Re: [Blind-Computing] Character code for check mark in MS Word 2007
Hi Brad; I am running XP with no ribbons. When you say, bullets option in the home tab of the ribbon , exactly where are you referring to? Or, is this something that will be only in MS Word 2007 not found in Word2002? Thanks much, take care. If you do an alt + H then tab down to bullets then press space it will take you into a list of bullets. There you can arrow up and down through the options. The checkmark is there. Once you find it just press enter and it should place one on the page. - Original Message - From: Mike Barbara mb69ma...@charter.net To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, September 27, 2011 9:00 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Character code for check mark in MS Word 2007 Hi Jerry; The square root symbol is what's supposed to be used for the checkmark symbol. In Googling how to type the square root I've found mixed answers. 1 post says that there is not a way to type the square root symbol but, on the other hand I've found that typing the, ascii code, Alt + 251, is supposed to make a square root / checkmark symbol. Re: [Blind-Computing] Creating a stereo file from a mono fileusinggold wave
Don't know goldWave at all, but, for example, in audacity, I'm pretty sure you could just load a .wav file into two parallel tracks that are each running either lefft/right, and that would therefore render/output as stereo..? As in, think if you imported the same sound clip to two different tracks, and then set the panning of each track to either left or right, wouldn't that at the very least render into an audio track with both channels as such? Not sure if it would really offer much in terms of sound quality, but anyway. What do you mean not possible? Sure it's possible. First you open the mono file and copy its contents to the clipboard. Then you create a new file with two channels. This probably isn't quite what you're looking for, but a Check list can be created in older versions of Word by selecting the FORMAT drop down menu and select the item that refers to Bullets and Numbering - exactly wording escapes me just now. At any rate, Check Mark is one of the list demarcation options. Holland's Person, Bill - Words that soak into your ears are whispered, not yelled. - source unknown, but wish I had originated it. Yes. It is excellent! I use it all of the time with VMware. If a guest OS loses speech or I am setting up a new Virtual Machine with an OS that does not have an accesible installer it is indispensible! I have also used it for Video overlay type applications, which were previously totally inaccessible, like DIRECTV2PC. However, Ihave not had much luck with most Flash objects. *Don Marang* Vinux Software Development Coordinator - vinuxproject.org http://www.vinuxproject.org/ On 9/28/2011 11:33 AM, mark wrote: Hi I was wondering if my version of JAWS 13 OCR is working. [Blind-Computing] Firefox 3.6's Unsolicited Auto Update
when I opened my portable firefox 3.6 last night, it came up updating automatically to the latest 3.6.23 build. While I had intended to put in the update myself, I was surprised by the auto-update as i have automatic updates turned off. I do not let anything update itself without my consent I checked firefox's options and the checkboxes for the auto updates were indeed turned off. Has anyone else experienced this with firefox 3.6? Thanks much. Doris For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
