[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Replacing label file in AX3.0

2009-03-31 Thread Karen
i never did manage to resolve the issue with the menu captions and button texts
in v3.0. you might want to try experimenting with the font setting on
individual menu/button control properties to see if that works as i believe the
font settings in the tools > options doesn't flow through to all UI elements
within the 3.0 application.

you're welcome James ;)

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Replacing label file in AX3.0

2009-03-28 Thread Karen
hi James
AX3.0 uses double-byte and you will not be able to make the labels show up
proper characters on the menu items and tab captions and menu item buttons etc,
though some of the labels will be ok on the forms and as for data, you need to
set the database collation and code page in control panel > regional settings
and install the ime pack for Chinese. when running the ime, in some cases, the
input editor doesn't appear where the mouse focus is so it can be quite
annoying to the user. you will also need to change the font in the options to
use Tahoma, if i remember correctly, for your reports. after doing all this, i
believe some elements of the UI will still show traces of gibberish. i would
recommend an upgrade to 4.0 SP1 at the very least in order for your CN
application to work as designed..

I believe there wasn't demodata released with AX 4.0 SP1 India.
You can use the following standard data set for SP1

and also reference the SP2 India dataset:

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Upgrade steps from Axapta 3.0 SP3 to Axapta 4.0 Sp2

2008-05-14 Thread Karen
hi Ankit/Amit,
you can obtain the data upgrade scripts for AX 3.0 SP5/6 India to AX
4.0 SP2 India here:
on customersource:-
https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/downloads/hotfixes/MSDAX3toAX

on partnersource:-

s/hotfixes/MSDAX3toAX4_India
unfortunately, these aren't specific to SP3..
you will need to write your own data upgrade scripts for the data
schema delta between SP3 and SP5 + your customizations.
here are some links in regard to data upgrade:

known issues when upgrading -

given that SP1 is required for the upgrade path to SP2, the following

after you have the data upgrade scripts in place, run the upgrade

Re: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: help me - batch process

2007-02-26 Thread Karen
Hi Vijay,

I did not tried it on version 3.0 but tried successfully on version 4 SP1.
Once you've created the service, you'll specify a Batch Group for windows
service to call. Schedule batch processing time you want for the Batch
Group. Then queued up batch jobs in the Batch Group that you're running from
windows service.

To double check that your windows service is running, go to Task Manager and
under the Processes tab, you should see Ax32.exe. If you have a client open,
you should be able to see two Ax32.exe running.

Hope that helps.

regards,
Karen

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Error 100: Cannot create another system semaphore

2006-12-06 Thread Karen

Hi Christoph,

Look in your Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer >
Application, for more details on the error message.

Most likely, you do not have the service running/permissions to access
yr db.

Ensure:

1) you have the SQL Server service up and running
2) the login account starting yr AOS service has necessary
permissions/roles to yr db (same as on source db)

Hope this helps =)
