Planet life ios update

This game received a fun update. Derek can wear equipment that gives him different bonuses. I also noticed some of the screens are laid out better, improving accessibility. The change log also says there is something new to do at the end.

This kind of stuff is why I tend to solo muds, and turn off all public chats as soon as I log into a game. I’d love to find a good mud that was more solo focussed.

I really hope that we will be able to do a character reset soon.I am able to log in, but it's been so long since I played the game, I'm completely lost so would like to start from the beginning.I remember loving this game, but had to stop playing because life got in the way. When I finally had the time to try again, the game had already shut down.I looked at my inventory and realized that I don't know what anything is, lol.

I feel that post 2 has it right.I don't mind the idea of real-time combat once in awhile, but I tend to like to think something through and strategize, so I always prefer a turn-based approach. To be fair though, I really haven't seen real-time combat in an audio game done very well. But I tend to be the type of person who likes to think through my choices and strategize.

Re: Mechanic Ideas

Honestly, I would love a game with more exploration and replayability. Combat is all well and good, but I'd love a game that has other aspects to it as well. It seems that most games are completely centered around combat, so that the end goal is always to kill all the enemies leading up to a final boss. I don't mind combat at all, but I would love to see alternate ways of playing a game. I'm thinking along the lines of a game that involves quests that aren't just "go kill this person and bring me what they're carrying." I would also like to see a game where different playthroughs will bring new discoveries. I know that the audio game market isn't one that will probably get a world as large as something like Skyrim, but I can dream. My sighted husband has played Skyrim over a dozen times, and still discovers new things or places in the world.

Problem running the Ensign

I bought this game a long time ago, but never really had the time to play with it much.I wanted to play it, but when I try to run the game, it ends up crashing. I get a message about a defector on the horizon and click ok. Then I'm presented with the map but if I do anything with the map, the game just closes.I'm running the latest ios version and have an Iphone SE 2.I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but no luck.Anyone else having issues running this game?

I really don't understand why people think it's unrealistic that she knows how to use a weapon. Sure, in the medieval setting, most people wouldn't have allowed it, but her uncle is just one person. And that one person wants Alex to be able to defend herself, if it's ever needed.I am a completely blind person, and have been taught how to shoot a gun. I've target shot multiple times, and am actually pretty good at it. If someone were ever to break into my house and threaten me, I feel confident that I could defend myself just fine. You can do a lot more with your ears than most people realize.

Re: Walking vs Running vs Both in A Detective's Demise (and others)

I tend to be the type of player who will move slowly in the first playthrough of a game, so that I get to experience everything that the game has to offer. That being said, once I've done that a time or two, there may be parts I would prefer to move quickly through. There are also different styles of play for different moods. Someone may want a leisurely game one day, and then a more quick-paced game the next.I think that it would make more sense to give the player the choice. You'll actually reach more customers this way. If someone feels that they are forced to take things slowly, they may not be willing to purchase the game.On the other hand, that same person may rush their way through the game but then do another playthrough where they experience the full aspect of the world that was built.Giving players more choices will always ensure that you reach a wider audience.

I agree with post 126 about the accent issue. I never noticed anything that sounded off at all.Actually, accents vary widely in the UK, so even if they were going for a British accent, it wasn't necessarily wrong.A friend of mine from England once told me that you could drive a hundred mile stretch and hear different types of British accents. However, I never got the impression that the game is set in England, so the accent is irrelevant.

Re: The Vale (final?) Demo

I can't figure out the magic demo either. I looked at the keyboard configuration in the game settings so I think spacebar and alt are involved in magic. It says that you need to do some attacks and blocks to build favor but I don't know how to tell if you have done this or not. I'm also having issues with the multiple attacks as well. I think that some of them are shooting arrows to begin with? I just block those, then attack before they can get a weapon attack in. But I inevitably die when getting attacked from all sides. I still haven't figured out how to make the magic work.

The tutorials are found in the main menu under tutorials and demos.Regarding people who have issues with the game not starting, I find that changing anything in the initial configuration windows causes the game to crash. When it comes up, just tab to the ok button and it should work.I haven't gotten very far, so far just did some of the tutorials, but I find these impressive enough. I'm already excited about the game and I haven't even begun the actual game play yet.

Re: Where Are The Audio Gamers?

I'm more than willing to purchase a game, provided that I feel the price point is worth the amount of game play or replayability I can get out of it.There was a time in my life when I couldn't, because I was struggling to find a job in a world that doesn't like to employ blind people. That's a rant for a different topic. I never felt entitled, I simply couldn't make the purchases. Now I am fortunate enough to be in a position where I can do so. That being said, the price needs to reflect the game play.I'm not going to purchase a game similar to Candy Crush for $10 when my sighted friends can get one for free or perhaps $1.99.However, if a game has an in-depth story, and some replayability, I don't mind a higher price. The $20 price tag for A Dusklight Story that has been floated around sounds fair, provided the game has hours of game play and can be played multiple times.I do wonder though, a previous post in another topic said that the ios version of Dusklight would be around $5 and the pc version would be $20.I find myself wondering what the rationale behind this is. Will the PC version just have a lot more content? If so, then this makes sense.I have both a pc, and IOS devices. I actually prefer to play games like this on my PC, but if the price points will be that different, I may have to reconsider that. Now, if the pc version comes with extra content, etc, then that makes more sense.

Re: Where Are The Audio Gamers?

I'm going to respectfully disagree with those that are saying we should focus on mainstream game accessibility.Personally, I love audio games. They're designed to be accessible right away. Taking a visual game and attempting to add accessibility features never seems to work out the same. This is just my opinion. The Last of Us II has accessibility, and it's amazing from what I hear. However, it's only available on playstation. I don't own a playstation, and have no intention of getting one, so won't be able to play this game.Dusklight is going to be available on multiple platforms, which will appeal to a wider audio gaming audience.I have always wanted to play Skyrim. Would I be happy if this game were accessible? Absolutely! However, I really don't see this happening any time soon. Most of the games that developers have added accessibility to tend to be more text-based. Those have their place, and are enjoyable. However, in order to get the really immersive game play I really want, I think I'll have to rely on audio games for the time being.A Hero's Call is the perfect example of this.

Re: Where Are The Audio Gamers?

This will probably be a lengthy response, but I want to make my points clear. All I can say to this is that we audiogamers are around.I'm extremely intrigued by Pitch Black, and you're trailers are awesome. I do wish I had more of a grasp on exactly what the game play will entail. When you launched the kickstarter, I had taken a step back from gaming, because real life got in the way. I had a child in 2015 so now that she's getting a little older, I have a bit more time for gaming, so have recently gotten back into it.I wasn't aware of your kickstarter until just recently, so wasn't able to back it.I'm not entirely sure if I would have backed it had I known about it. I've played the Dusklight demo, and didn't really get much of a feel for what the game will be.I think the binaural audio is amazing, and extremely impressive. However, I think that if you're wanting people to back a game, a little more information about the actual game play would help. You can give more of an idea of game play without actually giving away the whole story. In Pitch Black, I know that we play a rebel who is going against the church. Or at least, that's what I'm gathering from the information that has been released. But what are the mechanics? Will we interact with npc's? Will we be exploring for clues? I know there won't be combat, and actually, this is one of the most intriguing things for me because most games have combat, and it gets old after awhile.I have every intention of checking out the new Dusklight game releasing in a few weeks, as well as the main game coming out at a later date. However, I think that you need to find a balance of promoting your game and getting interest without giving away the whole story. It seems that most of the focus has been placed on the amazing audio, and it seems great enough for that to be part of the draw to the game. But that can't be the only selling point to get people to commit to a kickstarter.Regarding AudioPong, I did not purchase this one. I prefer more story driven games, which is why Pitch Black appeals to me more. Sounds of Eden intrigued me, but it seems more of a walk than actual game play, which is why I didn't get that one either. When the Dusklight titles come out, I'll definitely be interested.

Re: Female blind gamers

I'm a female blind gamer. I've been around off and on on this site for a long time, but between a job and a kid, I don't have a lot of time for gaming. Since I've been spending so much time at home, I've recently gotten back into it. I tend to prefer rpg games, and was so dissatisfied with the lack of decent audiogames in that genre, I stopped playing for awhile. I now have A Hero's Call, which is amazing. It probably has the largest world I've played in, though still not as large as your average mainstream games. I'm disappointed that development on this game stopped. I would have liked to see more from the developer, because I have yet to find a game that matches it. I guess that was a very long-winded way of saying that, yes, female blind gamers are out there. I tend to do more reading of posts than writing since I try to avoid drama at all costs, lol.
