But otherwise I didn't got anything out of the event at all.So what do I currently think about the ps5? I currently don't see any reasons for getting it.If the tts will be available outside the US, then I might get it. Otherwise, I stick to the XBox and support a company who really cares about accessibility.

Re: VGStorm RPG Walkthroughs

That's how I look at it. If you know exactly where everything is, then yeah, being able to see things you already know the location of is kind of underwhelming. That said, being able to save anywhere and everywhere is lovely. I hate bad luck or a stupid fight I fail to run away from ruining my progress. And all the levels you get are more useful mid-game than late-game, because Stella can just smoke stuff after you get her, catch up really quickly, then carry your party into the mid-80s, which is more than high enough to start the postgame if you're careful.Just caught up watching your playthrough. I could've sworn Mortrex got Shadow Sphere at some point? I see you using Eclipse Rocket a lot when you'd probably get more reliable STAB from PsychoTrick. And that Hyper Maustadon absolutely hates Diabolical Fire because it hits both his fire and ghost weaknesses. You actually taught me something about the mirror shield. I usually just hit it once to prime it, then hammer the boss till the shield breaks. I also usually ignore the bomb, beat on the boss some more, let three people die, use the crystal since it doesn't change your ending or reward from what I understand, and then basically just bulrush it. I liked your combo of Bamboustica, Mortrex and Maustadon, except when Flame Apocalypse hit. One thing I noticed: your last resort protocol instance never once used Omega Sandstorm, which I'm surprised by. That definitely makes the fight harder.I honestly wish there was a way to fight Chaos Ogma at the end without the auto-life thing. For extra exp or a unique item, maybe? That fight is perfectly doable without a party wipe; hard-ish, but doable. Ah well, guess there's no real sense in making suggestions anymore. I lol'd at Giganatan trying to learn Mud Ball at level 50-something, and Chimerus trying to learn Barrier when it's had Call to Arms (which is arguably better as it also boosts an attacking stat) for a long time.

Re: Questions on Time of Conflict by GMAGames

No and yes. The game is mainly centred around a world war 2 level of technology, fighter planes, tanks, battleships etc. However the game is also extremely customisable, and quite possible to create your own campaigns, units maps etc, indeed I believe David already created a scifi space war mod that comes with the game, though sadly not many people have taken advantage of these opportunities, and to my knowledge, no mods were actually created by other users.Time of conflict actually has some really interesting mod potential and a lot of things that even tactical battle doesn't have, EG it's far more about huge numbers of units, and being able to handle truly gigantic maps, even by just viewing them a bit at a time, so if someone did create some historical war maps that would be fun. Actually, I've not played time of conflict for a long while myself (I probably need to get a new key).Alternatively of course, there aren't any historical American maps for Tactical battle either, so you could have a look at creating mods or campaigns for that too.

Hi friends:It just occurred to me...is there a way around the fact the playbooks aren't TTS enabled in Madden 20? I mean, they're different for each team, so I'd probably need help memorizing without more. Or are they generally similar in some way making memorization workable. I mainly ask because there's not been much accessibility news about Madden NFL 21 that I've heard. Re: What do you think of this video?

Accman, I'm officially done trying to reason with you,. I guess for you that's good news, but it also makes me sad. You are part of the problem and you don't even know it. Your arrogance is such that you are taking your view on things as absolute and incontestable. You are ignoring the things being shown to you by people who have lived it, or made it their life's work to deal with these issues. You've decided that your view is the one true view, which unfortunately just makes you another entry in the long, long list of people who don't get it, who don't want to get it, and who, each in their own tiny ways, are getting in the way of progress. But hey, at least this means no more distracting arguments between the two of us. There's that much. There are people out there who absolutely cannot stand to have their worldview shaken, much less shattered or turned upside down. You appear to be one of these people. And until that changes, you are going to be a minor roadblock that others have to deal with. If you were truly sorry to cause harm, you would be willing to re-examine your stances and your worldview. Your attempts to quibble about the words "race" and "homophobia", your insistence that "all lives matter" even in the face of this situation, your suggestion that having black friends somehow guarantees that you aren't racist in any way, your insistence that we all be colour-blind and ignore racial issues, your deracialization of systemic problems that are absolutely and undoubtedly the fault of oppressive systems meant to empower whites while stepping on everyone else...any one of these things alone would be a minor annoyance, but all of them paint an extremely clear picture. You're not a raging, hate-filled racist who's trying to hurt people. I hear that. In your own way, you think this is the right choice. I hear that, too. But I can't respect your stance when it is so controversial, so full of contradiction and so interwoven with white-serving rhetoric.I mean this from the bottom of my heart. I hope that one day you really sit down and have a look at how the world works. Not just your view on it, but how it -actually works. Watch that video I linked. Read up on some of the things mentioned in it. Go digging into the details of racism, not just against blacks but against virtually every race. You will come to realize that while racism against whites does happen in some places and situations, it appears to be by far and away the minority. Most racism happens toward non-whites, and is perpetrated by whites. I hope one day you will come to understand that all the way down in your gut. It takes time, and it takes courage. I hope you find both.

Brandon, thank you so much for doing this, and I hope you realize the impact your hard work is having on this game and when it comes to future games as well. I actually have a quick question regarding the "sweeteners" you talked about in the podcast. Let me give you an example. You mentioned that these sweeteners can also be used with l3. Let's say I'm close to a small building where the only entrance is through a window that I need to break. Does it mean that when we're close to a window, we can actually use l3 to face this window automatically, walk to it and press square? Or do we have to walk towards it manually and then press square when prompted.

Re: Where do you learn PB?

It actually does. But it's not good for a beginner. PB is not meant to be a first language, at least according to the manual. It doesn't give you a good place to get started. Once you get started however, you can fly. I started with variables, moved to console, and slowly started learning more and more. PB's functions, constants, etc are much, much better documented than BGT's could ever wish to be.

I can definitely understand the bewilderment about the vanished seed though since it happened so quickly. We've increased the time before a dead seed or plant vanishes to 1 week.

Re: Full breakdown of all accessibility functionality in The Last Of Us 2

Greetings all,Brandon Cole here. As has been mentioned, I worked on TLOU2 for 3 years as their official total blind accessibility consultant. I am very familiar with the systems and how they work. I see the podcast episode has already been mentioned in this thread, so I recommend listening to that first, but if you have done so and still have questions, feel free to respond here and I'll get to them as soon as I can. Also, though Liam will be streaming the game at midnight, which is fantastic for those who want to hear the game right away, I would like to encourage some of you to come to my stream on the 19th and beyond as well. There are 2 reasons for this.1:  I will be demonstrating and explaining the features directly from the perspective of someone who worked on them and already understands them in great detail.2:  I will be playing the game FOR my sighted fiance, instead of her playing the game for me, which is literally making a dream I mentioned having back in my GAConf 2017 speech a reality. It's bound to be full of awesomeness, and her reactions as well.My first stream will be Friday, June 19, at 1:30 PM eastern, and will take place as all my streams do on www.twitch.tv/superblindmanAgain, if I can clarify or answer anything, just post a reply here and I'll get to it when I can. Thanks all for your many kind words about the game!

PB might actually be worse than BGT in the manual regard also. BGT at least has a pretty clear introductory tutorial which covers most major features of the language, even if it doesn't teach you good programming practices that would be useful in the mainstream. PB doesn't even seem to have that.

Re: What do you think of this video?

Up until about five years ago, I figured most of the harm against indigenous folks was done, and we should probably be just getting on with making sure it didn't come back. I was wrong about that. Also, in case it wasn't clear, quite obviously there are gradations of racism. Someone who uses the n-word like a weapon, or actually hurts people of colour deliberately and directly, is on a whole different level from someone who states "all lives matter" as a response to the black-lives-matter movement. Both cause harm, but one is far above the other. But it all needs to stop, not just the worst of it. Accepting responsibility for actions is extremely important. And lest you believe that I think myself above such things? I'm not. I try very hard to be respectful, but I've been called out a few times in the last few years for saying insensitive things, and in each case the person was right. I am not some perfect paragon of a woke white person, and I'm not trying to push that on the rest of you either. I make mistakes too. I'm not pretending to be without fault. At best, I'm suggesting that I have studied this, analyzed it, talked with folks about it and, most important of all, I've listened. That makes a lot of difference.

Re: What do you think of this video?

All lives matter is just distracting? Distracting from what, a bunch of people who say that black lives matter, but really don't give a rip about the ones they supposedly champion. What of that retired police officer in St. Louis who was killed by one of these black lives matter people, and that officer was also black by the way. What about what's going on in Seattle where these people are attempting a city-wide takeover and no one is standing up to it because they're being made to feel that it would be a racist thing to do? All lives matter is not the point of distraction. Rather, it is the focal point we have got to get back to, and showing special treatment to one group, no matter which it is, will not help anything. Again, this is not an opinion I happen to hold. These are given facts that are right in plain site for all to see. I guess people just aren't interested any more. We're still choosing to live in the past. It's like society has a big, mobility cane and is choosing to keep it behind them instead of out in front where it belongs. You know as well as I do what happens when you do that, it doesn't end well.Though it might not seem like it at times Jade, I really do appreciate the perspective you hold as a fellow human being. You also have presented it very well and with respect which I think very highly of for sure. I do not mean to seem difficult at all. I'm just fed up with a society that can't see past the color of the skin. I don't know when skin became a race, but apparently that's going to be an ongoing problem from all sides of this in some way, shape, or form.

Re: unexpected token bgt runtime error, how to solve

@53Microsoft determines that something is a virus by having seen it being a virus before, and then develops patterns to try to detect similar executables.  BGT works by taking the same executable for every single game, and attaching some non-program data to it that BGT interprets.Executables start off assumed to be viruses, actually, and are sort of proven otherwise.  Microsoft won't flag every executable that's new, but a new executable is given extra scrutiny.  So in addition to similar code patterns between viruses, if it does virus-like things it might get flagged.  What exactly causes this is unknown on purpose, and it should be noted that Microsoft isn't necessarily only looking at the executable either, it will also examine the files alongside it or whatever else to make the determination. My guess is that either Angelscript gets generally flagged, or someone made a virus with BGT and distributed it and Microsoft got sent a copy.  In the latter case, because the executable part of BGT is the same for everyone, it is nearly impossible to avoid false positives. To fix this there's a reputation system.  If you're a good citizen in other words, and your executable gets unblocked on lots of systems, it'll stop being flagged.  But BGT is just different enough once your game is packaged that the reputation can't be shared among the community. And let me be clear: if this sounds like I'm saying it's possible one bad actor wrote a virus and ruined BGT forever for everyone, yes, I am saying exactly that.So that leaves you plan B, which is code signing.  You can transition the reputation system from your executables to you as a developer by buying a code signing certificate (which is like $100 a year) and releasing software, and over time your code signing certificate will become trusted.  Or you can start an LLC, prove your identity, pay $600+ a year, and follow a few other restrictions and get trusted instantly.  In either case though, the main point is that your code signing certificate says who you are and that if this executable is a virus come knock on your door for the arrest, which is why this works.Code signing certs can't be shared because they've got developer real names in them.  If a cert gets used in a virus the cert is ruined, and potentially the developer who owns it is liable. The difference with mainstream languages is one of two things.  For the compiled languages, every executable is very different--it's not the same code plus some scripting data, it's actually different machine instructions.  For the interpreted languages, the executable running it is the same, but they're popular so that executable is widely understood not to be a virus by the antivirus software developers and gets a pass (presumably with the signature stuff looking at data files around it instead, but again, they don't tell us because that's telling hackers how to break it),.

We don't learn much about them in the present day. We don’t learn about civil rights movements such as the American Indian movement. But we're talking about specifics here, so all-lives-matter stuff is just distracting.Accman, I do want to point out one more thing that you maybe haven't understood or internalized. Please don't conflate things I've been taught with things I believe. I make my own decisions, thanks kindly; I'm not just a parrot for the left, and I think very, very carefully about things before deciding whether or not I want to follow them. In other words, the fact that I am confronting you is not simply because I'm being told to or expected to; I'm making a choice of my own free will to call out hypocrisy where I see it.Now, you ask why we are still being asked to make reparations for stuff that happened a long time ago? That's because it's still happening. Obviously I cannot personally be held accountable for something my great-great-great-grandfather said or did; that action is not my fault or my responsibility. However, racism is still alive and well in the world. Please, if you haven't, watch the video I linked to; you will see the sorts of things that have happened, and in some cases are still happening, to people of colour. If all of the atrocities they were citing had happened two whole centuries ago, then maybe you'd have a point. But the problem is that while racism is nowhere near as ugly as it once was, it's still happening. Now it's on a more systemic level. for instance, it might be decided that a freeway should be built through an urban area largely made up of a minority population. And who makes this decision? Certainly not the people who live there. If you go and look at the stats on things like this, you'll realize just how amazing it is that black neighbourhoods are so often targeted. If you've ever heard of the "ghetto", this was something that was done deliberately in order to get blacks to live together. These areas were often in less-than-ideal places in cities, with less access to things like amenities and resources and public transport. The people who lived there often had to work long hours for lower wages, and the police have historically been more heavy-handed in dealing with people of colour. Of course, in some areas, police just stayed away unless they absolutely had to get involved - this was before there was widespread violence and risk to police in some communities, so please don't bark up that tree - which meant that black people often had to find ways to solve their own problems instead of being able to rely on the interdiction of law enforcement. Black-on-black violence has been one of the unfortunate consequences of this plan, because when you put a bunch of disadvantaged, targeted, frustrated people together, there's bound to be some unrest and some actions you'd rather not see. I'm not going to pretend that gang violence, and blacks killing blacks, aren't happening, because that would be silly. What I'm going to ask you to do is to remember that violence against black people, perpetrated by predominantly white people, is still happening on both a personal and systemic level. You also ought to look into the concept of transgenerational trauma. If racism, genocide, large-scale religious persecution or other such things affected previous generations of your family, it may mean that you grew up without family members you otherwise would have been able to count on. A father, a brother, a mother, an uncle, whatever the case may be. Obviously this happens to white folks as well to some degree, but it's pretty prevalent in black communities, just to name one. I bet there are a lot of black families who could talk to you at great length about the people in their family who have been hurt, spat on, abused and even killed by the system which holds power over them. When they struggled, they had fewer resources to call upon. Financial help was less available. Mental health problems often went unreported because reporting them often meant things like unwarranted CPS involvement, suspicion of drug use, or worse. So some of tese folks grew up knowing that their ancestors, and even in some cases their immediate family, have been chewed up and mangled by the system, and you'd better believe that makes them angry. And again, what is there for them to do? They have had no real say in how the power structure developed.Does this mean that all of their violence is 100% okay, and we should just hand-wave it? No, of course not. But have some fucking compassion. It's been going on for hundreds of years, and it's only really begun to ease up in the last fifty years or so. Even then, the battle is not done.Oh BTW? I agree a hundred percent about indigenous people. We've had a pretty awful history with them as well. Residential schools, the 60s scoop, human rights abuses...it's a long and terrible list. It's not only blacks who have received the dubious attention of the white ruling class, not by any means. But right now, black folks have the spotlight because of what happened. Change needs to happen. I promise you that folks like me have not forgotten that people of colour are not the only ones who need help.

Re: What do you think of this video?

Ironcross, thank you for at least coming this far. We've had our differences, but in this, you seem to understand where things are at right now, and I respect you for that. All lives do matter. That isn't the point right this instant, but of course they do. In a very big-picture sense, every life, regardless of race or gender or any other factor, is equal. Black-on-black violence has been one of the unfortunate consequences of this plan, because when you put a bunch of disadvantaged, targeted, frustrated people together, there's bound to be some unrest and some actions you'd rather not see. Re: What do you think of this video?

In some ways I agree with you. But, while we're at it, we should pay the native American back for what they went through in the past because of events like the Trail of Tears. No reparations have been made for them. And, while we put emphasis on one group, in this case black people, you're going to have to deal with another part of the human race being thrown under the bus. I mentioned that college professor from UCLA who might get fired over not choosing to cancel final exams for black students who wished to join in the protests, and he is right to decide that way because it isn't right by the other students in that class. No group deserves preferential treatment like that unless you plan to do it for all groups in the human race. Yes, I know there is also that argument about black people having it hard, and I would agree that they have in some cases. However, many, many black people have enjoyed great success in the fields they've chosen. Might they have come from a rough beginning? Sure, but the important thing is that they worked hard and persevered because they were willing to work at it regardless of what others thought. I hear people talk these days about this stuff and they'd dare to mention the likes of Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, and Rosa Parks. These people would be rolling over in their graves if they knew the violence that was being brought about by people, both black and white, who would make us believe that they truly think the black lives matter. To me, black lives matter a great deal, but even more do I say that all lives matter. The minute we start showing more favoritism toward one group, no matter which that is, we're going to have problems and will continue to go through exactly the things we see right now. Some of these protests, especially the more violent ones that have turned to riots, are not going to cause people to grow closer to their black counterparts. Instead, there runs the serious risk of causing an even greater divide. This is something we all really need to think about for the sake of our entire race.

In regards to the bit about holding 2 fingers on the screen while powering it up to start the screen reader, it doesnt matter what position they are in as long as they are reasonably distanced and not bunched together. Also from what I'm hearing from apple users around here it sounds like the home button is being done away with altogether on that side so that you need a dedicated jesture to go home. Am I wrong? I mean you can set home to a jesture in talkback, but the home button is still where it's always been, and you can still touch and doubletap to activate it, even if it isnt physically there. And trust me, those back and recent buttons on the bottom of the screen really do come in handy sometimes.

Re: A better way of handling gift requests?

@Meatbag see post #1.In summary, the sticky is by nature disorganized. This means that if I want to buy a game for someone, I have to sift through pages and pages and pages of messages to see who is asking and whether or not they have already received what they were asking for. With a dedicated subform, people can post a topic requesting a game, its status can be updated and closed when someone buys the game for them. This way, someone possibly looking to give someone a Christmas gift has to spend a few minutes looking at current requests as opposed to hours.Example of how a thread might look:requester wrote: High. I'm requester and I'm from . I'm 14 years old and my parents cannot buy games for me because we don't have PayPal in . Hi, nice work so far, but it still seems incomplete, like there are no links to take you to the setup before a race begins, and the layout of the different series.

Why you'd want a strap on a mechanical keyboard is beyond me, but I don't know what else those would be used for.I don't own that keyboard, but from reading up on it, I'm guessing those slots are where your keyboard latches into the K63 Wireless Gaming Lapboard which is sold separately.

When not viewing tweets in Tween, I send it to my tray. It sends normal Windows notifications anyways. And @haily, excuse me for not looking at github for a project that haden't, in fact, been updated in ages until a few months ago. Plus, I'd rather use a client that doesn't hog my ram. Tween max ram usage, 96 mb. TwBlue? 3, gigs. I'm not kidding you, tw blue once used 3 gigs on another system of mine.

Watch the presentation with a good pair of headphones on. It sounds absolutely fantastic! At the end there is a purely visual portion of the presentation, if you can find it with commentary, watch that in case they describe what's happening because I dont want to spoil it.Perhaps accessibility will be addressed later on, but yes, todays presentation was all about gameplay and trailers of upcoming titles. The 3d audio is absolutely finnominal!

I do support rorey because he is trying. But this topic didn't start with him trying to show off his skills. This topic started by him commenting on my comment, and he opened himself up to attacks by doing that. If this were his topic, I would defend him and say bringing up his past is not right, but he chose to respond the way he did, so  bringing up his past was on him. Th isn't the first time he has done it either, but I will jump in and say I do the same thing sometimes, so I shouldn't say this. But I am trying to explain when discussing his past is and isn't his fault

Re: Epic is giving away SAMURAI SHODOWN NEOGEO COLLECTION

First impressions... game seems to work fine. The main menu is slightly odd in that you can navigate with both up and down arrows or right and left... but it does not wrap. It goes play, museum then... options? I think? I just closed it, so I'll check again later. If you click play, the games are listed in order from 1-5, 5 special, 5 perfect. Press space on one of those, and you get 1P/2P. Not sure how you play online though.Only problem is for keyboard users... since it's intended as a true emulation, there is no button for heavy slash, it's light+medium.

Re: unexpected token bgt runtime error, how to solve

I have switched to python. I like it. It makes much more sense, finding help and resources is so much easier, and of course, having 3rd party site packages is awesome! Three months ago I picked up python, and abandoned it after a few days. But shortly after that, I didn't feel like coding anything. So a few days ago I picked up pyython again to see if I could get my coding motivation back. So far, it is working. If a new forum does get built, we should not allow new bgt games. If we don't push people to switch, they most  likely won't. And the longer you wait, the more risk you take of not being able to let go.If we have a rule on the new forum that says new bgt games will not be accepted, then people will be forced to swich to something else if they want their projects to be advertised. The forum may only be 1 place online, but it is big enough to matter to most blind people.Last thing to say here, if you are discouraging bgt use, don't even post in a dev's topic because that is still giving them attention.

The thing with Rory is hes trying to release good games, but everytime he tries someone randomly tells abandonment and terminal game, when he of himself knows that stuff was because of sercumstances. Hes trying to move on, but the dude's been hit so many times the slightest thing triggers him.@Simter, by you attacking Cross and Haily for their pasts you're no better than the both of them. Re: Full breakdown of all accessibility functionality in The Last Of Us 2

@stirlock, ah, ok. I understand now.I just have apple wired headphones and honestly they're not so good. They're fine for podcasts but anything like the last of us, nah.plus with sony you can get surround sound or other audio features built in.The bluetooth headphones I have now are fine, but I'd rather not take the risk, I don't exactly know when my auntie is letting me borrow the PS4 so I'd rather buy a pare of headphones on monday and know that they work, than get it on thirsday and find out they don't, then rush around to buy a pare with money I may not even have because of bills. Is it a lot for just one game, yep but it's gonna be worth it.I'm blown away by the audio in the last of us, the little grunts and breathing and bad guy sounds are amazing, there's a very good reason they're a tripple a game.So the second game is going to be just as good if not better, I'm totally ready for it.
