36 has very good ideas.honestly, i don't have much programming skills to create something like this, could you try?you don’t need to play online or things like that, just a guide that could manage matches analyze, be able to comment, if you can do research on opening books or something.  being able to set up a specific position to analyze would also be very good, to train game endings.  and what is this Xboard that you talked about?

Hello. I think that audio games need to somehow be brought to certain standards. not everyone on this forum speaks English. I'll admit I use a translator. and sometimes very good quests are released with excellent voice acting, but unfortunately my knowledge of the language is not always enough to understand what it is about. it would be nice if the games made text translations of the actors' phrases by pressing a certain key. it is clear that the developers will not do the dubbing. and why. maybe someone from the developers will read my post and in some of the games or series of games this will be implemented.

Hi,thanks, these demos of you playing mainstream games sound really fun to listen to, and also to maybe find some more games to play.Just a quick note for players of Croixleur Sigma on PC, the menus are not spoken there at all, I had to use OCR to read them unfortunately. Unless I got the wrong version, which would be unfortunate. I got it from steam and they have only the Croixleur Sigma Deluxe, which also seems to play a little different than the other versions, but since I don't have much experience with the game yet, I can't really explain in what way.Thanks again for this idea of yours, I'm really looking forward to other playable games on here.

hello, and welcome to Kenshira Plays. This is, as the title states, a thread where I will share audio demos of mainstream games. Some will probably be lesser known titles, some are known, but done for fun. All are meant to showcase a game's playability. I will not do audiogames, because there's probably enough of those demos. Thus, this thread will primarily be focused on games playable by the sighted and blind alike. Expect to hear games of all erras, from nes to modern gen consoles, and everything in between. I'll even do mobile game demos on occasion, as long as they are not audio games. With each new entry, I will also share a bit about each game, as well as my earliest memories playing them. I will try to update this thread frequently with an audio demo from my vast library of mainstream games. Please feel free to comment with thoughts, questions, suggestions and requests.For my first game, I present Croixleur sigma. It is abailable on all major platforms, including pc, ps4, vita and switch. I discovered this 3d arena hack n slasher while game hunting over seas. From all that I heard and read, the game soundness playable, so I took a chance and bought it. At first, I thought I had made a mistake because I couldn't seem to find portals, or manage to hit anything, until I looked in the options menu and discovered the auto dash function, which automatically targets enemies. I was, of course, elated to discover that this game was more playable than I could have imagined, because I can think of no other game that has such a simple lock on system. I discovered a way for tracking down portals as well, and even managed to beat the game under 10 minutes, on 1 credit, which is a requirement for some unlockables.In this demo, I will be playing through the main story with lucresia. Unfortunately I didn't do good enough for the ending, but to demonstrate what to expect should you purchase the game, i'll put up this recording of me playing the vita version. Its about 30 minutes long, and in m4a format. Apologies for the recording quality. The game is fully voiced, but not in english, though the menus are spoken in English. @Wing of iternity, that about Jaime is precisely my point. It seems that the end of season 5 simplified a lot of factions down to more basic characters. Rather than the sons of the harpy being a small scale terrorist group and one which Denaerys actually negotiates with quite successfully (since they stop their terrorist activities in return for her marriage to Zo lorac), now they're just a generic vil! army. In the books, Dawn has as much complication as the other factions, with Arianne's failed plots, Doran MArtelle's long game with Quentin, and the sandsnakes not seeing the big picture, in the series however, things are now just rushing towards war. The one that really! irritated me here was stanis, beware! here come the spoiling spoilers of extreme spoilage I cannot pretend to like Stanis in the books, being allied with a religious nutter who has a thing about burning people is not exactly a good thing.However, Stanis has a lot of good points. He's harsh and unplacable and has no ability to see the world in anything but black and white, but fundamentally, unlike someone like Tywin, he has principles, and unlike someone like Circie he actually is competent, neither will he randomly be ruled by his emotions the way Denaerys often is. Take the way that John sends Mans Raider's baby with gilly to keep it safe, because John knows that while Stanis would probably be capable of burning babies alive if the ends justified what to him seemed quite extreme measures, he would only do so if it would actually accomplish a goal. No, this does not make him a good person by any stretch of the imagination, but it does mean he at least is someone who can be reasoned with, because he has rational reasons for action.he's the one person who takes the threat of the others seriously, not to mention being a pretty awesome general. Whilst I have a nasty feeling that between Tyrian's tacticks at the black water, and the general toll of fighting in the north his attack on Bolton is doomed, at the same time, I know who I'll be cheering for when we see that battle when the winds of winter eventually does! come out. However, in the series, he burns his daughter Shirrreen. Yes, Book Stanis would probably do this (see my above comments about expediency), however, there is a huge difference between suspecting that a character  might take some sort of action, and actually seeing them do it. There are some lines which tip any character from grey, into out and out villainy, and burning a child alive, especially a child we've grown to like throughout the series is one of them. once Shirreen burned, there is no possibility of seeing Stanis as anything but a villain from a dramatic perspective, indeed I was not at all surprised that he dies so soon after, since at that point, he pretty much is irredeemable to the audience. What's worse, is that all of the dramatic potential which could have been gleaned from that possibility is removed. Davos, who already defied Stanis in the case of Gendry (edric storm in the books), would not have sat by and watched the princess he regarded as a surrigate daughter die, and the conflict between the ex smuggler and man of honour's loyalty to his king, and his paternal love for the princess would have been fantastic to see. Similarly, had Stanis been recommended the course of action by Melesandra, but refused, then there would be a lot of drama to be gained. Supposed Stanis refused to harm his daughter, then lost the battle, well would this make him more of a zealot in future? Suppose he refused his daughter but won, how would that affect his   belief in Melisandra and her powers. Again, there was far more interesting potential from a character perspective which could have resulted from not! taking this decision than from taking it, since once Shirreen died, any sympathy or respect the audience had for Stanis went out thee window, and we just want to see the child murdering bastard get what for.This isn't to say I'm against majorly shocking and awful things in books or tv series, however, if your going to force your readers/audience to go through a horrific scene, and really burning a ten year old alive is about as horrific as it gets, then there has to be a pretty good  dramatic reason why, plots kicked off, motivations changed etc.Contrast Shirreen's death with  Bran Stark's fall, a fall which is the catalyst for so many events, , indeed it's to martin's credit that Jaime Lanister, someone who does something so profoundly nasty, is actually getting something of a redemption story.Then, there is what Shirreen's death does to the idea of Melisandra's powers. up to now, one of the really troubling things in the series, is that when Melisandra talks about gaining power from spilling king's blood, there is a distinct possibility that in Westeros, she might actually be speaking the truth. Nice review, I might bang a link on the db page.One thing it didn't mention which I personally really like about erion, is the fact that where it has activities similar to other games, they work in a different way. For example, lots of muds have fishing, you get out your poll, type fish, wait for a tug and pull. Erion however has probably the most interesting fishing I've seen in any game, with ability to toss chum, need to jiggle the hook around to attract fish, and several stages of fish state. Same with most crafts really, they're not hyper complex or time consuming as in something like Clok, or lament, but they just have enough too them that they're interesting rather than annoying to do, and I'm hoping we'll see more in the future too.

Hi everyone,Does anyone here know an accessible sample Player Software for Windows? I am not Talking About a full DAW, just a sample Player program.And Maybe someone knows launchpad on the IPhone, where you can even work with samples and loops and build them together and mix them to make a song out of them, a bit like a construction kit. problem with youtube app on iPhone

hi all.I have been noticing this problem with the youtube app for quite a while now, and it is really starting to irritate me, and it's one of the reasons I hate using youtube on my phone. But, if there is a way around this issue, I would like to know.I have been noticing that if a channel has a whole bunch of videos, say dating back to several years ago, as i am scrolling through videos on a channel, after a certain point, no more appear. I have tried moving to the next page with the voiceover gesture, but after a certain point it just stops working. I have gone to the channel, and clicked on the videos tab. This one channel I was viewing has videos dating back to 2013 or so, but it stops displaying videos after I go back a good 8 or 9 months. If I use youtube on my pc, this does not happen.Any help would be appreciated.

@jade, ah ok.I did hear a bit of a slip, but I can't remember exactly where it was and can't be bothered to go through the demo again.Where you go does deffinetly have a part to play on how you sound, if i lived in France for a year, i'd not be surprised if I used some of their sounds in my day to day speech.

@9Blank lines separate ideas, like how paragraphs do in normal English.  If you spend time with code not written by blind people, you'll get a good feel for that just by reading it, but it's actually even normal to put blank lines in the middle of functions as well.  Read them as "and now I'm thinking about/doing this other thing".  An example might be calculating the player's new position as 4 or 5 lines, then you put a blank line and switch to finding out if they're alive still.I've pointed people at black before; if you pip install black you can just run black myfile.py and formatting happens.  Pretty sure you can run it on the entire project as well.Much of formatting doesn't help us, but it's usually possible to learn why it helps the sighted, and for things like blank lines once you learn what's going on as opposed to whatever the rule is, it can help us too.  But no one states the why because if you're sighted, the why doesn't need explaining.

I noticed when blocking using the left thumbstick that after I moved it to the left and block that attack I moved it forward right after the left attack got blocked and it didn't block it. Do I have to let go of the left thumbstick then move it forward? I was going to have it block the attack that was in front of me then move to the right to block that one.

Ah. I see the problem now.  You're calling your functions and assigning the result to callback, not assigning the function you want called to callback. Drop the extra parens and it probably works.  Would have been helpful to know that it was actually doing something sooner.You should work on your indent. 4 spaces isn't hard to get used to and if you ever interact with anyone sighted at all, you're going to get put in the "sighted programmer who can't even format properly" bucket which is worse than the "blind programmer" bucket.

@ 1, if your running the later mac OS versions, you will only be able to disable gatekeeper via terminal, this disables gatekeeper permanently, until you turn gatekeeper back on. The terminal command is,sudo spctl –master-disable

In category 2 and 1 aircraft, after you land for the first time, when doing a task or flight with stops, you will be able to reverse faster after landing. Brad, that's what I'm telling you. Alex and her family are distinctly -not British. They are from a fantasy realm that doesn't exist, so its accent can be whatever the developers want it to be.If the voice actors themselves are British, but perhaps have lived in America or someplace else for awhile, then certain parts of the accent will soften. Don't believe me? Listen to Neil Gaiman speak; he's still very clearly British, but there are bits of his accent that are just flat-out odd because of where he's living.Now, if you wanted to criticize a given actor because their accent is inconsistent (in one minute they say can't, in the next they say caunt), then you might have something there. But that doesn't appear to be your criticism, and I didn't notice any accent inconsistencies of that nature.

Yes, the goal is to register global hotkeys. I know the WinAPI has functions for this, but from when I tried them, granted that was in PureBasic but it's the same general API, it was a pain. I guess I'll be doing some Googling, then.

I think the goal is to register global hotkeys, either app-wide or system-wide.  If it's wx, I believe there are already facilities for app-wide in it.  I can't necessarily give you alternatives here: for app-wide I'd probably just throw it together myself, and for system-wide I'd probably just go read the code, neither of which is at all a helpful answer.But the Q "stack" is...suffice it to say it leaves much to be desired.  My point isn't don't use it, my point is it's more than possible it's not you.  His approach to open source is to just throw up whatever he had that met his needs, so some of that even goes so far as to try to detect if you have other modules of his installed in order to magically reconfigure themselves, among other things, and every time any of us asked for docs he'd get pissed off at whoever asked and tell them to read the code.  If whatever you're using of his works for you, good, but don't assume that because it came from him it's going to work; accessible_output2 being (relatively) stable and sane and generally something that is easy to distribute and use is an exception, not the rule.

It's still an issue on 2004 home over here too. Quite annoying. Even when using xplorer2. It's not as bad as with Explorer, but still bad. You hit shift f10? You're fucked unless you're willing to wait 5 minutes and hit a hotkey really fast. And GW and Audacity open dialogs do it, as they use normal Windows Explorer.

Also, we're clearly not in England, so don't nitpick whether or not an accent is correct.If I'm paying x amount of money for a game, i'll tell people when the accent sounds wrong to me.If I remember correctly, it was the uncle who I had an issue with, I think he said can't instead of carn't, and as alex is british along with her family, it wouldn't make sense to say can't, they'd all say carn't because of how they grew up.IF these people are first time voice actors, they've done an amazing job, I just hear an issue or two, that's all.

Well for me chapter1 was good.The bow demo I found a challenge, if you are in range to shoot you need some sort of notification.Once the wolves come within blade range I was able to hit them but yeah never ending.The magic I never got.I didn't know when I had enough to cast and while I was able to block a few attacks there were just to many going at once to be of any real use.The rest was nice.I can't wait for this thing to come out, and I will be buying it this time.This is almost like a blind legend and echoes from levia except the story is good.Its like one of those interactive audio drama disks I used to used while I was a teenager.I have a few of these someone cracked and dumped for me which is basically cutseens.Old silent steel was a simpler version with cutscenes and voice choices.Its good that there is an interactive concept at least

I got it on my other PC and here are some thoughts. I’m going to write down a bit more in-depth analysis and email it to you guys, but I figured I would throw in my two cents a little here. Firstly, in the scene where Alex and Sheppard are talking, I agree with JAYD that there should be some reverb. However, I think it needs to be toned slightly down as it’s a little too echoey and sounds in front of you rather than bouncing off cliffs above you. Secondly, some menu options sound spoken by a different voice. I don’t know why this is, but in the final product that should be fixed

@105 and @112 I got the demo from Itch.io, and am using the latest version of Windows 10 64-Bit with no problems. I too am struggling with the magic demo, but will keep trying. I love a good challenge. Another demo I'm trying to complete is the Open Combat demo. Swamp has a stealth mechanic, although it outgrew it quite a while ago. It was based around the amount of noise you make. The earliest versions had three movement speeds, but eventually the slowest was removed. Different terrain made different levels of noise when trod upon, but I'm not sure how that mechanic wound up as maps got more complex, and I have no idea how it interacts with custom maps that use unrecognized terrain. Armor did eventually start contributing to noise, in both directions (quiet shoes vs noisy armor, etc).Bokurano Daibouken 3 and Temporal have very simple line-of-sight based stealth missions.That Halloween thing I started a couple years ago (I should just make it a Swamp Campaign, but the point was testing 3d stuff...) is mostly stealth based, with Swamp-style noise, but also trying to take light and LoS into consideration. I have no idea how well the light part would work in practice. There are different costumes the player can wear, which have different stealth levels, there are bushes one can hide under, and there's this one thing I don't want to explain in case by some miracle this small project that should have been done in a few months ever gets done, but it involves fvatvat Wnpbynagreaf Actually, anyone who credibly believes they can make this thing based on my notes (including a detailed AI outline) in 60 days or so?

i agree with 118 about the magic,  first  i don't even no what key to  push, alt space nothing, and it's hard to do  it wen 3 people are charging tords you, wow throwing javelins, and if you half to hit the buttan at the same time, then there should be a key to check how much favor you have, or else you'll never no how much favor you have and can't really guess wen it's about to make the sound , wow your fighting 3 people with war hammers and um, nin chucks, i guess.

Hello,@37: depends on the country. For example, even in chess, instead of Rxe8+ for example, in Slovak, we write Vxe8+, as veža is the slovak version of rook.Shogi seems to be in the same situation. Japans use their own kanji notation, but there is also a western notation similar to thatone used in chess:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogi_notationI can't tell though, whether the western materials use one or the other notation, but we could either run it through a translator, or add the japanese symbols to dictionary, so screenreaders can pronounce them correctly.What I'm worried about more is where to get a physical board. Computer board is fine to have some fun, but if one wants to play at least bit seriously, a physical board is necessary.Like yes, there are people who can play chess against 20 people at once and defeat all of them without looking on any of the used chessboards, but that's something I am not able, and most likely never will be able to do. And the traditional chessboard has only 8 rows and 8 columns, so i can't use it for shogi. Such drag...I was thinking about playing Crazyhouse instead, but I would need an interface to its engine plus another set of figures in addition to my currentone.Best regardsRastislav

I downloaded from ich.io with no problem whatsoever. Unless you're dead sold on Steam for some reason, I'd just use the other one.I didn't mind the volume of the crickets; they're loud, but not unrealistically so.That magic demo is...kind of not great. I totally understand the idea of building up your favour, then responding to a cue by hitting the right button, but does this really need to be done in the thick of combat since it's a demo? You'd think that it would be in a calmer setting so players would actually get a good sense for how to use it and how it worked.Oh, I also preferred the old tavern music to the new one, but that's simply personal preference. Both are fine.

For what they're trying to do, threading will work.  The non-newbie answer to this is that there's a mutex plus a timeout around the bytecode interpreter loop, but this means that anything doing I/O and anything doing calls into C won't block it, and even if you're doing a bunch of Python threads they are actually OS threads that do actually schedule, and they don't all get blocked or anything like that, you're just limited to single-core compute performance.  So i.e. socket.read() will happily run in parallel and reacquire the GIL when data arrives.  Cython lets you get around it some but only if you're explicit about releasing the GIL, as really Cython is a way to write Python C extensions without using C, not a thing for binding C libraries.   I think CFFI knows how to always release it when calling into C by default.The newbie answer, for everyone who reads the above paragraph, is that it doesn't matter for games because in practice a game can't rely on more than one core anyway.  I don't remember the Python threading API offhand but the above looks broadly right; I'm guessing it's something to do with whatever the library is.  In general, if the library isn't threading-aware and you try to use it with threads without some form of lock or other synchronization, it'll crash or do weird things.  That's true of any programming language, and what I suspect may be happening here, though if you want to verify if the therad is running, write a function that prints.  The Python-specific threading details can be ignored until you decide you want to do something like pathfinding in background threads, but since trying to do that sort of thing is a terrible idea for a whole host of other reasons, it probably won't ever come up.

Hello,As a... Somehow painful workaround I switched to explorer++, a free file manager. Unfortunately it cannot map itself to the windows+e key combination so I had to get autohotkey and a script to do that.

Hello,I don't think the issue is related to windows 10, the game actually crashes and closes. it produces an error, I think it would help if we send you the crash report from the temp. I found it, but not sure where to send it.I will try to post what seems important to me here while not making it too long just so you get an idea.TheVale.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc005)  in module TheVale.exe at 0033:.  ERROR: SymGetSymFromAddr64, GetLastError: 'Attempt to access invalid address.' (Address: 7FF76FF811FA)Ok, that's enough to not spam the forum here.Also my friend was able to run it as well as other people on here who uses windows 10, although yeah his version was actually 1903 not 2004. However my version is:Windows version: Windows 10 2004 (64-bit) build 19041.388I hope that helps, thanks.Edit: I forgot to mention that also not changing any of the options produces the same crash.
