[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Sending reports as attachment by batch process - Urgent
Dear All, I am using Ax 2009 Sp1 with windows 2008 r2 64 bit machine.I can send report as attachment,but when i try to send reports as attachment by using batch process i am getting following error message.I have configured SMTP information as well as batch related information. [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] New objects moving to vap layer automatically
We are using Ax 3.0 with oracle 9i database and project has gone live just few months back. We are having 3 environment (development, testing and production) and all the development has done in VAR layer. Recently we are facing the problem in development application where development work is saved into VAP layer even though we are working on VAR (its already set in the Axapta configuration utility). When we try to delete this VAP development then system is throwing error and not allow to delete the object. I have read in the axapta help file where the range has been mentioned for the VAR layer development (30001-3). I have created one table in this application and its created with the id no (31728) and subsequently the next no is assigned to the object Map. When i tried to create any Form, Report and view then system saved these objects into VAP layer. We have to release some new functionality therefore the same would require the development and currently our development application is down due to this issue.

Hi, Go to Administration - Setup - Domains 1) Create Domains for each company .(For this,Open Domain form, create Domain D1 in Domain tab and link the company C1 in company accounts tab . similarly you have to do for D2 - C2, D3 - C3) 2) Now you have to create User groups, like UG1, UG2,UG3. Assign the user like, UG1 - U1, UG2 - U2, UG3 - U3. [In feature, you can add the additional user to these groups] 3) Select the UG1 record and click permission button in user groups form. it will open other form, Provide access to D1,D2,D3 4) Select the UG2 record and click permission button in user groups form. it will open other form, Provide access to D2 5) Select the UG3 record and click permission button in user groups form. it will open other form, Provide access to D2,D3 Hope this will help you. [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] DAX - Project Module Item Requirement Workflow
Hi All, one of my client require Item requirement workflow in the Project module. As per the client business process, the client has many projects in different sites and in every project there will be a Requester and Project manager. these two users are mandatory for every project, and they will vary [Users inside the project]from one project to other project depend on the business flow. In AX if we customize new Template for Project Item Requirement Workflow, and we can assign the users based on (a) role based (b) Hierarchy Based (c)User based, But we do not have on Project based. But in this client case, from every project the Requestor will raise a request of item requirement from the particular project and the concern Project manager should approve that based on some [limit]amount consideration of the item requirement per line and total amount. if the define limit of the item requirement per line amount and total amount crosses then Project Director should approve. NOTE: Project Director will be same for all projects and manages from the Head office. so if we customize the new Template for Project item Requirement workflow, how can we assign and send notifications to concern project manager, if the requester of that project submits the item requirement. once requester submits it should trigger notification to concern project manager only, do we have this functionality in DAX standard. or do we need customize in Workflow configuration form assignment tab Please suggest me in this case. Hi Friend, It seems to be problem with some usergroups.I have faced these types of errors in past. Try to Identifying the which groups that caused the problem . But Beawre that. I can tell you that I have had the most success with .net business
connector when I do my own coding on the X++ side and call my own
class methods from .net. Then it is also easy for me to actually debug
my code - both in .net AND in X++. I suggest that you try the
following.
1) Create a new class in AX and add the method getLastMessage in the
xinfo.text example (pasted below).
2) Then create your class in .NET rather than the info class.
3) Call your getLastMessage method from your .NET code.
To debug you must check the checkboxes both to debug on server in
server configuration and to debug Business Connector in client
configuration. Make sure that in Tools Options on Development tab
that the Debug Mode is set to When Breakpoint (which will get set
automatically if you put a breakpoint in your getLastMessage method).
Open the debugger from Tools Developer Tools. Then begin debugging
in .NET and when you call the getLastMessage method, you will be able
to pace through the code in the AX debugger.
Then hopefully you can see the message you are looking for.

You can debug to be sure you know exactly which line of code issues
the error in AX. The Development IV course has a chapter about using
the .NET business connector and I would guess that the help has the
same content.
Here is a bit of information that might be helpful:
1) To debug both your .NET code as well as the AX code, modify server
configuration to allow debugging on the server. Also modify the client
configuration to allow debugging in the business connector. Set a
breakpoint in AX code somewhere or go to the user Options and make
sure that that the Debug Mode parameter is set to When Breakpoint
(Which gets set automatically as soon as you set a breakpoint
anywhere). Open the AX client and launch the debugger.
2) When you call CreateAxaptaRecord the string that you pass must be
the name of an EXISTING Ax table. I do not think you can use that
method, despite its name, to actually create a table in AX. The call
that passes in ReqPO should not cause an error - but the call that
passes in EAMItemRequirement s might be a problem if that table does
not already exist in your environment.
3) I prefer to write most of the code in X++ in AX classes to do
whatever work I need to do via .NET. I pass values as int and str to
the class and let AX manipulate the tables via the class. So I use
the AxaptaObject when I need to modify data in AX. I only use
AxaptaRecord to retrieve information from AX into .NET

Hi Domain, I have one issue regarding Business connector and EP . Problem : We are currently developing a new eCommerce solution for Pronorm AS using ASP.NET 2.0 on IIS. During development sometimes the Kernel-Class xClassFactory reports missing a method globalCache. The only workaround I found to avoid this message when it appears, is to restart IIS-server. We have so far not proved a pattern for how and when this error occurs. FYI: We are using a patched version of the Ax Client and Business Connector (because DDE did not work in the standard SP2). This client version is not stable, and have a tendency to crash. Its crashes almost every time you try to exit the Ax Client. Details : AX 4.0 SP2(4.0.2503.116) It would be appreciated if any body provide the solution. I had followed lots of ways and I had searched in all sites. Hi kartik,
To add a field in customer account lookup go to the
CustTable\Fieldgroups\Autolookup add the required fields that you want to show
in custaccount lookup.
in your case add the all exisisting fields along with your field i.e current
custaccount lookup is showing 5 fields add these 5 fields along with your field
and save the table. now the lookup will show the fields that you have added in
the lookup field group of custTable.

To enter the absence registration you have to do the following : Either this - Individual absence entries : - Assign an Absence Setup for the employee for whom you want to enter absence journal. [This is done in the Employee form under the Employment tab page] - Login as the employee who is in charge of the assigned Absence Setup. [logins are assigned to the employees in the Employee-General tab page] - create absence journals from Periodic - Mass Creation - Login as the employee to whom you want to enter the absence and then make the entries. It will work. Or this - Multi absence entries : - use the Multi-registration option to enter absence to the employees. Only employees with Absence Setup defined ( as explained above) are available. If you just need the list of tables and
the number of records in it, I think all u have to do is get the values of the
column TABLE_NAME from the table USER_TABLES. Based on this info all you have
to do is a COUNT(*) for those tables. You will end up with the returned value
of record counts for those tables. I currently dont have Oracle
installed, else I could have send the script.
