I post them in the DECtalk archive, I'm Mohamed Smith on there. As for that line, this person's coding style is strange. The comma, I believe, is because they are trying to insert a pause without inputting a duration manually. Basically, even in phoneme interpretation, punctuation like commas and periods still affects DECtalk's processing. I believe what the author is trying to do is use a comma as a pause, because it was enough for that song. Or maybe it was left over from a line they deleted. Though DECtalk's requirements for songs are very loose, so it doesn't error because of it.

@roelvdwal I'm afraid I have no idea what any of that means, I just want to play the game. indeed I thought the upnp thing was something the game did itself? I did have people connect to me with some of the older versions of the game, but now whenever I create a server nobody seems to. Again, a chat function might help here to know if someone tried to connect to me or not.@Draq, I thought you could generate a fresh deck file and then add the cards in game? i know you can! write the decks manually, but that's something of a pain to do, though it's possible the ability to create a new deck is one we need in the game, especially if there will be more cards and expantions in the future.H

Sorry but bad English isn't a good excuse!And well, reread akilor's post above, it says that admins can not warn people if they spam in the radio, cause radio is roll play. Meaning, if you spam somebody just with talking in real they don't have something called warnning. They have something called punch and kick.

Unfortunately Mirage Lost cities is one of those games where while it's absolutely accessible in terms of playing, we completely lloose all of the atmosphere, either in how the computer opponents like Miss Lindenbrock look or what the cards look like. it's a shame since I love the idea of an archaeological expedition to an ice country or atlantis but there you go, heck when I played it even seemed the in game music caused problems which is a shame. then again on the other hand, the game is detailed and definitely addictive and good to pass time on, it was actually the first game I got on my Iphone, though i've not played it for a while. As to tactics, well the game isn't built to frustrate you, but you do have to play with calculated risk. For example, it is not good at the start to play a 7 just after a 3 since you negate yourself playing anything in between, but if your coming to the end of the draw pile you might have to to cut your losses. Sim
 ilarly, you need to sit on some cards so your opponent doesn't get the, though obviously not to the extent that you scupper yourself. I'm no expert, I've beaten the second level computer player but haven't beaten either of the higher skill ones, and indeed am likely very rusty not having played for a bit, but it's all a matter of developing instincts for when to play, when to hold, and when to discard. Actually, Miss Lindenbrock is a good way to practice the game, since while she's beatable she's not a total pushover either. Also the achievements are very nice to earn in lost cities since you can pretty much work towards them while playing, for example getting so many wins against computer opponents or winning with certain conditions like having all four lanes filled.Oh, and if you really fansy an easy match I'll play you at some point :d.(as I said i'm very rusty at the second and last time I played Lindenbrock totally dest
 royed me though I've beaten her in the past!). .

Monthly chat October 2016

Welcome to October, your month of ghosties and ghoulies and long leggedy beasties,  or at least towards the end of it if you do halloween. Likewise it's when the weather is remembering it's getting cold and supposed to be autumn, albeit where I am it tends to think it should be autumn in about March . Feel free to talk about anything in your life in this topic, what your reading/playing/watching/listening to/inserting into your nose, how school/work/university/life of crime/anything else is going, and generally how you are. A brief one this morning from me since I'm about to dash off for a long all day 7th sea roleplay session, me playing a lost fate witch (for once I'm not a combat monster but a magician). It's also Mrs. Dark's first tabletop game so should be rather interesting, she's playing an assassin who can transport 
 objects around space. I'll say more later when I have a little more time to write, either way, hope everyone is having a good October and not too cold,  or indeed freaked out by monstrous doings! .

No, they don't actually need to end with a period. In fact, I rarely use periods, except for those strange times where DECtalk will pause in the middle of a word, because it hasn't encountered a clause terminator. I encountered this when I was writing my DECtalk cover of Greensleeves. As for the comma, I'm not sure what you mean. Could you point to a line that demonstrates what you're referring to?

Hi.Sorry for beeing off for that long time, but it was a bit hecktic over here.I actually like that they continue to update the rosters of the game, even though that raises a question for me.Let's say that a team drafts a promising player and uses him in a game, but the player wasn't there the last few years, how would the modders get the player name into the play by play commentary for the game?Would they just take the file from the newly released NHL game or how do they do that.Also, are they focusing just on the NHL, or are they updating for example the DEL league? Cause when I look in to the team, I still have the Hamburg freezers, even though they left after the last season due to reasons that are unknown to me.Maybe, ffor those who are still interested in that game, and are not interested to look through all of this topic, you maybe could write a guide on how to set up the game, play it and maybe some playing tips, that's ju

Fortune's fronteer and dmnb source are both gone from what I can tell and danny was always the only one who had access to them. So bringing any of these games back wouldn't be easy as they would need to be completely rewritten. But anyway, I would find it very disrespectful if say aprone decided to remake it, and then you needed a caldobsky account for the online mode, as in dmnb the online mode was free and this was going to be the same in ff. I don't even know if someone should recreate it in the first place, because its still danny's game and he should voice his opinion about the recreation before anything happened. With that out of the way, if people want a space game, they can program one in python, which is what ff was programmed in or pb which is what dmnb was made in. Or even bgt for that matter, the downside with bgt verses python is you can't have the badass environmental effects that the dm games had, I'm not sure it supports the tolk libra
 ry for screen readers and it is just plain a lacking language so the new game wouldn't reach its full potential with bgt. Sure it would be awesome, but it could never get as awesome as ff was right before danny quit it. Or we could all just forget about this dm and ff business and play cosmic rage...

Hosting servers is, complicated. The default port 2500 is fine, but you need to forward the port manually in your router, or your router should have upnp enabled. Since upnp can be a security risk, it is disabled on most routers.

Bringing this thread back, just in case anyone didn't know about this game.I didn't think I liked card games much at all, but I kept hearing good things about Lost Cities, so I gave it a try.A couple of questions.Does anyone know descriptions of the four automated characters?Also, any ideas about the graphics on the cards? I read somewhere that they are really pretty, so I was just wondering what they were.I love the game, but it makes me . SO . MAD!Probably 50% of the time, I'll play a card, say a 7 for example, and the next card I draw will be a 6.It's almost as if the game is programmed to frustrate you. Heheheheheh.Anyway, it's a nice way to pass the time.

I have collected five ritual cards so far, and it looks like there will be at least one more.These are the rituals I know; fire, egg, spells, time travel, and cultI have created a few obsidian dragons, but it looks like there are even more types than that, so . . . still going.I'll say this for the game.It may not have a lot of depth, but for $1.99, it has given me many hours of gameplay.
