[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack-Ind-4g Bill of Material

2020-04-23 Thread jbossert nssengr . com
As a follow up to my last email, one of the components in the BeagleBone Black
Industrial Bill of Materials has a temperature range of -20C to 85C. -20C is a
higher temperature than what is specified for the BBBI-4G on element14's
website (-40C to 85C). The component in question is part number
TDA19988BHN/C1,551 Reference Designator U11. It is the HDMI transmitter.

My question is how will the BBBI operate below -20C? If we are not using
video, will the BBBI function normally below -20C? Will the video start
working normally again once the temperature goes above -20C?

Thanks!

I uploaded the Embest BOM:

Currently working on some updates with Seeed for their implementation.

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack-Ind-4g Bill of Material

2020-04-20 Thread jbossert nssengr . com
Hello,

Our company is interested in using the BeagleBoneBlack-Ind-4g from element14 or
the BeagleBoneBlack-ITEMP from Arrow in some of our products. But we need to
be able the build the board ourselves in order to ensure sustainability in case
our source stops manufacturing the BBBI that we are using, in the future. To
that end, I am trying to find the specific bill of material for the
BeagleBoneBlack-Ind-4g Bill of Material or the BeagleBoneBlack-ITEMP Bill of
Material with parts used for the extended temperature range included. All that
I can find is the BOM for the (BBB standard temperature range).

Can you provide me with the specific BOM and related hardware documents for the
BeagleBoneBlack-Ind-4g or the BeagleBoneBlack-ITEMP?

Thanks!

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack (BBB) revC freezes after ~50 hours

2019-11-18 Thread ilial
Hi!

I have a BeagleBoneBlack rev C. powered via cape pins (the cape is a custom
board which takes 12v power and converts it to 5v to power the beaglebone).
It consistently boots up ok (never experienced an ethernet PHY issues that
others report).
The board runs a simple python script that exposes a TCP server and allows
sampling GPIO pins.

Everything works fine for hours, until after ~50 hours (not consistent, it
takes between 40 and 50 hours to reproduce) the board freezes - stops
responding via network, LEDs stop blinking. After a repower the board gets
back to normal for another ~40 hours. During these tests the board sits in
a closed box.

When the cape is connected to another power supply and sits on my desk,
there is no problem whatsoever - it keeps running for at least a week
without issues.

Did anyone encounter a similar issue? Or has any leads on how to
investigate this?

Thanks!

[beagleboard] Beagleboneblack area network via uart

2019-10-23 Thread mm5466881
The problem is that I want to connect 4 nodemcu to beaglebone black via uart
protocol, I don't know if that will work or not. I want beaglebone to work as a
master computer who make the decisions depends on the data sent from sensors
that connect to nodemcus.

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack wireless — does the wifi module need to be power cycled to reset after suspend?

2018-10-04 Thread matthew . redding

I'm trying to configure the beaglebone black [wireless version -
4.9.82-ti-r102 #1 SMP PREEMPT] -- running debian 9.3 stretch.

So, I can successfully cause the device to sleep and wake with this command:

/usr/sbin/rtcwake -m mem -u -t $(date +%s -d "20 minutes")

However, the AP run from the BBB wireless does not restart.

I would like to use crontab to then restart the BBB access point, which I
think I have to do via connmanctl.

Unfortunately, I've not been able to get this to happen. What I am seeing
is that the wifi module on the BBB wifi appears to require a power cycle or
a physical reset before the wifi will re-establish properly after a suspend
and then wake. The following command will not give errors, but it won't
actually get the AP up and running again:

/usr/bin/connmanctl disable wifi;/usr/bin/connmanctl enable
wifi;/usr/bin/connmanctl tether wifi "BeagleBone-thing" "Password"

Is this a limitation of the wifi module on this board? Is there a way to
initiate a reset of the module without powering down the BBB?

Thanks!

Fix your /uEnv.txt

your passing:

root=
&
init=/opt/scripts/tools/eMMC/init-eMMC-flasher-v2.sh

so your not passing the root-partition information and it's setup to
flash the eMMC..

the vmlinuz-3.18 kernel. And that image used to run before.I don't know why
its not running now

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack unable to boot properly

2018-04-16 Thread pandeykamal13526
Hi,
I am trying to run an old ubuntu14.0 OS image on my beaglebone board,
which also include the ROS for my project.
Now the problem is it is not booting properly. This old ubuntu image I
flashed to the memory card using win32DiskImager.
This image has only the root filesystem in it although this file system is
ext4 but is *boot flagged (fdisk command told me this).

[beagleboard] BeagleboneBlack Wireless Ubuntu 16.04 PWM produces "RuntimeError: Problem with the cape manager"

2018-03-27 Thread Chrysomallis Iason
I have a beagleboneblack wireless with Ubuntu xenial 16.04. I am trying to
use the Adafruit_BBIO library and I am following these instructions :
https://learn.adafruit.com/setting-up-io-python-library-on-beaglebone-black/installation-on-ubuntu

Following the tutorials provided in adafruit's webpage, I set up some GPIO
ports successfully. However, when I try to set up a PWM port, the following
runtime error occurs:

have tried most of the solutions suggested in these forums, without any
luck so far.

[beagleboard] Beagleboneblack board is not booting from emmc and SD card.

2017-09-28 Thread TitusRathinaraj Stalin

Hello Experts,
So far my BBB board is worked and able to boot from both eMMC and SD card
but suddenly, my board is not booting any more, tried with SD boot too
(press and hold the S2 button while power ON) and it doesn't help.

I am getting nothing on console when I try to boot from eMMC (default, no
button press)
I am getting ">" or "<" character on console when I try to boot from SD
card (S2 button press)

Can you please help me to findout the issue and how can I debug this issue ?
Thanks for your help.

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack. LCDPCLK Harmonics Emissions Issue

2017-09-22 Thread Lee
I am currently trying to get a BeagleBoneBlack to comply with Class B
Radiated Emissions levels.
I am seeing noise spikes at various harmonics which I believe are
originating from the LCD PCLK running at approx. 38MHz.
These are spikes are at 307, 345, 384, 422, 460, 499, 537MHz, etc. and are
at or above the limit for Class B emissions.
Has anyone else managed to solve this problem and limit the harmonics
propagating through the system?
Thanks.

[beagleboard] beagleboneblack access point

2017-06-12 Thread rothermela via BeagleBoard

Hi,
I am working at a university project at the moment. The Project should
contain a BeagleBoneBlack, witch streams a video signal (analog PAL) from a
video grabber over a website on a local Webserver via Wlan to a tablet or
something else.

There are a lot of tutorials on the internet. I have testet a lot of them
until I have decided to ask for help.

My skills regarding the BeagleBoneBlack and the programming with linux are
moderate.

I use an BeagleBoneBlack and an USB-Wireless stick with the Ralink RT5370
Chipset.

This was the link of the tutorial on the internet:

https://fleshandmachines.wordpress.com/2012/10/04/wifi-acces-point-on-beaglebone-with-dhcp/
After the application of the tutorial i get these error:

Configuration file: /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
nl80211: Could not configure driver mode
nl80211: deinit ifname=wlan0 disabled_11brates=0
nl80211: driver initialization failed.
wlan0: interface state UNINITALIZed -> DISABLED
wlan0: AP-DISABLED
hostapd_free_hapd_data: Interface wlan0 wasn't started

Excuse me for my English skills and
Thanks and best wishes
Alex

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack+mikrobus_cape+GSM2

2016-07-14 Thread renzo . tomaselli
Hi, since a few weeks I got my BBB plus a Mikrobus cape (4 slots) plus a
MikroElektronika GSM2 modem.
I was able to run it using minicom only: getting phone calls ans sending
sms.
I tried to manage it from java comm packages (jSSC, purejavacomm, etc.).
No way and no errors: I simply get back the command I just sent out, even a
simple "AT".
No matter echo setting, it looks a kind of shortcut.
Thanks for any help, I'm running short of ideas.

Renzo

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack SD card boot

2016-06-11 Thread cmajor . merchant
I want to boot from the sd card on the beaglebone black without having to
press any button. In order to do this I think I can use the uboot env on
the internal flash. Is this correct? And if so, how do I configure the sd
card to be bootable?

Re: [beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack not booting with custom cape on

2016-05-27 Thread Gerald Coley
If it were the reserved pins that were at fault, you would not be getting a
printout from the serial port as the board would never boot anything.

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack not booting with custom cape on

2016-05-27 Thread comondrew
Hello,

I am using the BeagleBoneBlack (BBB) in the educational sector. For a
project I designed a cape. It all works very nice, if I plug in the cape
one the BBB is started. My OS is on the eMMC and I use the SD-Card rarely
for storing files.

If I boot the BBB with the cape, it won't work. I suspect it has something
to do with my using reserved pins for the HDMI, although I do disable them
in the uEnv.txt.
Booting with only the Cape connected to P9 works fine.

On P8 is use the Pins: 11,14,15,16,17,19,31,32,33,34,35,7,38,45.
In Derek Molloys Chart they are marked as reserved for hdmi.

For a dump of uboot see below.

Do you have an idea how what the problem is and how I can solve it?

Thank you very much in advance!

Kind regards,

Jan

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack is not booting from UART

2016-05-24 Thread Venky Venkatesh
Hi,
I am new beagle bone black, currently working on u-boot. I compiled the
u-boot by using cross compilation, and i got MLO, u-boot.img and several
other files as well.
And i was loading the MLO, u-boot,img files to the bbb through xmodem, but
once the transfer get completes, its waiting for 8-10 seconds, later its
started booting, but its not booting from the files which i have loaded, it
is booting from some other partitions. How can i boot the bbb from xmodem,
please share me your valuable suggestions.

Thanks
Venkatesh

Re: [beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack stuck at boot (+possible solution)

2016-01-26 Thread Christian Keck

> Since we started working with several BeagleBone Black boards we have

been facing some weird problems. Sometimes the board got stuck when it
started to boot.

There is no much information regarding this problem. This thread has
some information:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/beagleboard/aXv6An1xfqI[1-25]

Finally we found some answers, and what seems to be the solution to our
problem after some testing.

1. We avoided this problem when the serial port was connected.
2. The board runs U-Boot SPL, but it gets stuck waiting for commands, so
the board didn't boot fully.

We connected the serial RXD pin (pin 4) to P9 VDD_3V3 pin (P9_03) to
simulate a PULL_UP and the board didn't get stuck anymore.

Has anyone else faced the same problem ?

I experienced a similiar problem with another ARM-based embedded
compute, which was caused by strong noise on the serial console RXD
input. This noise was misinterpreted as characters by the serial console
UART, which caused the U-Boot to stop in order to wait for commands
instead of loading the linux image.

[beagleboard] BeagleboneBlack changing Mac Address

2015-11-23 Thread Micka
Hi,

I wanted to know if it's possible to change the mac address with the
beaglebone black.

I saw that in the U-boot source file, there is something about the SROM :

o If the SROM has a valid MAC address, and there is no address in the
environment, the SROM's address is used.

So my question is : how can I change the mac address in the SROM ?

And does it work ?

Re: [beagleboard] beagleboneblack vs beagleboard

2015-11-09 Thread William Hermans
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeagleBoard

I don't own a beagleboard, but I think the biggest differences is that the
beaglebone black has 2x PRU's, twice as much memory, 4GB on board eMMC, and
a 1Ghz CPU for ~ half the price.

The original Beagleboard though seems to have DSP's, and IVA2.2 accelerated
graphics( which I know nothing about ). I do also seem to recall that the
beagleboard processor *could* be overclocked to 1Ghz, but that probably was
not / is not supported. Meaning if you fry the processor, you're on your
own.

Anyway, all the specs seem to be on that wiki page so you can easily look
it up for yourself.

[beagleboard] beagleboneblack vs beagleboard

2015-11-09 Thread gary . pajer
I'd like to see a point-by-point comparison of the beagle bone black and
the beagleboard.(If there is one, I apologize for not finding it.) I'm
interested in performance and features.

I can flip back and forth between the description pages, but that's
awkward, and my short term memory is awful. And the pages offer somewhat
different information in somewhat different formats.

Thanks

Re: [beagleboard] beagleboneblack vs beagleboard

2015-11-09 Thread William Hermans
Oh, and a "big" difference. It seems the original Beagleboard had no
networking interface ? I missed that. The beaglebone black has MII based
faster ethernet.

My guess though, is that *if* you did not need the DSP(seems to be a
single, and not a dual ). The Beaglebone black *could* be used in it's
place. It really depends on what you plan on doing I suppose, and there is
a lot I'm sure I do not know about the Original Beaglebone. Such as it
seems it has some sort of camera interface ?

But what's more, there is also the Beaglebone green, that is very close to
the Beaglebone black, except it has no on board HDMI framer, and has two
grove connectors. Which seems to sell for ~$10USD less.

[beagleboard] BeagleboneBlack RevC, wifi configuration suing a GUI

2015-06-23 Thread ron . shakerian
I need to be able to connect my BBB to my PC via USB and open up a UI
similar to a typical laptop wifi configuration and configure the wifi for
BBB
or
I want to be able to connect a keyboard, a mouse and a display to the BBB
board, power it up and have pop up UI where I can configure the Wifi
through ad GUI.

Anybody has been able to accomplish this task? can you help me for a fee,
if needed?
for now we are using direct command lines.

Thanks,

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack Power On but not working

2015-06-19 Thread sherylannlee
Just awhile ago, when i first connected the board to my PC, the power LED
was on as well as the 4 other LEDs. I powered off the device and unplugged
it from my PC.

When i connected it back, the 4 LEDs aren't blinking anymore and only the
power LED is on.

Any help for this? Thanks!

[beagleboard] BeagleboneBlack (3359 processor)+CCS+JTAG+StarterWare+AnalogInputs

2015-05-04 Thread lucianocalaca3
Hey everyone,

At the moment I'm working with StarterWare on BBB with CCS with a JTAG. I
already did the BlinkLed example, and I can work with the GPIO and Timers.
Now I want to work with the ADC channels (AIN0 to AIN6).

To work with the analog input, I made some changes in the project like
changing the beaglebone header file as well copy files to the platform
folder, using the evmAM335x ADC example.

The thing is the example only does one read in channels AIN0 and AIN1. So
I would like to know how can I simultaneously read all the ADC channels,
changing the ADC configuration. I would be very grateful if someone helps
in the matter. I don't know if this information is enough to evaluate the
problem. If you need more just say it.Thanks for the attention.

Best regards,
Luciano.

[beagleboard] BeagleboneBlack Save eMMC script problem - mmcblk1 not in /dev

2015-04-27 Thread kevin
Hello all,

I'm trying to use the beagleboneblack-save-emmc.zip
https://s3.amazonaws.com/beagle/beagleboneblack-save-emmc.zip found here
http://elinux.org/BeagleBone_Black_Extracting_eMMC_contents to make a
custom img file from my eMMC contents (so I can flash it to another BBB or
make a backup or whatever).

When I extract the zip onto the uSD card (FAT32 formatted with boot flag)
and boot it on my BeagleBone Black, my BBB goes straight to holding LED0 to
full (meaning it reached the end of the script). Additionally, it creates
an image file, but the image file is only 20 bytes, and I don't think it's
an accurate extraction of my eMMC ;)

I've modified autorun.sh to add the lines:

mount /mnt/mount.log
ls /dev /mnt/lsdev.log

Looking at those files, I can see that mmcblk1 isn't in /dev, so logically
the line that dd's mmcblk1 to the image isn't working right (It's also not
supposed to be mmcblk0, because that appears to be my uSD card (see
mount.log)).

This is kinda where my knowledge of Linux runs out. I don't understand how
things show up in /dev, so I'm lost as to how to fix this .

I appreciate whatever help you can give. I'm at a dead end :)

[beagleboard] Beagleboneblack: Display performance issue, while interfacing with MIPI

2015-03-09 Thread s.no...@mobiveil.co.in

Hi all,

Currently we are facing Display performance issue. i.e, display is not
building up quickly.

For Your Information,

1. We use Beagle Bone Black board and debian, By default *CONFIG_NEON is
enabled* in kernel(3.8).

2. *[ Beagle Bone Black (LCD controller + SPI)] -- [MIPI (SSD2828)]
 LCD.*

3. We run *clock frequency as 68.43MHz*, Hope this should not be problem as
Beagle Bone Black support upto ~120MHz.

4. Number of pixels - *1280 x 800.*

4. We use *MIPI bridge(SSD2828)*, to interface with MIPI LCD.

Let us know if there is any steps that we need to take care to resolve this
issues.

If there is any way to figure out or test the display performance will be
helpful to narrow down the issue.

[beagleboard] beagleboneblack not turn on (the lights do not work)

2014-12-09 Thread viewdag
Hello everyone

My beagle bone black does not work. Had installed ubuntu 14.04 and as had
many problems working with a server and serial ports I decided to install
debian 7.5. My problem occurred when calculating the time of installation.
I wait three minutes and believed that the installation process is ready
and disconnect everything and took my TV, but the beagle did not work.

- Symptoms that has the beagle is as follows

--at Try to connect by USB power LED flashes only once and then off. and
led others do nothing
--at Connect with external power (5V, 2.5A) power LED remains lit steadily,
but not others led on. This also increases the temperature, the bottom of
the plate is too hot.

What could it be? is successfully burned? or be a problem of bad flash?

Greetings and thanks

2014-12-09 Thread Gerald Coley
Sounds like you may have damaged the board some how. The flashing LED says
the USB current is oo high and shuts down. On 5V power it has enough to
keep going, but if the board is getting hotter than normal, then that says
the could be some damage.

I suggest that you request and RMA and get it looked at.

After reading this mailing list i came to know about the issue about not
able to read mac info from EEPROM. I think i need to get RMA support for

actually bought board from authorized vendor.

Can anyone please tell me how do i get RMA support for this.

Thank you in advance for the help.

[beagleboard] Beagleboneblack

2014-06-03 Thread Eric Fort
It would be a bit easier for most of us here if you posted in english as
that is what most of those here use a a language for exchanging ideas and
asking questions but google translate does a decent job of giving the
gist of what you are asking. As Gerald replied, you need only provide 5V
to the board to power it either via the DC input jack or via usb. the i2s
interface *is* available on the expansion headers, but bear in mind that
you'll have some software work to get it configured as i2s and at the
correct rate. The Software reference manual shows which pins carry i2s
(when the proper pinmux is set / the right overlay loaded) you may also
wish to refer to the audio cape pin usage for more details.
http://elinux.org/images/1/11/Audio_Cape_B1_Schematic.pdf. Also note that
i2s is connected to the HDMI parts on the Black, so you probably will be
required to disable the HDMI framer to make use of it.

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack toy DJ table? Needs to mix and warp two music tracks.

2014-04-25 Thread paul . sisneros
I have a project idea that I'm still in the early stages of. My background
is in PLC programming and microcontrollers, mostly for automation, so I've
done some graphics and signal control, but not much with audio other than
playing a sound.

My son is a toddler, and he loves instruments and music toys, and he loves
this thing at the children's museum that lets him mix beats. So I was
thinking it would be a lot of fun to make him a DJ table, it would have two
turn tables that could detect when they were pushed or pulled, and a
selector for the type of tune each controlled (hip hop, funk, disco, club
techno ect). I can easily handle the input and control, but I have only a
vague idea where to start with the audio mixing. I understand the BBB needs
a USB audio device to play sound, and that's fine. The hard part is that it
would have to mix the two tracks and warp them. Perhaps there is some open
source Linux software that is already most of the way? I could pre-edit the
beat tracks to get them in the same time and in the right format, but it
would still have to be able to warp their speed in real time. It would also
be cool if there were buttons for samples to mix in. The main thing that
makes this different from a real DJ table is that the track selection
doesn't have to be editable on the fly, and it would automatically make the
samples and audio tracks settle on the same clock beat.

Any suggestions. I'm open to suggestions on other controllers that could do
this as well, but I think the BBB could, and I already have one. I could
use an entire PC to do it, but that doesn't seem as cool or efficient.

Thanks!

Not sure if I did my math right, but for 2 seconds at 2W (beaglebone will
be booting), and assuming his 24V to 5V regulator can regulate with an
input voltage all the way down to 12V, that's around 20mF. I guess that's
 doable with $$$.

It wouldn't be as simple as connecting the cap to the accessories line,
since this would absolutely destroy your relay contacts from the inrush in
charging this gigantic cap from 0V. And, you would have to throw a diode in
so you didn't power *all* of your accessories with this cap.

24V power supply in a car? If this means you're this from the
accessories circuit, you're doomed. Accessories are turned off while the
car is being started, and a cap won't be enough to power the beaglebone,
since they stay off as long as you're turning the engine. Another problem
is, you'll corrupt the filesystem with an out-of-the-box beaglebone. You'll
*have to* use a read only file system.

You could tie the beaglebone directly to the battery (with a fuse of
course) and use some circuit to monitor when to turn it on and off.

I think you should be fine as long as you don't use a value that is too

aren't like batteries, the charge almost instantaneously where as batteries
need time to fully charge so as long as you can get the cap charged fast
enough the board should power up without any problems.

The reason it powers off is because your ignition switch is not providing

Ok so why not add a cap to the circuit to keep it powered while you start
the car.

Re: [beagleboard] beagleboneblack don't restart after power fluctuation.

2013-11-05 Thread Wilfredo Nieves
Cap = capacitor. Just make sure that it is the right size for where you put
it in your circuit. If it is too small i can explode and possibly start a
fire. In your original post you stated that you have a 24V to 5V step down,
so if you place it before the step down make sure it is at least rated for
24V or if you place it after it has to be at least 5V. You may also
consider a voltage monitor circuit to safely power down your BBB to avoid
corrupting the file system.

the power source should have proper rise time. I'm afraid a capacitor will
increase the rise time. Any way I'll give a try.

Re: [beagleboard] beagleboneblack don't restart after power fluctuation.

2013-11-05 Thread Brandon I
I've connected beagleboneblack to my car power supply with 24V to 5V step
down.

24V power supply in a car? If this means you're this from the accessories
circuit, you're doomed. Accessories are turned off while the car is being
started, and a cap won't be enough to power the beaglebone, since they stay
off as long as you're turning the engine. Another problem is, you'll
corrupt the filesystem with an out-of-the-box beaglebone. You'll *have to*
use a read only file system.

You could tie the beaglebone directly to the battery (with a fuse of
course) and use some circuit to monitor when to turn it on and off.

2013-11-05 Thread Brandon I
A cap big enough should be able to handle that.

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack freezes when compiling

2013-10-16 Thread brandon . ess
All,

I have my BeagleBoneBlack with Ubunutu 12.04 armhf running kernel
3.8.13-bone28 and I'm using the board for a project to port a gnuradio
project to ARM. I'm able to get all the external dependencies for my code
installed/compiled but when compiling my code on the board it always
freezes when it gets to our SWIG stuff

I have a 4GB swap partition and it's being used, the kernel never throws an
OutOfMemory error, the board just locks up both via ssh and locally via
HDMI. It does respond to pings but that's it.

I was running 3.8.13-bone20, so I updated to -bone28. There are 3.12.0
kernel builds I could try.

Any ideas?

-Brandon

Any chance is this build script publicly available?

As far as stress testing on my end i just build the gcc-4.8 branch on
the boards..

Usually takes a good two days, of 100% load..

But, they usually survive without a hitch..

Re: [beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack freezes when compiling

2013-10-16 Thread brandon . ess
*Any chance is this build script publicly available?*

No, this is a work project. I've tried both our autobuild script and
building manually with verbose on and the same problem.

It gets to:

Building CXX object
swig/gr_/CMakeFiles/_gr_xxx_swig.dir/gr_xxx_swigPYTHON_wrap.cxx.o

and after a few minutes the board locks up.

I've tried a few tuneables, and well as set the CPU limit for gcc and swig
to 85% max. This seemed to take a little longer for the board to freeze but
it never gets past that one swig object.

It's frozen in the past when compiling gnuradio but a reboot and running
make again eventually works.

[beagleboard] BeagleBoneBlack demo image flash guide help

2013-10-10 Thread Lee YeongTze
I want to use RobertCNelson's ubuntu demo image in my BeagleBoneBlack.
I try to search and read, but I need some confirmation and some sort of
guide to get a right direction of what I am suppose to do.
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#Demo_Image

I git clone the omap-image-builder and linux-dev.git into my PC with ubuntu
12.04LTS VMware, running on Windows 7.
I guess I have to build the image in my pc before writing the bootloader
and rfs into uSD card for my BBB.
I plan to run my BBB with the Robert's ubuntu demo image. I got a 8G blank
uSD card.

so should I run the omap-image-builder with the following:

./base_image.sh
./bare_image.sh

then

./build_image.sh

then I should get the image file somewhere in my PC?

how do I go around for linux-dev.git? how do i combine the image with kernel...
?

confuse. Please help.

I try to go through the guide but I seems like not really understand it.

I git clone the omap-image-builder and linux-dev.git into my PC Ubuntu
12.04LTS. I am using BeagleBoneBlack.
I plan to flash the image into a blank uSD card and run the BBB with the
uSD.

How do I get the image? issit
run the

./base_image.sh
./bare_image.sh

and

./build_image.sh

will generate an image file in my PC so I can write into my uSD ?

then build the kernel using the linux-dev.git ?

Sorry for a total newbie question if there's already some guide out there.
