@Thatguy three pounds of minced beef? That must be hge! We used a kilo of mince, (roughly half that if google is right on convertion), and that will give both of us two pretty good meals.I never like reheating take away if I can help it, pizza either goes rubbery or dry in my experience and loses flavour, ditto with most meet items. Indeed, we have an arrangement with our really nice local pizza and kebab place, where instead of giving us an extra free 10 inch garlic bread, which neither of  ever has room for,  just knock a couple of quid off the bill instead. This is  better since the garlic bread just doesn't reheat well at all.On the other hand generally any kind of stew or soup, chilly, different sorts of curry etc always seem to do well when reheated. I believe  it has something to do with the settling of the ingredients, and some professional chefs will even make chilly, gumbo etc and then reheat just for the extra flavour. Today I need to go shopping. One of the few saving graces of going shopping is that I get to go out for brunch. I'll probably head to  Faux american diner I mentioned and get one of their crispy sweet chilly chicken wraps, or maybe some pancakes. They actually make an amazing chilly, which I've had on its own before, but its  pretty big meal for the middle of the day, though they also make some very nice chillydogs too. In addition, they have the most wonderful rocky road cake as well. This was a relief, since  where I used to live in Durham there was an amazing little sandwich place called the picnic basket who also did the most amazing cakes, and I've been missing their rocky road. The rocky road at the american diner is not the same as the one in Durham, it has more coco  pouder and less toffee but  its really nice all the same. Sadly tea today will probably be something fairly small since we had the chily last night, likely just a quick microwave meal. These are okay if you firstly buy the right brand, since quality can vary hugely, and secondly if your not overly hungry, since whoever decides the portion sizes for those things isn't exactly generous, even for my wife who is tiny, but if I go and get something nice for brunch that should do quite well for dinner.

Coencidentally, I had chili as well. It contained a packet of regular chili powder and a packet of extra-spicy, 3 pounds of ground beef, noodles, tomato juice, onions, and lots more I can't remember. It was actually prepared yesterday and warmed up again today while the onion was chopped up and added, and it was quite amazing. Speaking of that, has anyone else noticed that chili tastes way better the day after, or is that just me? Also, while we're on the topic of  things tasting good the day after, and several days after, in fact, what foods have you guys noticed that don't have the consistency of rubber and actually taste just as well, if not better, than they did when originally cooked? I've seen that pizza always tastes more or less the same when you warm it up, and any fast food, especially fries, taste like packing peanuts. But what about you all?

Well I just made a rather amusing mistake. I'd got to zone 41 and was missing some coordination upgrades, so decided to invest in some wormholes. I'm always careful about buying wormholes since they cost helium, so haves checked the price carefully and only bought them when say I was unable to keep up with coordination upgrades, I bought two on my last run to zone 41. So, there I was at zone 41 wthree ith wormholes, intending that this time around I get at least to zone 50. I purchase wormhole number 4, distribute all the jobs, using the clickables to change amount to 100, then 25 and then 10. I then think another wormhole would be useful, and completely forget that my quantity is still set at 10 . So, suddenly I have 15 wormholes!This was not an access issue, this was a "dark is too lazy to check amounts issue", though Green satellite might consider listing the helium cost in the wormholes confirmation popup just in case some dope like me happens to forget  read the prices before clicking and saying "yes its okay" At least it wasn't set at 100. On the plus side, my trimps are now slaughtering along merrily thanks to being able to get all of the vii upgrades, and it won't take half as long as I thought to get the next set.Of course, this now means I'm pretty much bound to get to zone 50, maybe even more, actually it would be cool to get to zone 60 if I can, but whether my new hoards of workers can keep up with upgrade costs we will have to see .

Please define the word "happenin?" in this context, since outside music from the sixties and fifties I'm not exactly sure what you mean. there are plenty of muds with large player bases and regular updates, from Cosmic rage to alteraeon, in genres from scifi to fantasy, with themes from heavy rp enforced mmorpgs to kill fests. Even in those muds that don't have as large community influences, there are still plenty like Erion and Frandum that have regular updates too, and likely others out there like godwars that  have regular updates but people play anyway . So, unless your looking for a fifties or sixties mud with classes such as mod, rocker, daddio and square, you probably better define "happenin?" a bit more strictly.

Hi.I saw someone on Twitter mentioning that the licens agreement for the beta clearly says that streaming is not allowed.I really don't like to say that and I'm not trying to make anything bad by saying this. But did you actually knew that?If the licens agreement for the beta is only shown directly in the game and OCR doesn't read that well, then we as blind gamers haven't had much a chance to get that information without having someone to tell us.I don't hope someone will get banned for posting the great videos demonstrating the menu narration.

I use a program called video to video converter.It's probably overkill for what you want, but it not only extracts the audio and converts to mp3, it also converts to quite alot of other formats as well.

Hi.I'm not sure if this helps, but here is something you can try:There is an update for Windows 10, which randomly change the sound settings. It set the sounds to 5.1 surround instead of stereo. that messed up my Swamp game so badly that there were no sounds at all accept for the menu sounds. But I have not seen the other issues you are mentioning.You could try to check your sound settings to see if it is set to 5.1 surround sound instead of stereo. Set it back to stereo and see if it solves your issues.

I'm a little confused about how your source is gone due to a windows update.  Windows update should not be deleting any personal files.  I've seen it do some weird things, and as a rule I'm not a fan of it, but I have never seen it just remove personal files.  All of that being said, this is why I am very, very much a fan of backups.  I'm working on some coding stuff myself, and that stuff is in 3 different places.  My PC, an external drive, and Dropbox.

Hi.I'm not the right person to ask when it comes to Killer Instinct. But in generel regarding fighting games, you can train yourself to be as good as sighted gamers. It does take extremely much patience and it is much harder for us to get used to the games.First we need to learn the sounds in the game, learn all the basics regarding combat etc. Then we need to learn the difference between the short range combos and the long range combos. I mean, to get as good as sighted gamers, we need to know the distance between you and the enemy which is mostly done by listening for the sounds. This is important because sighted gamers are constantly using their sight to check the distance.So, if you really have the patience to learn all that, then you can train yourself to be as good as sighted gamers. I haven't had the patience to do that. I was quite good at Mortal Kombat Deception for ps2 then I had a sighted gamer to play with. He was really good at describing things, which made it easier for me to get an idea on what was going on. He told me what I was doing wrong which he used against me, so he kind of trained me without knowing.

It would have replay value, if it was finished. As I said in one of the posts, it's not complete and never will be unless I rewrite it from the beginning. That might happen, I do still have the sounds which was the hardest part. The thing that's keeping me from rewriting it is that I have a job, and I'll be taking college classes soon, which obviously takes priority over game development. It was originally going to be much, much more than what it is now. Actually, if you guys have anything you want me to put in it if I rewrite it, that would be good to know. Example: make certain places longer, or this boss was way too hard and needs to be more difficult.

Hi.No more introductions should be needed by now.The gdc is about.So this is about to.https://sonniss.com/gameaudiogdc19/I am sure most of us on here are seasoned vetterans to know what the heck this is.To the rest of you it will explain what it is about anyway, but its there, another 25gb of stuff to transfer to your gdc collections.For those with gdc collections, I have noticed that a lot of stuff in the collections are mostly the same from the 2015-16 mark onward but just see what you get, the packs never grow that much once you have them but its good to refresh them anyway.The easiest way to get them is via ftp if you have a fast connection and an ftp client, let the files grind on and see what they do.I have fibre, so this stuff shouldn't take much more than an hour to get all of it.

It will always depend on how the whole map structure is designed and programmed. I most of the time will use a 2D array (or nested lists as in python) to represent a map, each entry will be a tile you can step on. That of course is only cool as long as the maps don't become too large, because thousands and thousands of living objects within a 2D array will take up a good amount of space which doesn't actually need to be there, it always depends on your need. Now imagine me wanting to know if there is a wall left of me, thus checking the x-axis to the left from the player's current position, and how far left it is from me. Imagine python code like this:player_x = 5
player_y = 2
# imagine there is a wall 2 tiles away from me to the left, so at x = 3
distance = 0
i = player_x # we don't need to check all tiles further right, because we're checking for the left wall
for i in range(player_x, -1, -1):
  # we need to assume you know any way of type checking, like checking if objects are of the same kind, or adding a Type property to it or whatever, so just imagine this check getting applied in the if below
  if map[i][player_y] is Wall:
distance = player_x - i
breakIn this case, distance would tell you the tiles to reach the wall. If it's zero, no wall could be found left from you. If you're now designing a radar, you'd like to implement a limit, as the radar will probably only check like 10 tiles from your current position, so you don't need to look further left than 10 tiles. Thats pretty easily done by adjusting the for loop:radar_range = 10

So as someone who has played mainstream games since I was a kid, I can absolutely say that killer instinct is a fantastic game. The audio design is nearly unmatched, possibly only beat by the newer nether realm studios games. The main problem we would have in killer instinct is knowing when to finish a combo before it breaks, which is entirely solved by the meter sound. I know some blind players have had good luck online. I'm not the right person to ask about which characters are best, I'm about as casual as it gets in a lot of fighters. But jago is probably a good starting character. My other favorite character at the moment is fullgore, just because I'm a sucker for big laser wielding robots of death.

So if anybody played Manamon or Paladin of the sky, they'd be familiar with this concept. For anybody who hasn't, here's a brief rundown.When moving around, you'd hear tones in relationship to your character. Those tones represent walls, and made it hell of a lot easier for you to find your way through the mazes. I'm not gonna attempt building something like that, no. However, I was always wondering how did that happen. How did the computer know whenever I was near a wall?As I learned python, that question became much less mysterious, and so here's my take on it, at least on paper.First of all, I'm assuming that my map is a dictionary. @638,Getting the sound pack to work in VIP isn't massively difficult.  Download the Zip file and extract it.  Once extracted, You should see a folder called sounds.  Go into that folder, select all the files with control a, then copy with control C.  Now, go to your VIP mud folder in documents at c:\users\username\documents\VIPMud, enter that, and enter the sounds folder there.  Once inside sounds, paste the files from the sound pack with control v, and answer yes to replacing files if you are prompted.  Next, go back to your extracted zip file for the sound pack.  You should see some files ending in .set.  Copy those.  Go back to the VIPMud folder in documents, and inside you should see a folder called cosmic rage.  Go into this folder and paste the previously copied set files.  There ya go, pack installed.

Thanks for this detailed response. Glad to know that OpenAL was up to the task of rendering something like AHC.I'm positive I'm not creating a new buffer for every source. I spent several days battling with making Amethyst's asset-loader return audio assets as OpenAL buffers. My suspicion is that I'm hitting the source limit, and the message about running out of memory is a red herring that could be made clearer.Anyhow, I'll look into streaming, as I'll certainly need that for music. ok firstly with the whole coords thing:1. you need navigation software. purchase at equipment docks. there's 1 in argon prime.2. activate command console. shift c.3. go to havigation. should be the top one.4. near to the bottom of the navigation menu i can't remember how far up from the bottom 3 or 4 arrow presses (i think) is the coords option. hit enter.5.type a set of coords as follows. 5000, 0, 5000 hit enter and you should be on your way to the in system coords.as for goals, well the beauty of this game is that you can start in any way you can. what i did was to maximise my cargo bay of the murcury. speed and rudder optimisation. then start trading. what i did next is to start moving about into space belonging to other races. such as the borons and the paranid. the borons have a really good super freighter that when fully upgraded can give you a cargo bay of 14000 units. the paranid food stuffs are excellent for trading. you'll see what systems i mean but i'll point you at empires edge dukes domain. once i got that ship and fully upgraded it i then started to invest in factories. now because stations get swapped in and out of the game regularly, it gets a little more difficult to tell you where to place factories but i can say that argon weet farms make good profits multiple races will buy from them and they will help with your race relations overall.now i have 4 factories, ore mine, silicon mine, weet farm and cahoona bakery. i also have an argon eclipse protecting me wherever i fly. armed with 8 HEPTS at the front, can't remember what weapons i have on my rear and front turret respectively. so i feel quite safe at the moment. i have 5x 25jg shields on my ts transporter and 1 200jg shields on my eclipse. so really in the first instance it's up to you what direction you wish to take however my next target is to go for a tl class transporter. that for me is going to be a boron orka. i need to check the stats on that but from what i remember it's the fastest of the tl's and the one that can carry the most cargo.

Killer Instinct and Other Fighting Game Viability

Hi all,I'm looking especially to those of you who have extensive experience with fighting games in the mainstream, Killer Instinct in particular. I have listened to some gameplay and have done some looking, and I see there's a lot of accessibility stuff that's made gameplay relatively possible for us.My question, though, is this: just how much does it work? How much issue in this game in particular would I have fumbling around? Is it the sort of thing where I might be able to, say, take down parts of story mode while I get utterly destroyed by any halfway competent sighted player, or if I put in the work, can I be at least maybe-sorta-kinda competitive?I don't like the idea of buying a game only to get, like 18% of it, which is why I've stepped away from the pokemon franchise. I don't need to have every tiny little thing, but the more that's workable or straight-up accessible, the better.Also, in the event that KI is in fact fairly accessible, do I need an enormous stick? I'm actually really freaking fast when it comes to using, say, a PS4-style controller with directional button inputs and whatnot (I used to be insanely good at Killer Instinct Gold, just as one example), but there comes a point where buying a ton of kit becomes prohibitive. I don't have an Xbox, would probably be going for PC at this point. Beyond that, are there any particularly easy-to-use or any particularly hard-to-use or hard-to-deal-with characters I need to learn?I don't know if any of you will respond and have the chops to help. If you don't, I guess this'll get buried...but hey, I might strike lucky.

You could always use a full container environment, using something like LXC, systemd-nspawn, or docker, but I'd be very careful with those (and containers aren't really "contained").No matter what your using though, do not ever consider your solution 'completely secure'. Remember that there are ways to break out of achroot, there are ways to break out of a jail, and there are ways to break out of a container. I'd recommend a container/LXC for a form of isolation, though if you want absolute isolation, use a KVM.

Okay, one problem I see right away is that the Mush-client pack download from your site's soundpack page in the Cosmic Rage section leads to a Dropbox 404. Rant ahead, but know that this isn't against the MUD, it's just how things happen I guess, and I will be trying the MUD, with one of the given soundpacks of course:I know VIP Mud is great and all, and if you install Mush-client directly and set things up one by one it is complicated, but see the Unofficial Squarsoft MUD's sound pack to see how easy it can be, just download, unzip, run mushclient.exe and you're ready to go. Contrast that with VIP Mud's thing, copy this here, that there, run vipmud, configure this to that. Really, it's the opposite. The commercial client makes things more complicated, by being commercial, so no one can really make a pack, just instructions that have to be loaded into a client. But what do I know, VIP Mud must be easy to build for, plop in a sound, a line of text to match it to, and there you go I guess.Edit: Just tried out both sound packs for VIP Mud2. Sierra's pack hasn't been updated since 2018, June something. If it has been, that newer version hasn't made it to the site, and might as well not exist for new players. In the Readme, there is no info on how to even start using the pack or logging in. For me, that makes the pack useless as I have little prior knowledge of VIP MUD, with its laughable UI with its unlabeled edit boxes for character name and whatever else. Ugh, that's the most angering thing I've ever seen, a program made for the blind, having edit boxes that aren't labeled so that they can be read by screen readers. And don't give any excuses of "just use sapi for UI". No, that's just inaccessibility. Snap's soundpack didn't come with a Readme, changelog, installer, or anything. I have no idea what to do with the thing. Very unprofessional, even for a community effort. "but oh just find these people on Twitter or CR and they'll give instructions." Do you think a new player would put in the time to do that? Heck no. I almost quit the Unofficial Squaresoft MUD because I have the set freaking aliases for skills when they could just do fuzzy matching like Alter Aeon seems to do. But I still don't know what to do with these packs, so I may not play the game again until these huge barriers for entry are solved.So yeah, I'd just remove the link to the Mush-client pack, and just say the blind player will need VIP Mud, a commercial, $30 client, to enjoy Cosmic Rage at its best. And please put in that Tintin++ is a good client for Mac and Linux users in the list of clients. See, there are lots of successful developers out there on the forum, maybe they also have a few problems but not this kind. I also have a friend who should change a bit, and i know how hard it is, even to get out of a small problem. So i can understand your point. Hi.Here is some feedback:When you release something, you should make sure your links works. The link to the sound file in post does not work, so people are not getting any impressions at all before they download and try the thing for themself.The idea is great, but practically it doesn't work for me. I created a sound. When the generator said it was done, I pressed S to play the sound, but no sound was played at all.I then tried to use the pack creator. I didn't found any browse button, and I would just use the sound file in the sounds folder as a test. I was too lasy to type in the full path, and find it not very user friendly, that you have to type in the full path, when putting the sounds in the folder, which comes with the pack creator.So I'm sorry to say that, but the generator is currently useless to me. I'm not sure on what I'm doing wrong, since it won't work for me. No errors etc.One question: The generator is named rory, like rory games, your profile name. But in the readme, it says it is made by something called Blind tech. Sorry, but that sounds confusing to me. Who have actually made this, and why those two different names?

Hi. Since a few days i have a strange problem with my sound. If i start an aplication that was not on my comp before, it always is on volume 100 percent even if the system volume is only 50 or so, and also the login screen and user managemend warnings and so are jut extremely loud. Is there a way to reset all the volumes and bring the system standart for everything back to normal? Thanks, simter.

I haven't checked play store yet, since I have it uninstalled and just use Yalp Store to get apps, so it's possible these are already on the list: Blind Droid Minesweeper, Seedship and Delight Games.I really recommend the last one, by the way. It is a collection of stories with choices, similar to the ones you can find at chooseyourstory.com. They're really well written, with plenty of plot twists, emotional moments and good humor. They don't have any huge branching, but the choices affect your stats and sometimes have a butterfly effect.I've found it perfectly accessible so far. The dev's very friendly and wouldn't mind fixing any mistakes found, though. Please note that I was lucky enough to get the full version in a giveaway. The free version should in theory be just as accessible though, but I'm not sure about the ads. But there are ways to remove those, such as Blokada or DNS66.Anyway, enough talking about this game's delightfulness. It's always cool to see features like this; might seem like a small step, but might just motivate someone to do something. It'll also make it easier for us to find more games we can play, so that's awesome!

agreed with @#3.I've updated my obs and I have found it more accessible then before.all the sources which you have added are shown in sources window, if you want to add some source, just press applications and hit add source.their are so many cool features which will improve your video and lyve stream quality like.game capture, window capture, display capture, web cam, ttext, colour, audio output, audio input, web capture, etc.and it is easy to add those sources, I am so much happy with latest obs.you should give it a try.

But it's very easy to read what I write as any number of things. I've had Ethin refer to my speech as over-political. I've had Liam joking and not-so-jokingly say my speech is flowery, among other things. Some say it's dense. Some say all the words I spew can be kind of daunting. Yet I bet if any of you sat down and actually had a jaw session with me, you'd probably have a different idea of me than those impressions I've put forward. And that's largely on me. I'm working on it, believe me. It is not all my fault or all my responsibility, but part of it is. I really believe that the polarization of the world is making it so people essentially gulp instead of tasting, the way they used to. Something twitches their instinct to resist or retaliate and they instantly go for it instead of contemplating. I try very hard not to do this, but none of us is perfect.
