Idea for nvda addon to make smuglers more accesible.

Hi guys.So, many of you may know about the legendary smuglers games, developed by Neels Bower.For the people who do not, they are 4x space strategy games and they have a blind compatibility mode.The problem is that not many people like using the jaws cursor or the object nav for nvda.I was thinking, why don't we develop an addon for nvda that can read the game automatically?It shouldn't be that hard.It will allow more people to be able to enjoy these games, but i think it should just be developed for smuglers5 as i believe that it is the best one of the smuglers games.Would someone be able to develop an addon just for this purpose?I would love to play these games as they are the games I've dreamed of playing my whole life.Thanks in advance.

Ah, I see. Shame, can't help you then. Try seeing if you can find the text to speech settings somewhere, I guess?Any information that you missed earlier could've been gotten later, in the recreation area. In science, you need to explore the rooms until you find the key, then go to the cams room and try to get through the maize there. All the info you need for the card is available in the area you get access after that.I feel guilty now for not writing down a more detailed guide; got distracted by IFComp. I promise I'll write it today if you still need it. Just don't give up, because this's a wonderful game that you've just barely scratched the surface of.

Hi, I don't see why you shouldn't include the AI, but there's no real reason to have things like pings and stuff if it's not actually going to be multiplayer. Just remove all that unnecesary stuff like player connected and whatnot, and just have you play the games with some computer generated oponents.

@72, @71 has offered to host the server of the current game version. The game most likely won't receive any feature additions, but it will receive only bug fixes. Since I am rewriting it, adding features on this version seems pointless to me.

If you like writing fantastic stories, programming, designing, playing, composing and playing music, etc, and if you have some minutes, ja ja ja, keep reading.Enter the AudioWizards Design Competition! Inspired by the music  competition we held last Summer and from all the great feedback we've  received, this time we got not only one but six categories to choose  from and submit your ideas and plans for! The categories are the  following:-Hat Design. Design a new hat for Endless Mode!-Enemy Design. Design a new enemy that the player can face!-Music Composing. Compose a new track for AudioWizards!-Story Writing. Write a new story setting in AudioWizards universe!-Character Design. Write and act out a new character!-Gameplay Element Design. @jade, he said that one of the borrowed sounds he was accused of using, the one for falling into the water or something,  came from an open sourced game. I'm not sure if that counts as a stolen sound or not. Of course, someone else accused him of using boulder sounds from branble and that's definitely not open source, but it does raise the question of whether sounds from open source games count as stolen assets. I would hazard a guess at no, because I mean, the whole game is open sourced, not the code, but it also may be pedantic. ALso, the point is moot if he indeed did use sounds from branble in this case, but you may want to think about the precedent you set for future issues.

Hi.well, nesting dolls, or Matrjoschka how they are originally called are a set of dolls which are nested in each other. So you have one big doll, you take it apart, you have a smaller one inside, inside another smaller one and so on and so forth.Creativity from those dolls mostly comes from the way how they are depicted or how well pictures are painted on them, they exist with different themes for example fantasy, russian leaders and so on.I don't know who came up with the term nesting dolls, I suppose someone wasn't able to pronounce Matrjoschka correctly.Greetings Moritz.

Just saying, if everything will be done by players,1. It'll be quite low quality. We don't really have professional mycrophones with which we can record. Maybe the music composing could be solved, but the recording, eh well.2. If players know that the actual work was made by them, they won't buy the game. It's okay that they get a copy of it, but they won't encourage their friends or anyone to buy it because they won't think it worths that much.3. If nobody buys the product, you won't get money for it, because you were just sitting in the background and wrote the code which you already got everything for, by the actual players of your game.4. I don't think I'd love to play a game in which for example I was the sound of someone, or I composed the music, or anything. If you needed only sounds, that's a different case, and people would be happy to help you out. But this competition literaly means that we should make up the whole game and then you'll program it in.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone came up with an Adult XXX idea ever? Like Dungeon Master, but with better sound quality and some kind of first person view with you able to walk through game world and play. He asked for example games. That's all. Not for help with a certain part of sintax, for a better manual, for instructions on this or that. The manual teaches you some examples, yes, but I view it personally as an enhancement after reading the language tutorial. A Pretty Accessible Video Editor

Hey everybody,Recently, I had a video I needed to edit. And I had no idea how to do that. Sure, there's iMovie, and Windows Movie Maker, and OBS, but I later discovered that was only for modifying video recorded there... Anyway, there were a lot of options, many of which I came across by typing "Video Edit" in the search box of this forum. But all of them were way, way, way... advanced and provided a million times the features I needed. So this video I wanted to edit was a 2 hour facebook livestream. I wanted one event cut out so I could save it as a different file and just watch that, instead of fastforwarding for a while in the original and trying to figure out where it started each time. So all I needed was a program that would just cut video. Well sure, there's audacity and goldwave for audio but I wanted to keep the visual part in case I ever needed to share it with a sighted person. So I did a little googling and came up with some software called Avidimux. I downloaded it, installed it, and loaded in my facebook video. The main window was pretty accessible with NVDA but because I had no idea what all the video terminology was and what any of it meant, I just ignored it all and browsed the toolbar... file, edit, view... and was able to get my video cut just by looking at the options. If you do get this program and try it out, just note that menu navigation is really strange... you have to use tab to move through the different options and enter to select. The only drawback of this program is that a few things are unlabeled and it exports your cut video to MKV but I can live with that, VLC media player is my friend when it comes to video conversion. Also, about the price, i've yet to find values, but i'm not entirely sure you can find a phone with the same specs as an iphone including being water proof and so on, for under 400 dollars or even more... And, yes, you have more choice if it comes to hardware, but you also have to spend more cash initially to get vocaliser voices [if you want to have the same gamma as ios has, you'll have to cuff up a good deal of cash], if you want another screenreader [you better let them cash flow] and so forth... Yes, you can probably use the bought software on other phones if you migrate or so, but still...

Hi!The game has been updated, and I believe that unless something goes horribly wrong, this is the last release. I just don't think I can add more stuff to it, especially with the interesting difficulty curve that has happened.Basically, everything besides the ghosts is slightly faster now, and you'll notice the game becoming more and more chaotic as the time goes on, regardless of you doing everything correctly.If you all have any suggestions, I'm happy to hear them, but I do think that the project has been completed.@98, I dono, if I add riddles, we bring back the issue of people processing things differently and getting frustrated because they solved something incorrectly. Firstly, if your work were to get into the game, you shouldn't be that critical of it. You are dealing with a team who knows what they're doing, and has an audio/music producer in house. @Chris, exactly. Its not that I can't use my phone, its just that there are more adds in apple apps than android apps. And as for the lines, If you press insert down arrow, you don't even notice it. But I'll still move the lines. The reason I didn't move them sooner was because I didn't get much time. There are some things I like about my Apple, but My samsung delivers in other stuff. Like being able to listen podcasts for free. And play games with GA. +, Siri's jokes aren't that funny.

I have to agree with the people who crytisise the financial aspect of the game. If you're going to charge for something, please for beer's sake make absolutely sure that your registration system works, and doesn't need to be redone, before release. These are the sorts of things you would normally figure out before you released the game, not after 20 people bought it and then came complaining about not receiving their keys, their keys not activating etc. A nonfunctional registration system simply sets a very bad precedent and is just a big no no. Any other bugs that happen at launch are more acceptable than bugs with the reg system, seriously. Finally, although the pit falling sound from sb may be usable because sb is open source now, it's still the wrong sound and should be changed to something more firey. Or change the fire pit sound to a water one. I hate inconsistancies like those.

The demo is version 1.2. The full game is version 1.5.I notice that a lot of the bugs that are in the demo is not in the full game.

#Yeah artisanastry is useful, I got a couple of levels in it last time myself. I'm currently on zone 88, though i admit part of that was just not playing as actively today. I'd like to get beyond 125 this time if I can, maybe even over 130 though that could be a bit ambitious. For what challenge next, I'm not sure. I'm tempted to repeat electricity, or go for one of the challenge 2's to up my attack percentage and helium gain, as diciplin really isn't too difficult and I should be able to get over 100 at least, though I'm also tempted to do another run of electricity or even life, though I'm not really sure about life, especially if there is not currently a way to tell where the living and dead cells are on the map or what your going to fight next. I suspect the level 120 challenges like coordinated will have to wait, indeed the guide on the trimps wiki gives suggested helium totals for some of the challenges which seem like good advice, indeed had I done electricity before trying frugal I likely would've got on far better.

I stress that I stopped using Java when I got a computer without a stereo-compatible mixer that Java could access, and I have no idea what the present state is.Latest version: Sound2Player : works like the BGT sound object.

Android WhatsApp, sure, what's easier? The fact continuous playback does not work with TalkBack on or the fact that there are no custom actions just like in any other app? Maybe the fact you don't have accurate seeking through voice messages? UI in most iOS apps is way more consistent and cleaner. Even in Google apps just like I mentioned in one of the previous topics. You usually know that done, okay or save is at the top right corner, back is usually top left, you don't have to flick through useless elements and so on. Thinking right now, I can't exactly say I have a huge list of apps that have a really good UI on Android. Everything on Android works just fine, but apps on iOS are usually much faster to navigate.

I think the only difference is that Sound2Player tries harder to support pitch bending, but will have to check.
