Dear all, greetings i am using toshiba lap, win 7, jaws 13 when i am working on the lap some time jaws doesnt speak, i want to no how to refresh the jaws The real problem of blindness is not the loss of eyesight. Hi Margaret, Below are some notes I've saved on how to fix both your issues. The print view notes are first, & the last is for resetting your zoom settings. in the print layout view. If you are using Word 2007 or Word 2010, press function key 6 when in a document until you find the status bar. Press right arrow until you find the choice for print layout and if it is not checked then press enter key to check it. Press function key 6 until you are back in the main document pane. Take care. , Brian Lee From: Negoslav Sabev Press alt+w and use tab, not the arrow keys. Otherwise ctrl+alt+n changes view to normal or draft in 2007 ctrl+alt+o changes view to outline ctrl+alt+p changes view to print layout Negoslav From: Dang Manh Cuong Please check and make sure these settings has been set correctly 1. Open the office product wich you have this problem, such as ms word, excel etc 2. Press alt to activate the ribond menu, navigate to view tab. 3. Arrow down to zume sub menu, open it by righ arrow. You should hear Jaws read: "zume... button" 4. Hit enter on it, a dialog appear. 5. Set zume to 100% and press enter to save changes. That's my settings on ms word 2010, and it work well. [Blind-Computing] external sd cards
Hi, So, recording a sample tutorial and to have my jaws or screen reader come out Using another sd card beside the one I have in the laptop what would someone recommend? If there is a recommendation, where can I find it and roughly how much would it cost? I'm thinking of just using sound recorder but I wear a headset, which I do not know if that is a factor. Re: [Blind-Computing] shutting down the computer
Do you want the instructions on how to shutdown your system after a given interval? If so here is the short version so to speak. Say for example you wish to shutdown your system after an hour has past then the command line argument is as follows: shutdown -s -f -t 3600 The time is specified in seconds which is why the number is so large. If you wish the system to reboot instead of shutdown then instead of the -s switch you use -r in it's place. If you want directions to creating batch files I can supply them as well. If he really wants to use the computer, a simpler program to use is MP3 Direct Cut. It is also free and will record directly in MP3. It is much easier to operate than Audacity. If he just wants to play, record and listen, and does not need sound effects or sound processing, it is a simpler solution.
