Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] PIO/ROSE ancestry
Robin, My info on the Rosa line is limited. Jacintho was born abt 1852 in Pico. His father was Manuel, mother unknown. 1871 moved to California. 1877 in Half Moon Bay, 1880 in Eden Township, Alameda, children with Florence PIO in 1884, 1885, 1886 & 1890 in Mission San Jose. Moved to Hollister abt. 1899. Purchased a ranch in the Southside District, 30 Oct. 1907. d. 13 Sep 1917. That is all I have. What info do you have? I would be very interesting in talking with your relative. [AZORES-Genealogy] PIO/ROSE ancestry
Thank you so much for all the info you provided. The Holy Spirit Cemetery seems very viable. I have info on Frank/Nora PIO as they lived & died in Hollister so I have their death info from the San Benito Co. Court House. They had 9 children & I have b. & d. dates on them & info on some of the spouses. I personally knew Aunt Nora but only one of her children, Josephine. Jo had 2 children that I personally know who are a few years younger than me, but I don't know how to contact them. The only info I have on Manuel is b. abt. 1869 in Azores. The death date of 1896 you provided would match. From: "bellema...@gmail.com" To: azores@googlegroups.com Sent: Wed, February 15, 2012 9:28:07 PM Subject: Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] PIO/ROSE ancestry Sharon, I also found this. Holy Spirit Cemetery, Fremont, Alameda County, California - FindaGrave says Holy Ghost Cemetery, Fremont CA PIO Jose Com edade de 56 annos fallecido mas nao esoucido. Burial bk says 30 Jul 1895. PIO Manoel Age 27y 3m. 26d d. Jan 11, 1896 If this is your Jose, he died in 1895 that would have him born in about 1839. According to 1880 census he was 35 so born abt. 1845 so it could be him and maybe this Manuel is his son in the 1880 census? Someone did research on the brother Frank and family. Frank was born Feb 1863 in 1900 census with his wife Nora. Came to US 1870 so I imagine that is close to when the family came to the US so might be a little difficult to find manifest but I will keep trying. I found Frank and Nora in 1900 census living in Fremont, Washington Co. CA. Also found Frank and wife Leonora Andrade in 1910, 1920 and 1930 census living in Hollister, San Benito Co., CA. He died there in 1931. He is also listed on CA Voters Registrations. -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to azores+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com.
