Hi,
They come in different thickness, for comfortable weight.
I'd say no more than 3/4 by 18 inches long as far as sticks.
Honestly most guys hang a gig bag with two hooks off of the side of the
snare. It's a leather portfolio of sorts with inner and outher pockets for
the drum key, brushes and sticks, and anything else like hand chalk or
parts like tuning pegs, dampers, few wing nuts etc.

2010-03-15 Thread Spiro
wow! I just called and it's Pennsauken NJ. that's a great loss.
Bands that needed gear before big shows here, could always stop there and
get hooked up. I've been there when a big shot would show up and
everything would stop adn then we'd all get treated really nicely when the
big shot was satisfied.
I'm gonna miss them.
But yeah, $20 should do it.

Re: [BlindHandyMan] drum stick holder

2010-03-15 Thread Blaine Deutscher
the sticks that are out there for drumming that have brushes on them can
still be retrackted into itself so the brissles don't get wrecked. They also
have sticks called "Hot Rod" which are small wooden sticks glued together
and are used for quieter songs. I play drums myself so if you have any
questions feel free to click "reply to sender" or send an e-mail to
b.m.deutsc...@sasktel.net.
Talk to you later.

Hi,

Can't give the exact length just now but about 14 to 15 inches is my
guess. I have an off-the-shelf stick holder which hangs on the flor
tom. The depth of the pouch which holds the sticks and brushes is
about 10 inches deep. That leavs several inchs of stick or brush
sticking out to quickly grab.

Hi,
They come in different thickness, for comfortable weight.

Re: [BlindHandyMan] drum stick holder

2010-03-15 Thread Kevin Doucet

Re: [BlindHandyMan] drum stick holder

2010-03-14 Thread Lenny McHugh
I think I figured out what I will build. Similar to your thoughts.
His drum sticks are 16 inches long, I don't know how long the brushes will
be when he gets to that point nor do I know the length of the mallets that
he is using in school. I want to make something that will sit on the floor
that he can just pull up the tool that heeventually will need. I am going to
get some 1 1/4 inch drain line and cut12 8 inch lengths then build a nice
finished box to put the tubes inside. So the tubes will be like some nice
soldiers lined up. When he acquires the brushes and mallets, if the tubes
are too deep I will make a plug to drop inside.

It has to be about fifty years ago since I played drums but at that time
they did differ in thickness and weight, don't remember about length except
that brushes were considerably shorter when the brush is retracted.

Maybe you want a sort of super long pencil box style to lay them in.
