This sort of problem happened another time, and I think updating mod the spire was what fixed it. I'm using 3.18.0 right now. I tried toggling all the mods on and  off again, but the communication mod doesn't toggle like the others. Is the latest mod the spire verison 3.18.0?Edit: yes, I'm using 3.18.0 and communication mod says I need 3.18.11. It's in the description field of the mod info panel. I updated to 3.18.2 via the steam workshop, but had to move the new mod the spire.jar file into the slay the spire installation folder, because if you try and just launch it from the workshop directory, it says cannot find desktop 1.0.jr

@necrozmaRuns auto save often, usually at the start of each floor. Even if the game crashes your progress is saved. Do note that as a roguelike losing a run is permanent and you will need to start a new one.

@necrozmaCustom mode is supported. After unlocking it in game, you can find custom mode in the play menu. Custom mode options and how to toggle them should appear in the Event and Choices windows.

The death and victory screen crash should be fixed now. I was not able to reproduce the abandon run crash. I know it exists as multiple people have told me of it but I don't know if its been fixed already or if its caused by certain mods. I've only test with base game so far.If anyone runs into more crashes let me know what caused it along with the logs and if you are using mods which ones.

The analogue stick doesn't move the mouse directly as such. Just to clarify, you didn't map the stick to the mouse directly with some kind of controller emulator software right? The game has its own controller mapping which will work much better in theory. Also does your pc's specs meet the minimum requirement for those of the game (as per its steam page)?

Hi,I'm just wondering if anybody else has had this problem? When I use read the spire, it only works once after I unzip it. I've added the folder I'm unzipping it into to windows defender, but that hasn't seemed to help. I suppose I could just keep the zip folder in there and constantly re unzip and delete it. I figure there must be a solution to this that isn't stupid though.

Hello there all. Anyone noticed with the latest update of both the mod and slay the Spire, when you die, game like crashes? Not sure if there is a fix for this or not but just pointing this out. This happens after a monster kills you and the game just closes. No death screen or anything like that.

@gamer95440On the Mod the Spire window you need to subscribe to all the mods. You might need to activate the Java access bridge first. You should be able to find a select all option even if you can't find the individual mods. Once you do that and start the game, the settings will be saved and you can just hit enter on future sessions.

Hi, sory for my bad English.I just  bought Slay the Spire on steam, and took on the workshop the MOD SlaytheSpire (I clicked subscribe) in the workshop page.I also took the other two mods (BaseMod) and the other Mod that must be taken (by clicking on subscribe too).Unfortunately when I run the game, I don't get any playback from NVDA. I used OCr and started a game, but apparently it doesn't read anything onthe dungeon map. Should NVDA also read the main menu (the character list too)?Also, the game is in English. Is this normal?Thank you for your help

@darkblade 98The Animator mod is not currently supported and is one of the more complicated ones. I can take a look at Hololive but a quick glance tells me that it is likely complicated as well. I'm not saying I'll never try to add support for them, just that it'll be a while for me to find time to work on it.

@keyIsFullYesterday's update supported the Thorton mod. I didn't find much that didn't work out of the box so there were minor changes. Business Cards, Investments, and Run are displayed in Player. Card text removed theThorton tags. I did a glance over the new event's code and didn't see anything weird so they should all work but I didn't confirm in game. If you find anything that doesn't work let me know.

Hello, as stated before, when running the launcher, I cannot use object nav at all with NVDA. access bridge is enabled, and it was working just fine a few days ago. I don't know what else I can try. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling java, restarting my computer, I even tried to see if I couldn't restore my computer to an earlier time but alass, , I don't have any restore points so I can't do that. I've tried your suggestions above and still didn't work. I don't have replay the spire installed but that's one of the mods I'm thinking about getting to work. Yes, hitting enter on startup without doing anything launches everything just fine so that at least still works.

@Jonnyboy1991Selected mods should be remembered from last time so unless you want to change which mods to use you can just hit enter.If you do want to use mods, worst case scenario you could just subscribe and unsubscribe, and use check all which should be clickable even if you can't see the list of mods. Do note that constantly changing subs is sketchy as several people have run into issues with subbing not working right.There was a previous comment that mentioned that ReadTheSpire can help you navigate the ModTheSpire window. I'll copy it here:If you have rts.exe installed, open it, then shift tab once to the list, then use your NVDA numpad 2 to go into the list, then press that keystroke again to find the checkbox, use NVDA plus numpad enter to click it and it will be unchecked. using NVDA plus 4 and 6 will move you through the list of mods but you'll hear 1 of, then the amount of mods, to find out what the mod is, NVDA 2 into the mod, then NVDA 6 until you here the name.

When I got everything working a few days ago, I was able to navigate the mod launcher just fine with NVDA and object nav, now I can't even do that any more. Thank you for the last two posters comments. When I click subscribe, no errors are appearing, except as has been stated if I select the wrong model first. It’s so baffling! I go onto the page for mod the Spire, but when I click subscribe no errors or occurring, if I go to base mod first, then it will say that mod the Spire is required first. now, I don't even see the workshopñumber in the folder mentioned so nothing is working, assume something is blocking these from downloading, I am logged in to steam, the client is open, my subscribe link, is not changing to unsubscribe, and, if I start with mod the spire which has a shortcut on my desktop so must have already gotten that, it has an error dialogue which I can't even read. I don't want refund the title just want to play! frustrating, as the actual game loads, have tried the main slay the spire title, just note the mods are like 1 to 2 meg each from what can tell, so not big. very very odd.

@wlomas when you click the subscribe link and if nothing happens check the very bottom of the page for a possible error message. It is possible that such a message appears but since the accessibility on that page is not perfect your screen reader does not get the information that a message has appeared. You just have to know that it might appear and check it from the bottom of the page. Possible errors are for example that you are not logged in or you are trying to subscribe to a mod which requires another mod. For example you have to first subscribe to modthespire and only when that is done can you subscribe to basemod.

When I select subscribe though, even with the steam client open, it is not showing me a download progress for any mod, nor am I able to see an unsubscribe option, even if it has worked. will just wait a while for eachmod but thought the mods were small?

@wlomasI have experienced sometimes that subscribed mods only downloaded when the steam client is open, not just logged in. It also takes some time. If that doesn't work, try unsubbing and resubbing.

Nothing. Press subscribe, and if the mod isn't subscribed once you click it a message pops up below the subscribe link that says that you may need to restart the game for it to take effect.  From their, launch mod the spire and check the boxes.

@wlomasFrom your steam location, if you are on windows its likely in Program Files (x86), the jar files are in Steam\steamapps\workshop\contentFrom there the folders are named based on their workshop number. This level the numbers are for games. Slay the Spire is 646570. After that there is a folder for every mod you subscribe to with the jars they come with.This info is more important for confirming they are downloaded. ModTheSpire automatically checks these locations for mods. The next step is after running mts-launcher.jar, a window will appear with a play button and a list of unchecked mods. You might not be able to see the list but you should be able to find a check all button.If you really want to fix the issue of not seeing the list, you try to use ReadTheSpire along with turning on the java access bridge. There is a more detailed explanation somewhere in this forum. I'll go look for it.After you check the mods you want to use, hit play. Any future times you run mts-launcher.jar, the same mods will be loaded and you just need to hit enter.

Hey guys. For today's update I had cleaned up the help function a bit and moved it and the tutorial to a json file and set it up so potential translations would be possible. My plan right now is to just translate the text connected to the base game, help and tutorial, and leave my mod notes English for now as more notes could be added later. I also only plan to alter descriptions and not commands as altering commands would involve change a lot more code than is worth it.

Not to mention the way Text the Spire uses multiple windows it would unreasonable on mobile. The mod would have no be made specifically for mobile.However, I recall there being a communication style mod that lets your phone communicate with a PC playing Slay the Spire and effectively play Slay the Spire mobile. So it turns out there is a gamebraking issue where if you are not running Downfall the mod won't load. I reverted back to the last version for now.

Hey guys.Today's update fixed some of the issues with the Downfall mod. If you encounter anymore let me know.I am also experimenting with supporting different OS, win 32 bit, mac, and linux. I figured out how to package the mod into different versions with the corresponding Standard Widget Toolkit so the windows should work on those OS. I do not know how modding would be different on those OS and I do not have devices to test with. So when you start, there are I think four save slots you can pick from. i set one up. Can i use another one if I want to have somebody else try the game? If so, how do I do that? I don't readily see a way to pick another slot. Oh and of course, if you can, once it's made, how do I switch back to mine from the new one?

After some digging around, I got a list of known issues with the Downfall support.Choice display and commands aren't working in the merchant fight.The 3 heads event has an option to fight them and get all 3 options. The options appear the combat reward screen as "card" but function normally. Gremlin Wheel event doesn't work as you can't press the button.Apparently there are events with confirm or cancel buttons that do not appear. Base game events do not have those buttons so it makes sense they don't work. I have not been able to replicate so I cannot confirm.The bosses should display which cards in hand they are planning to use but I haven't figured out a way to determine which.There is an event where you can hire some thugs for the 3rd boss. I do not know how this looks and it definitely hasn't been supported yet. You might be able to just ignore it though.I do not know if the ending is the same layout. If it is different it might cause problems.

Thanks! It doesn't show in choices, not that I can tell anyway. I don't know what I did before because I don't think I've ever typed that in. I'm just happy I got it mostly working, I fought with it for a chunk of last night and a chunk of today, of course the fact that I got very little sleep for some reason probably didn't help fighting with it today. It's a great game and a great mod. I'm really digging it, even with all the fighting I had to do.

@khomusAfter you select a character you input "embark" to start a run. It should list that as a command in Choices. If it doesn't then the display isn't working right but the command should still work.

man, Slay The Spire is fun, but setting it up makes me feel pretty dumb.So here's a question. When I run Text The Spire and everything loads, I get choices. People say to enter start charname in the prompt, but that does nothing for me. So I type play. I type standard. Then I type, let's say thesilent. That's selected. Now what do I do? how do I actually start the game?The sad thing is that it started once. But I have no idea what in the world I did to make that happen. My last game got started when I was messing with my controller in Say The Spire that doesn't work, I need to buy an X-Box controller for that I guess. But since I managed to start a game, because some of the controller works, when I ran Text The Spire, I could just continue. I ran The Silent and got up to, I think, the ninth floor of the first act, farthest so far. Really fun game, and thanks for the mod Wensber! I'll probably pick up a controller, but I'm going to learn both Say and Text The Spire. Gives me multiple ways to play and I don't have to depend on dragging a controller everywhere.

@LirinThe problem is that my mod bundles the library in the mod. I will have to either find a way to make ModTheSpire let us place the library in the mod folder to load alongside the mod or a way to bundle multiple versions of a library and to use the right one. I kinda doubt the last one will work and if both fail then I'll have to make multiple versions of the mod.

@aaron77So in the base game events do not have cancel or confirm buttons. I looked at the Serpent_Evil event in downfall and I didn't see a major difference between it and normal events. I will have to encounter it before knowing the issue. If you find any other events with this issue can you let me know?

@LirinIt is possible to display a card's text by inspecting it. From hand it is h [index]. From the master deck it is deck [index]. From a choice it is c [index].As for the crash, the main error is this:Cannot load 64-bit SWT libraries on 32-bit JVMThis means that none of the windows can appear. SWT is the Standard Widget Toolkit and is what the windows run on. The actual crash was when the mod tried to update a window that didn't exist.@aaron77I already have an idea for the merchant issue. I had to do some weird checks cause the room is still considered a shop room. I'll have to look into the event issues.

So, I just played with Say the spire and I have a question: Is it possible to gather informations like knowing what curse is doing exactly usiing text the spire? As far as I know you don;t have any context info about cards or well, curses, relics etc. That would be a HUGE disadvantage as when playing say the spire everything is just clear without any extra knowledge  from wikis etc.
