Re: Komplete Kontrol with Reaper?

The thing about Komplete Kontrol is that you won't get to use the accessibility features they have unless you've got one of their controllers like the M32 or the A61 or any of the others they sell. What some people do is get the cheapest controller that Native Instruments sells and use it just for the accessibility features, and then they play their preferred controller.Either way, you just add the Komplete Kontrol vst to a track and load up an instrument in the plugin.

Re: Discussion of the 2020 American Federal Election

I'm just waiting for the one recount to rule them all. You know, the one that somehow declares Trump the winner. Yes, even in states where the election results have been certified. Even if they've already done a recount. This seems to be the strategy. If he keeps serving this stuff, and gets enough people to gulp it down, well, uh, who are the democrats, and the CIA, and China, and whoever else to go against the will of the people, or something. By the way, the evidence, all the evidence, quite literally every bit of the gathered evidence is all in one place. That place appears to be Parler. You'll find everything there from whistleblowers to insiders. You'll also find alleged CIA involvement along with videos linking Biden to China. Add in a random report of voting machines being dumped in swamps. Oh, and affidavits, all those affidavits. Mix well and season to taste. Though if you've really got a taste for this stuff, there's no hope for you. Though at least we're not talking about anyone's emails this time around so I guess there's that.

No, this is not thread necromancy, because the results of this election are apparently still in question. They're apparently still in question because Trump won by "a lot." Not only did he apparently win Pennsylvania by "a lot", he won "all of these swing states by a lot." When talking about the results of something, like an election, for example, I've never heard of a number called "a lot," so could someone who is so inclined offer up an approximation as to what that entails? Also, the election was rigged. He said so himself, so it must be true. Actually, here he is telling us all about it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBEfgrEI7K8

They have no sources, of course, because they hardly ever do. Their man is losing, or has already lost, and they need something that would hopefully invalidate the results and make a recount necessary. What better explanation than fraud of some kind. One tweet I saw in particular talks about democrats counting ballots in PA in secret for 3 days which violated some court order, counties in WI having twice as many votes as there were voters, and even votes cast by dead people in AZ and NV. So, just more news being delivered in exactly the same bullshit fashion it's been delivered for the last few dry, pointless years now. Someone somewhere said it, so it must be true. Pass it on.

Re: What do you think about the Corona virus conspiracy theories?

I hope this isn't seen as a topic-derailing post. I hate conspiracy theories in general. They don't serve any purpose other than to generate outrage. One side isn't any better or worse about this than the other. They both make wide sweeping accusations about one another using gross misrepresentations of the facts. There will always be people who are eager to gobble up whatever comes down the pike and spit it back out at anyone who will listen. Sometimes this means other voices will be added to the echo chamber, sometimes it just means folks will have to talk longer and yell louder. Conspiracy theories are good for people who have a lot of pent-up anger and need a place to put it. I don't see them as being good for much else. What do you do when you latch onto one of these conspiracy theories and ultimately find out you were chasing a figment of someone's imagination? I pretty much stopped following all of this when I realized there appeared to be different versions of the truth. Facts...really aren't supposed to work that way. If we can't rely on any of these health organizations to generate good, clean information, they're worse than useless. They waste time. It really is exhausting to have to try and find the truth among the babble.

I'm starting to see reports of health experts calling for another shutdown. I wondered if it might go like this. We do a shutdown for a couple of months, reopen, cases spike, we shut everything down for a couple months, we reopen, cases spike, we repeat the process with the caveat that each shutdown will be worse than the one that came before. At this rate, the whole country will be out of work by the end of the year. Hell, at this rate, most everyone in the country will be dead by this time next year so I guess unemployment won't be much of a concern if you believe the hype. I just really can't look at the news without being tempted to smash things. I still don't see much other than hopeless helpless sorrow. Worse yet, I don't see much changing other than the names of the hotspots where all the cases and deaths are. New York was the record-holder in this doofus category. Now California is the new New York. Or is it Arizona? Texas? Florida? Same deal, with hospitals being filled beyond capacity with nowhere to put new patients and nowhere to put the dead. All of this really makes me wonder what an end to this pandemic might actually look like...

The only thing that's changed is the names. In March and April, it was New York. Now it's Texas. Same deal though with hospitals filling up beyond capacity with the worst yet to come. After dozens of cases, and hundreds, and thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, and now millions, what's left? At this rate, it won't be long until everyone on the planet is infected. To be honest, using a native instruments keyboard will make a lot of this easier as far as browsing and loading instruments and the like. You'd be using komplete kontrol in that case and not kontakt. What some people do is buy the m32 and use that for the accessibility functions and then just use their preferred keyboard to play. Like I said, lots of little details that are easy to miss, but will make things not work just the same. The track where your instrument is loaded on has to be armed, and monitoring has to be on as well, or you won't hear anything.

The other thing is, is your controller enabled under preferences under midi? Another possibility is that you have to switch your controller to send to a particular channel. Re: Corona Virus: is it the beginning of the end?

The overwhelming message that I keep seeing day by day is that the number of cases and deaths keeps rising exponentially in Italy, and they are now where the rest of the world will be in the coming weeks. Also, it will get worse before it gets better. Those are the two things I see at the end of every report I look at. Italy, with the world's best healthcare system now has more cases and deaths than anywhere else in the world, the United States will be next, and it will get worse before it gets better. Not sure what anyone's supposed to do with that other than stay home and watch the numbers get bigger. And look for toilet paper. And now apparently we have people filming themselves going from store to store coughing on everything they can find. It almost feels like most of the information that's being put out is meant to do little more than get people to feel outrage and panic and then pass it on.

Re: Corona Virus: is it the beginning of the end?

I don't know how anyone can stay up on any of this without losing their religion. This really isn't that serious, except when it's bad enough to kill people. It looks like they've come up with a cocktail of drugs that could be a breakthrough and a game changer, except no, they didn't, not even close. Trump is the very reason things are as bad as they are here because he is an idiot, yet he is also the one man who can and will get us through this because he is exactly what this country needs. We don't have to worry about a shortage of toilet paper even as we check all the stores around town and see the shelves empty. I've heard about people stocking up on cleaning products, and guns and ammo. Guns and ammo? Is that how we're gonna beat this thing? Every day for the past couple of weeks the story has been exactly the same: more new confirmed cases, more deaths, more things locked down, shut down, cancelled and closed, with a reminder that it's worse than it appears, and a dire warning that it will get worse before it gets better, and that the social distancing and sheltering in place will drag on for a few weeks, months, even a year or more. When I see all of this along with suggestions and conspiracy theories involving Trump and the Chinese government, I wish I could just avert my eyes or go to sleep for a year or something.

In the case of Barbra Streisand, she tells them how her name should be pronounced, and it's changed in the next update.

That's because the trial demo is actually an older, and I think different, version from the full one.

Re: List of VST plugins with Reaper and accessibility status and howto

I can attest. EzDrummer does, in fact, have a demo. What's more, it's different from the full version. I had one of the sibiac developers connect remotely to my computer and confirm this by running the scripts and watching the mouse as it was moving around. He had to change the script so that it would run correctly in the demo. I thought he was going to incorporate those changes into an update to sibiac. I'm guessing that hasn't happened yet? My 10-day trial has long expired so I can't check it either way now.

I feel like this topic probably doesn't need to be a thing. It's just begging for the sort of attention we neither need nor want in this forum. I can't see anything good coming from this thread, but that's just me.

Re: I'm leaving as well

If it's true that he's just doing this for attention then why not simply ignore the posts and just keep it moving? Maybe the reaction he generates is the payoff. If that goes away, he'll have to decide to either do something else, or nothing. I don't know the guy, don't play his games and have never had any dealings with him one way or the other, so I'm indifferent as far as that goes. But if it's true that he's just going to try to walk this back in a couple of weeks or whatever, then it seems pointless to say "good riddance" and take parting shots and pile on.

Wait. I know what she does, but not so much. What does she do again? er, wait, I know that... I can't tell if someone is trolling with this one or not. I mean, take a look at some of her other videos? That's basically what everyone who has offered up their opinion about her content has done, or so I'd think. Yeah this thread seems quite silly now. And yet this is my second post to it, so there you go.

Having watched random bits from some of her videos, valley girl sounds like a fair assessment. Plus she's got a video where she appears to be on her way to see not only a psychic, but psychic twins. Oh boy...

Couple things. I think sibiac will work in that window. Also there is an autohotkey script on www.access4music.com that will enable you to click that button and do a few other things.

Re: A question again, but now about Reaper

I did some searching for free vst and sfz libraries and found mostly novelty stuff. Those would be your cookware and cutlery and the like, as well as buckets, cardboard boxes, tin cans, pvc pipe, cabinets and doors and other such miscellanies. There may have also been a meow or bark or an autotuned baby in there along with some cars and horns, but nothing I would want to include in a music project. Somewhere in this farrago you may find a library that just might rival your bog standard high school band in quality, though. Like anything else, you get what you pay for.

Re: What are some things that make you want to yell?

Wow! Post 7 will surely have people coming along who will read it and then treat it with the contempt it appears to richly deserve. Might I suggest a search for "X while black" for various values of X. That should turn up a wealth of things that may change your perspective a bit. And that's just for one minority. As for what makes me want to scream, the thing that has left me tempted to smash things as of late has been Paladin of the Sky. So see? The occasional ninny still buys his games despite his well-earned reputation. The issues with this game are legion and documented elsewhere in other threads by other people, so I won't be taking the time to write a long, drawn-out explanation of my own essentially saying the same things. The game is simply obnoxious. I've gotten to the postgame and have taken to using cheat engine to slow down the game and cheese the scrolls. I've made it to Hell on Earth and can't seem to bring myself to cater to that lunacy any longer since I've gotten a pretty good idea of what it's about: a replay of all the most obnoxious and repetitive parts of a game that's already obnoxious and repetitive from soup to nuts. Whether you play it properly or slow it down by ticking a box in a program, you really are playing beep.

Re: Terrible, Awful, No-good, Very Bad...spelling?

I think it's easier to talk about the spelling errors seen in this community, because they're just so unlike what you typically see in other forums, even from people for whom English is not the primary language. I can't really give examples here without essentially calling someone out even if I don't mention any names. Some of the stuff I've seen in the long bk2 thread for example was that unique. I was always taught that if you don't write well, and you have spelling errors and silly mistakes in what you write, people will think less of you than they otherwise would. So if I'm at all unsure of how to spell a particular word, I look it up. I really think education is just not as much of a priority as it once was. That's how you end up with words like "carnt," and "vister." It sounds right, therefore it must be. Those are just some general examples that I've only seen in the blind community. For me, when I see posts with a bunch of spelling errors, I simply skip over them. They're just disturbing to see. Especially the really outrageous ones. That probably makes me sound like a self-righteous ninny but man, it almost makes me shudder.
