Re: [Bes-admins] Blackberry 9900 7.0 and doing ALT CNFG in enterprise activation.

2012-01-18 Thread Guido Strucksberg
Hi,
This would just start a resynch for the contacts.

To clear out the contacts you need to type rset in Contact-Options.
This will also reload them from the server.
Same as on all BB since OS 4.5

Best, Guido

Folder redirection is too ensure when you move emails out of your inbox the
blackberry reconciles that change and still allows you to see that email even
after it's been moved. That's been my experience with folder redirection.
You are completely right though on the redirection being a requirement for
exchange rules.

Can you change the sync interval on the iPhone from as mail arrives
to some interval to see if that will solve the problem? This will at
least tell you if the issue is the realtime push.
We have the same exchange environment and our two iPhones do not
experience this problem. They are only 3G models.

It is properly messed up but for 60 stae dbs..?!

some research I've found that the user profile document is missing from the
state database, the user profile document contains the UnreadMarksTable
as an attachment.

The only documented fix for this issue is to disable the user, remove their
account from the BES and delete the state DB. Once this has complete you
can recreate the user and re-activate the BB. On the surface this seems OK
however, once I reactivate I get double (duplicated) contacts (note pim
sync is configured to sync to mail file). There are two desktop
configurations under contacts..

Any thoughts on how to do this cleanly without sending a killpill to the

My last idea would be to create a new encryption key from the device.
Or remove oll servcie books and push them again.

Guido,

Doing the ALT cnfg on the EA screen didn't work either. It did force the

David Osborne mentioned something about connecting to Desktop Manager, is this
the Web Desktop Manager or the regular/old school one? In the Web Desktop
Manager I don't see anything to generate a new encryption key. I can install
the regular/old school one if that's what I need to use to generate a new key.
And that's find for the few users here in the office that have BB's, what about
all the 75 field users? A great portion of them aren't technically inclined
and to ask them to install the DM, generate a new key and reactivate is really
stretching it...

I really hope I don't have to wipe/activate these users, but at least that's a
little easier than having them install something on their system, etc.

- In EA window: ALT cnfg

But: Deletion do not go to bb:

The mails she deleted on the computer, are they also gone from the server ?

If this is alo set and reconcile now does not push the changes I woul

2009-09-11 Thread Guido Strucksberg
one more:

Is this user able to send and receive PINs?

I had cases were a user could:
- Sent PIN,
- sent mail, when selecting the email adresse from the BB or type it
in(no lookup)

- The BES logs showed the Lookup, but the result was not delivered to the BB

but.

Device did no receive PIN, MAIL, any data.

Only after a wipe. The device was getting data again.. and could be
reactivated..

Handle with care..

Re: [Bes-admins] Question Re Emails Not Showing up on blackberry

Maybe it is like the folder redirection, if you have more than one BES.
for the folder redirection settings(for Domno BES) you need to open the
user account after clicking on the server name.

it does not show up in the all users tab.

Just a guess..

Re: [Bes-admins] Question Re Emails Not Showing up on blackberry

Here’s why you’re not seeing the ‘Reload User’ function:

There’s two places in BlackBerry Manager that allows you to list Users.
You can highlight the ‘BlackBerry Domain’ in the left pane, or you can
highlight the actual BlackBerry Server in the left pane.

Both of these will have a ‘Users’ tab in the main window.

Depending on what you have highlighted in the left pane (Domain vs.
Server) you’ll get different functions when you right click a user.

I forget which one gives the Reload User command, as I don’t habe
BlackBerry Manager in front of me right now.

(Regardless of where it is, it’s not going to help Doreen anyway.)

First I am seeing that command as well. What is the difference between
Reload User and Resend Service Books?

(can help if the BES cannot find the person doc, even it is there)

But I guess this is not the same...

In Exchange, If I double click on the user I can edit a number of settings for
the user. One of them, under the advanced tab, allows me to change the mailbox
agent assigned to the user. I don't remember Domino so I'm not sure if it even
uses these agents so I was hoping someone could look and see.
