice that GroundWar1 puts its story dialog on the first line of the edit box, unlike Alternative Magic which puts the text on the second.Which means NVDA will attempt to read the Japanese text every time you press enter to hear new story.And then the English is announced afterward, which I think is one of the things you were describing.There's not much I can do for this.But you can press NVDA+C to interrupt the Japanese text and read the English text from the clipboard.So you'd press enter then NVDA + C as you go through story.Of course, when using Locale Emulator your English voice will just not read most of the Japanese text anyway, just numbers and the bits that were in English, followed by the translated text.I made a little demo so you can see how it works for me.Hope that helps.

@cw,You know, I just might, save for the fact that I don't play prom anymore and haven't since, um, I don't remember when anymore.  There again I got tired of the similarities in space moos and such.  I'd like something different, something revolutionary, something that, if one is actually going to look at developing a futuristic world, the world should feel, um, futuristic, not primative.  I mean, what's up with still typing out long commands to pull off complex actions in 2100 or after, when here in 2016 we're looking into autonomy for different purposes?  Why, for the life of me, are certain defenses in ships not automated?I'm not asking for my ships to do all the fighting for me, but why the blazes aren't defensive systems put up as soon as a ship gets hit?  Why am I still having to operate almost useless conventional weapons like lasers which only have a short distance range and a lack of power comp
 ared to things like torpedos and heat seeking weaponry?  why don't laser turrets swivel and fire on their own when presented with a chalenge?  Who, with any ounce of logic in the real world is going to fly around in a ship that is practically defenseless, trying to do even the simplest of things, when there are fleets of alien raiders and intergalactic threats as well as pirates out to get you?  Fine!  I'll accept that you can't have it all in the beginning, that you have to work your way up to the top, that you need to put in some patient and diligent work to accomplish something, anything in lfe, but good grief, the future!  Forget your friggin startrek starwars visions and shoot for the horizons, space junkies!  Stop living in the past!  lol

defender. By SCW, I am asuming that you mean Sarah and the Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I thought that windows seven and that version of the GMA game engine didn't work right with sound, but my windows seven machine does have 16 gb of ram and a SSD. I will have to go check out paladin of thesky. Right now, my biggest problem with AA is all the grinding that I have to do to get to the main land. I guess I will have to go log into swamp again to see who all is there. Have you heard the saying, "never judge a book by its cover"? At first look, the titles of some of the games may had not been a major draw in if you get my drift. Nocturnus. Would you accept $100 in Prometheus credits? LOL. You did get me to chuckle a bit. defender. I thought that Entombed wasn't being worked on any more. I also thought that later on in the game, there was a few bugs that could drive one batty from loosing your spot in the game in the like. I played the first two or t

My feelings for the living lavas are mixed. I mean, if you are using a mutant, which is mostly about reflect damage, those foes are their weakness. However, if you are using a cultist, things can get quite rough, but you gain much experience from those battles.   I mean, I just won a battle, against the living lavas. It started with two of those, then since they have a high chance of death spawning, long story short, I killed seven of those before they stop death spawning.  Haha.

Going through the Infinite Arena and every time I battle the Frost Wolf Hunter the game will freeze. The only way to fix it is to completely close the app, which then places me outside the Arena.

Band in a Box and VST Plugins such as Magical8bitPlug

Hi everyone,Those who've recommended Band in a Box on here, can it make high quality stuff? I know Piano, but no longer have the cables etc to hook up a Midi setup, so this is why Band in a Box sounds appealing. Use Band in a Box and have it create something using Magical8BitPlug, then maybe go in with the virtual keyboard if it has one and add a bit so that I actually do some work on it. also maybe generate a few tracks other than just Chiptunes mixed with the chiptunes to provide flavour.That's my idea for BIAB anyway. Can this be done?

Try SCW, it's got lots of exploration and virtual 3D audio, it may be old and a bit buggy, but if you have decent hardware, like an SSD and at least 4GB of RAM, it's actually not bad at all.I've heard good things about the Eric the cleric games, and if you don't like the sounds I'm pretty sure you can mod them.  Also consider paladin of the sky, since while people complain about the spell casting system, it does seem like something you mostly pick up after a while of practicing, and I've heard that the exploration is pretty good.It honestly sounds to me like you just haven't explored all there is to see in the games you do have access to, and I don't mean that in an assholish way either, because I totally understand the want to play mainstream games that have a massive amount of content and backstory, but what we have is still pretty okay, even if our amount of titles are kind of limited.Especially Alteraeon, I 
 mean, that place is really, really big, and the soundpack basically turns it into an audio game.I also recently got back into Swamp a bit, at least offline, and honestly, even custom maps are pretty fun if you set it up right, and good campaigns may be few and far between, but it's so easy to make a simple one that's still really fun and has a bit of backstory with weapons and places built around it, that you may as well just make a few suited  specifically to your tastes.  And this is coming from someone who literally could not code to save his own families life! :'(Entombed may be incredibly linear in nature, but the job and race combinations, especially the unique ones like adventurer thief, fortune teller wanderer, trickster mage, half elf ranger assassin, half elf druid necromancer, and half orc barbarian fighter or fighter barbarian, really open up new possibilities within the game, and the level of randomization for weapons, enemies, and s
 ecrets doesn't hurt either, as long as you don't wear your self out trying to play through 10 floors in a day.I would try not to focus on what you can't have as much, and look at the unexplored possibilities with what you do, is what I'm saying, basically, since otherwise your just going to be miserable for a not very good reason, all things considered... O and, if you want a good book, try the Forest Kingdom Saga or the Goblin Trilogy, in graphic audio if you can at all help it.

Hmm, well if your sure that the person on the other end has unblocked SoundRTS through there firewall, then I guess you should talk to your ISP and explain the problem your having.  This could just be a limitation of the way your cable company'sinfrastructure is set up, or it's possible that they block you from creating a server without a special internet plan, in which case it won't hurt to ask anyway, though it really doesn't seem like that's the case based on the lack of info given.Looking at your router on the MWEB website, I see that it supports a few protocols that, if switched off, may be helping to cause this problem.  Probably not though, but, what the hell it's worth a try... So try making sure that "NAT" and "UPNP" are both enabled, that's probably somewhere within an advanced 
 section dealing with LAN, local area network.  You should also consider updating your firmware to the latest version, that's going to be in the super top secret level 5, authorized access only government research lab section, where you'll probably have to submit to a retinal and DNA scan; so basically just the one most likely to brick your router for ever and ever and ever, leaving you sobbing and hopeless.  But if all else fails, updating the firmware might just fix things, and, hopefully, if you blow it up, your ISP can downgrade you back to the previous version.You should also know that if you already have a server anywhere within your local network, especially one that's running Linux, it could be intercepting port 2500 for it's self, since that's the default SSH port for accessing it I believe.Unfortunately, changing to TCP won't help you, they are two totally different things.  But you may consider that some firew

I have a few issues with the text games. With Ground War 1, I can run it just fine without Locale Emulator and the main menu is fine, because it is in English. Loading my save, however, the Japanese is read instead. Also with NVDA, the Japanese text appears in a read only edit box, so I have to wait for NVDA to say read only, read the Japanese that really isn't Japanese since i'm using Eloquence English voice, and the English translation will finally read. Pressing CTRL will make me miss it.With Locale Emulator, I can run it, but I have to hold down the return/escape keys. So to move through dialogue I have to hold enter for a few seconds, and to go back a menu I have to hold down escape.While NVDA does not read the text in the read only area, NVDA says things like "A?" "T?" for Attack and Talk respectively. I suspect it'd do that, and I get what those options mean, but things like item, option etc translate just fine. The problem I h
 ave is once I get into the menus for talking, I don't know who I'm pressing enter on, or what. I think the second option is the tavern, and there was a dialogue where everyone in your party had a drink discussing story events. Then I'm back in the menu for attack and talk and obviously I'm not supposed to attack the townspeople, even though it'll let me. I'm presented with the same talk menu again, but why is this menu not translating? I've got Locale Emulator running in Japanese, using the Japanese keyboard Microsoft Ime. Going into the options menu tells me my party members HP etc in English, so JGT is working.

And that is what sort of makes me jealous of my sighted peers. Whoever can come out with a first person mine craft for the blind will most assuredly have my hart felt thanks for life, or something like that. LOL. As for the pocket version, I will not believe that it is accessible until I see it with my own eyes. Weight a min, I mint hear it with my own ears. LOL. As for Skyrim, I would love to see an accessible version happen, but I am just dreaming there. So far, seeing anything that is well truly epic hasn’t really happen and I really wish it would. Is there anything close that I could play? Just wondering. I guess I could grumble off into swamp and shoot up a few zombies or something... Then again, maybe I can go find me a truly epic book to go get lost in...

Control shift W reads the whole window top to bottom, which is only really useful in message boxes that ask you a question. As for mouse movement, with the previously mentioned insert layout turned on, moving the Window-Eyes mouse works a lot like the JAWS/dolphin cursor. You press numpad minus to start moving the mouse, and then you can just use the arrow keys to read by lines, characters and words. Then pressing numpad plus turns it off and you can move the focus normally.With the normal WE desktop layout, the best way I can describe it is that you should think of the numpad as another set of arrow keys or a joystick. You don't need to turn on any specific cursor to move the mouse, because this is always done with the numpad. imagine that 5 is the center of this joystick and it will read the current character. Branching off from this you have the arrow keys. Numpad 8, which is directly above, is like the up arrow and it moves up a line, while numpad 2, which is direc
 tly below, moves down a line. 4 and 6, which are to the sides, move back and forward a character. Lastly, the keys in the corners move to the edges of the screen - 7, which is in the top left corner moves to the top left of the window (IE the very first character), 9 is the top right, 1 is the bottom left and 3 is bottom right. the last 2 keys that may be useful are the numpad slash and asterisk which respectively perform a left and right mouse click, and this is no matter what layout you're using.

It also has some pretty infuriating bugs. You can't "Fast forward" unless you do it at the precise moment you are offered it, and not after. You can't "Rewind" after death if your last choice was to wait (and not respond). The real-time aspect is not optional; you must sit through breaks, even where, honestly, they add no real suspense or value (Mark is sleeping, meh). Etc. I really want to like this game, but yeah, it feels like more of a publicity stunt with these sorts of issues. Moreover, having played it a bit more, I'd say familiarity with the novel and/or movie was _not_ advised, unless you enjoy reading reams of backgrounder.So in summary: I'll be playing this through, trying to get as much entertainment out of it as possible, and then I'll probably remove it. It's not going to stay a permanent fixture of my home screens.

Thanks people, this sounds like helpful stuff to know. I was rather surprised there wasn't an easily moveable on screen curser. What started looking into this was attempting to get to read the properties window when you hit alt enter on a folder or a drive to see the space, sinse right now my lady is attempting to do a lot of indexing onto different drives and isn't sure of how much space she has ware. In supernova though you can just hit numbpad plus and arrow down to get the info, however could I find how to read it in window eyes? could I heck!After looking in the manual I tried ctrl shift w and ctrl shift s, but neither helped and both seemed to read random bits of the screen.

Hey Arq. No problem about the hijacking: I like talking about Macs.  And you reminded me of another point which I'll mention. But first ...Nah, I doubt you'd experience any difference worth talking about while just doing everyday things. In fact, if stamina is the primary objective, then the lower power consumption of a MacBook Air is decidedly favourable. Really the MacBook Pro comes into its own while doing virtualisation, or when running multithreaded or multiprocess applications like encoders. And of course, more memory and CPU cores helps when you are doing more things in parallel, which would now include Safari plug-ins. But nah, really, you'll know when you need a quad-core processor on a Mac.And I will now add what I should have said at the top: this MacBook Pro is the last model that will run Windows 7, for those that really, really care to keep u
 sing that OS until 2020.

I don’t know what to put in the subject line of this topic. So, mods feel free to change it if needed. Anyway, I find myself wishing I could play games like: world of war craft, mine craft, mists, elder scrolls, monkey island, and ETC. I like the lord of the rings books, and I find the game of throne books partially interesting. It seems to me that the audio games out there don’t really fully meet all of my desires per say. I like TDV, but I only have it on my desktop and it looks like that game is no longer being sold. Swamp is OK, but has some bugs in it. Shades of doom is ok, but all that game seems to be a shoot them up kind of game. There is entombed, but that is a little buggy. Add to that, I kind of like exploring worlds via the first person perspective. Whenever I go into a game, I am not always looking to shoot up the place per say. The more I think about it, part of the fun is the journey. To me, the background music is a big part of the game. So, what about the muds you ask? I am not too sure of what would best me my requirements. SC is ok, and Miriani is clearly not among my favorites. I still have some mixed feelings about Prometheus. It does look interesting though. I played clok some and it seems so. Maybe I haven’t got far enough for it to be worth it. I also played Alter Aeon and found that I could stay with it to some degree. If I remember right, I even tried Discworld. I haven’t even got all that far in that mud. I even tried my hand at Fluxworld. I couldn’t seem to fully grasp that one. I guess that part of what I am looking for is something along the main stream as it were. Yes, there is a lot more games now that we can play than we used too. I am looking for something a little different, I guess. I am not too sure how to word this. Another thing that is worth noting, how many audio games have 5.1 surround sound? Not just that, how many really has good sound that is worth noting about? Speaking of sound, I would like to see games with adobe atmos. That would be interesting indeed. Anyway, hope this topic get people talking. LOL.

Would i notice much performence difference between my 2015 11 macbook air with i5 and 128 SSD, and a pro retina? I don't use heavy applications, only because i can't think of anything very processor intensive Is there much difference in startup time for example, is web browsing noticeably faster? I have another suggestion about a place in the game where being able to interrupt the speech would be useful. When you click on learn the actions, I think it would be nice if, when you press one of the action keys, the speech explaining what to do would be interrupted, because once you've played a pack or two, you know what the action keys are. As it stands, I find it very distracting to try to learn the sounds for a new pack while that description is playing, so I usually wait until after it's done. I would still like to have the option to silence it if possible, though.At Aaron, thanks for explaining, I understand keep the Beat a lot better now.

If the hotkeys don't do what the manual says, I think you have the insert key layout turned on. The new window-eyes versions, starting with I think either 8 or 9, ship with a whole bunch of scripts installed. One of them is a setup wizard that, on first launch, lets you set up a couple of most important settings like voice, what keys to speak as well as the keyboard layout. I installed Window-Eyes 9.3 recently and the default selection in that setup wizard for the keyboard layout is set to "alternative insert layout", or something to that effect anyway. This layout is designed to mimmic the typical layout of most other screen readers, mostly JAWS and NVDA. Window-Eyes's default keyboard commands are very unique and different - case and point being that insert T in JAWS and NVDA reads the window title, while in Window-Eyes it's used to get the current date and time.Here's the confusing part. This insert layout is implemented in a separate script
 , which has its own settings. So even though your Window-Eyes control panel may be saying you're using the standard desktop or laptop layout, that script is overwriting it. Because your friend is used to the standard WE keys, you'll probably just want to turn this script off. You can do that from the apps menu. Open the WE control panel, hit Alt+A to open the apps menu, down arrow to insert key layout, open its submenu and choose the "disable" option .

Thanks a lot for the help.I did everything you did, looked on the net to see where I can find everything on my specific rooter but for some reason I still can't host a game if someone is connecting from a different location.I also tried turning off the pc's and rooter's firewalls but still I can't host.I have a billion bipac 7300nx by the way and my ISP is MWeb in SA.Can I perhaps also try tcp instead of udp or won't that make a difference?I assigned a static IP as well but still nothing.Thanks again, at least I know the port forwarding process now.
