Re: a link to the last beta of misteries of the ancients please

I'd like to say a few things to this topic:The problem with this game or rather the apparently separate titles of Tomb Hunter and Montezuma's Revenge/Mysteries of the Ancients is that there is a huge lack of any news.I seriously mean, since the game development is ongoing in the background, the old beta could have stayed on the USA Games site in the first place.Even if we could get access to all publicly released beta versions for the purpose of seeing how the game changed over the years that would be nice if at all possible, since I can remember that in some versions we had to fight wolfes or zombies, so there are (level) differences between the versions...But the other fact is that I haven't seen any news here, on the USA Games site or in the Audyssey list which tells me what is happening to Mysteries of the Ancients and in what way it has already changed since the last public beta was released years ago.The last official USA Games n
ews post on either of the above mentioned services has also been months ago.People are asking if this project is ultimately canceled or if it is continuing because they haven't heard from USA Games in that regard for a long time.Point is that some kind of status update would be nice as well as at least putting out one or more of the older versions to check.I personally am fully aware what the terms "concept Demo" or "alpha/beta version" mean and that there can be problems running them. And if I get told what the next version might have or what is different between old and next version I won't go in there under false assumptions either.

Re: a link to the last beta of misteries of the ancients please

@Tward:Your points seem quite fair - if you  (or whoever's hosting the game) puts a disclaimer on the download page saying its no longer supported, and users want to contact you anyway, then imo you're being more than fair if you just ignore their messages (as opposed to sending a reply that says "can't you read... leave me alone").That said, I'm personally of the opinion that MOTA's a great game - concept demo or not - and people really do want to play it. There are a lot of topics like this one, where somebody's trying to get a hold of it because of that fact, and I feel that by not allowing them to have direct access to it, you're basically just encouraging it to be distributed under the table.

Being one of the original people who tried to purchase Monty back in the Alchemy days, well, my mother Nathalia did for me as a gift, at least the $38 was refunded back.Yes, I will miss the Tomb Raider idea, which was truly fun to experience, and to share the many sounds and music I found online for it, just happy that a game is coming soon in the future, and that's what matters.PS. Trenton Matthews, is my "real" name.

Re: a link to the last beta of misteries of the ancients please

I would like to clarify a few points just so everyone is on the same page regarding the game and its beta. Although, I have said I'd put the old beta up on the site, was in fact intending to do so, I have serious reservations about posting the old release for a number of reasons. One, I have realized that offering public betas as I did was a huge, huge, huge mistake on my part. For one thing a lot of people want to continue playing the old betas despite bugs and other issues I want absolutely nothing to do with. I don't want to support those old versions of the game because they are totally different from the current development release. For example, take end user suggestions. One thing about releasing a game to the general public as I did I'm likely to get a flood of end user suggestions. That isn't bad in of itself, but the problem is those betas are so old, so different from the current development release, that a lot of the suggestions can not r
ealistically be implemented or simply do not apply to the current development builds. Point being it takes up both my time and their's if I have to e-mail the person back saying it was a good idea, but I can't use it because the game is totally different now compared to the beta they are playing. Therefore while their idea would have been good a year or two ago it can't be used in the current builds. Two, the new Mysteries of the Ancients is a totally different game now from the one you know based on the prior betas. What happened is I have never felt right about just dropping or abandoning Montezuma's Revenge, don't feel right about screwing the customers that paid for that game, so scrapped the Tomb Raider type clone in favor of a game more like Montezuma's Revenge. As a result it is a temple exploration/treasure hunting game kind of on par with Montezuma's Revenge, Pitfall, and other games of that sort. I have a feeling some customers are g
oing to be angry, upset, and perhaps a bit peeved with me for dropping the Tomb Raider type theme, but it was the best I could do to give people what they actually paid for.Three, the game you knew as Mysteries of the Ancients hasn't been abandoned per se. I've changed its name and have altered it in some pretty different ways as well so it too isn't quite the same thing as you know based on the betas. Although newer builds of Tomb Hunter have more in common with the betas than does Mysteries of the Ancients.Bottom line, I'm not totally apposed to putting up the old betas, but I want it understood that those are concept demos only. The actual game or games being developed based on those betas are different, have had a lot of work put into them since the last beta came out, and I'm not about to start over or just rip out the changes just because people want something more like the old betas. That isn't going to happen. So please appreciate
I am concerned of what the public reaction will be once people realize what they will be getting now is not anything like what was released before.

Re: a link to the last beta of misteries of the ancients please

I sware I'd posted a response to this topic when it came out... apparently not. Most of what I'd said has already been covered. The dev has said he's intending to put a version up on his site a few times over the last several months, but nothing's materialized, at least to my knowledge (there was no download on usagamesinteractive.com when I wrote this response originally). He's requested that the game not be distributed due to the fact he doesn't want to field support requests for a beta product that's no longer in development.

Hey manI have the game but, I don't know if it is legal to share it here or not since Tword doesn't want it two be out as shown I think, so we can talk about that on skype, I can't put a link for it here since this is one of the man's rights.
