Re: [Blind-Computing] Laptop recommendation needed
Hi After my last new HP laptop died in early January 2013, a friend connected me with an acer 5733 Z, I love it. I really don't know all the technical details. However, it does have the number pad built in to the right side of the keyboard. I hope this helps. I shall be grateful if people can recommend a high performance, professional looking machine running Windows 7 with a good battery life? A kind soul recommended HP DV6 but that model is three years old. Having said that I really like the specs and the full keyboard and if anyone know of a comparable model running an I7 processor would be ideal. Re: [Blind-Computing] jaws not working in edit fields
myself, I would do a repair of jaws 8 and see if that fixes it since it worked before. in 8 it should bee in the tools sub-menu of the jaws sub-menu in the start menu/programs you will need a copy of the original install file that you used, or you can uninstall your j-8 and reinstall using the last issued j-8 file off of freedom Scientifics' site in jaws downloads older copies. Re: [Blind-Computing] Software for radio scanners
you can try NVDA, or trial use versions of dolphin's Hal, system access, or window eyes will tell you if they will work I know a few folks who prefer one screen reader for a single task, but use another most of the time so they maintain the usual use one and trial version use the other for the one program, or use NVDA HTH, inthane -Original Message- From: Blind-Computing [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Bob J. Re: [Blind-Computing] video intercept
It's fairly easy. Bring up jaws by pressing insert+j. Bring up the utilities menu by pressing alt+u. Up arrow to video intercept manager and press enter. You'll find three radio buttons: install video intercept; uninstall video intercept; (I've never tried either one of these buttons); and display video intercept information. Tab past the help button and you'll find a read-only field giving your video intercept information. Hope this helps.
