where can i get this switch program? - Original Message - From: "Brad Dunse" To: Sent: Friday, May 31, 2013 3:46 AM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] jaws and sound cards Sometimes I want music and other on the speakers and sometimes in my headset with Jaws, so I had just made a shortcut and hot key to the Sound applet for changing on the fly. It lands on the list of cards, I'll arrow down to my speakers, hit apps key and arrow to set as default. In Jaws you can set it to use it's own too of course. It is not really a sound card as we know it but sends the music to the stereo. So it is considered a sound card. The reason for the sound switch program is so that I don't have to go to control panel, sounds, and switch to the audio engine when I want to go down stairs and listen to the stereo. And when I am up at the computer I want sound to come out of the audio connexant in case I go to an internet site that has a youtube site and need to listen to it. I hope this sorts out any confusion. -Original Message- From: Blind-Computing [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Ferrin Sent: Thursday, May 30, 2013 16:26 To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] jaws and sound cards I'm a bit confused, you have 2 cards and they both have a predefined purpose in life if I understand correctly. One for my music and one main sound card that is in the computer for jaws. The music card is a USB audio Engine and the main card is a audio connnexant. In the jaws sound cards sub menu of jaws, I have audio connexant checked for the jaws sound card. Now I have this little program called sound switch. It allows me to press the f11 key to switch between sound cards. Thing is when I switch to the audio engine jaws quits coming out of the computer and goes to the audio engine. It says in the jaws help that jaws should stay with the sound card that is checked. How can I get this to work right. Re: [Blind-Computing] Network, emailing issue
Hi, Rodger, just curious which e-mail provider are you using for all these e-mail addresses? Sorry if you have answered this question before. Frank Ventura wrote: "OK, I was going on the assumption that this only happens with email from your desktop. Since it happens with all computers on your network I find it even more difficult to blame on Outlook as it is highly unprobable that all four copies of Outlook are configured incorrectly. Since it is a problem common to all computers on the network it is normal to look for some commonality between them that could cause such an issue. The two most likely culprits are the email servers/account itself and antivirus software if the same antivirus software is being used on each machine. Certainly your router and DSL modem are common to all but there is nothing in either one that is capable of blocking specific emails. Like I said in my other message, the test of using another email server is a good one and disabling the antivirus is another good test. Before getting involved in packet tracing and connectivity issues which there really is no reason to suspect first narrow it down to a specific email address or computer. For example you can try moving the email address you use on your desktop to one of the laptops and try sending an email to see if the problem follows the email address to the laptop or stays on the desktop (meaning swap email addresses between desktop and laptop). What is necessary is to leave a copy of the email on the server after it has been downloaded by the first computer. It doesn't matter if both computers are online at the same time or if one is connected after the other. This is really a very simple modification to your email setup, but the exact steps depend upon the type of email being used (POP3, IMAP4, or Exchange). Please see my previous message for more details. However, in terms of network architecture and administration this is a major no-no. For security reasons no one person should be allowed to be logged onto more than one computer at a time. If a person needs to share information with themselves on multiple computers this should be done by saving the information on a network share. Hi Frank, Why would you fall for a scam sent by yourself? Lol. On Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 07:46 PM , you wrote: "One other thing I failed to mention is that if there is any scanning of messages for spam (either by an antivirus or antispam program or by an email client itself then emails that originate from yourself may get be flagged as spam and either deleted or sent to a spam folder. The reason for this is that a long time ago spammers used to try to sneak spam through to people's computers by spoofing the sending address to make it look like the email was coming from yourself. For example I would see an email from frank ventura in my inbox trying to sell me something but I didn't send it. That was a spoofed email. This is the reason some spam filters will flag mail whose sender appears to be your own email address as spam. [Blind-Computing] Making the web accessible.
Hi all, This is a bit off topic, but we all use the web and there have been podcasts made about things we need to download from the web. At one time or another, we have probably been to a web page which was quite inaccessible with screen readers. The link below would be a nice one for people to have if they have any question at all as to why an accessible web is important. This link also links to other important documents that talk about how to make the web accessible. Forward this to as many people or companies as you know who might be willing to read it and forward it to other people. If we spread the word, perhaps the web will become easier to navigate. http://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/accessibility.php Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/blind-computing@jaws-users.com/ To post to this group, send email to blind-computing@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/BlindComputing.php If you wish to join the JAWS Users List send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [Blind-Computing] superantispyware
In the main window of the program, there is a button labeled preferences. Tab to it and hit space or enter on it. Then, using your Jaws cursor, move to the top of the window. After that, hit down arrow. You should here a list of tabs, the last of which is help, so hit the end key, followed by ctrl left arrow, then left click on it. Then, arrow down until you get to the "click here to activate" option, still using your Jaws cursor. Left click on that, then revert back to using your pc cursor for the activation wizard that appears, and follow the steps to activate your product. -- From: "Marilyn Walker" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, February 10, 2008 8:55 PM To: Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] superantispyware > CJames, could you get a bit more specific? Open keyboard manager, hit control shift d to get in to default file, tab to list of functions, hit m until you get to mute synthesizer, press the add button, then type the key you want, I use insert m personally, hit enter, then accept the changes then exit out of keyboard manager. when you press the hotkey jaws will not tell you that speech is muted, but it will tell you that speech is on when you hit the key again. -- From: "Steve Crews" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, January 17, 2008 11:31 PM To: Subject: [Blind-Computing] Hotkey to silence JAWS > Hello, Is there a hotkey or fast easy way to turn JAWS speech on and off? > > Thanks, > > > > Steve Crews > > 202 North Country Lane > > Desloge, Mo. 63601 > > 573-431-3325 > > > > > > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: > http://www.jaws-users.com > Address for the list archives: > http://www.mail-archive.com/blind-computing@jaws-users.com/ > To post to this group, send email to > blind-computing@jaws-users.com > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject > or body of a blank message to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Use the following form in order to contact the management team > http://www.jaws-users.com/BlindComputing.php > If you wish to join the JAWS Users List send a blank email to the > following address: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/blind-computing@jaws-users.com/ To post to this group, send email to blind-computing@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/BlindComputing.php If you wish to join the JAWS Users List send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [Blind-Computing] Hosts Files Questions.
Ah, I am using IE7 with XP pro, that's probably why its different. I prefer it this way anyway, as it plays a sound every time a site is blocked, so as soon as i here that noise, i can simply hit escape and i don't even have to deal with the dialog. When I navigate to a blocked site, I get the dialog box that says: connect to anysite.com dialog. username edit combo and password edit combo Then all I have to do is hit escape on this dialog box and the site I am on loads up, unless it is a completely blocked site like adds.doubleclick.net.
