That is one of my dreams, to pet a dolphin or swim with them!I do the same thing though. Whenever I read a book, I'll always look around online to see what else I can learn about the subject.If you like fascinating dolphin stories, try "Ripple" by Tui Allen.It is such a unique story, that I really can't describe it. All I can say is that it is written beautifully. Basically, it's about the life of a dolphin named Ripple, who lives in the distant past, and it tells about the impact she made on humanity.It's available on Kindle.

hmmm can you show me your alsoft.ini?and your current distribution of the files?Respecting the api, of openal, and for the game. You can override the user settings directly from the game? For example. If the user doesn't have openalsoft installed, and doesn't habe the mhr files or the alsoft.ini  you can use a local openal32.dll placed in the folder of the game, with its corresponding ini an mhr without conflicting with the current settings of the user?Thanks for all!

ok, out of all the manamon I've seen, I like that little pegasus.  air, ice, flame and electric type, yes it's got an 8x weakness to rock, but.  that's not the most common thing out there.I completed the manapedia, and that level 100 brawl is quite nice.  when you're running the 4 greater legends.  even if erodium was only 71.  muhahaha.  I think sleep is in order, and yeah, I'm seriously putting manamon down for a while I've done it all, and I don't want to do it all again for a long time.

"he said" and "she said' is perfectly serviceable more than half of the time. You do not need to use power verbs all the time. In fact, the more you use them, the more it makes your writing look unprofessional and grabby...like you feel as if you have to explain exactly what your characters are doing, even when context should do that for you.I've seen freeze last for like 6-7 rounds I think, but I've seen it wear off almost immediately too many times to count. I personally think that it should last for anywhere from 3-5 rounds guaranteed. What I'd do is start the counter on round 3, 4 or 5 (chosen at random) after freeze has been implemented, and with every round make the likelihood rise by a little.Pseudo-code version:Target status is frozenAt end of round, check the number of turns target has been frozen; if number is less than or equal to 2, remain frozenIf number is greater than 2, begin "thaw counter" which begins with random number set between 10 and 40On every following round where target is frozen, increment this counter by 20, and check itIf the thaw counter is less than 100, remain frozenIf the thaw counter is 100 or greater, unfreeze immediatelyThis is just easy numbers for now, but a situation like that would mean you'd be guaranteed to stay frozen the first two rounds, then more and more likely to thaw with every round that went by.

Hello folks! Yeah, even living in Brazil, I managed to buy myself a PS4 from the US in order to be able to use the TTS thing. I agree it still lacking many things, but things as they are are enough for me to have some fun.The last topic some people opened about the accessibility on the PS forums had some minor results I guess, so maybe we can get back there and write some more encouraging words and suggestions. I know it is not about benevolence, but we've had some nice changes so far regarding console accessibility, be it due to law enforcement or not. Hello, I will make my final comment on this topic concluding what I think about accessibility, Apple and Android.As far as my mind tells me, it drives me to believe that I am pro of the thought “your device should work for you, and not you, for it.” This is from an accessibility standpoint. The reason is because everyone who is not blind let’s his device do the work for him. An his work, is not on an inaccessible environment. For example, a sighted person with an Android device does not need to download another keyboard for more accessible typing, neither does he need to download another Mail client because the built-in one is not accessible. And what happens to a blind person with an Android device is staggering. He/she will need to replace almost half of the built-in apps to create an accessible environment. Sometimes, he/she will even need to pay for accessible and better software. For instance, only an inconsiderable number of Talkback users use the default Google TTS. Most of them buy text-to-speech voices from Code factory or Acapela to improve the performance with Talkback. Hopefully, the number of users who buy other accessible keyboards for daily use is not as great as the number of those who buy text-to-speech software. The question is, why should the user be forced to buy even the most elementary apps and services to gain access to his device? Perhaps because he’s being treated as a second-class citizen? Perhaps because he, belonging to another community, considered to be equal to all the other people of different communities or societies, should work and pay more to have the same access because he’s not part of other communities who are different from his? Or, possibly the company, who is a giant distributor worldwide, does not respect the laws concerning accessibility standards? Maybe, and we may go on with questions and assumptions, but keeping in mind that we should have the right to buy and use these technological products just as accessibly as all the other part of the world. It may be too harsh, and probably rather offencive to say that I’m not responsible for being blind. After all, it wasn’t myself who took away my sight. Accessibility is a standard and not a bonus. Well, at least in this small world of technology which is more artificial than the real world.Now, talking a little about Apple, I’ll show my reasons why I will stay with iOS, despite the removal of the headphone jack. By the time you unbox your iPhone, you just press the homebutton three times consecutively and you have full access to your device. You do not need to install an extra screen reader, neither call a sighted friend to turn it on for you. Also, you do not have to install another homescreen, another keyboard, another music/video player app, another mail client, another phone manager, and another PDF viewer. You have the possibility to do it, but in most of the cases, you do not get the same quality as you do with the built-in apps. It’s true that you need to download other apps such as software for productivity, communication or messaging, but you need not necessarily download them. What is true is that you’re not downloading them as a replacement to the built-in apps as a result of inaccessibility. Voiceover will cover all the areas on your phone and you won’t need to occasionally look for sighted help as you may do on Android. It is easy and simple to navigate, plus you’re instructed in most of the cases what to do. Everything can be accomplished quickly, from answering a call to typing. And let’s pay a little attention for a minute to typing.  The Braille keyboard on Voiceover is one of the greatest features on this screen reader because you can type nearly  in the same speedas you do with a computer keyboard. You can even use it on the bus or school, as your fingers will be easily accommodated to the dots on the screen, and the only thing you need to do is to let your fingers do the typing while holding your phone in landscape position with the homebutton facing your right hand, and the top of the screen touching the palm of your left hand. There are hopefully a good number of languages supported both by voiceover and text-to-speech service, so you can use high-quality voices and full integration with your language. Internet, being one of the most used services nowadays, is fully supported by Voiceover, and you can browse with ease using roter and left-right swiping/flicking. Being a student at faculty, I have had the need to use many PDF books part of the curriculum of my subject, and believe me, it has been a great pleasure for the first time to read PDF books on my phone. iBooks didn’t crash like Adobe reader and it switched pages automatically without having to manually do that. If you freeze something it should be frozen for at least one round. Otherwise, what's the point? And I've seen this more than once now. Polosses hits with frigid touch, freezes something, it is no longer frozen, and uses an attack. That's all in one round. Sleep certainly doesn't work that way. If you are put to sleep you are sleeping for at least one round, and at most five. I mentioned in a post a while back that I thought it was just that psycho trick got some toned down version of that status that just freezes for, er, 0 rounds. But that's clearly not the case. Polosses freezes for 0 rounds too, and it's dumb. Also, "You may not think me a worthy master yet Irroadium, but I am but a child." Whoops?

Press windows and c to get to the charms bar. Go to settings, then control pannel. Once you're there, tab until you find language, or something like that. It's not display language, that will change your computer's language. Press enter there, then choose add language. Add Japanese, then press the ok button. Your computer might have to restart, so let it then you can play the game and translate it. There won't be a lot of translating necessary after the next update. As of now, the only thing in the status menu that isn't translated is magic defense, have to think of another way to say that because the game only let me put magic def or something similar. This is because Text Game Maker has a limited number of characters per line, and it's not long enough to fit magic defense in English, or magic evasion. I'm also working on all the items and skills. No chance, none at all.And, I might have been a bit hasty about Trumer. Its attack and speed are fairly decent (not awesome, but not bad), and its only bad stat is special attack (pity, since its only worthwhile poison move is Poison Dart...speaking of which, why is Poison Dart a special move while Ooze Blast is physical? Poison isn't the worst type in the game - I'd say that goes to insect - but it's damned close.

Here's my stance.While others most likely use their iPhone more than I use mine and the earphone jack thing would affect them more adversely, I am just a casual user. I mainly use my iPhone for Netflix and music.Now, I know what you're thinking, the earphone jack is a huge part of that. But I also know when and where I can charge my phone and I'm prepared. As for accessibility, that's part of it, and to be honest I've not noticed many bugs other than some auto gain issues at times and the rotor issue, which are both easy to work around. I'm not blindly following Apple, I'm a Windows person myself, but their phones do what I need them to and that's enough for me.

So after several months I finally decided to put my sceptical feelings aside and try this game. Within ten minutes, the game had already closed on me twice because of a supposed speedhack detection. I don't even have anything installed that can perform a speedhack, let alone know how to use such things. Needless to say, I'm not amused and probably will not come back to this game until this does not happen anymore... Having to restart the game possibly after less than two minutes of gameplay just isn't fun. It's possible that this is because my game is running on a machine which is not particularly amazing to say the least, but I do wonder how many other people are being caught in the crossfire at the moment. So if possible, this speedhack detection system will need to be improved on before I try this again.

Actually, I have discovered that it is in fact quite easy to get 8000 health without cheating. Just get a bunch of item grabbers, and if you have poison drinks or antibiotics, you can quite easily get massive amounts of health.

dude, that stuff would never happen.  if you cary over your keys, then there's no point.in post game again.  154 seen, 139 caught.  going mythic catching,  and once I finish manapedia,  I'm seriously putting manamon down for a good long time since I'm getting kind of manamoned out.I still like dragomier  and dramagon  though I like the former over the latter.  not too impressed with elvand though his darring comback did hav it's nitch while kicking sacraloon rump in master battle.  got him to use up all his medicle miricles.  which helped.I'll take grandland again, and mortrex again.  tunshano,  knocked out  a mortrex 6 levels above him in one hit,  as well as the water tamer's ice types.  knew I kept him around.but yeah, a full team that doesn't include, any starter,  the fiendor,  or leonitar,   just cuz the last 2 are very
  good at what they do.but yeah,  a manabreak is a good thing.  played it straight  pretty much for the past 11 days.  I'll probably pick it up in a month or so,  or every so often to see if the unknown gifts have changed any.  though  that grandland was pretty good.

yeah jayde, i know 45 is a bit too much, but i'm only going through manamon to get to post game, so i want to give myself as little of hard time as possible, so over leveling is not a bad idea. i will never, ever use flame starter, that thing is... if something is effective against it you could say good by to it, it will most likely die.  wish i chosen Leafox for my starter, loved that guy, though it gets hard to train him in starwalk mounten. so yeah, should i bother to grind out garerol and hydrake? i mean, i'm planning  to sub some of my party for arctanna and the ice legendary, i don't use pandorbot, but i might have to, in shadow kingdom. i really wish it will be optional, fighting the god form of irodium. also, some ideas for the post game/manamon 2 if that thing ever comes out.1. no one said shadow admins are dead, do they? for all we know, there could be out there, gathering strength and coming back, or, they fleed to other country's. 2. this is something i came up when i won the third stadium, so you beat the guy twice, and you axedently kill him, who, how, doesn't matter, the guy is dead, perhaps one of your manamon did it? i don't know. maybe it will work with irodium in your party, the leader will give you a third rematch shouting something like! your truly evil if irodium obeys you! you'll be forced to fight him with irodium till it dies and game over, or you kill the leader. pisst dragon kills the stadium leader! that would be a good line for news paper, would it? . anyway, his family finds out, and rena comes to find you, you have a talk with you trying to explain that it wasn't your falt, it's irodiums, but she doesn't care and challenges you for a battle! 6 on 6 battle, 3 mortrexes, that would be fun, huh? 3 mortrexes and... hmm, who i seen pack a punch... maybe 2 leanra? an

yeah jayde, i know 45 is a bit too much, but i'm only going through manamon to get to post game, so i want to give myself as little of hard time as possible, so over leveling is not a bad idea. i will never, ever use flame starter, that thing is... if something is effective against it you could say good by to it, it will most likely die.  wish i chosen Leafox for my starter, loved that guy, though it gets hard to train him in starwalk mounten. so yeah, should i bother to grind out garerol and hydrake? i mean, i'm planning  to sub some of my party for arctanna and the ice legendary, i don't use pandorbot, but i might have to, in shadow kingdom. i really wish it will be optional, fighting the god form of irodium. also, some ideas for the post game/manamon 2 if that thing ever comes out.1. no one said shadow admins are dead, do they? for all we know, there could be out there, gathering strength and coming back, or, they fleed to other country's. 2. this is something i came up when i won the third stadium, so you beat the guy twice, and you axedently kill him, who, how, doesn't matter, the guy is dead, perhaps one of your manamon did it? i don't know. maybe it will work with irodium in your party, pisst dragon kills the stadium leader! that would be a good line for news paper, would it? . anyway, his family finds out, and rena comes to find you, you have a talk with you trying to explain that it wasn't your falt, it's irodiums, but she doesn't care and challenges you for a battle! 6 on 6 battle, 3 mortrexes, that would be fun, huh? 3 mortrexes and... hmm, who i seen pack a punch... maybe 2 leanra? and one dragon type? sorry i don't have it in my party so i cant check how to spell his name and i don't think i've seen it yet. anyway this could link to shadow organisation or something, wi

I'm not sure on that number either kelwl. I'm still waiting to get enough bronze wyverns for a gold dragon, though my fifth tower should come soon. However note that the cult you need 380 k mana and you need to upgrade your mana storage capacity as well as the speed, so I've been hitting those buttons along with the other upgrade buttons. I hope the cult isn't just a way of ending the game for everything to happen again since that would be dreadful, and if so I'll be giving a zero star review on the ap store, though as it is I can't say I'm too impressed albeit I think I might as well see the dam thing through to the end since it's not exactly mind taxing to go hitting those rotten upgrade buttons :d.

My experiment with packaging and encrypting sounds with Python

Hello all,Well, in BGT we have the ability to pack and encrypt sounds for security reasons. Well, I wanted to get the same with Python, so for two days I was googleing and playing around with file encryption and decryption in Python with pycrypto. Basically, what I wanted to achieve is as follows:1. Put all wave files and other game data files inside a zip file.2. Encrypt the zip file so cheeters cannot modify game data, and also to prevent users from modifying sound files.3. When the game needs access to sounds and other secret data, decrypt the zip file with previously set encryption key, but data from decrypted zip must be extracted and accessed from within computer's ram, not from a hard drive, again to prevent users from accessing data inside a package.Fortunately, I was able to achieve all of that, and here's the result (coded in Python 2.7): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/407 … eriment.7zHowever, there's one issue that I'm aware of.Since I wanted to load wave files from memory directly without accessing hard drive, I had to use Python's wave module and python's io.BytesIO to get this working. But wave module returns wave data as waveform bytes (I think), while some other sound libraries such as LibAudioVerse require array with floats that represent sound data. Fortunately, I was able to get to my friend Google and find some kind of solution on stackoverflow, but this solution has one limitation. You cannot convert 24-bit or hire wave data, only 16-bit. So inside a zip file I have two wave files, splash.wav and telephone.wav. The splash.wav plays normally, however if you try to play the second one you will get an error. Some other Python audio modules such as PyMedia and probably PyAl don't require any conversion. For sound_lib AKA BASS I have no idea.For this code to work, you need Python27, Libaudioverse 0.9A7, and PyCrypto. LAV and I think PyCrypto are both available on pip.Anyway, at the link above is entire code that I was working on for two days, so please give any feedback regarding security, speed and loading packed sound data:Thanks!

You can back out of games that save their progress, that was me saying that. What I mean is games like Laberynth, since there are many rounds, you can back out, and it allows you to continue. This isn't a criticism, its a good thing especially if you're playing on a phone since if you need to take a call or something, you can come back to it.

While I enjoy the accessibility I get, I'm also not blinded enough go with Apple simply because of it while ignoring all the leaps that Android is making with each progressive release. It's the same with video gaming consoles... people are pushing the xbox1 because of the fact that narrator on it is better than the ps4 equivalent, but for me, it's not about how much of the interface gets read... it's about the game library and which of those games are more playable as someone who is blind, and the ps4 steps all over the xbox1 in that area.

@ianhamelton, more configuration options would be good, but my thinking is that again, all of those things you mentioned are commonplace for any screenreader. There's no one advantage to using NVDA as the base other than the fact that it's free. All the things that make it NVDA like object navigation, the keyboard commands, addons, are all pretty windows specific. And it would technically be a misnomer too, since NVDA means non visual desktop access and the ps4 is definitely not a desktop! hahaha. But I see where you're coming from, and to be honest, I don't really care what they call the screenreader as long as it gets made. lol In short, for me personally, the existing base for covering dynamic text to speech scenarios would be the only reason for using NVDA as a base. the stock ESpeak voices with NVDA are horrible, and since voices are mostly designed for windows, the quality of the voices aren't screenreader dependent.  our position. I would say that it has basically all the configuration you need as it stands right now... volume, speech rate, and an on and off function. The only thing missing is pitch and voice selection options, but until more voices get made for it if at all, that option doesn't really have to be there. haha.Porting may not be as time consuming as rewriting, which is why they would've been smart to do what you suggested and licensing NVDA. The problem there again comes with having to learn the programming environment for the particular screen reader. Again, it would be like porting voiceover to Windows... it might not be as bad as designing a complete screen reader, but I think the process would be enough of a hastle. If it wasn't for the sake of compliance, Japan at least should be supported too along with the US, which is why I think that compliance was definitely a part, demonstrated by the fact that a ps4 that's not bought in this region doesn't even let you cheat by changing the language option. I agree. iit would be cool if you got like 3 random guns when you respawn and you would have to get the rest of them in items. cheaters are present in the game again, I saw different people with health over 5, one had about 7 health so it's definitely a cheat. I think a health limit would solve this problem.

As far as I know, Eloquence is owned by Nuance, and it doesn't matter whether they are maintaining it or not, it isn't abandoned, so a license to use Eloquence with NVDA would be needed for it to be legal.The remark about not recording a podcast with itseems to be an indication that this copy of Eloquence isn't legal.

Assault_freak ADA actually doesn't cover it at all, it's another law called CVAA, which requires all communications technology (or communications elements of general purpose tech) to be accessible. Even PS4's limited text to speech covers much more than just navigating to and using communications (party chat etc), so they obviously can't only be interested in compliance. So is amount of the OS that's covered the only thing that would be better about licensing an existing screen reader? There isn't anything else, like quality of voices, configuration options etc. that would be better too? I have to ask because I'm not a day to day screen reader user myself. I have screen reader training and use a screen reader for work for doing accessibility audits etc, but my understanding is at that kind of level, enough to understand the big issues, barriers etc, but not more subtle differences between screen readers that make life a bit easier o

@Figment: from what I understand, the guys behind eloquence don't seem to be updating it anymore, it was companies like code factory that approached them and licensed it for mobile. I'm not even sure what's happening, desktop wise. I think the NVDA creators have, basically, said, use the addons at your own risk but if you record a podcast with NVDA, don't use the voice. Unfortunately, I have no full on proof right now though and wish I knew what the full story is.

I think if you do this, there should be a bit somewhere in the game, whether it's an intro or maybe at the end, that says something about Thomas Ward. YOu know how in movies you get stuff sometimes that says this movie is dedicated in memory of a person, maybe one of the acting team or someone the person was inspired by.

All the info was correct, coincidentaly when the GMA website came back up the errors stopped. You'll find that the client checks to see if your rununning the latest version, so errors were being thrown up because there wasn't anything to check the version against.

@Mirage yeah, I love these sorts of threads too, one reason i got into writing reviews, I've already done one for the uplift war, and will write one for star tide rising when my lady and i have finished it. What is particularly cool about Star tide rising is that after reading about a spaceship crewed by nio dolphins, I spent last night on wikipedia reading up on actual dolphins and whales just to get some background .I have stroked a dolphin before which was fairly amazing, but Brin really does his homework with his other species, even while making them very real characters which is why i wanted more info. I'll give Star tide rising lots of credit for doing things with Dolphins I'd never even considered,  eg, ever imagined a dolphin thug? or a dolphin scientist? It also has one neochimp character who is absolutely hilarious, though I'
 ll say more when I write the review.The passage is awesome, though I think the twelve might actually be even better, it's certainly darker, and yes it is possible to have a book that is darker than the book in which most of the world's population get killed off . i love the way Cronin deals with characters so that even his bad guys come off as very human, indeed that's one thing which rocked about city of mirrors, you get Fanning's full life story and understand why he is the way he is. this doesn't make him any nicer, but it does make him more than just a stock villain who wants to destroy the world because he is eeevil! It's odd, I've read several kids books as an adult, indeed I've occasionally enjoyed series that weren't around when I was a kid (I definitely appreciated the how to train your dragon bo
 oks, and not just because they are read by David Tenant). But Redwall is just a bit too  nicy nicy for me I think. I've read several of them, five or six, but compared to Jarvis or indeed someone like Roald dahl they just read as far too symplistic in characters. Yes, they're charming and sweet and have fun moments, but I tend to find that can't carry for the length of one entire book, then again I confess my tolerance for "charming" has rather increased since I got married .At the moment I'm still finishing up the second mistborn book, Well of assention. one thing I do notice about Sanderson which is a miner negative, is that he really doesn't know how to write characters with low self isteme. he tries it with Vin in mistborn, but more often than not she just comes across as irrational, or as if she has random voices in
  the head rather than having a serious problem, likewise like a lot of writers he really can't do ptsd or traumatic childhoods much as he tries very hard with vin. Indeed I get the strong impression Sanderson himself is a very confident and outgoing sort of guy, so he has trouble with characters who oppose that personality, one reason why most of his main characters tend to be pretty outgoing types and even when quiet, like Cereen in Way of kings they have a habbit of mouthing off.it's not a problem, and the books are very readable, but this is one thing I think that makes the second mistborn book a little less captivating than the first, since the first went at such a pace Vin's character conflict wasn't quite as noticeable, while the hole "am I worthy to marry him, he is such a good man" thing in the second is a little too much, or at least it doesn't have a flavour of reality. Still as I recall hero of ages, the third book was an e
 xtended climax and sanderson does very much know how to keep tention going even if he has trouble with traumatized characters, so the series is good, though perhaps not exceptionally awesome the way stormlight is.
