Payments were getting processed but the results confirmation didn't work. This is on Coldfusion 8. That was exactly the problem, on CF 9 also. the certificate needed is the Verisign G5 certificate In my case, the certificate I got from the Paypal site was a Symantec certificate. Re: Sudden error with CFHTTP ans SSL
When I read these messages, I checked one of my old websites that uses paypal integration services and found that it stopped working. Payments were getting processed but the results confirmation didn't work. This is on Coldfusion 8. Thanks to this thread I found the problem and fixed it.. but just to make it faster for others... the certificate needed is the Verisign G5 certificate which you can get at https://knowledge.verisign.com/support/mpki-for-ssl-support/index?page=contentactp=CROSSLINKid=SO5624 To see if you have it installed - and to install it if you don't, use: https://github.com/webdevsourcerer/CF-CertMan and install the version for your coldfusion version. After installing, you need to restart the cold fusion service. For those that like details, the paypal notice is at https://ppmts.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/471495/1425083092/redirect/1/filename/2015%20Merchant%20Security%20System%20Upgrade%20Guide%20(U.S.%20English).pdf Thanks ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:360367 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm

Re: Sudden error with CFHTTP ans SSL
What is the URL and does the domain name match the certificate exactly, meaning not a wildcard certificate. Could be PayPal updated their SSL certificate and is either a wildcard certificate or multi-site/domain certificate (not sure what these are really called). CF will not like it if the domain is www.domain.com, but the certificate is *.domain.com. In this case, you need to import the certificate to the java cacerts as a trusted certificate to by-pass the security matching. You can either do this from the command line, or by far the easier route is this extension to CF admin. http://certman.riaforge.org/ https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instantion=1espv=2ie=UTF-8#q=import+ssl+certificate+coldfusion+9+to+cacerts ~Byron On Mon, Mar 30, 2015 at 12:34 PM, wrote: Hi, I have an application under CF 9 with a paiment module using Paypal. I replied to this days ago but the list rejected it. if you enabled detailed errors then you might get more details if it is a CFM issue however I suspect this is a problem with the cf connector not being to handle virtual directories, I have not really bothered with cf10/11 so have not tested this. But you may need to add a mapping in the uriworkermap.properties file, see here for general instructions https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion10-iis-manual-connector-configuration.html try adding a mapping for /your vDir/* = cfusion On Mon, Mar 30, 2015 at 2:34 PM, David Phelan dphe...@emerginghealthit.com wrote: I have run into this very issue. Error calling a .net object
I have a problem I wanted to run by the list. Iâm recently back in the coldfusion world after a several year hiatus. Iâm in the process of trying to access the methods of a .net component, at this point as a proof of concept. Once I can do something with it Iâll actually start building the app. I set up the object like this: cfset dll = ExpandPath('./com/Interop.CADXLib.dll') cfobject class=CADXLib.CadX type=.NET name=cadx assembly=#dll#â Thatâs in my application.cfc, in the onRequestStart() method. Then in my index.cfm I call: cfdump var=#cadx#â The object dumps just fine. I can see all the internal methods, including the one I need to get things going, the OpenDesign() method, which (in theory) opens a local file and reads the contents. So next I set the actual filename I want to access: cfset thisfile=1571269P01R01_ARTIOS.ARD cfset thispath=getDirectoryfromPath(getCurrentTemplatePath()) cfset thisfile=thispath thisfile This works, and outputting âthistfileâ gives me the correct path location. So now I call the actual method: cfset result=cadx.OpenDesign(thisfile,0) Thatâs where I get stuck. I get this error: Either there are no methods with the specified method name and argument types or the OpenDesign method is overloaded with argument types that ColdFusion cannot decipher reliably. ColdFusion found 0 methods that match the provided arguments. If this is a Java object and you verified that the method exists, use the javacast function to reduce ambiguity. I javacast the arguments and get the same error. Method not found. But based on the dump, the method is clearly there. Still no dice. Im banging my head against the wall on this one. I know Ive got the right path I opened it up with cffile and dump it to the screen and its there. I dont have an asp application using it, going to try that next. If I can get it to work there, at least it will give me some indication of where the issue might be. Re: Error calling a .net object
Its not necessarily saying the method doesn't exist, it is saying it doesn't exist with the arguments and/or argument TYPEs you are giving it. Look at the types in the dump of the method you mentioned and try to javacast() your values to match those types when passing them in. example: opendesign(javacast('string',thisfile), javacast('int',0)) ...assuming that it is actually expecting a simple string and int. If that doesn't work, try posting the method dump or (if you have it) a working.NET example of how it is used. Coldfusion hotfix 14 causes [Macromedia][Oracle JDBC Driver]Internal error: Net8 protocol error
Has anyone upgraded to hotfix patch 14 on their servers and started experiencing a [Macromedia][Oracle JDBC Driver]Internal error: Net8 protocol error or a [Macromedia][Oracle JDBC Driver]Operation cancelled by user request? After applying this patch some of our SQL statements started generating these errors. If we roll back our servers to hotfix 11, the error goes away. We did notice that in hotfix 11 the jdbc driver version is atColdFusion10/cfusion/lib/postgresql-8.3-604.jdbc3.jar vs in hotfix 14 the jdbc driver changes to ColdFusion10/cfusion/lib/postgresql-9.3-1101.jdbc41.jar Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot? ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:359903 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm

Re: Bcrypt.class error
Thanks Byron, Yes, the error is being generated by the checkpw method. Since the method is working as written, I don't think that moving the checkpw call to a set statement will alleviate the issue. When it decides to fail, it fails using the exact same credentials call from the client side, so I know that it is not an issue of incorrect values being passed in. Also, even with the more granular error checking, if the checkpw method decided to start failing, I would ultimately receive the ambiguous NullPointerException error. I may add the additional tests once the app goes live, since I won't be dealing with controlled data, but I don't think that it will benefit me with this current issue. I am trying the application scoped suggestion as offered by Russ, since I know that I can refresh that variable even if the webservice is cached somewhere else. So far it has not failed again, so I am hoping that it solved the issue. Thanks again for you input Byron. Bcrypt.class error
I am using the java bcrypt class library to encrypt passwords on one of my sites and it is working fine. However, I am extending the app with a webservice and using the same bcrypt library to authenticate logins. This works fine for a period of time and then stops working. The error that I receive is An exception occurred when executing method checkpw.. The error detail is The cause of this exception was that: java.lang.NullPointerException.. Even when I start to receive this error, I am still able to make the exact same call from within a CF template without a problem. But being called from the webservice, I get the error. I have tried reinitializing the app to no avail. The only way that I have been able to fix the issue is by rebooting CF. I am using ACF 10 and here is the code that I am using to call bcrypt. component displayname=Consumer API output=false wsversion=2 namespace=http://mydomain/; { variables.bcrypt = CreateObject(java, BCrypt); remote struct function authenticate() returnformat=JSON { var results = {}; var memberEmail = ; var password = ; var token = ; results.status = 0; results.message = Invalid email or password; if (isSOAPRequest()){ try { memberEmail = getSOAPRequestHeader(http://mydomain/;, memberEmail); password = getSOAPRequestHeader(http://mydomain/;, password); if (isValid(email, memberEmail)){ Member = entityLoad(Member,{email=memberEmail},true); if (NOT isNull(Member)){ if (bcrypt.checkpw(lcase(password),Member.getMemberPassword())){ results.message = Successfully Authenticated; token = variables.utility.formStringEncrypt(Member.getMemberID()); addSOAPResponseHeader(http://mydomain/;, token, token, false); results.status = 1; results.message = Member authenticated; } else { addSOAPResponseHeader(http://mydomain/;, token, token, false); } } else { addSOAPResponseHeader(http://mydomain/;, token, token, false); } } else { addSOAPResponseHeader(http://mydomain/;, token, token, false); } } catch(Any e) { results.message = Error processing request.; sendError(e); } } else { results.message = Not invoked as a web service; } return results; } } Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- [image: profile picture] *Dean Lawrence* *President* Internet Data Technology *Phone:* 888-438-4381 x701 *Web:* www.idatatech.com *Email:* d...@idatatech.com Programming | Database | Consulting | Training ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:359854 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm

Re: Bcrypt.class error
Yea, it is the generic nature of the error that is so frustrating. Like I said, I can still call the same class file and make the identical method call from another cf file even after the webservice starts throwing the error, so my assumption is that it is being cached somewhere. I tried clearing the template and cfc caches which had no affect on it though. If I knew that I could reset it without having to reboot CF, I could then build a test to do so on error. I'll try your suggestion of caching it in the application scope and see if that fixes the issue. Thanks Russ. Re: Bcrypt.class error
Based on your description, I think this is the line causing an error. bcrypt.checkpw(lcase(password),Member.getMemberPassword()) I might just add some more granular logging before the statement that would maybe nail down what is amiss. try { writeoutput(lcase(password)); } catch (any e) { write error 1 } try { writeoutput(Member.getMemberPassword()); } catch (any e) { write error 2 } try { writeoutput(bcrypt.checkpw('test','test')); } catch (any e) { write error 3 } try { writeoutput(bcrypt.checkpw(lcase(password),Member. getMemberPassword())); } catch (any e) { write error 4 } bcrypt.checkpw(lcase(password),Member.getMemberPassword()) Could maybe also pull out the checkpw function from inside the if an set to a variable. var chkResult = bcrypt.checkpw(lcase(password),Member.getMemberPassword()) if(isDefined(chkResult) and !isNull(chkResult) and isBoolean(chkResult) and chkResult){. if statement might be a bit overkill, but may handle the error more gracefully. Re: bypassing the site-wide error handler
Thanks Dave, Rodney. That really helped. It turned out our issue was the same cfscript in the application's header and the sitewide error handler's header. When the second instance of cfscript tried to run, it broke the error handler, thus presenting the raw error to the user. best, Chris On Mon, Dec 8, 2014 at 10:02 PM, Rodney Enke renk...@gmail.com wrote: The site wide error handler will not run if there is a local error handler, such as CFTRY/CFCATCH or CFERROR, unless the CFTRY/CFCATCH block rethrows the error. - Rodney On Mon, Dec 8, 2014 at 8:52 PM, Dave Watts dwa...@figleaf.com wrote: Hi, when can an application bypass the CF v9 site-wide error handler? Re: incoming tabular data stream error?
I'll make a recommendation here that may or may not apply, but may be worth noting. This is assuming ms sql Server. Insert...values... Insert...values... , n Will be much slower from SQL perspective than: Insert... Values(...) , (...) , (...) , n Or Begin tran Insert... Values... Insert... Values... , n Commit tran First option is preferred. I only mention this as cfthread will just speed up the sql statement generation (ie , looping over the spreadsheet) and not the actual sql execution time (or at least it sounds like in this instance) . You may be able to include some of these sql performance tweaks to improve performance further. Your query has six parameters. Multiplying 6 by 600 gives you 3600, which is significantly higher than 2100. You can either remove your CFQUERYPARAMs (which might be ok if your data isn't coming from an untrusted source), or you can limit your batch size so you don't exceed 2100 parameters per CFQUERY tag. You could either loop over the CFQUERY tag itself (which might well cause other performance issues) or you could make sure your loop doesn't exceed 350 records (2100 divided by 6) by having an outer loop and an inner loop. You can either remove your CFQUERYPARAMs (which might be ok if your data isn't coming from an untrusted source), or you can limit your batch size so you don't exceed 2100 parameters per CFQUERY tag. Might try this first. It's from inside a client admin system, and there's a specifically formatted xlsx sheet they use for this. Plus, all the vars are cleaned before the insert as well. You could either loop over the CFQUERY tag itself (which might well cause other performance issues) It definitely does. One test spreadsheet I've got is over 15,000 records, and I might as well go get lunch. Usually the server resets the connection before it completes... or you could make sure your loop doesn't exceed 350 records (2100 divided by 6) by having an outer loop and an inner loop. Could this be a job for cfthread? Split a large list up into 4 or 5 threads and just let them run (as soon as I get my head around the math... heh)? Seems that would speed things up a good bit, but I've never used cfthread before. I've seen this before when the CF service suddenly terminates. Could be the service terminated during an update to the xml file rendering it empty. A subsequent restart of CF may have created a backup of the xml file before stopping, rendering the bak file empty as well. We moved to clustered configuration for scheduled tasks which keeps all the tasks in a database instead of a file. This has been really nice, since we have 12 instance running for all our internals. I think the only issue we have seen is the next run time not being updated appropriately. This was a new feature implemented in CF10. something else I noticed... These is no cfide folder under wwwroot. see pics You can't post pics here. That said, you'll need to do the following: 1. Make sure that the CF user account can access the IIS webroot (read/execute) and the CF directory itself (read/write/execute/delete). 2. Make sure that the IIS virtual server user account can access the IIS webroot (read/execute) and the subdirectory within the CF directory that contains the IIS integration component (c:\coldfusion11\config\wsconfig if you're using CF 11).
