Re: questions for Mac VM's are usually better especially when you have one of the newer intel Macs, cause they work absolutely great and you don't have to create windows partitions which decreases your MacOS partition. On my early2015 MBA windows10 with fusion worked absolutely fine, so I'm guessing it'll be even better on the 2020 models. Re: parallels desktop accessible with VOCR @3 You don't need to use disk utility to use boot camp, as the thing will create a windows partition for you automatically when you go through the assistant. Also, I used to virtualise windows10 on fusion when I had my old MacBook 2015, and it was great, so you may want to try that. parallels desktop accessible with VOCR
parallels desktop accessible with VOCR Hello. For these who want to test a new virtualisation solution for their Macs, I wanted to report that parallels desktop can be completely usable using VOCR.I've actually found out about this in December, but for some reason haven't made a topic about it and it seems like no one else made one as well so here it is.From what I've checked, parallels aims to be as beginner friendly as possible, to the level where you do not even need to go over to Microsoft's site to download windows, it can just do it for you.Personally windows10 virtualisation was ultra sluggish for me, but that's probably due to a lack of intel extended page tables/EPT in my Mac Pro 3,1 early2008.I also tried installing snow leopard server. The first faze of the installation went through without any major problems, but once it rebooted in to the second faze that takes place on the hard disk it kernel panicked.I don't know why, as the dmg of the installation dvd booted just fine.Anyways, those who have an intel Mac, report your tests here, I want to see what you manage to do with parallels. From looking at the options for a win10 VM, it seems like parallels can have very deep integration between the host and the windows guest. Lets use MacOSX10.6 for 7 days as a daily driver
Lets use MacOSX10.6 for 7 days as a daily driver So, I've recently got interested in vintage Macs, and old apple software, more than I was before.I've really had an urge to use snow leopard, and I've seen people making challenges such as using a PPC Mac for 7 days as a daily driver. So, I've got a different idea for those people who still rock pre2011 Macs like I do, lets install snow leopard and attempt to live with it for 7 days, and only using mojave/catalina/bigsur when need be, EG when there's really no work arounds for your work apps, ETC.I thing I'm going to try it.For starters, we need an up to date browser, and that's where arctic fox and tenfourfox step in. These are forks of modern Firefox that are optimised to run on old Mac operating systems. In terms of software, we'll be stuck a little bit, but since most stuff is on the web nowadays we'll be able to use arctic fox for pretty much everything. And, since we're there, why not to go to Macintosh garden and grab something like ilife11, because why not. What do you thing. Getting started in the native instruments universe
Getting started in the native instruments universe Hi everyone. So my brother has just bought me a complete Kontrol M32 for Christmas.A few days ago I've downloaded native access on my Mac, installed all the stuff from the not installed tab, and tried getting complete start which I'm guessing didn't work since the library nor its components were not visible in the not installed tab.Today I've got a complete control M32, activated it, plugged it in to my Mac, and it worked, I could use it in logic.Enabled accessibility, started training mode to get a hang of the keys, and now what. For playing I could have just picked up a generic controller, so I'm curious how I can get in to the native instruments universe for free. Can I do some unique things with this controller I can't do with others excluding accessibility? Is there a way to check if maybe I already got complete start installed? And last but not least, where the heck is the Ableton and sound library keys located? My brother told me there's nothing else in the box except the keyboard serial, and the seller specifically said that the Ableton license and some native instruments libraries are included. Thanks in advance. Re: Best free virus protection for iPhone?
Re: Best free virus protection for iPhone? First question you need to ask your self is the following. If you, unlike me, aren't interested in jailbreaks and use your phone as it arived with no mods, why would you need an anti virus software on your iphone?*Every* app in a normal iphone is sandboxed, so you'll get a virus from the appstore in a very rare case. There are malicious stuff in text messages some times too, so that may be the only problem, but if you use the latest ios build that shouldn't be an issue. A little thing i made because i was bored
A little thing i made because i was bored Hi.I am learning c++ for about 3 months right now, and i had an urge today to make something hilarious like a fake virus installer, or something. Turns out i've made a braillenote apex rip of that rips of other things too.For these who dont like offensive words, dont download. It was made as a joke and it'll stay that way forever. The name it self, poopnote apex+, suggests its just some dumb teen age humor i had a sudden flow off lol.I've made it mostly with skills i've acquired now, which mostly is using iostream and case switches. Its just a second version, i'll add more features like the app not closing when choosing an option from the menu soon.http://stasp.blindcomputing.org/poopnote.zipI'd advice to run it straight from the command line, as it closes righ after displaing the last message that you may want to see. Also, no data is send any where. These are fake url's i made up. This doesn't even have any networking in it, i can send you the code if you wish for proof but i guess most people wil get its a joke. Re: Manjaro talking is now part of the manjaro community editions! @30 You shouldn't need to do that anyways, since architect already has the new talking-gnome and talking-mate profiles which setup orca automatically, they even work with the july iso as it downloads them from the master git repository.Regarding gdialog, yeah. Re: Manjaro talking is now part of the manjaro community editions! Orca works out of the box. Just download the latest image released in july from my source forge, and run it. Then run manjaro architect from the desktop and you should see a question. You need to use orca's flat review for that to work, but new images from now on wil use gdialog so the orca flat review navigation shouldn't be necessary any more when that wil happen. Manjaro talking is now part of the manjaro community editions! Hello.I'm proud to announce that manjaro talking is now part of the community manjaro editions, available at manjaro.org.The iso isn't yet hosted on manjaro.org, but it should be there soon under the community editions download page. You can, however, choose talking-mate or talking-gnome from the profiles list in manjaro architect with the existing manjaro talking image, so any chrooting and enabling systemd services shouldn't be necessary!Hope ya all enjoy. Re: I want to leave windows behind and start my journey with linux! @46 I'd first check if your drivers are supported. If not i'd try to install them. There was an option in ubuntu to do that some where. Re: Stasp Talking Manjaro odditieis
Re: Stasp Talking Manjaro odditieis No, you have to do it the not so great way. Also, the iso's aren't there yet, same as the menu options. I'm stil preparing them. I'll let the community know when everything wil be ready and setup though lol.I believe if you want orca to talk in lightdm you need to place the orca.desktop autostart file in /etc/xdg/orca.desktop, i cant promise it'll work though. If you enabled auto login, you wil need to login only once after installation, which you can do by waiting a few seconds, typing your user name, pressing tab, typing your password and pressing enter.Hope that helps.Edit: You need to place orca.desktop in /etc/xdg/autostart, not just in /etc/xdg. Re: I can't download anything from Github for the life of me All hail git! But seriously, if you learn git, life's easier for you. I've never used github desktop tbh, and i thing i'll start using gitlab for future projects because the master to main thing is stupit. Re: Stasp Talking Manjaro odditieis
Re: Stasp Talking Manjaro odditieis Hi. I'm not exactly sure what's up. Here is what i do when installing manjaro with architect.1: Hit prepare installation and setup partitions and mount them, and get the mirrorlist stuff sorted out.2: I hit "install desktop system" and follow all the steps, after which i press "Chroot in to the installed system" or something like that, i also enable auto login in lighdm before chrooting in the tweaks section.3: In the chroot i run "pacman -S orca espeak-ng" and then i run "systemctl enable speech-dispatcherd" and finish the installation. Also feel free to ask any questions you have about manjaro talking, i'll try to answer them.I'm excited, cause in the near future the manjaro talking iso wil be officially available and manjaro architect wil have an option to install these talking profiles in the menu so all the pacman orca installs and the need to enable speech dispatcher with systemctl wil be gone! Re: I want to leave windows behind and start my journey with linux! Hi guys! I have really exciting news!Yesterday i've reached out to the manjaro team to ask them if manjaro talking can be one of the community distros of manjaro and available for download on the manjaro.org website, and they agreed!I've been granted access to the iso profiles repository, and am now making necessary profiles available. The manjaro architect installer wil be affected too, so you'll get a talking-mate and talking-gnome options in the profile selector!I'm excited tbh URL: https://forum.audiogames.net/post/586785/#p586785 -- Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

Re: I want to leave windows behind and start my journey with linux! I'm guessing the direct link is downloading from a mirror that's not close to you. I know what you mean, i had the "You download is starting" problem too. I'm not sure what its caused by, but imo it may be cookies you need to accept first or something, idk URL: https://forum.audiogames.net/post/586417/#p586417 -- Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector
