oh boy, well of course I gotta respond on here, i'll do this point by point with some thoughts at the end.@shellman first, nothing has happened since june, well your time line is broken, in september the caves and the twin peeks mountains came out. along with a pretty damn big quest chain. correct me if i'm wrong, but that was something completely new and completely different than anything else in the game. people still haven't found all the places to go in the caves.@shellman you message sam and he doesn't reply. please try to guess how many people are on sam's contact list, and how many of them also message him non stop about their issues in the game. now try to understand how much junk he has to pilfer through on skype. also realize how many people constantly suggest hings they think is the next big stw major suggestion that will make the game amazing. but sam doesn't reply, well most the time that is because it is already something t
 hat is being planned out and worked on.@shellman building tree houses was banned, yes, but let's think why. you fall from the mountain, so open your inventory and drop a plank, you are floating in air and don't lose much health or anything like that. then continue on your way. every time you fall just drop a plank, you're safe. it is not taken out of the game forever, i've had discussions with sam on how he will bring it back so it works in a different way. just about everyone misses the ability to build tree houses with planks and blocks. and if i remember right you weren't too hapy when you got stuck in a block trap turned on pk and got grenaded nearly to death before you could log out, so it's a double edged sword i suppose.@shellman dropping grass in the ocean to put a shelter, aside from it being so completely unrealistic to be laughable, think of how people used that to chat? drop planks grass mud whatever in the ocean and it's 
 a walkable and a bikable tile. so people would do that and just bike across the ocean. or drop them and a new player would be paddeling and get stuck on a random mud tile in the middle of the ocean, and have no clue why they can no longer paddle anymore or anything.@Muhammad Hajjar you can still place a normal shelter in a tree, he is talking about using planks in air to make tree houses, not shelters.@shellman cocoa already mentioned it with pk. someone once again cheats, they drop a block tile, stand on it and no one can hit them in pk while they can still hit people. again it is not gone forever, but only gone until sam can fix the issue and make sure people can't cheat with it. also talked to him about this issue.@shellman if you think i made a shelter that took 3 days writing out map lines for myself you have lost your mind. why did i do it, why did akilor do it, not for our own sakes, but to give the players something new. you want to talk shit about 
 the admins, the very damn admins that are doing everything in our power to keep the game interesting when sam is busy and can't release an update? yes this is a great thing to do, keep doing it and see where it gets everyone. if you had the slightest clue how much we have been doing lately for the players, for those who complain about the game, you would be in shock. you have no clue how many hours are spent every day working on stuff for the game that will be coming out fairly soon. but i will just leave it at that.@shellman i have no clue at all what you mean can't place stuff in shelters.@shellman and at everyone, pk was meant as a way to play the game, not for those who want to hit someone and run like hell cause they have 500k energy and turn off their pk. you turn it on, you are making a choice to play the game with pk, to kill and be killed the funny thing about it is the only ones who complain are those who can't do pk at all, and who want to hit
  and run. those who have spent hours, days, weeks, months learning how to fight effectively have not said one single thing complaining about it. that should say it all.@shellman many people hav left the game, i see, so there was not 70 players online for the past 2 days, yep good thing so many left, cause incase you forgot, a year ago you were lucky to see over 35 players online. so let's just shelve that cause it is nothing but a lie and missinformation. there are more players on stw lately then there have ever been, and don't forget, allot of people have left got banned cause they had been cheating like hell and never got caught which leads me into my next point.@shellman you want to talk about the admins, and the old admins, this is just beautiful. let's i assume you mean people like naday, walter, rowan, bill, blaze, mariah. well with walter, yes everyone loved walter, but tell me 1 thing, just 1 single thing, what did he do for the game? he loved to

I'm not sure if it's my browser which converts the text into something strange. I have no clue on what I'm doing wrong.So, if I get this example to work, how do I switch to the place in the Inform7 compiler where I can enter the look command, and how do I read the output from the game?I think I'll be able to understand most of the tutorial if I just get the basics to get started.

The first one was far beyond 2016, Akilor won it. And then in 2017 before less than a month, a competition. And now again a PK competition. So there is activity, there is creativity, yeah all of that exist already. //The previous update with something new was in June 2016 (including new maps and quests).//After that nothing has happened in STW.- The previous update was in 2017 and in less than 2 months. But it didn't have so much than a beautiful serverchange, and lag fixes as it seemed to me. At leest there are no many random kicks, or usual speedhacks. Who knows what is Sam planning for. Who knows what is beyond all this absence. Who knows when a map will be out, or an update, so you got to be patient, and not just put the blame on Sam, development, or admins, for not having something generally new for players.//That is already almost one year ago. I've sent many suggestions to Samtupy but it is very hard to get any reply from him.- Sam replies, but only to certain suggestions. I tried that and I am currently player like you, so not saying things that I didn't experience. What Sam removed wasn't everything out of the world. //Why in Earth do you want to ban and block and prevent all the creativity from players and allow it only for the admins?//They can make special shelters  and that has been the only interesting thing in STW in last months.- What admins do is not only for themselves, they did not put a shelter in a private map to prevent players from accessing it, instead they make shelters to let people enjoy them until something new is out. I might just have said take a vacuum to the vent ports, if it had any, like not the bottom brush part obviously, the hose, but then you said about kernel process taking 200%. yeah dunno.

Oh. Inform 7? Let's see here. I would have to look through my projects to find something. The manual is quite terrible sometimes. There are way too many times of having to play with things until something works, but it is usable. I also dislike the interpreter it uses, but there are ways of doing things. You might be able to export the project as a completed project and run on a good interpreter, but that's a usually undesirable process, i'd imagine. I wonder if there is a screen reader addon for just such an occation. In any case, by default, it compiles in the right tab which would be the story pannel. I do dislike the interface. So long as the right panel has focus, you should be able to write to it. Don't worry, the story panel is one of my biggest complaints about the software. It works, but not as one would like. Though the manual has a learning curve, if you are using the most recent version, things should work as expected. Feel free to ask any questions
  if you are having trouble. It's been a while since I've worked with the software, but I can write examples that should showcase certain concepts. just remember to always create a room before you do anything else.

Increased Fan Activity on my Mac, please Help

Hi all,I'm having a really strange problem with my 2013 MacBook Air. About 5 or 6 hours ago, the fan cranked up to what sounds like maximum speed. Thinking it was just an issue in my current session, I rebooted the machine. As soon as it turned on and the chime played, the fan whirred up once again. I noticed that the system was extremely sluggish. When I looked in Activity Monitor, it said that kernal_process was using something like 200% of the CPU. Activity Monitor also reported that about 60% of my CPU was in use. I thought that was really odd considering I wasn't doing anything intensive and macOS is usually pretty good at regulating the hardware. I tried to reset the NVRAM and SMC, but that didn't seem to help. Maybe I'm not doing something right? I held control option and shift while the machine was off for about 10 or 20 seconds. I also held those keys down along with power for about 10 or 20 seconds. Still, it did no good.Having concluded
  it was something wierd in the software, I decided to do a clean install. When I booted from the install drive I have, the fan immediately kicked into gear. It also took about 2 hours to get the system installed which I found very odd. Now, I'm back at the Setup Assistant and the fan is still running at top speed. What's going on? Is my hardware failing? THe system still seems to be a little sluggish. What else can I do besides take the computer to an Apple Store or contact Apple Support?

the actual reason for the touhou instruments being compatible with ym2612 is because of tecnical similarities. both chips are nearly Identical, the only difference is that the 2608 chip has a different dac and an internal psg based on ym2149 (rebranded version of ay8910 as found in some arcade games and on various western computers among others), neither of which are present on the 2612.

I also don't see the option to get rid of the ads. Unfortunately, it appears that I spoke too soon in a previous post, because the ads have also become quite unmanageable for me at the moment. Once the ad finishes playing, I hear Voiceover say that my boost is active. But then it seems to freeze, and any time I touch anywhere on the screen, the app store launches, presumably so that I can buy whatever game or app is being advertised in the ad that played. The problem is, there's no way to break this cycle once it starts. You need to exit the game, then relaunch it, and start fresh in order for that screen to disappear.However, I am amazed at the improvements to the responsiveness to the game in general. Not only is it much easier and faster to swipe through menus now, the swipe up and down gestures work beautifully, so I can switch between production slots, both in the actual places where things are produced and in the city to sell them, with ease. Plus, being abl
 e to swipe down in the main screen to go to the estate was quite a nice touch, particularly when treasure chests are around. Although with the improvements in speed, this really isn't even an issue anymore. So all in all, I'd say this update was a success. I'd just like to figure out what's going on with the ads.

Well, I can see Sam's point of fixing the glitch that allowed people to build shelters in the ocean and in the air and even the gift shop, but not on trees -- why not trees? Firstly it's both realistic and intelligent to build up there, and second it's more intelligent, and amusing, to cut down the tree containing someone's shelter. I'm not sure if that would cause it to smash to the ground because I haven't played in the longest time, but that is an amusing idea, imo.Still, I don't agree with admins having all of the power they do now. Ban, lifting a ban, kicking, and other security related stuff I can understand. But moving players to different maps, spawning disasters, and whatever else, no. That is one of the reasons I don't go near mud games; the admins there can do many things to tweak the game play for regular players. If Survive the Wild is to be realistic, admins should not be able to do these things.

Guys, just try to move along. He's abusing power right now but if you just stop playing his games, he'll realize that he needs to change his tactics pretty quick. I do agree though, this game is called survive the wild, and nobody's stoping you from building tree houses in the wild. The last post I made was intended to be sarcastic, and so far, only 1 person actually thought I meant it. As for him doing this scam overSkype, I really don't see what the problem is, it's pretty much the same as e-mail. You can get scammed just as easy because someone could delete e-mails from their sent folder and claim that they never said anything about that. The only difference is that on Skype, you can remove a message and it'll say, "this message has been removed," which personally I think is more secure, because anyone can see that the person removed the message.

Granted, you have the ability to draft evil laws, which could be lots of fun, but probably don't suit his character, but I couldn't figure out where to tweak his alignment. So yeah, you're Stannis. Hence why you're on hard difficulty.One of the races was mutants, so I decided to make them the Riverlands and explain the transformation in their backstory. hello gamers! this topic was created for game tournaments that myself and a buddy of mine will be throwing at least once a month in fighting games. all tournaments will have a mixture of visually impaired gamers and sighted gamers. all tournaments will have all players with the same skill level, for example, in a sfv tournament you wont be seeing gold and platinum players in it, everyone will be pretty much a bronze. same thing goes for mkx, injustice, tekken7, or any other fighting game. all tournaments will have a winners bracket and losers. depending on how big a tournament is, it may be split into two days. all tournaments will be streamed. all tournaments will pretty much follow regular tournament standard rules with some possible adjustments. and lastly all tournaments will have prizes for first second and third place, and and the prizes will vary from game to game. if you have any game suggestions that you want a tournament for, questions, or even if you want to post up a t

DynaMan was next on my list of games to get running under wine. Sadly I met with less success than with Pinball Classic. It starts, plays for a while, then crashes with an exception. This doesn't occur on my XP VM. Shame, dammit.I actually think DynaMan was one of ESP's simpler and more enjoyable works. Yes, it's basically a revamped PacMan, but so what? It's still plenty exciting for me, even with the power-ups in the corners. The game does have an ending, but it's very far off and I always play in hard mode, with walking and scanning speeds cranked up to maximum. And while the spark brothers could surely use a bit more intelligence--enough to avoid as well as to menace--they, and the circuits, and the coils, and the twisty passages all alike, and the generally fast-paced nature of the game all work for me. At any rate, it's just the thing for testing your reflexes after you've come home from the pub. I found the object navigation a little bit easier in SOD than in Monkey Business, but not markedly so. I imagine it actually had more to do with the tone itself (a feeble solo beep rather than a pronounced two-tone pulse) than the actual method of object detection and navigation. I've never liked the Swamp approach, mostly because I found myself thinking too hard just to navigate relatively successfully. It's always going to be a tough problem, in stereo at least, but SOD probably got it about right for me.I could maybe come to love virtual machines more in the pursuit of gaming, but really there's nothing like just typing Pinball into Spotlight and it runs just like a native app, with remarkable speed. SLJ, if you're a registered user, I'd be happy to send you an app bundle so you can see how it feels for yourself with Pinball. You might even change your mind about it.  At any rate, try using a USB sound card with a VM, as that's the closest you'll get without the VM sound overhead.Alien Outback I found probably to be the most conventional of the lot. But at least it had flare, and the bonus rounds were always fun to play (I'd love to play those standalone).Nice recordings. You're right, they aren't that different at all. But I do still prefer the original, for the flare. It's not enough to make a fuss about though.I usually play the tables in "insane" mode.

Here's a rough idea for you:Create a map class that:*holds a two dimentional array with enough space to store a number for each tile which will exist in your map. So if your map is 100 by 100 squares, then you'll create an array of 100 arrays, each containing space for 100 integers representing what is found at that location (wall, grass, stone, etc).*A method which can tell a player, npc, enemy or other actor class whether or not it's possible to walk on the requested square. For example: if(map.getTile(x, y) != WALL) stepTo(x, y);*A method which can save the contents of the arrays to a file. This is one of the tricky parts but it can be handled in a few different ways. You can use BGT's dictionary and serialize/deserialize functions to do a lot of the heavy lifting, which will be fast but it'll output rather large map files unless you can get creative with how to represent your data (I'd just get something working first befor
 e you worry about this).*A method which can load the saved data back into the arrays in the exact same way it was originally stored.As it sounds like you're just starting out with BGT, remember as you learn that programming is really about taking large problems (like how do I create a map) and breaking them down into many, very small sub-problems.To give a real world but simple example: lets say the (big) problem we want to solve is, how do I eat a slice of pizza? Now let's break it down into smaller steps:*Lift hands.*Locate plate which contains pizza (which in itself could be broken down into many steps).*Move hands to previously discovered location.*Lower hands until they touch plate.*Grasp hands around pizza.*Lift hands again.*Move hands to location of mouth.*Open mouth.*Use teath to grasp pizza.*bite.*open and close jaw until pizza is reduced to tiny pieces.*swallow.*repeat

Hi.I'm giving Inform7 a try, and I have a few questions:1. Do you have some small simple examples which actually works in the compiler? I have no idea on what I'm doing wrong, but the simple examples from the manual gives me lots of errors, even when I'm copying the examples directly from the manual. So for this reason, I find it difficult to get started.2. What tab is used to read the output for the game when running it from the compiler by pressing f5? Copying it to the same folder as your script is one way yes. Another method would be to install OpenAL on your system, though that takes a bit of effort to setup properly. If you plan on distributing your script it may be a good idea to include the OpenAL32.dll with it in case the users don't have OpenAL installed.First you would need to install [OpenAL], then download [OpenAL Soft]. Then follow the instructions in the OpenAL Soft archive to rename and copy over the required files.

Hey thereWell I do agree at some points and don't at some. In short, it's true that setting up a shelter on oceans, watery areas, grounds that aren't possible to set up shelters on and even on the air is really fun, I always do this I've even placed my shelter inside the gift shop  but don't you think that such things are closer to being them a glitch?  t makes me stop officially playing Mason and Sam's games, admins are the lords, they're distinguished from the rest of the players by the goodies they own, and the powerful capabilities they have, which makes them, honestly, the game's world's lords, and the players' enslavers. Ok, make them can ban, unban since this is their job, but why adminguns, teleport, disasters, the ability to make special items, and lots and lots of other things that I don't remember currently. That's why I've stoped playing the game, and looking for the possibility to sell my stuff if anybody wants to buy.

@Burak You don't need to activate the builder, just press P in a map you're allowed to contribute to.@crashmaster in fact, you can now use the /suicide command at any time, or else you could type /changemap then the name of a map you're allowed to edit. This can be useful if a map doesn't have a travel point to main, but the suicide command does it quicker whenever you're stuck.

Many players have left but still many new players are coming. It is hard to persuade old players to play the game because, simply it's not as fun as before, yeah, with so many restrictions, you feel like your every step are being watched. I remembered when the time where the admins will just warn you and ban you after 1 second without even the time to read the warning lol. The last update we had in a while contain only new server and additional 200 mb in storage space, no new content. The player frustration is understandable.

Hello all,Well, I can't resist any longer and watch all that crap what is going on in STW now quietly.I've been playing Survive the Wild for about 1,5 years now.First I thought this game is really cool with lots of things to explore and do.But after completing all the quests and collecting all the items, I've been waiting for something new.The previous update with something new was in June 2016 (including new maps and quests).After that nothing has happened in STW.That is already almost one year ago. I've sent many suggestions to Samtupy but it is very hard to get any reply from him.And the most annoying and disgusting thing started already a long time ago.In every update there have been more and more restrictions for the players.NO! I am not talking about cheating!First, building tree houses was banned. If you think it was cheating, ok, but that is not my opinion.There was nothing bad in 
 that you could build a small houses from planks at top of the trees.Then, making walls using blocks and weeds was blocked.And now, you can't even put a grass tile in the ocean to put your shelter there.All the creativity is blocked from players, and that is really annoying.Disgusting!One question: Why? Why? Why? Why?Why in Earth do you want to ban and block and prevent all the creativity from players and allow it only for the admins?They can make special shelters  and that has been the only interesting thing in STW in last months.But even there there are some stupid rules, that you are not allowed to put even a single item inside the shelter.Each time when I ask, I get different answers and reasons why these changes were made, if I even get any answers at all...All the changes have made this game more like Survive the pk than Survive the wild.Now, if you turn on your pk, you need to wait for a ridiculous tim

If you want to get speech out of the Pi, check out http://www.raspberryvi.org. You can find an image that has speech on startup. If you only need ssh access, I’d download a standard image and add a file to the root of the SD cart with the name ssh and no extention. For how to create this file and how to flash the images google has fairly easy tutorials. Hope this helps.
