[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Capacity

2009-10-28 Thread Craig Fidler
Hi All,

Wondering if I am missing something. Ax4

On the route under formula you can either choose Standard or formula.

Now by way of example:

I have an item (A) that takes 5 minutes to produce on work center 1, however to
takes 7.5 minutes to produce on work center 2.
Item B takes 10 minutes to produce on work center 1 and 30 minutes on work
center 2.

How do I get Ax to see the difference?

Hello.

At our site we ARE able to print to a PDF if we are on Terminal Services.

We CAN print to PDF if we log into an XP work station as the XP administrator.

PROBLEM : We can NOT print to PDF from Ax 4 if we log into the XP machine as a
regular (non-administrator) user.

Network support provided the XP user with administrator rights for a particular
XP machine - still no luck.

Note that in all cases the user has Ax group of Administrators, so there should
be no security issue from Ax itself.

TIA

Chances are the log file is what is consuming so much space - you will need
to back up the log file then invoke the shrink function - you may have to
repeat the process several times with a DB that size.

Just use LedgerJournalTrans table , here you can enter transactions for
vendor/customer/ledger account using account type.

Hi All

My client wants to change the Primary currency mid year. Has anyone handled
this scenario earlier and can mention the steps which needs to be performed
to bail them out of this situation.

As far as i can think of, we would need to take care of:
1. Ledger balances
2. FA balances
3. Bank balances
4. Customer balances
5. Vendor balances
6. Inventory Costs.

Any help will be great.

Another option is part of the IEM IBI solution that can be bought
separately, from To-Increase called Workflow. I have deployed and
customized this at a few clients now and it works great. Integrates well
with all Standard AX, plus email, Alerts, etc. etc. Can have complex

Hi,

Just to add around the costing side. If you add a new inventory item and do
not enter the cost of the item on the item master and you are using
quarantine orders. The cost of the item that ends up in your warehouse (not
quarantine) is incorrect.

Tany, James,

Are you absolutely sure, that marking is not attached ?

Please check from sales line / purch line form , button Stock/Invent, menu
item Marking...

Our users in one of our companies are actually using marking without even
knowing. This happens, if you create a sales order line and from that line
selects Functions + Create purchase order. Then the two lines are marked
automatically by Axapta.

We have seen this costing issue on a regular basis, but it all comes down to
marking... Once marking(s) are removed, costing works fine.

Running Ax 3.0 SP4

Jens

Check do you have any marking on the items that came back to MH from the
Quarantine warehosue. Check on the inventrans that are split, genreral
tabpage field ReferenceLot has a value?.

Other times inventtrans can be split is during onhand revaluation. If you
have a trans that is 100 but only 80 are settled the onhand revalaution will
force the splitting of the inventtrans into closed and open qty
transactions.

Apart from that I am not sure but would be interested to know of any other
reasons.. Thanks James

Hi Everyone,

We're using the Quarantine Order for every Purchase Receipt.
My PO Qty is 100 for example, but if you see in the Invent Trans, the
transaction is like this:

 20.00

 80.00

Note: We're not using the Split Functionality, there is no partial
delivery/partial Invoice. This case will affecting my cost :-(, the cost
between 80 and 20 Qty is different

Is there any Setup that I missed?
How to prevent this happening?
Why Axapta splitting the Qty? What is the reason?

RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Can Axapta handle automatic Bank Reconciliation?

2006-02-13 Thread Craig Fidler
As stated before we have written a automatic bank recon. You specify your
statement file layout import it and it will do the reconciliation for you.

As we have invested time we are selling this as an add-on.

Anyone interested please do not hesitate to contact me.

How can you say that it has nothing to do with bank reconciliation. If you
really understand the process you would see that it reduces the amount of
work taken for the reconciliation process. And by the way I did not make
this up, it is apart of the Financial II course for Microsoft Dynamics Ax.

Bonk, David [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Bridging accounts have
nothing to do with the reconciliation process;
they are used in cases where for example you receive a post dated cheque
from a customer. You want to record this fact in the AR sub ledger but
do not want it to affect the bank GL account. If the payment method
uses a bridging account then the debit will be to the bridging account.
You then need to go through a process using a GL journal to reverse the
bridging account entry and affecting the bank when you deposit the
cheque or it clears, depending on your process.

I have not come across any such thing in the formal documents for Axapta
but one thing I know is that you can set up Bridging Accounts in the COA
and use these accounts as part of the method of payment to reduce the
amount of work involve in bank reconciliation.

Is there anyone has the template??

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Production Query

2006-01-16 Thread Craig Fidler

Hi,

On a configurable BOM it is possible to change using config
rules the materials on a BOM, however I have not been able to keep the existing
material line and change the quantity. Is this at all possible? if not has
anyone come up with a solution.

I do not want to create a bill for every change in
configurations.

Kind Regards

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Sub Contracting

2006-01-10 Thread Craig Fidler

Hi,

I have setup a route with a work centre type of sub-contract.
When I run Master scheduling it creates the planned works order but no the
planned purchase order.

Surely when using the sub-contracting function type on a
route Axapta should create a purchase order for the subcontracting component?

Any ideas on this issue/help would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Craig

RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Customer missing, but is there?!

2005-12-06 Thread Craig Fidler

Perhaps a user had access to the AOT and
made the change there or some one went in using SQL and made the change?

Well after looking into this further and
reviewing the actual record in the CustTable, it turns out that the padding
that is in front of the given Customer Accounts was missing??? A normal user
should not be able to do such a thing, and would not know how?! Either way the
fix was copying over the CustAccount field value from the Sales Table, and then
synchronizing the table through Axapta!

I am glad it works, but the questions
remains how a normal user could make that change?!

thanks,

Brandon

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Customer missing, but is there?!

Hello All!

I hope everyone is doing well. Anyway, I have a very strange
issue. We have a customer account, that has a Lot
of sales orders tied to it now. For some reason, all of s sudden, when people
try to confirm, or packing slip update a sales order, or invoice for that
matter for the given customer account, it says that the customer does not
exists. This is strange because I am looking at it in the customer table.

Also I can click Inquiry Sales Orders and see everything they have,
yet try to update one of those sales orders and it tells me the account does
not exists?

Something else that is strange, since I know the customer account
number, then I can directly enter it into the find, which should take me right
to it without any wild card * around it. When I do such a thing though, it does
not find it. I have to put wild cards (*) around the account number before it
will pull it up???

I have tried updating the record, going through the right click on the
record, and then clicking record info. From there clicking the 'rename' option
and renaming it to the same thing... still same problem. I have also
synchronized the table, and re-indexed all indices for the given table? I
am stumped to say the least, as to how I can fix this? Can anyone give me any
input into how I can fix this?

thanks,

Brandon George
