The reason for removing the scoreboard server requirement is that, years from now, that server may no longer exist, and he doesnt want to cripple all copies of that game ever downloaded when that happens. If all you can think to say is make super Egg Hunt free, then you are not only showing a complete disrespect for Liam, but also your complete laziness. The more you ask, the less likely you are to get it. Furthermore, you are essentially asking for a crack of the game, which will get you banned from here and other places.While we all understand that you ordered the game and cannot find your registration information, We cant believe that you actually did buy the game without proof. If you had proof, you would already be working on getting a replacement key for the game or would ve gotten it already, and subsequently would not be bugging Liam and pestering him for a free version of the game. It would be great if we could just assume you were telling the truth, but we cannot. It would be all too easy for you to simply lye and say you ordered the game when you did not. So if you cant prove your original purchase, you will either have to do without the game or buy it again. Thats simply how the system works. You are making it worse for those customers who do know how the system works and who are willing to live by its rules without persistently grumbling for them to be changed.If youre really ambitious, why not take out your frustration at not being able to have the game, and make your own? BGT is now officially freeware so there is no excuse for you not to try it if you havent already. If you cant figure it out, try to learn. It would be a good experiment to see what you can do with your new skills, or at the very lea st, you may just learn that game creation is not for you. My point is, go do something about it instead of showing your complete ignorance. Ukio did a similar thing with Judgment Day. He could not buy the game because of a localization issue or something,so he made his own game called World of War. That game is actually a good game, and it is free. It may not sound as good, but it is equally fun and while you can tell it was directly inspired from Judgment Day, it is still very different in its own ways. Just like Judgment Day was inspired from the space Invaders games before it. ON top of this, Ukio was not accused of stealing anything, because he only borrowed Judgment Days concepts and then took it his own way.So, even though I have made myself look like a complete fool by acknowledging your behavior and spelling this out in this fashion, I have at least done all that can be done. X1, which should be hard to beet, isnt like that. Hes not hard I know, but he takes more time to kill: about 2 to 3 minutes with me. Many sounds were changed in the free version 1.1, especially the sand footsteps, the bear sounds, some of the robogard sounds, the sewer sound, the fan sound, the barrier sound, but the most thing that excited me is the big changes in X1s level, I mean the sounds: his force field and the tracking laser, all gave the game a new taste. First I had issues with one of the lasers and the bottomless pits being so close together, then right after that there was another set of pits that were exceptionally close together as well. The rest of the game was moderately easy, given particular things I shall bring to your attention should you care to use them to your advantage.SPOILERS! AHEAD! READ! AT! YOUR! OWN! RISK!For those of you who do not remember the original super Liam, there is two bonus levels you can enter, one found in act II of the suburban streets and one in act II of the waterworks, which make getting through those 2 places a rather simple process. I am pleased to report that this and any other bonus material still seem to be working properly in this version of SL. go to the edge of the first drain in either one of those places, then jump and quickly tap three times on the right arrow. You will fall through to the bonu s levels, which, on top of having no monsters has tons of extra items for you to gather to further help you along with your game. It contains both danger and delight, but its generally fun if you know how to handle it.New sounds you say? hmm, maybe I should try this again.Water works was a pain for me too, the pits I didnt really have too much of an issue with.X1 isnt all that hard either, in fact the hardest boss IMO apart from the escape levels is probably the laser bot, and even he is very predictable once you get the hang of it. In the readme it says wildbot is one of the hardest bosses in the game but hes probably the easiest, assuming youre patient (he does take a while to kil and thats a process you basically cant speed up). Although unfortunately I beated super liam 3 years ago the illegal way, and thats so shameful for me to say cuzz I didnt got it as it should be, I consider it a nice game. Dont forget, guys, he had to go into code he probably hadnt touched in several years and strip out the registration functionality. He wanted to make sure there wasnt some other part of the game that, hed forgotten, depended on that code, or that he didnt create any bugs in the process of modifying the code.Also, he removed the online scoreboard posting functionality, which I assume is for two reasons. First, when the registration system went, so did the ability to know the players name for scoreboard posting purposes. Second, this version is now future-proof, in that it no longer depends on the existence or proper functioning of an external server for any of its functions, and theres no chance of it crashing or doing anything else unwanted if, say, the L-works.net domain ever expires and gets bought by a company that throws tons of ads on it. In that way, people who havent bought the games cant play them forever, I mean the full versions. I respect Liams full time job, and the money he recieved from the community is a sign of respect of his hard work. But hes not willing to release them as freeware or abandonware because he consider that as punching those who bought them in their faces. Im not with that opinion since many people arent allowed to buy SL and JD from now on. So Liam, if you cant continue selling them, as I think youll do in the end, just release them as freeware or try to re-write them in BGT and have an automated registration system like in Super Egg Hunt, which I was happy to recieve the unlock key directly after filling all the informations. If this is the case, then an early warning about the planned stopping of sales would be highly illogical. Because then first Liam would say you only have a month to buy these games before they will no longer be sold, and after that the games would be freeware. No one would buy the games in that month because if they wait, they can get it for free. A system like that doesnt make sense, people would feel ripped off. thats what the donate button is for. So if hes still not sure whether he wants to make them downloadable, no warning at all is probably the better choice.I bought both games very soon after they were released and quite frankly, making the games free doesnt feel like a slap in the face to me at all. Perhaps it might for those who have bought the game more recently, I cant speak for them of course but I have no problem accepting that things like this can always happen.
