Hi Otto,

I think i should apologize to the rest of fellow's and of course you too.
This is a very big mistake that i've made and let me unforgettable.
You're right, the CUCMBE is a single server solution which cannot add any
subscriber to the cluster, referring to CUCM SRND page 1017,

"Because Unified CMBE runs on a single hardware platform, it provides a
single instance of
Unified CM (a combined publisher and single subscriber instance, and a
secondary
subscriber instance is not configurable)."

Well, i think re-understand the SRND is what i need to do now before
proceeding with the new setup and installation.

Thanks for all the support.

 Hi Bill,

Regarding the VMWare setup, for VM Server 2.0, there are only two
network mode available which are to "host" only and "bridge". For the ease
of setup, i configured the network option for both nodes connected to host,
so i can monitor the setup easily, other words, my machine is the "gateway"
for both nodes. Both of them able to reach me through icmp ping and each
other vice versa, no any "firewall" in between. Also, there is only a
 single
10.10.210.5 Pub server in VM network. Both nodes are assigned to the same
VMnet interface. You may refer to the attached pic named "CUCM-PUB-SUB &
 RTMT Server connectivity"

 Hi Duy,

IP was used throughout the entire setup, else the CUCM-PUB (10.10.210.5)
ip address will not appear on the validation error screen. Also, from the
jpg named CUCM-PUB-SUB, it shown that the IP address is assigned to PUB and
 SUB.

 Hi Pavan,

Please find attached log files. As the VM node not connecting to a
physical switch, i'm not sure can sniff the VMnet adapter interface. The
environment doesn't contain a DNS server, i tried to reduce the complexity
by not using DNS in IP network.

Guys, i attached another 2 jpg which showing that i initiated the system
validation from CUCM-Sub console while RTMT is ON and monitoring the
process. Please take note on the timestamp on the WINXP machine, showing
20:55:46 which i started the validation. The 2nd jpg named log message 2
showing that the validation has failed, and the RTMT system log showing
that the process ended at 20:55:50. During this period of time, the process
 named

Hi Matthew, Roger,

Just wanted to add some few comments:

1.- According to the h.323 configuration guide for 12.4T and 15.0, the command
zone local includes the RAS port option, i.e, zone local zonename domainname
[ras-ip-address] [port], where port is the RAS listening port on the GK,
however when you take a look at the ios voice command reference the zone local
syntax is zone local gatekeeper-name domain-name [ras-IP-address] [invia
inbound gatekeeper | outvia outbound gatekeeper [enable-intrazone]] which does
not include port potion to set the RAS signaling port. Also when trying with my
2811 router the latter option seems to be the valid one. So my conclusion by
now is that RAS port in the GK should remain at 1719 (default).

3.- You may find also a good explanation and example of this in the CUCM SRND
page 10-96

4.- The owner id in the phone configuration is used also by the phone mobility
softkey to let the system know where the call should be sent (according to the
rdp destination number owner), remote destination will still ring without this
setting

Hi Matthew,
Nice to see that your keeping busy and that you put so high hopes to my
knowledge. :-)

I can't answer all your questions, not right now anyway ;-) I'll look in to
these and get back to you if you haven't got response from someone else.

2. The reason for that dialplan pattern, I guess that's what you are referring
to, can wreck havoc to BACD and CUE is that it changes the ANI of the CME
phones to the full E.164. That might or might not be a problem, depending on
how you have setup the VM boxes and so on. The other part of this question,
registering DN with GK, that depends on what format of the DN that the question
asks for. It might not be stated and then the short number, ie 3002 to take one
of the PL DN's as an example, would be doable to use for registration.

3. You have summarized it pretty well, that's pretty much what app dial rules
are used for. It allows applications like Mobile Connect to change the dialed
number on the fly with the rules that are setup. I also think that it could be
used to change the caller number, but I haven't tried that myself. I usually go
for a H.323 gw whenever I need to get cell phone integrations to work for a
customer, and in that I change the DNIS or ANI to the standard that the telco
what's it in.

Answer to q 4.

* Associations on the end user is used for controlling the phone config
from CCMUSER pages and also to be able to set the primary extension.

* Association on the device is used for, and is mandatory if no UDP is
created for the user, to get the Mobile Connect to work.

* Association on the line is used for presence.

There are certainly more usage for all of these, but these are the keys as far
as I know.

Roger Källberg

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if any one else had the same problem that I have with a
SIP phone registered with CME

CME version 7.0(1) on router 2821 running IOS 12.4(22) T3
Phone - 7962 running SIP load SIP42.8-5-3-4S

The SIP phone is registered with the CME. I can make calls /receive
 calls,

I call from a SCCP/SIP phone registered with CUCM or from a PSTN phone,
call rings on the SIP phone and if I answer the call, everything is good.
However if I don't answer the phone and if I dont hang up the phone I made
the call from, the SIP phone keeps ringing on that line and never
disconnects. I have to reset the phone by unplugging the ethernet and
reboot the phone,

Thanks
Kalyan

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Hold, Xfer, doesn't work, it drops the call when it comes from a CUBE gateway

2010-03-05 Thread Jeff Knuckle
If you didn't make any changes and this problem just suddenly appeared, this
may warrant pointing the finger at the SIP carrier, I would contact them and
ask what are they seeing on their system, what are you sending that their
system doesn't like and is causing them to drop the call.

we did debugs on ccsip, voice ccapi inout,

rebooted the server, restarted tftp, voice media streaming app, no registration
issuew sith HW transcoder and MTP

this is driving me crazy.

we didn't make any change it was working until 5 days ago. i'll keep the
troubleshooting

Did the "debug ccsip message" gave you any indications as to why the calls
dropped? Do you have any registrations issues with HW/SW MTP or transcoders?
Have you tried restarting the Voice Media Streaming App service?

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Hold, Xfer, doesn't work, it drops the call when it
comes from a CUBE gateway

Hello,

we have a production voip implementation, with SIP carriers, 3 days ago we were
reported that MOH wasn't heard by the callers, they get silence and that they
can't transfer calls or if they place a call on hold, when they try to resume
it, it drops.

this is pretty much our topology

SIP carrier --> CUBE --> CUCM --> phones

between CUBE and CUCM it doesn't matter if it's h.323 or sip it drops the calls
any way. the CUBE is sitting on a 3845 running ios 12.4(24)T
it's our main gateway and it hosts 2 different cucm clusters. CUCCM is on
version 6.1.3 latest version of 6.1.3

if i call in, once i put the call on hold after 5 seconds the call is dropped
on the caller end, however on the ip phone the call is displayed as on hold and
then when you press resume it's there the phone shows connected and after 30
secs i get reorder tone

i have a p2 ticket open and we've been troubleshooting for 3 days, and nothing
has improved.

i did some testing yesterday night. if i extend a PRI circuit into the system
everything works like charm
I think the problem is between CUBE and CUCM

hopefully guys you can help me out

thanks

I think I have seen this and if you disable Extension Mobility on the
phone, add the user, re-enable EM should work for you.

Check that at end user you have selected "Allow control of device from

At the end user, also check device association..it must have CUPC and

If it still doesn't work then I would go for deleting the user, making
it again as above and then associating it with the devices.
