Re: Where Are The Audio Gamers?
I'm going to respectfully disagree with those that are saying we should focus on mainstream game accessibility.
Personally, I love audio games. They're designed to be accessible right away. Taking a visual game and attempting to add accessibility features never seems to work out the same.
This is just my opinion.
The Last of Us II has accessibility, and it's amazing from what I hear. However, it's only available on playstation. I don't own a playstation, and have no intention of getting one, so won't be able to play this game.
Dusklight is going to be available on multiple platforms, which will appeal to a wider audio gaming audience.
I have always wanted to play Skyrim. Would I be happy if this game were accessible? Absolutely! However, I really don't see this happening any time soon.
Most of the games that developers have added accessibility to tend to be more text-based. Those have their place, and are enjoyable.
However, in order to get the really immersive game play I really want, I think I'll have to rely on audio games for the time being.
A Hero's Call is the perfect example of this.
