[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCIE Voice Written Exam

2008-09-24 Thread Shai Loufton
Hello All

I was unsure if I could ask this - so if anyone can help please reply

I am looking for an organized book list to study and ready myself for the
CCIE Voice Written (not a Question and Answer engine) - so I could buy the
books and study them and once I know all that material I could start
learning for the IPERXPERT workbooks and CoD (VoD) with the required
knowledge to pass eventually the Lab Exam

To make this short if anyone here who passed the written exam lately
(without cheating and learning the answers) can share which books they used
to pass I would be most grateful

P.S.

If anyone here is from Israel who has the books and finished with them I
would also be happy to buy them from him

Thanks All

Shai L (Israel.)

J

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCME - Web user subset admin

2008-09-24 Thread Sergio Polizer
Hi all,

Supose that we have to create a web custom administrator for CCME that has a
subset of the system admin.

How could we get the xml.template from the CCME flash to edit it?

I've tried with copy flash: tftp: to CCM server to edit there, but w/ no
success.

Regards, Sergio.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Callmanager to unity integration problem

2008-09-24 Thread jeremy co
HI Mike,

I got what u said, I can see 8 ports that I defined in voice port section
when I click Find.

But still have problem, it's wired ,I can ping from both side but
integration did not work ,I used default names on both sides.

Every thing is clear and simple but still it doesn't work!

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] IPPA URL

2008-09-24 Thread James Key
Someone shared this technique for finding service URLs a little while
back. Works well.

1. In Callmanager web page, open the "Help" (Help > Contents and Index)

2. Switch to "Search" tab

3. Search for the work "devicename"

You will get 5 links to documents.

* Second link has URL for EM

* Fourth link has URL for IPMA

It's been awhile since i sat for the lab and I can't remember if they
had removed the ability to use the UniverCD so I was wondering, if you
can't use it now where do find the URL's for the various IPT services
like IPPA, Extension Mobility, Fast Dials, and Personal Directory. If I
am mistaken that we can't use the UniverCD please let me know.

Hi,

when using Alternate GK you do not need a 2nd CCM Trunk. CCM registers with
both GK. Or in other words CCM gets told that there is an 2nd GK with which he
should register if the 1st GK fails. (This is Cisco proprietary and does not
work with every H323 System)

Hi,

This link doesn't even give access to SRND. Not sure, let's wait for someone

I got that URL info from cisco.com/go/certsupport. I raised a case

Hi Kelly,

AFAIK, the MWI will never light up for GDM. The onlys thing you will see is the
envelope, on the line.
And i think the GDM Voicemail-No. should be different than the Hunt-Pilot
Number (you can use Translation-Rules for this).

true, but the problem is in getting the gateway itself to re-register to

2008-09-24 Thread Jeff BCI
It must be a bug in the code because I've tried that very section, and it
barks at me that a gatekeeper zone is already configured and bounces me out
of the config. I was able to make it work by registering the gateway to the
two gatekeepers using different zones, but the problem is in the prefixes.

ok, obviously we can't say if this scenario would or would not be on the
test, I thought that I should at least be prepared to handle it since I
have two gatekeepers in my lab and can try it out.

Thanks, Jeff

Then I think you can use alternate gatekeeper as described here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_3/vvf_c/cisco_ios_h323_configurat
ion_guide/old_archives_h323/4gwconf.html#wp1036777

In CCM, I guess you would have 2 trunks to each GK and put both in a RL
to do the failover from the ccm side.

Though I'm not sure how this could come up on a lab given the topology.
The logical choice for the GK is HQ, BR1 and BR2seem like bad choices
for a redundant GK ... If HQ goes down you would lose connectivity to
BR1 and BR2

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] GDM/Hunt Group/MWI Questions

2008-09-24 Thread Kelly Nguyen
All,

1) Looking for a little clarification on the GDM, MWI and Hunt Group
Configuration. Is there a way to have a Hunt Group which uses a GDM reflect
MWI on the phones? I tried putting a different E164 number for the GDM and
assigning it to a phone but I don't get a envelope or MWI.

2) I have seen a couple of posts previously on this MWI, GDM issue but I am
still trying to clarify things. If I have a GDM what are the ways that I can
get it to light up my MWI? Per everything I have read if I put the GDM
number as a extension on the phone it lights up. However, I can't get this
to work but it may be that my GDM number is for a hunt group. When people
are using GDM's to light up are they not using it with hunt groups? Are they
only accessing the GDM via scripts or other hunt capabilities but not using
hunt-groups?

Thanks.

Hi,

when using Alternate GK you do not need a 2nd CCM Trunk. CCM registers with
both GK. Or in other words CCM gets told that there is an 2nd GK with which he
should register if the 1st GK fails. (This is Cisco proprietary and does not
work with every H323 System)

If you ran Voice Mail Port Wizard, but ports did not show up in the "Voice Mail

Greetings.

Ok, all of my gatekeeper work is good, no problems there, but I'm trying
to
learn how to use two gatekeepers for redundancy (not load balancing)
such
that if GK_A croaks, the gateways registered to GK_A can then
automatically
move to GK_B without any manual intervention. I do have GK basic
redundancy
configured on GK_A and GK_B, I can see that this works fine, but the
gateways won't move over.

Here's what I did.

GK_A - the primary GK
configured in CUCM with trunk ccm-trunk, GK configured as well, works
fine
configured clustering to GK_B, that too works fine

so they see each other, registered and whatnot, but I can't figure it
out
nor find out why. I bought a Cisco Press book "Cisco Voice Gateways and

understanding of gatekeepers, but it is completely missing anything on
actually showing this redundancy function in use.

HI All

Does anyone have a demo license for Unity with VPIM that I could use
to get it working in the lab.

Cheers

Paul

on page 374 of the IPEXPERT book there is some cme ephone config for CUE GDM

I am trying to work out if this is needed if the AA script is not in use

What is the extra DN used for that is mapped to the key 4:20

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Lost in Gatekeeper redundancy world

2008-09-24 Thread Jeff BCI
thought about that as well, but GKs will be in different subnets, hence
HSRP won't work.

Wish it were that easy, rumor has it if I get a GK lab, this scenario is
there.

Thanks, Jeff

I believe the way to do this is with HSRP? If a GK fails its IP moves to
the backup GK

-- GK_01 config - 10.255.255.10
gatekeeper
 zone local GL_ZONE bciassoc.net 10.255.255.10
 zone local HQ_ZONE bciassoc.net
 zone local Branch-B_ZONE bciassoc.net
 zone cluster local GKC_GL_ZONE GL_ZONE

 gw-type-prefix 1#* default-technology

did the exact same thing on GK_B

- GK_02 config --- 10.255.255.2

!
gatekeeper
 zone local HQ_ZONE bciassoc.net 10.255.255.2
 zone local Branch-B_ZONE bciassoc.net

so they see each other, registered and whatnot, but I can't figure it
out
nor find out why. I bought a Cisco Press book "Cisco Voice Gateways and
Gatekeepers" and found a wealth of tips and things that cleared up my
understanding of gatekeepers, but it is completely missing anything on
actually showing this redundancy function in use.

Thanks, Jeff

In real life, set the servers to a DNS server so it can be resolved to
another server automatically (EM for CUCM v6.1...)

Onderwerp: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Services where to host? Pub or Sub?

Hello,

A question regarding services of any kind like Personal Address Book,
Extension Mobility etc.
I can configure any server in a cluster to host services. In real world
I prefer to put one of the subscribers to host such services. If the
server goes down I can quickly reconfigure the service to another sub or
even pub by changing the URL. If the service is to be put on Pub and the
server goes down there is nothing we can do about it - no URL reconfig
possible.
Is this rule of putting services on sub is good or bad for the LAB?

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Callmanager to unity integration problem

2008-09-24 Thread Bartosz Sokolowski

Hello,Remember one important thing. On Unity side default CallManager Device name prefix is "CiscoUM1-VI" and unity atomatically adds port number to that eg. 1,2,3 and so on.On CCM side default port name prefix is "CiscoUM1" and CCM adds "-VIx" suffix for that, where x is a port number (1,2,3 and so on).Maybe that's the issue?-- Best regards,Bartosz SokolowskiHi Mike,I can ping from both sidesDefault setting is used, Device names is displayed like Cisco-UM1-VI1I checked service activation page and all of services is runningI deleted integration, and create it again but again during installation I couldn't verify it.
So still same error msg.Any idea?Jeremy
