Good afternoon list,
Just curious... has anyone compared this reader solution to the eye-pal
system?
I am looking for something that is portable and can scan rapidly and
accurately.
There is a good possibility that I will be taking some masters level
courses which will require a lot of reading. Obviously I will locate as
many books in alternative formats as possible but need an alternative
solution.

Thanks

If Safely remove hardware does not appear in the Systems tray I discovered a
temporary fix.
Use Windows r to open the run dialog box and paste in the following
RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll

Then press enter and the Safely Remove Hardware window opens.

I just save the text in a document that can be opened and copied quickly if

Hi list,
I have a flash drive, that I want to start using instead of relying on
floppy disks, which tend to be more fragile. As I understand it, I just plug
the flash drive into one of the USB ports on my computer. And it should show
up as drive E in the my computer list. Is that correct?
From what I understand, when using a USB external hard drive, you are
meant to select the safely remove hardware option from somewhere on the
computer before unplugging the external drive from the computer? Is this
correct? And where do I find that option for when I start using my external
drive? Do you have to follow the same procedure for unplugging a USB flash
drive? And are Flash drives and USB hard drives regarded as the same thing?
As I have a 500 gig external hard drive. And an only 1 gig flash drive.

A good tip.
I have not tried this but I think if you save this line in a text file and
rename it hotplug.bat then you could simply press enter on that file on the
desktop and get the same result. Even better you could set up a shortcut key
to hotplug.bat, perhaps control alt and P and the result should appear
instantaneously.
The only thing to remember is that you need to ensure that there is a
carriage return at the end of the command line in the bat file.

Sherrie, if you can change the extension of that text file from .txt to
.bat you can run the safely remove hardware dialog merely by pressing
enter on the file, no need to copy and paste it into the RUN dialog. SO
for example if you have that string savd in a text file called
Unmount.txt change the name to Unmount.bat and press enter on it and
watch what happens.

2. create the new mail or reply to be in the email you want to send.
3. Press the alt key once .
4. Press control plus tab to move focus to the toolbar.

6. pres the down cursor arrow and you will be able to select a sending
address from all the available accounts in Outlook.
7. Press enter and this is the address that will be inserted in the from

If there is more than one toolbar in Outlook 2007 you may have to press

instance, when I visit the Innovations Radio page

the Listen links to play a recent show, WMP launches, but there is no sound.
This does not happen all the timebut only sporadically. Rebooting my PC

Good afternoon list,
Just curious... has anyone compared this reader solution to the eye-pal
system?
I am looking for something that is portable and can scan rapidly and
accurately.
There is a good possibility that I will be taking some masters level
courses which will require a lot of reading. Obviously I will locate as
many books in alternative formats as possible but need an alternative
solution.

Thanks

This may not be what you want but here is a suggestion anyway that works
in
Outlook 2003. I imagine that it is similar in 2007.

1. You need an account set up in Outlook obviously before you can send
from
it.
2. create the new mail or reply to be in the email you want to send.
3. Press the alt key once .
4. Press control plus tab to move focus to the toolbar.
5 cursor once rightwards and on my outlook 2003 you land on the Accounts
button . On 2007 it may be located slightly differently.
6. pres the down cursor arrow and you will be able to select a sending
address from all the available accounts in Outlook.
7. Press enter and this is the address that will be inserted in the from
field.

If there is more than one toolbar in Outlook 2007 you may have to press
control tab more than once to cycle to the one you need but I think this
first one is the one you normally need.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Hi David, thanks but I wasn't asking about selecting an account from the
accounts drop down menu (alt plus N in Outlook 2003 or alt plus A in

else's mailbox which I have opened as a delegate. When using Exchange 03

assuming the owner has assigned you the correct sharing permissions.

[Blind-Computing] VERY STRANGE LAPTOP ISSUE

2009-11-11 Thread John Justice
This has only started recently and I don't know why. I boot up the computer
normally and after about 30 minutes or so, the thing shuts itself down and
restarts without any prompting from me. All of the programs seem to be working
okay but if I'm in the middle of a document or an e-mail, it's gone.

Here's my system.

I'm running an HP Model 550 notebook computer with XP Service PackIII, Jaws
10and Outlook Express.
I am connected to a generic USB hub which has 3 components attached to it:
1. Soundblaster 5.5 USB sound card, HP Scanjet 4770, Brother HL1440 printer.
I also had a standard keyboard attached to the hub with an adapter which
converts it from the smaller old style connector to a USB.
That's it.

This whole thing started when I moved my computer from a table to my computer
station. I have never used this laptop with that USB hub before. Before I do
something stupid, can someone think this through and give me some pointers?
Could that USB hub be creating a problem? It's not a powered one but one of
those generic hubs you can get from Radio Shack.
I'm serious about this, friends. If my computer is going on the fritz, I need
to deal with it soon because in another 5 months, it's going out of warranty.
Any help would be most welcome.

I have been using that standard style keyboard ever since I got this laptop and
it has never given me a problem. I have also connected the scanner and the
printer directly to this laptop at various times and had no trouble at all.
But I have never used this hub before. Could it be sending some kind of reset

a

temporary fix.
Use Windows r to open the run dialog box and paste in the following
RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll

Then press enter and the Safely Remove Hardware window opens.

I just save the text in a document that can be opened and copied quickly

Hi list,
I have a flash drive, that I want to start using instead of relying on
floppy disks, which tend to be more fragile. As I understand it, I just
plug
the flash drive into one of the USB ports on my computer. And it should
show

up as drive E in the my computer list. Is that correct?
From what I understand, when using a USB external hard drive, you are
meant to select the safely remove hardware option from somewhere on the
computer before unplugging the external drive from the computer? Is this
correct? And where do I find that option for when I start using my
external

drive? Do you have to follow the same procedure for unplugging a USB flash
drive? And are Flash drives and USB hard drives regarded as the same
thing?

As I have a 500 gig external hard drive. And an only 1 gig flash drive.
Thanks Jason
