You're getting your games mixed up a little. There is no Killer Instinctfor PS4... and the one you are probably looking for is the most recent one, which has three seasons of content but as Simba said, can be purchased as a complete bundle.

Re: Mainstream playable Games: Non-Fighting?

Good morning.Quick rundown of killer instinct titles.Back in the day, you had killer instinct 1, killer instinct 2 and killer instinct gold, these are the older killer instinct titles. The new one is an exclusive pc and xbox one title, it's also available on steam since a few months. The different season resemble character packs which were released for the new ki, it started as a free game with characters you could purchase, there were 3 seasons of characters till now.You can also get a definitive edition, which holds all 3 character seasons pluss two aditional ones.Personally speaking, I like the new ki the most out of the bunch, it hits quite hard, literally, it has an awesome gameplay feeling, and the soundtrack makes it a hundred times better, as long as you are a fan of metal and electro beats.Greetings Moritz.

So, just out of curiosity, which killer instinct version is the best and most accessible?  Isn't there a version for XB, PC, and PS?  And I'm seeing several different ones.  Killer instinct, KI 2, season 3, then different editions.  Which ones are the most accessible, and for what platform?

Win Kawax also does a good job with emulating cps1, 2 and neo geo systems. And sterlock hit it pretty much on the head when he mentioned that certain games work better on emulators. Or, in some cases, one rom may work with one emulator but not another.

Re: Mainstream playable Games: Non-Fighting?

Fusion is a great accessible sega emu  that runs most old school consoles from them such as genesis, 32x, sega cd, master system and gamegear. Visual boy advance does gameboy, gameboy color and gameboy advance. There are 9 consoles compressed into 2 emulators for ya, and there are accessible games on every one of em. As a heavy old school gamer, I personally do not have more than 1 emu that emulates at least 1 system well. O and final burn alpha emulates cps1, cps2 and neo geo.

Also some emulators will make certain games sound a little different.Double Dragon for the sega mastersystem comes to mind. When I was playing with kodi's emulator support, it asks you which emulators to use before running the game. For the double dragon example, there was a mastersystem emulator and a gamegear emulator. Some games even had up to 5 emulators to pick from.

Re: Mainstream playable Games: Non-Fighting?

@68. Get used to the reality of multiple emulators. Arcade machines have had some multifunction emulators, but why would you expect to have one emulator for a set of consoles that all operate differently and have different operating systems? lol. If anything it's the other way. I know people who have multiple emulators for the same console. But just like having the real physical systems.. if you want to play games on a specific console, you'll either need the physical system or in this case, the equivalent emulator.

I finally got ePSXSE to work.  Damn thing kept opening, then just closing for no reason whenever I opened a game.  Somehow by going to options > CPU overclocking and choosing x1, it fixed it.  Apparently it's a fix specifically that has something to do with Windows 10.  Not sure why I'd need to do this given that I have an I7 processor, which probably would beat the hell out of a PS1 console processor, but hey, it works.  I just hope the overclocking doesn't hurt my processor.  Now to see if my controller will work.  Assuming I can get it to work correctly, where do I actually find game play information on MG solid?

Once kodi V 18 is released, you will have another option for emulators.I was able to play streets of rage 2 for the megadrive, genisis for the people in the US, and double dragon for the mastersystem.Configuring a controler was quite easy, the kodi screen reader was able to read the wizard to set up the control pad reasonably well.I know you asked for non fighting games, I just used those as an example.Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any playstation games to work, I'm hoping that will be fixed by the time kodi is out of beta stage.

If you can get a psx emulator on your pc, consider trying fisherman's bate 1 and 2. The first doesn't announce weight and snagging a fish before reeling it in is a little tricky but its still manageable. The second one is for sure manageable and I only had sighted help to adjust the time limit but I beat it without help on my psp.Speaking of which there is an entire thread devoted to accessible psp games on this forum. Re: Mainstream playable Games: Non-Fighting?

I'm actually shocked about that.  Was Diablo originally on PC, and then console became an afterthought?  That's the only way that it makes sense not to have controller support on the PC, since a controller would otherwise just sort of go without saying if it was originally on console and then expanded to PC, since then the common thing would be to include controller support, since anyone who originally played it would have used a controller.  Ah well.  Just seems a weird oversight to me.

Re: Mainstream playable Games: Non-Fighting?

@post 20 I don't remember where I found my walkthrough and I'm not interested in uploading it either. Feel free to send me a private message with your email address and I'll send it to you along with my personal notes to get through certain parts. If you don't have a controller you will need to use the mouse and I don't recommend it.

Re: Mainstream playable Games: Non-Fighting?

Is Resident Evil fighting?  I've never played it, though I had one friend who did.  Do I need any extra software or do I need to make any PC modifications to install it and play it?  And which ones in the series can be played?

I also played about a third of both playdead horror sidescrollers: Limbo and Inside. You'll need a walkthrough beside you to see what's going on, so it's really not that accessible and I couldn't progress at some point in both games, but the sound atmosphere and style of the games are great.

Re: Mainstream playable Games: Non-Fighting?

If you have the patients and drive space, Rock band 3 can be played on the PC through emulation with DLC. The sad thing being that this ends up being a more complete version than rock band 4 at the end of the day. If you want to scratch your rhythm gaming itch but can't be bothered setting up dolphin, There is a community mod of guitar hero world tour that crams about 800 songs into the game that also plays fine on windows 10. Both of these can be set up to use keyboard controls should you lack the hardware.

Well, as he clearly stated he hasn't tried re7, so, how should he give a yes or no answer to that question? I heard some people playing it, never got my hands on it though myself.

Mainstream playable Games: Non-Fighting?

2018-11-01 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : JLove via Audiogames-reflector

Mainstream playable Games: Non-Fighting?

So, I want to know if there are any games that we can play that are not directly of the fighting genre?  I'm not saying that fighting games are bad.  Hell, I like fighting games sometimes, when I just want to whoop someone's ass and blow off steam, but I really want to play some games that actually have a story, goals to accomplish.  Looking for games that might be playable on PC primarily, as at the moment I do not have a console, but you can list console games as well, since I plan on getting a console in the near future.  Thanks.
