[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Ax 4.0 run as doesn't work
Dear All, I wonder why some clients of our network can't run Ax 4.0 using run as command while some others can. Currently we are used to login with local client credential. When need to connect an Ax 4.0 instance in the network, we just right click Dynamic client select run as, specify network domain credential and it works. However, some of our colleagues failed with error message saying can not find the server. Has anyone experienced the same ? How is the workaround ? Thanks and regards, Agus [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Table browser without X++ license code
Hi everyone, I recall sometime ago there was postings for an xpo project (or the like) that provided a table browser without the need for X++ license code Can anyone point me to where to get it or if not how to get a table browser in standard Ax without X++ license as my customer would very much like to have such a function Thanks James James Flavell CITP Pte Ltd Singapore Tel: +65 97582281 www.columbusit.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Thanks Harry, Your reply is good :) ...just not quite good enough for my customer :( They want to have the option appear in the drop down menu when they right click on the datasource of a form design in AOT. RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Customers and Vendors in CRM
Yes you add them as a relation type and you can convert them into Customer or vendor types. In 4.0 dependent on whether you have enabled it in the CRM parameters You cannot import them into CRM directly as customers or vendors, you could import them as relation types and then convert them, however it have to be done manually for each one, so it may make more sense to import directly into the customer/vendor tables. They should then be synchronized automatically into the business relation table. Best regards David Probst Program Manager This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties, and confers no rights. Hi Harry, thanks for the response. I can't find the line in any of the BoM journals (there isn't a BoM journal associated with that particular production which has not been registered). I saw one earlier response to this type of problem by fvatne where it was suggested that the problem can be a result of mismatch between different dimensions. Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Production closing error: Quantity ordered may not be reduced, as there are
Hi, I am not sure if you have already solved this. Can you please check the InventTransID of the problemed Line, to see if that exists in inventTrans table with status 'Onorder' and the same line exits in InventJournalTrans table?. I beleive the journal posting is incomplete/errored/messed up and didnget updated properly. or if are a techy guy, you might want to put in a debug point near and around Inventmovement / upd classes/subclasses to see where irs erroring out. Try not to change dimensions its messy and torublesome. It is possible but you usua;y either have to take out all the stock, close the inventory, change dimension setup and bring back in everything. Of course it depends on the dimension is used for what physical, financial etc If I remember correct enabling is better than disabling (if disable then those existing wil get stuck with the values they have in that dimension and then its impossible to change them once disabled and so you might not be able to use them!) Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Inventory Dimensions
Hi, I think since you are starting and trying put a layout plan for AX implementation. I think the first and foremost thing which should be planned is to define your Inventory. I agree to what James has said, it leads you into problems when you disable the inventory dimension. Normally my approach would be to define and categorize the Inventory (classify), once you do that job, you know which items need warehouse/location combination (inventory / Spares), which items need only warehouse (misc. Items, expensed items), and which Items need further more dimension breakdown like warehouse/location/batch/serial You can edit dimensions but the process of correcting transactions is painful, and you don't want to go there. Also you need to take care of the Physical / Financial as mentioned by James. - Original Message From: James Flavell [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Axapta-Knowledge-Village@yahoogroups.com Sent: Monday, January 22, 2007 9:14:22 AM Subject: RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Inventory Dimensions Try not to change dimensions its messy and torublesome. RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Inventory Dimensions
Hi Faiga, You must active dimension which you need to track for items. Otherwise you have to fill all the dimensions while you are entering dimensions. And once they are selected and changed the data inside become a trash. So make your analysis carefully when selecting them. Editing dimension is a privallage of Axapta. You can change or split the dimensions of the inventory data that has posted, invoiced or packing slipped. Hope being helpful.
