Re: Questions about some of JAWS little quirks that puts me off

I'm in almost the exact same boat as black and white, long time lower level JAWS user, switched to NVDA for a few years, and now using JAWS's more advanced features with the latest version. For me I have problems with remembering all the non alphabetical commands (many of which could probably be removed anyway) how god awful slow skim reading is with any rule other than read first line/sentence of paragraph enabled, the quick settings having some weird priorities, how JAWS F3 for jump to previous item using find has a key conflict with virtual HTML viewer, how laptop commands aren't shown in help dialogs even when using laptop keyboard layout, spellcheck in Word doesn't show the actual context for the word in question, and how text analyzer is kinda cool but also kinda half baked, along with flex web not really needing to exist with all the browser add-ons that do the same thing better and the jump to next element quick commands being a thing.I like the virtual ribbons, the skim reader's ability to jump to color/style despite it's slowness as it's super useful in certain documents,  the text analyzer for what it is, the setting center search and JAWS command lookup, the OCR which is better than Window's 10's, the context sensitive help which almost always has something useful to say, , the valuable built in training materials, the heading level jumping, the control help messages which are allot more helpful than NVDA's in more complex control layouts, that window class switcher thing, and the virtual viewer which makes certain dialogs allot more usable, and it's way better support for certain office programs, particularly outlook.

What we need to do is to contact HB studios about the different accessibility things that should be added to the game. Here is their contact email address.i...@hb-studios.comRemember if one person reaches out that may not make a difference. However if all of us reach out then that would make a difference. So please contact them. Even if they don't add features in this game maybe they will add things in the next one.

If you listen carefully while pulling down slowly the left stick you can hear your player doing the motion of lifting up his or hers club.. As the tutorial teaches you it's all about getting the right swing motion by pulling down and pushing forward on the left stick. You've got to make sure you keep the stick straight while doing the down and up motion.Buttonss I have picked up on.Lb/l1. Enables you to go down your club selectionRb/r1. Allows you to go up your clubs. The purpose of going up and down a club is the select the right club to take your shot with us with each club it has a maximum distance that it can reach.X/Square button. This button enables you to switch the style of shot that you want to take like a chip shot.Y/TRIANGLE BUTTON.This button enables you to add more loft and height to your shot. Rt/r2. By holding this down will allow you to move the destination target on the map. R3/right stick. This analogue is how you would move your shots direction either to the   left or the right.D pad. Is how you would enable assisted guided lines. This is only handy if you have some vision otherwise it is obsolete.

Also, Heros is already up on the vault @keyIsFull, the search by date feature should allow you to see the files added on a specific date. Re: Do you feel excluded?

It may be true that we as blind people put more emphasis on driving than a sighted person does. In fact, the amount of complaining I've heard about gas prices and vehicle maintenence pretty much proves it, at least anecdotally. However, in my own case at least, I think I'm more sensitive to it because I'd love to drive just for its own sake. Now, if I'd been born sighted, I realize I might be singing a completely different tune, but I think that a lot of the frustration that some of us feel is legitimate, because we know what it's like to pay more for an uber trip than we would have done if we drove ourselves to the same destination, or deal with Paratransit and its flakiness, or use public transit out of necessity, although I realize that last one applies to many others as well. I guess it feels like more of a burden because a sighted person has the choice to drive or not drive, we don't. The sacrifices that they choose to make are theirs to own, but we don't get that same luxury.

@22, I've been able to figure out that X will change the type of shot (chip, flog, etcetera).  Don't ask I have no idea what this means at all.  Y will triggure the shot box.  so if you want to shoot the ball high up and get some air under it, press Y, move your aim stick (mine is right) up, press Y, take your shot.  I'm not sure about A and B, however.

Hello hanif, it's in a BT sync folder. Here is the key. BIVW6IZVBEMKU3FV6F3AUI7ZVM3R4NVURif you're new to this hole roms and emulators thing I think you should take a look, or rather listen, to the file called listen me and a nother one called how to set up your controles. This guides you to one of the emulators, it's called PCSX2. Gunna do more manual like things for emulators and stuf. O BTW this folder is updated with all possyble files so there is no nead to download anything elce.

Re: Do you feel excluded?

@Jayde,  I run into that problem with blind people as well, however in my case I confess my own irritation at  the situation is precisely because! I've made the effort. I was never allowed to get away with bad social skills growing up. I've had tea parties with Bishops and professors, I've attended academic conferences, I've performed on stage in front of two thousand people, been to music festivals and  and done one man shows. At university I was actually responsible for organising and presenting social events to visiting speakers.one of the first things I learned as a teenager which astonished me, is just how easy to learn social skills and that little known art of conversation are. What I'm now unfortunately finding, is that most people are not that interested in either, and once you've passed thirty and most people have either spawned or settled into their own social circles, what skills   you have don't matter in the least. I freely admit I probably see the situation as a bit more dire these days, having been brow beaten by my parents to move to a small town in 2017 where I know even fewer people than I did previously, and where it turns out there is literally  nothing beyond a lot of small pubs, old people and a mostly useless theatre, though it also doesn't help that my friends who are now at long disance have! indeed fallen off the map, usually because they've gone and procreated. We have started an actors workshop which is fun, even if we do have to go to my paren'ts very scummy home city to do it, but as is usual, while people are quite happy to interact during the workshop,  nobody shows any interest in interacting outside it.So  yes, I am rather resentful, but such is life, as I said, these days I'm coming rapidly to belief that most people are thoughtless goldfish and whatever effort you put in to actually  establishing anything like a connection with people, especially given the amount of time you have to work to get them past the "weerd blind person" syndrome, is likely to be wasted most of the time. of course you try again, since the alternative is sitting at home doing nothing, but each time you try and fail, its hahrder to muster the energy to bother trying further, indeed if it weren't for my lady I probably would've given up on other people entirely by now, heck even my lady I first met online.

Re: Thoughts about the thirteenth doctor

My dad would agree with you. he introduced me to Doctor who and bought me my first video, doctor who and the silurians as it happens when I was just nine. He actually  said the show now reminds him of pertwee era who, and since that's his favourite era of the show that's definitely high praise indeed.About stupidly complex plots, Amusingly enough, in a recent audio River song (who is a far more appealing character now they've got rid of all the flirty moff nonsense), actually said "sometimes I get confused about who I am" which seemed to be an admission from the writers . I disagree on Capaldy though, the frustrating thing there, is he actually had the potential! to be an interesting Doctor, being Scottish and grumpy and not just a bad David Tenant clone like poor mat smith (really no offense to the Actor but my god the writing of his character was crappy). the problem with Capaldy is everytime he tried to do something actually interesting or dark or doctorish, Miss Oswald basically told him off! It was as if Moffat, and the other writers working for him forgot the name of the show was Doctor who, not the Clara show, heck, they even went back to earth between stories turning the Doctor into basically a time space version of Uber! In a way, the belittling of the main character was almost worse than the convoluted plots (he who moans has a particularly scathing video on kill the moon).  I'd be interested to see if other writers could do a semi decent job with Capaldy's doctor now they're out from under moff's thumb, they managed it with River song which I didn't think was possible, but in general I don't think I'll be going back to rewatch the rest of season 9 or season 10 any time soon.

Re: break my spirit

Just to capitalize on a couple of examples:First, I'm in full agreement with the whole "illegals" thing. People are not illegal; actions can be. Call them undocumented immigrants. Call them people who immigrated illegally. They, as people, are not illegal. And for heaven's sake don't freaking call them aliens. When a word like "alien" means "extraterrestrial" or "something not of this world" in common parlance, using that term is just begging to be misunderstood.Second, the word "lame" has been sort of co-opted in the last fifty years or so to refer to things that suck, things that are uncool, things that don't work. "Oh, that is -sooo lame", and the like. This is one of the reasons why that word has gotten a bad rap when referring to someone who is unable to walk or use at least one leg. That being said, there does come a point where political correctness can get in the way, and a point where trying to enforce it just makes you sound shrill. I hear that and agree with it. I just don't think the answer is "let people say what they want", as appears to be your argument in your last post, Nocturnis. It is not an all-or-nothing gamble, and not all efforts to improve political correctness are bad just because they may ask us to change how we think of or express things. I do agree that some of them seem to be missing the point, however. My general angle on it is simple: if it costs me nothing to change the way I speak (not calling women girls or chicks, for instance), why shouldn't I do it? If changing my ways may help, and not doing so may hurt, then I feel it incumbent upon me as a person to help. And no, I don't hate all Trump supporters by default. I hate Trump himself and virtually everything he stands for, and I hope the last two years or so have taught America what it's like to live with a virtual child for a president. But people can be misguided. They can think things I find abhorrent are worth listening to, and they still have plenty of merit as human beings. I don't have to agree with you or even respect an opinion you hold in order to respect you as a person.

Thoughts about the thirteenth doctor

2019-05-22 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : Dark via Audiogames-reflector

Thoughts about the thirteenth doctor

As people probably already know, I'm a massive doctor who fan, I collect the big finish audios (or at least some of them), and can give you chapter and verse on most aspects of the whoniverse. Its been odd therefore that for the last few years, TV Doctor who has just not registered with me. I can some up the reason in two words, Steven Moffat! the  previous show runner, with his stupidly convoluted plots, lack of pacing, irritating characters, Amy Pond, Clara Oswald, egotystical rewrites of basic lore of the universe and general crappiness! The last who I watched was season 8 (there's a topic still kicking around with my thoughts), two episodes into season 9 my dad's digital tv lost its archive, and I just didn't care enough to find the episodes from another source,  much less actually pay some money to watch them. Indeed, the last who I bothered to actually buy on DVD were the season 4 specials up to the death of the tenth Doctor, as the Eleventh and Twealth doctor's eras were so bloody disappointing. I was however interested to see season 11, not actually for the reason most people wanted to see season 11, that the Doctor now happens to be female, but because the series was changing show runners, meaning the over all tone, style, characterisation and plot would go through a radical change (I dread to think what the terrible Moff might have done with a female doctor). I admit I've been reluctant, which is why I missed the season on initial broadcast, that and the fact that I generally need to hijack my parents' tv to watch it. I'll also admit that with the current climate, and some comments I've seen about Doctor who elsewhere, i was rather worried that things would get too preachy, misandric and inclined to play to the hardline sjws, as unfortunately has already happened in a few of the more recent audios (riversong series five,  the torchwood story night of the Fendhal for example). So, I've now started watching through season eleven, and my verdict is that  it is bloody! frigging! seriously! awesome!Yes, I just said it awesome! Certainly the best doctor who since David Tenant, and possibly more like classic doctor who than we've  up to now. So, I've watched up to episode 3 so far and in this topic I'll leave some of my thoughts on each episode as I watch them. People are free to chime in, but no spoilers please. Episode 1: The woman who fell to earth He who  moans, one of my favourite youtube commentators on all things Dr. Who Find his channel here called this a typical doctor who start of series story and was most unimpressed because of it. Oddly enough though, that was what impressed me. No big speeches, no glitz, no universe destroying biggest aliens ever, just the doctor, some normal everyday characters, and an alien killing people. I’m going to repeat that so people get it Killing! People! This might seem odd for a show one of whose principle monsters yells “exterminate” all the time, however one other thing that really got up my nose with Moff is that there was never any bloody death! If anyone died, the doctor went back in time (blinavich limitation effect or not), and reversed it, or pulled out some flashy flangy doomy device of magical plotsolvingness. Not here. People die, bad things happen, and wonder of wonders the doctor even solves the hole mess  with something actually logical for once. The alien predator wasn’t that interesting, but this first episode didn’t’ need interesting! Heck, the first ever episode from the sixties had no aliens at all, just the doctor and his time machine and how ordinary characters react to them. And lets get to characters, we have actual people we care about, including the guy who gets killed! We get enough backstory to know who these people are, and for them to be ordinary enough, without the script either making them so dysfunctional we want to kick them, or praising them so effusively we want to punch them, indeed actually having speak like real human beings once rather than in constant soundbites definitely a good thing to see. As I said above, I didn’t care that the Doctor was a woman. What I did worry about is that the script would! Care about the doctor being a woman and turn her into an over flirty sexually creepy confidence machine like pretty much every female character moffat has written ever. What I was pleased about, is that didn’t happen. What did happen, is that she was wonderfully weird, very scatty and lots of fun in a completely random way, indeed she reminded me of both David tenant and tom baker at different points, oh, and also thank god no romance! Its not that I don’t like romance in doctor who, however after a gripping success with rose, the subject just got ran into the ground, and hoary old convention though it is, I worried that just because the Doctor now has a uterus, we would be seeing love stories everywhere! Thankfully that’s one trap the writers haven’t fallen into (I wonder if Chidnal

It's okay Dark, I don't agree with the state of Pennsylvania's general sense of politics either... Sometimes I wonder if people give consideration to what makes a good friend a good friend. Jayde's point about the driving situation seems to be a big thing with blind people -- maybe I would get enjoyment out of recreational driving, but I don't know too many people who do that nowadays. Who has the money to keep bankrolling the gas for it?! If it's really a matter of your sighted friends not wanting to spend time with you due to transportation concerns, what the hell kind of friends are those? In retrospect, I had plenty of sighted friends who didn't drive for one reason or another, yet there was always the one or two designated drivers of the group who had no issue whatsoever to come get us. The same is true for my family. If somebody needed a ride to a family gathering, even small ones, it wasn't a burden to have an aunt or uncle come pick them up. Even my friends now have no issue with driving places. So for me, the driving thing is pretty shallow as well.

Re: Do you feel excluded?

I've had this feeling when, say, going to a new doctor's office, or walking through a mall. The number of times I have been told I don't know where I'm going, or even grabbed to steer me right, is ridiculous and stupid. As for the social/friendship side of it? Maybe I've just been pretty lucky, but overall I've always had friends. Some are blind, some aren't. I'm not the sort who wants or needs a huge circle, and I've been fortunate enough to find people similar enough to me to get along with. And for those who aren't, I can still make conversation without standing out horribly. I mean hell, I've had three days at my new placement and I've already made good rapport with six of my coworkers, three especially so...the sort where if I'd met them outside work I might have tried to hang out with them for fun or whatnot.People who are shallow don't impress or interest me much. I don't need them and don't waste time lamenting their lack of presence in my life.Pro-tip: friends who get upset that you can't drive aren't really friends. Just sayin'. I worry about that too, but my friends know I can't drive and are okay picking me up/dropping me off places if we hang out. It's just sort of a part of the experience and they've internalized it. Some sighted people can't/don't drive either, after all.I see a lot of resentment boiling in this topic, or simmering I suppose. This concept that the sighted world excludes us. And it does, often enough. But sometimes I think it comes down to a little luck and a whole lot of perseverance. This doesn't mean it's easy or that I'm trying to dismiss or lessen the experiences many of you have had, but it seems that some of them come down to who you run with, and whether or not you possess social skills. I am sad having to say this, but I oftentimes find that when I hang out with one or more blind people in person, I notice a distinct lack of social awareness. This is absolutely -not true of all or even most blind folks out there, but it's something I experience enough that I believe it's colouring my perception a little here. For me, the best interaction is the sort where a disability is not front and center. One of the reasons I like my coworkers so much; a couple have asked questions, but most take me just for my own sake and to hell with the blindness.

Re: break my spirit

Woo @Zarvox, time out!  I really do like your idea; the problem is that, as I said in a previous post, not everyone subscribes to my outline of truth testing.  The first step would actually be to get enough people together who do work with these concepts and agree that they stand the test of time... I believe they do, but I'm only one in a multitude.Remember what I said about court cases above?  Well, the fact is that the first three were applied in cases throughout the United states in court rooms where one was innocent until proven guilty.  This system is slowly being phased out, because of meaning, or lack there of.  In political circles, hate speech and derailing of candidates isn't called hate speech and derailing of candidates; it is called rhetoric.  In every day life, any judgment you make that is deemed negative can and more than likely will be called any number of things with a negative connotation, no matter what your intent might have initially have been, all in the name of political correctness.  Consider just a few examples:1.  Oxford University’s Equality and Diversity Unit tried to accuse people who avoid eye contact with others of ‘racist micro-aggression’ — before it was pointed out that such advice might be seen as discriminatory against people with autism who may struggle to look others in the eye.2.  The word illegal is not to be applied to people.  One set of guidelines in the U.S. states: ‘Actions are illegal, people are not . . . The word ‘illegal’ has been applied and abused by those advocating harsh immigration policies that are undoubtedly racist and xenophobic.’ The politically correct terminology is ‘undocumented immigrants’.3.  Do not use the word lame when refering to someone with a disability that has left one of their limbs mostly or otherwise inoperable, as, according to the ‘Ableist Word Profile’ (an online guide that ‘explores a variety of feminist issues through a disability lens’), use of the word ‘lame’ is ‘pejorative’ as it ‘reinforces ableism in our culture by reminding people that disability is bad’.4.  Mother is a word that’s far too old-fashioned in our modern world where there is sensitivity about transgenderism. In January of 2017, the British Medical Association advised members that mothers-to-be should be referred to as ‘pregnant people’ to avoid offence and ‘celebrate diversity’.5.  Do not ask the question "Where are you from?"  Even the most innocent verbal exchange can become a minefield. Guidance from the University of California, Berkeley, has decreed that asking ‘where are you from?’ or ‘where were you born?’ could be racist micro-aggression — because the phrases are ‘a covert way to say you don’t belong here’.Once upon a time, there used to be a little saying children said to one another:Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.That saying has been replaced by the idea that anyone can be a victim in a world where political correctness should rule to place a limit on controversial and overly hurtful subjects.  What it has really done, however, and all you need do is look at FB for evidence, is created a verbal dichotomy in which beliefs must and for the most part are privatized and people are left to wrestle with the inability to discover whether something is or is not, in fact, truly negative and thus deserving of any negative feeling.  IN short, you can't say this about that, and you can't say that about this.  Thankfully, here at audiogames.net, we do seem to have a bit of a grasp on it, and for the record, I do hope that Mirage, who was afraid of showing support for trump would seriously be frowned upon in that topic, still sees Trump as the right choice, as we don't hate Mirage or anyone else for having an opinion, or at least, I don't.So, in closing, I want to thank you for making the suggestion you made in post 18; it does make me feel good to know that you think my even suggesting this systematic approach is worth taking into consideration.  Just remember though, that not everyone appreciates it.  Here's a little something scary for you to consider, it wasn't too many years ago, that I was on the other side of that discussion... I more or less, was person A.

Re: Do you feel excluded?

@leibylucw, I remember when I used to have friends like that, be prepared to see them all vanish when  they procreate, sorry but this is how it is, the second that you hit the age when most people around you are increasing the population, you no longer exist, no wonder they call it the selfish gene!Maybe its growing up in a medical family, but doctors usually are one of the groups I find to be okay around blind people, the trouble usually comes from shop assistants, servers in cafes, people like that. I will say I generally noticed the extroversion content was much higher in the states than when I was in Britain, people would be far more likely to come up and start a conversation with me. On the other hand, most conversations in when I was in Pennsylvania  visiting my lady's family seemed far more superficial and in some ways stricter with a narrower range of subjects, with women talkign animatedly about the doings of other women and their church, whilst the men generally didn't talk as much unless the opportunity came up to talk about beer, sport  home improvement, and on the rare occasions other topics like politics turned up, they were usually marked by agreement so universal it would've been almost cultural blasphomy to disagree.so while people were superficially friendly with a "hello" I don't think if I lived in the states full time I'd get on much better than I do over here generally. Btw, amusing story about people not asking things. I remember when I was at university, I'd just left my room to go up to the hall for dinner. A man came down the drive behind me. I heard him call to two people who ran passed him "excuse me, do you know where reception is" The two people didn't hear. He began asking me "excuse me do you know " whereupon I turned around and he saw I was carrying a cane. He then said "Oh I'm sorry" And was obviously preparing to leave. I toldd him, "Yes I certainly do know where the reception is, I'm heading up that way would you like to follow me" He stood for a second or two, and then, rethinking things actually said, "Oh yes, I suppose you know your way around here better than most people" We proceeded to trot up to reception, and I think he left with something to think about .

Re: break my spirit

Going to weigh in a bit further here.Honestly I feel that Nocturnis has some very good points, but I tend to disagree on the fuller, wider application he appears to be getting at.Are narcissism and self-obsession on the rise? Abso-friggin-lutely. Many of the world's ills can be lumped at the feet of this particular double-team.But I don't think it stops there, and I don't think it's fair to label this obsession with self as the easy answer. When incarceration stats for people of colour are off the board as compared to whites in America, that's not obsession with self. Nor is it when there are literally more homes than homeless people to fill them. Unless you are implying that the people making these laws and enforcing these busted systems are guilty of self-obsession, in which case I'd like to gently point out that people have been systemically excluding, punishing, brutalizing and otherwise destroying and breaking minorities for centuries without good reason, so that particular self-obsession, a desire to keep those in power on top, isn't anything new and can't be blamed on tech. It's simple human nastiness. People have power, whether earned or unearned, and they will, in rather broad strokes, do just about anything to keep it.There's a lot being said about today's parents, and yes, I will agree that many parents seem to want to just check their problems with electronic devices and raise their kids that way. But that is not necessarily the norm, nor is it necessarily indicative of all the problems experienced by society as a whole. Technology is changing the face of said society, like it or not. Children are being taught to fear their elders less than ever before...and yes, okay, sometimes it absolutely goes too far the other way, but again, exception to the rule. I know plenty (as in dozens, hundreds really) of good kids. And guess what their tech is doing for them? It's filling their brains with all kinds of things, everything from new TV shows to ways to fight against cyber-bullying, everything from silly moronic YouTube ads and videos right down to helpful messages about inclusion, compassion and a need for change. There is a dark side to technology and the mass media, but there's also a good side to it. Let's also remember that the dark side is dependent on who's feeding what into said tech; don't blame the devices or the revolution which spawned them, but instead, point your fingers at the people high on top, many of them with unearned privilege they are misusing, and focus your ire there. It's not just them dang parents and those dag-sarned iPad thingamajigs. It's a very, very complex issue.A fightback against authority in the 1960s was long, long overdue.A focus on self-love in the 1970s was long, long overdue. The nihilism which followed in the 80s, 90s and even into the present day was not solely the result of the preceding revolutions. Much of it was down to the fact that the people wanted change, and the system - or rather, those in control of the system - mostly stood their ground and decided that no, the status quo was great where it was, thank you very much. so change has been a grudging, slow, grating, painful wave, and if you even go and look at the business in Alabama and such regarding women's reproductive rights, you'll see what I mean. Sometimes we surge forward, and sometimes we surge right back again and have to do all that good work over when it should be done and dusted forever. Much of the outrage, the anger, the fury, the violence that has resulted can be laid at the feet of two groups. The first is angry that all their awareness and drive won't actually make a difference. The second is so incensed that anyone would dare try and bump them off their perch that they want to kill and wound everyone who doesn't agree with them.In other words? Maybe the issue is that those we apparently purport to trust with power shouldn't have it because they don't know how to use it. Maybe people should stop fighting change every step of the bloody way and learn that some of the things they grew up on thirty, fifty, seventy years ago were maybe just possibly kinda wrong and busted and hurtful and exclusionary and all the rest of it. Maybe we should stop looking for easy answers, blaming parents and the mass media, and look a little more closely at the underpinnings of it all. How's that for truth?

Lol gay dogs, never seen that one, although I've seen guy dogs plenty of times. This isn't really a spelling error, just a minor typo, but it changes the meaning completely. The other day I was typing to a friend that I need to call BVS today. That's voc rehab, but different states have different abbreviations for it. Well, I accidentally typed, I need to call BS today. As soon as I realized my mistake, I was quite amused, and said that that is something I do every day.

Re: Hilariously misspelled words you've seen.

You know a word that's misspelled a lot around here? Alot, is one, and everytime, is another -- one is more a grammatical error and the other is the combinator of two words into one.

Re: A re-occurring nightmare, what do you guys think?

That's really interesting, I've never heard that statistic before. What makes blind children more prone to nightmares? As for dream interpretation, I have a healthy dose of skepticism about it myself. Freud saw dicks everywhere he turned, the only place he never bothered to look was in the mirror, at least it seems that way to me. In other words, many of his theories have been debunked, so dream interpretation is something I approach with a lot of trepidation. On the other hand, maybe the reason it unsettles me so much is because there are things that made logical sense to me after dreaming about them, but I don't want to derail the topic so I won't go into that.

Re: break my spirit

I don't know where you found the termonology to describe the 5 steps, but I like it. I struggle to complete any of those steps, so thank you. English class has attempted to teach me the first 3, for like 12 years, but it hasn't worked. Maybe there topics are too specific? Or not interesting to me? Or maybe it's because I was being forced to do it instead of taking an interest in it? I was considering making a topic so people could help me and other people practice these steps, with random situations, but I don't know. It sounds like a good idea, and a lot more people besides me need to learn how to use this system, but doesn't that sound like english class all over again? Except with smart people who can help me understand it and not rush to explain or have to follow a schedule or calendar? I really do think other people and I would benefit a lot from making a topic on here and people just throwing out situations and we tell our own opinions, but by showing our thought process with all 5 points. And if we get stuck on one of them someone can help us out. By us and we, I mean anyone on this forum. Because I want to become better at this system, and although english has tried, it hasn't worked. What do y'all think? Should we make that a topic to practice using the 5 step system and grow the common sense in the community? Or if not, at least my common sense, lol. I think focusing on this system is much easier and worth my time more than trying to change anything at the moment. If I can't even make smart decisions, how can I change something for the better?

Re: Do you feel excluded?

Re: Do you feel excluded?

I've experienced the whole talking through you and to the sighted person you're with. I was with a friend at the liquor store one night picking up liquor (no, really?). I was using sighted guide so I wasn't risking knocking into the bottles and breaking them. A gentleman approached us and told my friend he was doing a really great thing by helping me. He went on to give my friend $10 and said "God bless you."I just love how disabled people are looked at like charity cases whenever they receive help. Heaven forbid a friend help another friend out because that's what friends do. It didn't really make me uncomfortable, and after discussing it with my friend, he shared the same sentiments. It just bothers me that there are others out there who consider and treat me like I'm anymore helpless than a perfectly able-bodied person asking for assistance with something. There are times, though, when I'm being talked to indirectly where I will chime in, and the person redirects the attention to me. I'd say I have a 95% success rate. A similar situation happened where we were at a university-owned convenient store, and the cashier was praising the same friend for helping me out. What was interesting is that he interjected and said, "Just helping a friend out." After that point, we were having a normal conversation about how things were going like classes, finals, weekend plans, etc. Not only did my friend's comment help the cashier understand that I'm just a human being who happens to have broken eyes and a cute yellow lab for a guide dog, but that my friend also views me as a friend. I often feel like I'm a burden to my friends because of the level of help I ask at times, but I'm constantly greeted with nothing but overwhelming willingness to give it, and it's because they are genuinely great people. This is why I say I'm supremely lucky -- it's quite rare anybody has friends of that caliber, and that's something I have the utmost appreciation for.Whenever I'm on my own, I sometimes encounter the back-handed comments that are degrading but so minor in nature.I was alone at the dentist a year or two ago for a visit. When I was done, I was about to leave to go outside when one of the receptionists asked if my dad was picking me up. Perhaps it was because I had been going to that dentist for so long with my dad that she just assumed that's what was happening, but why would that matter? Can't I just leave without you wondering about how I'm getting to my next destination? Do you think I have to rely on my dad for my transportation needs? What's stupidly annoying about these kinds of situations is that our questioning of others' intentions or attitudes may be  viewed as unwarranted. Maybe one of us gets pushed enough to ask "do you think my dad drives me everywhere?" And maybe the answer is "I was just wondering, relax." Then suddenly, we're the assholes who need to change because we're the ones with the problem.Ultimately, what do I care about what a receptionist thinks? I don't, but it doesn't mean I can't feel degraded because of what's being said to me. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me" is a load of horse feces. Words carry a lot of weight and meaning behind them.

Guys, regarding emulators I have just fixt emus up, as well as repacked one of the emulators with a cheats file that you can use to cheat in games. I have removed MK tril for now, until I can figure out all these emus and then tell you which one you should use,  please don't touch anything in that folder!

Thanks a lot for the responses! @frastlin first person would be the player is inside the virtual character (like in Counter-Strike, Shades of Doom, Doom, etc.). As in you paper, "First-person 3D". I've enjoyed reading your work and would be very very good in my theoretical part of my work, which I did in early 2018. My e-mail is lucas_kill...@hotmail.com, to you and anyone interested in contacting me.Sadly I'm in the final moments of my project. Although studying other games would be VERY beneficial to me, I don't think I can engage in it as I have more work to do in my prototype and prepare tests for players. From your responses I've noted that many people will have different tastes in a better system, so let me reintroduce my work:My focus has been into a fluid gameplay, as I enjoy while playing 3D first-person-shooters videogames, like half-life and such, where the player can get more fast-paced action in movement, what I believe is opposed to audiogames, where you generally take longer times to reach distances, as it's best to do it with more precision. I know it's two very different worlds, but my aim was to make an in-between experience.I also reformulated my question, remembering that my key elements are:* Very capable 3D audio framework;* Assistant to tell 'where should i go';* Use of mouse for faster response.Would a audiogame first-person mechanic focusing in fast gameplay, prioritizing speed over precision to reach objectives in closed and open environments, bring anything new to the table? One thing I wanted to add, is that all the sounds are binaural and have HRTF. So, in case of a player running through corridors, and unintentionally hitting walls with the body due to the fast gameplay proposed, the player can hear exactly where he bumped on the wall. This is mainly what I'm working on, more exploration through making "mistakes" in movement. Thanks a lot!

HI.Got some shows to share. smilf season 1 , American housewife season 2 , the bang theory season 11 , red dwarf seasons 1-4 , the simpsons season 28 , the simpsons season 29 .That should be enough for now, I have a few more, but I'll upload those a little later. I put red dwarf seasons in one archive because they are so small, I figured it would be a little easier that way.

It should be when the zquake window is focused. When pressing "s" in the audioquake window it should load and focuses the zquake window, and when pressing tilde in the zquake window it should say "entering console" or "exiting console".

Well, on a slightly unrelated note, it is statistically proven that blind people will have 4 times as many nightmares as those with sight,, especially between the ages of 5 and 16. Funny enough I knlow I used to have shit tons of nightmares when I was a kid, like several a week, then it became a once a month kind of thing when I got a little older. I'm 20 now and don't remember having had any nightmares in a long time.
