Re: Calliope version 3.0, more than just a media player That unfortunately is an issue with all of his programs, i believe its something to do with running in compatibility mode or some such i forget the exact option, in properties of the shortcut, run it as win7.As for the spicific solution i cannot provide since this issue has been reported repeatedly and @darter hasn't given us a concrete fix as of now, correct me if i'm wrong though.In any case, I do not think there's any reason to get so fired up haha I'm sure he has many things to do in his life (not to mention) working on the previously reported bugs and implimenting other features that were suggested by the community so please be patient. I started using better softwares like, (discord ftw!) and unigram, and I'm perfectly satesfied.I'm thankful to it every day, with each update, and for the ocasional times i do open it i can see that i did make a very very good decision.If i really need to use skype for some reason or the other i just use the web client, its much better--or the phone clients although that lags as well on android at least. time management advise? Hello.This is something I've been struggling with, but haven't had much success. Either that, or I do succeed to a certain extent, then go back to my usual old self.So, here's the deal.Here in India, there's way way too much educational pressure, and a tuff competition everywhere to boot. This means that not only do we have to take up much more than necessary(me having to study social studies, and at least 4 other subjects which I absolutely do not need to pursue for what I want to be my profession -computer science) but there's a lot of pressure due to the extensive competition (probably due to the overpopulated country).I'm now in my second-last year of school, and after giving the exams of last year I honestly thought it couldn't get any worse, but I was wrong.The curriculum has grown 10-fold, especially with the electives I've chosen, as they finally gave me a choice to not take all the subjects that exist on this planet.So much so, that it took around half a year for me to adjust just to the fast-paced study structure, then there's around 30 chapters in each subject, and each chapter so big that well I no longer find the joke I used to make with my sisters that I could do weightlifting with their books all that funny any more. However, here is the bigger picture.If, these subjects taught me what I wanted to learn, or what I was interested in learning? Then sure, I'll take it, OK so not all that I'm interested in but at least 50%? 40%? However, even after reaching to the end of my school life I still have to study much more than necessary and the ratio of my interests in regards to academics is just 90-10, where the 10% is the computer science subject we're taught that seems to be a bit more advanced then the last 10 years where I was studying ms word, xl, etc etc nearly every year. However, even that's not quite on the level as the python that's taught in school now, is something I learnt on my own, about 3 and a half years ago.So essentially the situation has not changed much, I still have to struggle with the shit pile that doesn't appeal me in the slightest and its becoming quite hard to focus on that because I'm honestly getting sick of it and want to take some time out for what I want to do as well. I've struggled with this for more than 10 years of my life, I don't want to do it anymore, at least not the exact same way. I essentially would just sit at my study table, scratching my ass off, attempting to stay at the top of the class whilst facing the challenges of getting accessible material-often typing entire books myself- and not getting much of a childhood honestly, in regards to toys or games which is not all studies, a lot of it is also to be blaimed on the technological level of our country not quite as advanced as some other countries, but that is most certainly not my point. I do treasure my childhood and the memories just like anybody else and that's not what I intend to discuss, nor am I here to complain. So, back to the point at hand, I want to do something different now, bring achange and manage my time in an efficient way. I want to be able to manage the studies, and also get time out for other hobbies such as coding, sound design, music production, etc. This messy education system is also why I am planning to apply abroad for a Batchelor degree as I simply cannot and will not take this in college, there at least I want to be able to do what appeals me, what fascinates me. So, I do need time to prepair for that as well, since the pattern followed by our country and those that I intend to fly to in 2 years are quite different, plus also giving the Sat's and other exams etc. So, any tips in regards to distributing my time in an efficient way? I do think I need time for everything, as by simply studying, I'll probably go crazy there's just way too much, that I simply have to learn for the sake of learning and getting grades, and I've been able to manage for the last 10 years, but this is just way too much, this is specialisation level stuff, something that is intended for those who are actually interested in their specific fields, such as chemistry. A computer scientist like me does not need to study about periodic tables, bonds, structures, at least not in the depth that its taught, nor the animal and plant kingdoms in such variety that it just comes down to learning the names and their properties whole. Anyway, this post was kind of all over the place but I hope I was able to put across a clear enough idea for you all to understand my situation.Thanks in advance for your responses.Regards. Re: What takes up so much space in Windows10? Windows 10, unfortunately tends to occupy as much space as it can get.I simplly do not see why it needs to take up so much, but it is how it is sadly. I've had to learn to live with this fact after months and months of trying to decrease its size, custom isos, changing locations of several things forcefully through registry, etc.I myself own a 32gb ssd which strangely came with this pc, although the specs only mentioned a 1-tb hdd. In any case, the ssd works quite well when it comes to speed and performance, so i didn't complain and installed the os on the ssd itself, whilst keeping the hdd for data storage. Windows however clearly does not share these sentiments.Constantly, it bugs me about low storage, even after getting rid of pagefile, turning off other unnecessary features that were recomended to me on google, uninstalling bloatware, messing around int he registry, getting myself custom isos. The most i've managed is to make it looze some of its size, for a short while then it just comes back to what it was and i need a reboot to lower it a bit. Even after changing the location of literally everything possible from the ssd to the hdd-temp, appdata, software install locations, windows apps, it still insists on taking space. I have a sneaking suspition that if my space wasn't limited it would take up even more, sighs. Hell, these days its amazing me with going as low as 0.5 to 1% lol. But then suddenly, it overheats then goes up to 100% and everything is messed up. Those who’ve faced the same problems tell me this is not the case when they are on jaws. Idk what to think really. I got 8 gigs of ram as I said and usually stays near 40 to 50% having programs like qc and chrome alongside ms word open. i've had it with NVDA, i think. side-note: forgive me if this sounds like a 12 year old immeture kid throwing tantrums, i'm not in the right mind at the moment. really sick of this shit. lost all most 3 entire days of work due to this "so-called screenreader" and have been all throughout 2018. now, let's get to the...*rant*24/7 lag. pc randomly freezing. overheating. ultra sound breakage. ceriusly, what the fuck is going on. I've hurd people have been reporting and nothing is being done. and this issue isn't recent too, its been going on since ages. starting 2018 i think. i need suggestions as to what to do. i've hurd jaws has become extremely snappy compared to nvda. in all respects. and yeah speaking of that, the lag while brouzing the web with nvda. jees. i can bairly hear what i'm typing. and in case you're wonderring, this isn't some ancient pc neither. intell core i 5 3rd gen, 8 gigs of ram, 512 gigs hdd. 3.4ghz. so yes. i'm really confused as to what the fuck are these devs playing at. i mean, what's the point of making new addons or whatever is it that you're doing when the main software works like shit in the firstplace?really dont know anything more to say. accept this thing is getting on my nerves especially when it happens in school and i miss out on short snippets of work and then i have that to do alongside piles of homework. even right now this is lagging so bad i can bairly hear what i'm typing. this stupid ass screenreader makes me feel like i'm running a fucking seleren processer or something. i need help guys. should i switch to jaws? really considerring that. i mean this year freedom scientific are making tremendous eforts to enhance the experience, what with the picture description and support for math type in office 365 etc. but then again i've hurd that jaws is supposed to degrade your pc's performance overall. or is that history now? i mean, many people still hate jaws with a passion. job opportunities for teenagers? hi there.I got this idea from one of my friends who's taking part in this programming parttime job or something.i'm 15, and my summer wacations star from mid may. i was thinking, how about utilize the time and earn a little money. this is likely to give me exposure for future endevers as well.
