you don't need the claw until later on, level 17 is the first level where you need it and you're taught how to use it. you can't use the claw in the lower levels because there isn't any drop zone and you can pick a mouse up but you can't drop it on the ground. as for the mice, you must avoid them

New computer,what should I go for,mac,windows etc

Ahoy allThat's quite a lengthy subject, I know :dI'm looking to replace the laptop I'm currently using(lenovo z500) with either another windows machine or a mac where I can run windows either via duel boot,or vmware or whatever it is that mac users use to have windows on their macs.My budget is quite low,though I can extend it if a machine that's good and slightly above the price I'm willing to go at. About $800 or so,maybe 900, that's about 50k 55 60k INRI'm looking for whatever lasts me the longest, doesn't behave as badly as this lenovo z500, allows me to brows and play games without freezing or programs crashing with not responding dialogues.I5,or I7 processers would be nice although I guess only Asus I7 machines would meet my budget the ones with free doss on them,but if you can think of any,it'd be welcome just the same, 6 to 8 gb of ram,1tb hdd. is all I'm looking for. graphics card would be ni
 ce,but it don't matter either way.If macs,which would in the end be the cheaper but yet provide me with enough horsepower to run windows alongside for when I need it,without lagging or issues.I bought this Lenovo z500 about 2 years ago,and even though its a I5 M processer,6gb ram with 1tb hdd, it slows down a lot. Even with jaws, skype,Thecube and a few other applications running, it most often will show signs of strain,either by heating up or lagging slightly in places. Quite disappointing it not even lasting for 2 years considering the price I bought it for.I've done a clean install that is completely formated it a few times,installed windows, even had a guy over to open it up and clean its inside bits,but it behaves the same.So I'm just thinking of repairing its screen issue which is quite strange, I.E the screen displays just fine when windows booting,but as soon as the welcome screen shows up, the screen turns blank but I digress.
 Where was I again? ahh yeah repair the screen issue and selling this off and buying a new laptop to take notes on, and brows and stuff like that,which works well.

Respect the solutions for the chapter 8, I think that the second and third options are the best for it With the addition of the circle shape for calculate the effect area for these kind of skills, I Suppose that you have to add a and attribute for these kind of skills to modify and set the size of the radius of the spell.And, thinking on spells, I think that with the new range system, the "nearby" attribute for the skills, you can change for a hmmm skill_range or something similar, to set the maximum distance between the caster and the effect area for these kind of other spells Well, as other times, I Say. I'm thinking of ripping out the health system in favor of a more rtr style weapon and health system, to make it a bit more playable and fair. And maybe a bit of change with the mine damage system, I really don't know about that one. shaoh kahn in UMK3 has problems with uppercuts, if you land one, just run to him, and try again as he gets up. most of the times you'll hit him. but of course, you need reflexes to win, not only uppercuts.

corrupted shinnok in the hardest difficulty is hard for me at least, note that i'm saying "hardest", not "hard".But, it's true that if you play mainstream games, you shouldn't have any problems with the gray lady.I think the problem is in the jumps. unlike mainstream games, when you jump to the left or to the right, the character in "the gate" doesn't jump very far away. when you jump, tap the left or right arrows as fast as you can in mid-air, and you'll get away from her.then, attack her with arrows until she comes close to you, then. get the heck out of there!My ps-id is: brunehte

Hi.It's been a while since I've been on the forum. I'm doing great. My doctor has been bugging me to lose weight and I think I'm doing okay it's actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be. It's funny a couple of days ago I went for a walk on the treadmill for an hour and it really tired me out. I couldn't believe it, it was a lot of fun but very hard work.I've been a little sad because my favorite tv show cops ended back in april so I've been watching reruns until the new season comes on.I've been having a good time with my girlfriend she's a wonderful woman. She accepts me for who I am which is nice it makes it easier for me to communicate with her.Lately I've been reading a lot of books especially horror novels. I read john saul's the blackstone chronicles and I liked it so much I'm reading anothe one of his, cry for the strangers. Very good his books always scare me to death. A
 nd I'm very happy today because thanks to bookshare the fireman by joe hill was released today and they got it right away. I like joe hill a lot he's stephen king's son and he writes as well as his father. The fireman is an apocalyptic story and I can't wait to read it I love stories like that.I'm very excited tomorrow is my guitar lesson. I don't know what I'm going to learn but whatever it is I always have fun.

Hello.I would usually agree with you but now I can't use itunes. That's ok though because I can just ask siri to turn on voiceover when I get a new phone and go from there./edit/I've found an older version of itunes.If you search on google for how to downgrade itunes you should find some articles on doing just that and will be back to old itunes in no time.I can kind of see where figment is coming from. Not in the Apple is a shiney terd thing but apple should keep itunes accessible. It seems to work great on mac but on windows? No way!/end of edit/

so I'm considering writing a campaign, now that I can write maps successfully, but was wondering, do you still need to use the voices.txt file for campaign text? Do you still need to use actual sound files? or can you link text to a certain random number.also, off topic but will you ever return to sound mud?  that was a great little game and I miss it.

Good thing I have automatic updates for Itunes turned off, and that I do keep the installer around for whichever version is installed on my computer. I hope these accessibility issues will get resolved in a timely fashion, since I'll be getting an iPhone very soon, and I'm of the opinion that software should be kept up to date whenever possible, except in extreme cases like this one.

Yes ivan I completely see what your saying. Basicly you could get around this by stating in your docx that is is much easier, much much easier than in stw, to grab someones location and allow players to have a feature whare it is turned off. Of course being able to track from just the IP and the geolocale services that exist is a good one, but it's still kind of sketchy that you can Press enter on a name and grab the location in 200 ms. It's just slightly creapy because if I go on your game, i'm giving you my location in 2 seconds weather I like it or not. And no in stw there is not commands for me to view locations and people can turn off location tracking entirely meaning in game there is no way the game will ever request there IP address to the geolocale server. I's at least simply make it very clear that if people go on your game, you could have there location in 2 seconds if you decided to do anything about this. I am not trying to argue but again simply w
 ant to state my discomfert and feelings tward this decision and hopefully erge you to at least add a notice, and hopefully a way to make it so you can't see a players location.

Hello, I do have said menu in my client, and no. No one can access it. And let me just say, that you could do it as well, in stw. Not to also say, that you can do this on any game that tracks your IP, go to the website of the Ip geolocation, and type in/paste the IP and click go. There you have his IP, with his location!

Just a simple warning. While games can of course get your IP address and then the dev can track your location and everybody knows it, I wish nothing more but to state my discomfort in the fact that ivan has a menu in his game as a developer, i'm not sure if others can get access to this menu as well god I hope not, but when he goes into teh menu, he can click retrieve location of player x, and it geolocates and shows player X's location. I even have a recording of him doing this, and feel that I must simply state my discomfort about this. Anyway, See ya all.

Staindaddict, you cannot pause and add pieces.  Any changes you make to the track must be done before the arm begins on its path.Game man, if you are currently holding a mouse or rat then the arm is not able to switch back to a saw.

Tdv2 is released, as far as the story is concerned. As far as Treasure Hunt, that isn't abandoned just yet. He did talk about selling the rights to tdv2, but as far as I can tell, no official decisions were made on that. Nevertheless, I don't regret preordering that game, because, well 1 the story was complete, and second, whoever gets the rights to it, if anyone does, would continue the project. Nevertheless, nothing official was said about Treasure Hunt. It's true that he did say the current version of this game would be put aside development-wise, but it was sold upto the point of the site going down. The plus is that this isn't Bavisoft. Munawar is still active on Twitter, so that could also get some questions answered.

What are the differences between the "axes" and "large axes" skills? What I mean is that I thought that "large axes" was for great axes and battle axes, but on the google group for Entombed it said that "axes" was for hand axes and battle axes, and "large axes" was only for great axes.

If you play mainstream games, the grey lady shouldn't be a problem. I've beaten her before and apparently everyone else has as well. So she obviously is beatable. And fighting game bosses don't really require good reflexes as much as figuring out the AI pattern and tricking it.

I have no doubt about my reflexes, I play console games since I'm a kid and thus, I had to adapt to them and not the other way around, like for instance, memorizing the EXACT moment when you have to press a button combination to complete quick time events in the naruto shippuden ultimate ninja storm series or even beating ultimate mortal kombat 3 with relative ease, as Shao kahn demands good reflexes and timing, especially for a blind person. Ehh I guess I'll just stick to standard video games, along with psycho strike, q9 and world of war.

Congratulations! Because chapter 8 has become much more difficult, I think, because the archers have an increased range, so:- the melee units are less efficient against the archers;- most friendly archers die in a1, so the necromancer has to animate the dead from a1 and b1, instead of just b1.Anyway, chapter 8 is supposed to be a tutorial and a demo of the gameplay mechanics. Potential solutions:1. Make the first step of chapter 8 much easier by adding enough friendly footmen (and eventually removing friendly archers).2. Give the area of effect of the animate spell the shape of a circle of diameter 12 (probably) centered on the caster.3. Add instructions and hints in the chapter.4. Restore archer range to the old value, even if it might be too short for archers to intercept units from every cliff in the jl5 map. I'll just fix jl5, it's a new map after all.

hi. @staindaddictspoilers ahead:try to get to a4 where you must place a north east track, this way the arm will go all the way to the border of the map killing all rats. the starting direction is east if I remember right, but with 3 tracks you can make the arm go south towards a4 where you must place the north-east track. north-east because though the arm travels south a4 is north of the arm so the arm will enter trough the northern portion of the track and it will go east.end of spoilers.

Okay so, by pure chance, I got that bug where you accidentally stay on the previous map when the next map loads, and have to log out and back in to fix it, when I was on the factory map.Well, when that happens, the new map's title is still spoken and, after that I was able to find out exactly which sound I'm missing.The map is housemap.dat and has the title of "The House of ... Someone".The sound is a type 2 ambient, which means it's a stationary destructible, just like the TV, generator, and game console are.It's at coordinates 15, 19, which means that it's in the room that you first enter when you walk in the door, at the very top left (north west) corner of it.Of note, this is also the very first map ever created for RTR as far as I know, so most people will have it.So at this point, it doesn't matter which version of RtR you have, if it's the older one, the sound I need will be under
  "Sounds\amb\generic\00" and if you have the newer version, the one that most people do, it will be under "Sounds\Entities\00"

I know you can do that with your shieldbits, but I was hoping there could also be one specifically for ground enemies, since there is one specifically for air enemies, and in level 5 and up, ground enemies are the bigger problem IMO.Yeah I realized that about the obtained item sounds after I looked at the example pack, sorry about that, guess I just didn't think it through first, also, I like that synth, so don't think I'm knocking it because I'm not!    It was a very inventive idea to use it in this way in the first place, and it works well.The only reason it becomes difficult to tell the armored airships apart from the ground bases is because the pitch of the enemies is randomized, so if the airship's ends up being much lower or the base's much higher than normal, which happens often enough to become an issue,
  then they can sound very similar especially from a distance.I can tell the difference between those sign waves when I hear them of course, but in the heat of battle it's nearly impossible for me to tell between those three particular ones, and while it doesn't really matter if you know what your getting before hand anyway, since there are no bad items, I guess I just figured that the differentiation was there for some reason...  And I can't imagine most people being able to tell either.On another note though, as I was looking through some of the sounds in the example pack earlier, I thought of a couple of things that may help pack creators not have to jump through as many hoops or cut as many corners.Firstly, the possibility of having a separate sound for your beam when your using it while the aerial rapid fire powerup is active would be nice... Of course you could easily just make two copies of the same sound with differen
 t names and therefore it wouldn't change if you didn't want it to.Secondly, it seems like with events within levels, like when you use an antiaircraft burst or a shieldbit burst, there is a delay before new ships appear that is significantly longer than the normal one that happens when you shoot a single ship down with the beam and the next one arrives.I don't know how this is calculated right now, but my idea is that it would be nice if new ships wouldn't actually start showing up unless the aerial burst or shieldbit burst sounds were over, possibly with a hard limit of like, five or ten seconds.The reason I say this is because while item obtain sounds are easy to make short versions of, it might be nice to have miniature cut scenes for big attacks like that, without making it so that the player can't hear over them and gets killed because of it.I know that ten seconds sounds like a long time, but when I was thinking about the
  pack that I wanted to create, I realized that if I wanted to do what I was planning, then I'd need six or seven seconds to do it correctly.Who knows, there might even be enough time for that now, but since I can't see the code, I don't know if that would always be the case as it stands now, and without knowing that, I don't feel comfortable doing that to the player, especially on a high level that took a long time to get to.Lastly, I just wanted to point out a small error in the readme, which by the way is written quite well, it's just this one thing probably slipped past, happens to all of us sometimes.It's in the section that describes the level three aerial enemy "The porter" and the word "line" is incorrectly spelled as: "alne".  Not a big deal of course but I thought you should know regardless.

I know you can do that with your shieldbits, but I was hoping there could also be one specifically for ground enemies, since there is one specifically for air enemies, and in level 5 and up, ground enemies are the bigger problem IMO.Yeah I realized that about the obtained item sounds after I looked at the example pack, sorry about that, guess I just didn't think it through first, also, I like that synth, so don't think I'm knocking it because I'm not!    It was a very inventive idea to use it in this way in the first place, and it works well.The only reason it becomes difficult to tell the armored airships apart from the ground bases is because the pitch of the enemies is randomized, so if the airship's ends up being much lower or the base's much higher than normal, which happens often enough to become an issue,
  then they can sound very similar especially from a distance.I can tell the difference between those sign waves when I hear them of course, but in the heat of battle it's nearly impossible for me to tell between those three particular ones, and while it doesn't really matter if you know what your getting before hand anyway, since there are no bad items, I guess I just figured that the differentiation was there for some reason...  And I can't imagine most people being able to tell either.On another note though, as I was looking through some of the sounds in the example pack earlier, I thought of a couple of things that may help pack creators not have to jump through as many hoops or cut as many corners.Firstly, the possibility of having a separate sound for your beam when your using it while the aerial rapid fire powerup is active would be nice... Of course you could easily just make two copies of the same sound with differen
 t names and therefore it wouldn't change if you didn't want it to.Secondly, it seems like with events within levels, like when you use an antiaircraft burst or a shieldbit burst, there is a delay before new ships appear that is significantly longer than the normal one that happens when you shoot a single ship down with the beam and the next one arrives.I don't know how this is calculated right now, but my idea is that it would be nice if new ships wouldn't actually start showing up unless the aerial burst or shieldbit burst sounds were over, possibly with a hard limit of like, five or ten seconds.The reason I say this is because while item obtain sounds are easy to make short versions of, it might be nice to have miniature cut scenes for big attacks like that, without making it so that the player can't hear over them and gets killed because of it.I know that ten seconds sounds like a long time, but when I was thin

crashmaster I checked and you are correct, file one is 9mb which is very odd, because I used the same recording ap I did for file to, is it not letting you download it? I can try to convert the file to mp3 and see if it will become smaller if need be

@Theo, if you have used Mirosoft word 2010, could you tell me, what is the performance of Jaws when reading long documents?@Figment, autonumbered lists and bullit lists are very important to me, and there is no reason why Jaws should not read them. A warning about iTunes for Windows version 12.04

On the Leasy list, there is a warning not to upgrade to iTunes for Windows 12.04 because it has some serious accessibility problems regardless of what screen reader you use. Brian Hartgen is recommending putting off upgrading until the accessibility problems are resolved.This just lends credibility to my theory that Apple doesn't give iTunes for Windows the same accessibility consideration they give to iTunes for OS X because Windows and Windows based machines are competing products to their own Macintoshes.I don't really care whether my theory has any truth to it or not. I'm just glad I no longer use iTunes.I posted this as a caution for those Windows users that do use iTunes, because, unless you download and keep the full installer for each version, it's damned near impossible to go back once you've upgraded. Better safe than sorry.

Okay so, by pure chance, I got that bug where you accidentally stay on the previous map when the next map loads, and have to log out and back in to fix it, when I was on the factory map.Well, when that happens, the new map's title is still spoken and, after that I was able to find out exactly which sound I'm missing.The map is housemap.dat and has the title of "The House of ... Someone".The sound is a type 2 ambient, which means it's a stationary destructible, just like the TV, generator, and game console are.It's at coordinates 15, 19, which means that it's in the room that you first enter when you walk in the door, at the very top left (north west) corner of it.Of note, this is also the very first map ever created for RTR as far as I know, so most people will have it.So at this point, it doesn't matter which version of RtR you have, if it's the older one, the sound I nee
 d will be under "Sounds\amb\generic\00" and if you have the newer version, the one that most people do, it will be under "Sounds\Entities\00"
