RE: [BlindHandyMan] water question
No I wouldn't drain the water. I would put a whole house filter on my house. I would also put one on the kitchen and the bathroom sinks. This is just me. I would see wat this did after putting it on. Giving it about two weeks to get things filter out. By flushing the water heater you are just fixing things temporally at the best. well, there might be a short run of it. Karen says it's the strongest in the kitchen, which is oddly the closest to the main line, and secondary is the smallest bathroom, which is second closest. Re: [BlindHandyMan] water question
If you run a glass of hot water it will look cloudy because of very tiny bubbles resulting from dissolved air in the water. As the glass stands undisturbed the cloudiness will begin to clear from the bottom as the bubbles rise to the top and burst. After a couple of minutes the water will be as clear as the cold water. If this does happen there is nothing you can do about it. It's determined by the laws of physics. On the other hand, if it doesn't clear as described then you have a problem. Air dissolves more easily in hot water and also in water under pressure. Combine the two and you can get a lot of dissolved air. After the pressure is relieved and the water cools a little the dissolved air comes out of solution in the form of tiny bubbles. Here's a Carnac for you. Answer Don Hoe. Contents of envelope. RE: [BlindHandyMan] water question
I haven't followed this thread completely, but it has been going on for quite a few messages. Maybe I missed this but If you have a problem with your electrical service, you call the electric company. If you have a problem with your phone service, you call the phone company. Unless you're on a cistern or a water well, why don't you just call the water company? Anyway, just curious about why someone would spend so much time trying to fix a problem that you are already paying someone else to maintain. Did I miss something on this thread about this? Thanks, but just curious. just thought of something. has anyone told you of a change in color of the water? Maybe tomorrow you can call your water department and just ask if they have made any changes. our problem here is not just the hardwater but they at times overload us on chlorine . I have filed com;plaints but they want to keep Wendys resturant happy. so I say let Wendys install their own chlorine devices. so wish at times we were on well water long away from many folks. . RE: [BlindHandyMan] water question
I don't know. Maybe the city done something? What does the water taste like? Try to give me a example? A water filter might still be your best bet. RE: [BlindHandyMan] water question
None of this is easy done. Can it be done yes. That old of water heater especially if it is electric would do more harm than good. It will more than likely break causing you to have to buy another one. My recommendation is a whole house water filter. This will fix your present problem but want fix the pipes or water heater. Also a second water filter on your bathroom lavatories and your kitchen sink and one on your refrigerator, if you have a ice maker or ice and water thru the door. This is just me what I would do.
