I will be out of the office from 04/18/2001 until 04/24/2001.

Since I'm going to be on vacation, I may or may not be able to respond to
your email. I'll try -- but maybe not real hard. O.K.?

RE: ZIPPING with coldfusion = ARJ!

2001-04-18 Thread Raymond B.

ARJ/JAR fell into disuse years ago (as LHARC did before it), RAR superseded
it in that vein of compression utils.

Either way though, handing a LHZ, ARJ, RAR, etc. (or the shortlived ACE) to
your average windows user is like handing a gzipped tarball to a Mac user..
if they even did know how to use it they probably wouldn't bother to install
the utility to decompress it.

Hi Dain. I understand your point and its something that was discussed but
unfortunately, this is what Allaire/Macromedia was comfortable with. Its
fairly open so there shouldn't be any issues.

Again, if there any sticking points, lets bring them up to Macromedia and
see what we can do.

REMOTEPATH not read in Distributed CF Mode

2001-04-18 Thread Teng-Yan Loke

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Dear all

I have a web server where the document root is in c:\netscape\server4\docs.
Then, I have the CF server where the document root is in
f:\netscape\server4\docs\www. So, I configured my cfremote.ini on the web
server with these settings:

LOCALPATH="c:\netscape\server4\docs\"
REMOTEPATH="f:\netscape\server4\docs\www"

When I tried to access the site from the web server, it returns a object
not found error. Checking the webserver.log file on the CF server, I found
that CF is trying to look for the CF files in c:\netscape\server4\docs,
when it should be f:\netscape\server4\docs\www.

It seems like the REMOTEPATH setting is not read at all. Instead, the web
server's CF plug-in module just tells the CF server to look for files in
the LOCALPATH.

Any help please? Thanx.

Charlie,

You could probably use VET (download.com) which is pretty easy to use from
the command line... But i think your better of buying a proper server
anti-virus program that will monitor all data comming in to hard drive.

Re: WDDX.org is now OpenWDDX.org

2001-04-18 Thread Dain Anderson

Rey,

I assure you I'm not trying to explicitly criticize the efforts of OpenWDDX;
rather, I had hoped this movement would've been under the GPL, that's all.
The GPL is something that many have grown to understand -- this just adds
one more license agreement to decipher and understand, when there's already
a sufficiently intuitive one in existence that is the flagship of
open-source.

RE: The Best Clustering Solution

2001-04-18 Thread Aaron Johnson

Hi Paul,

I've worked on a couple clustering solutions. We've resolved replication
issues in the past by having a shared drive array that acts as a single
source of code and Verity. It obviously requires an additional piece of
hardware, but you can always use a shared drive off your database server (if
your database server goes down your CF is usually hosed anyway right?). So
that's replication...

There are a couple ways you can go with clustering: a) hardware device
(Coyotepoint, Cisco, F5, Foundry), or b) software (Windows 2000 Load
Balancing, Coyotepoint). Obviously either choices come with +'s & -'s.

If you're a strictly MS shop, MS has some great kb articles on their site
that discuss your various options, all with a not so subtle M$ bent:

http://search.microsoft.com/us/SearchMS25.asp?so=RECCNT&qu=clustering&boolea
n=ALL&i=00&i=02&i=04&i=06&i=08&i=01&i=03&i=05&i=07&i=09&p=1&nq=NEW

http://search.microsoft.com/us/SearchMS25.asp?so=RECCNT&qu=clustering&qu=loa
d+balancing&boolean=ALL&i=00&i=02&i=04&i=06&i=08&i=01&i=03&i=05&i=07&i=09&p=
1&nq=WITHIN&fqu=*cluster

Are you working on some kind of IP based security? While cgi.remote_addr is
generated by the server, ip address spoofing is not hard, so any ip based
security will not keep out a resourcful hacker.

RE: Problem browsing web pages in the CFStudio editor window

2001-04-18 Thread Christopher Olive, CIO

go to Debug->Development Mappings (Alt-M if you're a shortcut guy)

enter the path that studio "sees" as your studio path. this will be the
same as the "server path" if you're running IIS/PWS locally. then put
"http://localhost/" as your "Browser Path". this is what you would enter if
you were browsing your local machine with IE/NS normally.

hi,

i'd like to be able to browse web pages in the cfstudio editor window.
however, when i click on the browse button above the window i get the
following error message:

"The CF file you are trying to browse cannot be resolved into a URL. Add a
server development mapping to enable URL resolution for this file."

What does 'server development mapping' mean, and how and to where should I
add it?

sincerely,

Re: How secure are cgi variables

Are you working on some kind of IP based security? While cgi.remote_addr is
generated by the server, ip address spoofing is not hard, so any ip based
security will not keep out a resourcful hacker.

Re: The Best Clustering Solution

2001-04-18 Thread Kevin Miller

Round robin DNS is cheap and easy, but there are limitations to its usefulness.

Round robin DNS does not give you fault tolerance, only load balancing. In round
robin DNS, if one server in your two server cluster is down, half of your requests
will go unanswered.

Kevin

>>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 04/18/01 04:49PM >>>
The cheapest way to do this would be setting up a round robin dns system,
and then using win2k's File Replication Service.
 http://www.labmice.net/FileMgmt/FRS.htm

A step up for replication would be Microsoft's new Application Server 2000,
which I must say is tres' slick.
http://www.microsoft.com/applicationcenter/

Win2k Advanced Server also offers load balancing which is not as easy as a
round robin system, but is probably more efficient, at least that is what MS
says ;-) I've done both, and not had a problem with either.

Re: How secure are cgi variables

2001-04-18 Thread Kevin Miller

It depends on which CGI variable you are talking about. Some are set at the server
and can be considered accurate, while others are sent by the client and should not be
trusted.

A concise listing of the types can be found on page 25 of the "Quick Reference Guide
to CFML" that comes with CF 4.5. For a full listing, you will need to reference the
CGI 1.1 spec.

Kevin

>>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 04/18/01 04:10PM >>>
I am playing around with cgi variables to see how secure they are. What I
want to know is there anyway to change say the remote_addr or is that
getting the ip address from somewhere else. I tried changing it to see how
good my security is on a site I am coding and it wouldn't not change the
remote_addr at all (I am using HTTP and httpparam to do this). Anyone have
any insight into this?

Re: vs

In the example he gave there would be a difference between the two, because
the value of myvar was 2, not true. the "EQ TRUE" piece is telling CF to
evaluate the value of myvar against the boolean value "TRUE", which since it
is in fact equal to 2 not True.

That is not exactly true. will evaluate true for any non-zero
value (or the boolean true) while implies that the
comparison is being done on a variable that is a boolean and set to true.

Re: The Best Clustering Solution

2001-04-18 Thread Lanny R. Udey

I don't know if it is the best, but we use the Cisco 11000 (formerly Arrowpoint cs150)
smart content switch for load balancing and file replication. It uses a publish and
subscribe model and works fine with IIS ftp server.

We haven't tested it but the sitecopy at lyra.org looks interesting.

Which is the best solution for clustering just two servers?
Is the solotion supplied by Microsoft any good?

I think they need to put it out GPL instead of this "hyrbrid" license. It
would be much more likely to be accepted by the "open source" crowd and
others in that case.

How secure are cgi variables

2001-04-18 Thread Robert Everland III

I am playing around with cgi variables to see how secure they are. What I
want to know is there anyway to change say the remote_addr or is that
getting the ip address from somewhere else. I tried changing it to see how
good my security is on a site I am coding and it wouldn't not change the
remote_addr at all (I am using HTTP and httpparam to do this). Anyone have
any insight into this?

RE: make the select menu a must select

2001-04-18 Thread Dennis Powers

>> You do know that the disabled property only works in IE, right?

Yes, I only use it for administration pages and intranets where I can
control the browser. I use the disabled feature because I found that people
prefer to not be able to submit the form than have a pop-up box with (in
their words) "that annoying bonk & click" .

Like I had said, there are as many ways to accomplish Paul's task as there
are people to work on the problem.

On the Internet, I never rely on JavaScript for data validation, I validate
the data on the action page, using CF, and if it's incorrect or incomplete I
redisplay the page with the errors noted.

You do know that the disabled property only works in IE, right?

Why don't you use the onsubit action on the form tag to validate data?

Here...

function checkValues(){
if (whaever.test.value == ""){
return false
}
return true
}

The other thing you can do is convert the button from a submit to just a
button. What happens is the submit action will fire regardless of whether
you do anything about it. The onclick even superceeds the submit event, but
that event will fire and you cannot stop it thtough the onlick event of a
submit button.

Paul,

There are plenty of ways to do this, I often use a disabled submit button
and the following function to re-enable it. However you should always do
error checking on the action form.

- place in the head tag -

function GotChange(j)
{
document.forms[0].go.disabled = false;
}

- place in the head tag -

Then use the onChange event

Select Options
Options 1
Options 2

Set the Submit button to disabled.

hi,

i'd like to be able to browse web pages in the cfstudio editor window. however, when

What does 'server development mapping' mean, and how and to where should I add it?

Re: http 500 Internal Server Error and CF installation

2001-04-18 Thread sebastian palmigiani

I found out what the problem was. Under properties of the default web site
there is 'Application Protection' which was set to 'Medium Pooled' and when
I changed it to 'Low IIS Process' I was able to get the administrator page
and cfm pages displayed.

What a day. I started at 6:30 this morning and just now solved it.

Re: Windows NT Error 109 occurred

2001-04-18 Thread Nick McClure

I am not sure what happens there.

From my understanding, the user hits the stop button and the browser quits
accepting connections. The server see this because it did not get a
successful response?

The Windows Error number 109 is logged in the CF Server Log file so I would
assume that it does see this in it kills its threads for that request.

Now depending on What CF is doing this may cause a problem. If CF is
talking to a third party component such as MS Access over ODBC, would
Access know that the connection was closed and that it should stop what it
is doing?

Gel, are you having problems with the CF Server at the same time these
things are happening?

At 02:30 PM 4/18/2001 -0600, you wrote:

Hello everyone.
How do you handle processing dynamic forms?

Here is my example code:

SELECT ID, Category, Item
FROM Equipment
ORDER BY ID

 ID
 Category
 Item
 Quantity

 #equipment.ID#
 #equipment.category#
 #equipment.item#

This code will generate a form with over 150 text boxes. The user
should be able to order more than one item.

Any suggestions on a clever way to process this form would be greatly
appreciated.

I would hate to hard code Item_1, Item_2, Item_3.Item_150.

Thanks in advance.

that depends. i've always had to (per instructions provided by Dave Watts)
reinstall CF. however, the "500 error" is pretty generic. your way will
fix 90% of the problems. however, if he just did an install, he may also be

you need to reinstall Win2K. it comes bundled with MDAC 2.5, and when
installing CF over it, it breaks. just "upgrade" to Win2K FROM win2K and

I'm going nuts!
We have a client who switched hosting of their site to
a company with virtual servers on Solaris (they just let us
know now and their site has all ready been down for a
day). This new hosting company they picked doesn't seem to
know anything about CF other than CF can be installed as an
add-on to their virtual servers. Basically, I went through
the process of installing CF via this company's website
(seemed fairly automated) and it seemed to go ok. When I
went to set up the datasource in the administrator, I
didn't see an Access driver. Our database is access so I'm
not sure what to do since I haven't dealt with Solaris
before. HELP! What is a virtual server anyway?
  Thanks, Christine

You can load html documents into similar to iframes like http://www.yourfile.com/"> their content is harder to change after the

function displayContent(link){

Re: Windows NT Error 109 occurred

2001-04-18 Thread Jim McAtee

Quick HTTP/CF questions:

I take it then that when a user hits STOP, the browser sends a message to
the web server. Correct? Does it send a similar message to the server when
the browser decides to time out?

Does the web server then send a message to CF, saying "nevermind", or is
there no communication, merely the closing of the 'pipe'? If there's no
message, this could have an adverse affect on performance. Not just those
(damned annoying) error messages that fill up the logs, but because CF keeps
on blindly processing STOPPED requests, when the web server is smart enough
to quit processsing them.

Newbie question -- Dynamic form processing

2001-04-18 Thread Melissa Fraher

Hello everyone.
How do you handle processing dynamic forms?

Here is my example code:

SELECT ID, Category, Item
FROM Equipment
ORDER BY ID

 ID
 Category
 Item
 Quantity

 #equipment.ID#
 #equipment.category#
 #equipment.item#

This code will generate a form with over 150 text boxes. The user
should be able to order more than one item.

Any suggestions on a clever way to process this form would be greatly
appreciated.

I would hate to hard code Item_1, Item_2, Item_3.Item_150.

Thanks in advance.

Melisas

you need to reinstall Win2K. it comes bundled with MDAC 2.5, and when
installing CF over it, it breaks. just "upgrade" to Win2K FROM win2K and
it'll be fine.

I have just installed CFServer 4.5.1 on Windows 2000 with IIS. I get the
html pages to display but not the cfm pages, when for example, going to the
cf administrator page. I get an http 500 Internal Server Error. I have
followed all the instructions in the knowledge base article 7671 and the
problem persists.

There has to be a simple fix for this but I can't figure it out.

Thanks,
Sebastian

RE: make the select menu a must select

2001-04-18 Thread Costas Piliotis

You do know that the disabled property only works in IE, right?

Why don't you use the onsubit action on the form tag to validate data?

Here...

function checkValues(){
if (whaever.test.value == ""){
return false
}
return true
}

{
document.forms[0].go.disabled = false;
}

- place in the head tag -

Then use the onChange event

Select Options
Options 1
Options 2

Set the Submit button to disabled.

Re: CFML not being executed

2001-04-18 Thread Chad Gray

I had a really strange thing happen a week ago.

The power died and the NT server shut down hard. I could not get CF server
to run CFML pages, just HTML. I looked in the CFUSION directory and the
entire BIN folder was missing. All the exe files are in this folder.

I re-installed CFserver and everything works fine.

RE: OT: HTML editor for idiots? recommendation?

2001-04-18 Thread Garza, Jeff

Well, it really doesn't get much easier than Dreamweaver, but if you want
really dumbed down (I MEAN REALLY DUMBED DOWN!!!) you could use Word.

Now, I know you don't want them posting that kind of garbage to the site.

Really though, a simple content management system is not that difficult.
Should take 30 minutes - 1 hour to design and code from the ground up. Add,
edit and delete...

I never let a user/client have any access to source code or allow them to
post their own files to the server. Definite recipe for disaster.
Especially when they are as illiterate as you state. You could probably
code it using EZEdit (free) for the same cost as a licensed version of
Dreamweaver. (That's $300 per hour!!!)

But I guess I didn't describe the situation well.
This client is very small, can't spend much money, and has ZERO knowledge of

'First Page' is *not* wysiwyg you have to edit HTML code directly.
Spectra, EZEdit, ActiveEdit, and eWebEditPro all require building a database
document management system.
I've done this before for other clients (by the way eWebEditPro is
excellent) but it would be overkill for this and I'm not doing it for FREE
anyway.

I *assume* DreamWeaver is too complicated/powerful for this client. Am I
wrong about this?

So, can someone recommend an EASY What-You-see-is-what-you-get WEB PAGE
editor that does not require ANY knowledge of HTML to simply edit the PLAIN
TEXT parts of a web page? Built in upload/download would be better than
requiring the use of a separate FTP program.

Slightly OT: Netscape Layers, I need a dynamically Drawn line

2001-04-18 Thread Terry Bader

(skip this if you dont care about the intro)
Ok, I have this very complex interface created (lets see it is a based off a
5 dimensional structure using arrays and structures)
Now every cell has a certain dimension (x/y value)... thus creating a
grid.
well some cells refer to other cells located in the page. Now I have
already created a LAYER for each relationship where 2 cells that should be
connected are at the corners of the layer. I am currently using a messed up
way of connecting the corners by using a diagonal line on a transparent GIF
background and setting the WIDTH=100% and HEIGHT=100% thusly stretching it
to the corners but as you now, when images are stretched, they become
distorted

(what i'm really looking for here)
SOO... I was wondering if anyone has worked with drawing lines from one
coordinate to another on a page or Layer

RE: OT: HTML editor for idiots? recommendation?

2001-04-18 Thread Peter Froh

I am currently using EZedit to edit text files that are then included into
the web document.

If the web documents are CFM pages then I use CFINCLUDE, if they are html
pages then I use shtml and use SSI includes (or you can try and convince
your ISP to allow HTML and HTM files to be processed by the SSI engine).
Either way you can use EZedit to edit the text files and use CFFILE to save
those changes. The users changes will automatically show up in the web
documents using "include" technology.

If you want to you could wrap the edit features into a security model for
your client so only valid users can edit the text files. If there are many
text files, just create a simple menu that links to the text file inserted
into EZedit. It's pretty easy to implement. I did a rough draft in about
10 minutes.

If that is not simple and cheap for your client, then you might consider
purchasing a "Sams Teach Yourself FrontPage in 24 Hours" book for the client
and send them on their way.

It always seems that clients want CHEAP, FAST, GOOD!

I hope this helps you out.

You need to be a little more careful. You posted a link to a site which
contains the Jscript seeker worm. Nice. Fortunately, my AV software caught
it, but that is most definitely not cool. And if you did it on purpose, you

Access and Solaris

2001-04-18 Thread Christine Kelley

CFGRID and Date Formats

2001-04-18 Thread Douglas Knudsen

How does one format a date field in a CFGRID? I have a field x in a
database that is of the data-type date. I use CFQUERY to get the
records with this field. I dump the records into a CFGRID. It
displays the full date stuff -mm-dd hh-mm-ss but I don't want all
that displayed.

Cheers!

RE: OT: DNS

2001-04-18 Thread Dylan Bromby

i guess i should've chosen my terminology more carefully. i'm not doing a
literal migration in the sense of migrating the actual zone or RRs. i'm just
switching products.

MS has been doing DNS since NT 4.0. i recall some problems. but i'm hearing
more and more people are happy with the WIN2K release. i was using MetaInfo
DNS 2.1 for years. then i went to MetaIP 4.1. so now we'll see how MS DNS
2.0 works :). so far, i have to say it's pretty easy.

I haven't participated in the specific type of migration you mentioned, but
I can tell you that if you're going to use Active Diretory in Win2K you
should allow AD to install DNS as part of it's own installation (DCPROMO).
It is far more reliable this way. There is a workaround you can use to
migrate DNS records and still do this. Every indication I've seen and heard
so far is that Win2K DNS works well. Which is quite amazing considering how
new Microsoft is to the DNS game!

There has to be a simple fix for this but I can't figure it out.

Paul,

There are plenty of ways to do this, I often use a disabled submit button
and the following function to re-enable it. However you should always do
error checking on the action form.

- place in the head tag -

function GotChange(j)
{
document.forms[0].go.disabled = false;
}

- place in the head tag -

Then use the onChange event

If I'm correct, I believe these are errors that are recorded when you stop
your browser... say when you are running a CF template that contains a query
and you 'stop' the browser before it ends and displays the template with the
information from the query.

We have gotten these and I believe this was the reason.

WDDX.org is now OpenWDDX.org

2001-04-18 Thread scoe

Effective today, Macromedia has formally transitioned responsibility for the
Web Distributed Data Exchange (WDDX) Web site to a third party. All
information that has been posted to the WDDX Web site, wddx.org, can now be
found at http://www.openwddx.org.

WDDX is an XML-based technology that enables the exchange of complex data
between applications, creating what some refer to as 'Web syndicate
networks' and enabling Web Services. Allaire created WDDX in order to solve
key problems in exchanging data between Web applications. In particular,
Simeon Simeonov, Allaire's chief architect, created WDDX to support problems
of distributed computing within ColdFusion. This work was generalized into a
cross-language framework, and resulted in the creation of the WDDX SDK and
WDDX.org. Nate Weiss, an independent Web developer, with the support of
Allaire and a number of other third parties, created the WDDX SDK.

Transferring responsibility for this Web site is consistent with our overall
goal of supporting this technology within the public domain. As creator of
the technology, Allaire Corp. was at times perceived as the owner and formal
supporter of the technology, and that WDDX was a proprietary technology.
The establishment of OpenWDDX.org is intended to rekindle enthusiasm and
acceptance of WDDX in the developer community, and confirm its role as an
independent and enabling technology.

For more information, and a complete FAQ about the WDDX initiative, please
visit http://www.openwddx.org.

Re: OT: HTML editor for idiots? recommendation?

2001-04-18 Thread Peter Theobald

Thanks everyone for lots of comments...
But I guess I didn't describe the situation well.
This client is very small, can't spend much money, and has ZERO knowledge of HTML
(hence the analogy of my Grandmother has to be able to use it)

'First Page' is *not* wysiwyg you have to edit HTML code directly.
Spectra, EZEdit, ActiveEdit, and eWebEditPro all require building a database document
management system.
I've done this before for other clients (by the way eWebEditPro is excellent) but it
would be overkill for this and I'm not doing it for FREE anyway.

I *assume* DreamWeaver is too complicated/powerful for this client. Am I wrong about
this?

So, can someone recommend an EASY What-You-see-is-what-you-get WEB PAGE editor that
does not require ANY knowledge of HTML to simply edit the PLAIN TEXT parts of a web
page? Built in upload/download would be better than requiring the use of a separate
FTP program.

Re: CFML not being executed

2001-04-18 Thread Bryan LaPlante

Couple of things to look for. Forgive me I am not sitting at my W2k machine
but you need to go to computer manager and find the IIS manager.
Right click on the default web site or the site in question and go to the
home directory tab.
Look at application settings and see if you have an entry for the name
called default application.
Click on the configure button and go to the add mappings tab.
Look an see if you have an entry for .cfm pointed to c:\CFUSION\bin\iscf.dll
or where ever you have cf installed.

If you don't see all of this go back to the home directory and click on
create to enable a default application for IIS to send script requests to.

Start there and see if that fixes ya.

Re: syntax for cli execution of a cfm page?

2001-04-18 Thread Mark Woods

The cfml.exe executes the template specified in the CF_TEMPLATE_PATH
environment variable. So first set this to the physical path to the CFML
template you want to execute. e.g.
set CF_TEMPLATE_PATH=c:\inetpub\wwwroot\temp\test.cfm
then run cfml.exe
c:\cfusion\cfml.exe

You can also pass query strings using the environment variable
QUERY_STRING. BTW, tis a good idea to always set this to something (even a
blank string) to make sure you are not passing a query string set for one
template into another.

Re: OT: DNS

2001-04-18 Thread GoingSideways

I haven't participated in the specific type of migration you mentioned, but I can tell
you that if you're going to use Active Diretory in Win2K you should allow AD to
install DNS as part of it's own installation (DCPROMO). It is far more reliable this
way. There is a workaround you can use to migrate DNS records and still do this.
Every indication I've seen and heard so far is that Win2K DNS works well. Which is
quite amazing considering how new Microsoft is to the DNS game!

What is the syntax to use to execute a cfm page directly from the commmand
line? Something like cfml.exe /path/to/template.cfm?

(Win2000, CF4.5)

Also, where does the output go of the page when you do this?
And, does RequestTimeout have any use here, or will the process run as
long as it takes...?

Yes.

Your Attributes.startdatetime is a DateTime field.
That in the SQL Line should be the field name you
are doing the Datetime comparison.

Ex:

(worker = 2) AND
(myDateTimeField BETWEEN '01/04/01 12:15:00' AND '04/04/01 12:15:00')

RE: Trouble with controlling decimal places in Access table curre ncy datatype

2001-04-18 Thread Braver, Ben

Erika,

Good question! -- in this case, it was an audit requirement for exact
calculations re: annual pay increases under a union contract.

The payroll folks were giving us (IT) the data in a Currency field, with
formatting showing 2 decimal places. They were unaware that internally it
contained 4 decimal places.

We probably could have "proved" to the audit folks that the rounding always
worked correctly, but it was politically easier to simply process the file
to 2 real decimal places, send it back to the payroll folks to "certify",
then import the certified file into Oracle "untouched by human hands".

(As you may have encountered, sometimes it's hard to convince folks and is
just easier to give them what they ask for...)

Your mileage may vary .

Ben,,

Why would you want to control what the database has in it to begin with? You
can always format the display. is it because of exact calculations? The
results are always off because of the four digits after the decimal? (ie,
gas prices 1.69, blah,blah,blah)

Just curious

(Although they say, curiosity killed the cat!)

There has to be a simple fix for this but I can't figure it out.

RE: From MSSQL7 To SQL 2000

2001-04-18 Thread Lee Fuller

That's not ENTIRELY true.

If your'e using Spectra (I know this isn't that list.. But it's worth
the mention) you're in for a surprise. And actually seems to do the
same thing on either SQL 7 or 2000, but doesn't seem to manifest itself
until after the upgrade (i.e., if you go back to 7 from 2000.. It will
still occur)...

Problem is that the Data Transformation features stop working from the
Enterprise Manager or from the DTS Wizard itself. Doing the processing
automatically (i.e., scheduled) or programmatically seems to work fine.
Only the gui's stop working.

Other than that.. It's nicer.. For certain.
