Hi, I have been having the same problem my grandfather married my grandmother and took her surname then went back to Azores had more children under his name, it is really messy but I'm glad to hear I'm the only one having that problem. The only Pereira that has come up in the family tree so far was the grandfather of Maria Joaquina de Jesus who appears as Mathias (?) Pereira de Almeida. The one explanation I can find so far is that Cristiano used his wife's grandather's middle name which seems a bit far out (?). Felix is definitely Cristiano's father according to several records. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Looking for new fregueias, villages, or islands
many thanks Cathy Cardosa for doing such good job to help people like who is looking for my ancestors your hard work is helping me so much. God Bless you Ria On 7/12/12, Cheri Mello gfsche...@gmail.com wrote: It's come up twice this week with 2 researchers who have found records that lead them out of the comfort of their island/freguesia to somewhere new. Azores GenWeb has the maps (I'm working on color coding some of them to show each freguesia - a project that wound up being back burnered). All you have to do is click on your island and a new window opens with the map of that island, listing all the freguesias, church(es) within that freguesia, years covered, and even links to the CCA or NEPS (for those with online databases). http://goo.gl/IGeV1 You can all thank Kathy Cardoza for the hard work she puts into the Azores GenWeb. -- Cheri Mello Listowner, Azores-Gen Researching: Vila Franca, Ponta Garca, Ribeira Quente, Ribeira das Tainhas, Achada -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to azores+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com.
