[cfaussie] ECLIPSE / Flex Builder HTML Plug-in

2008-05-01 Thread Steve Onnis

What are people using for their HTML plug-in for Eclipse?

I was having a look at http://www.aptana.com/studio again but last time I
used it, the plug-in was very heavy and kept crashing my Eclipse.

Any other suggestions?

Steve

2008-05-01 Thread barry.b

yeah, I've tried using Aptana but don't think much of it (crashes on
me too)

how about http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/ ?

although to be honest, I'm currently using DreamWeaver, mainly for
layout and CSS. It's not bad, I'm surviving it

[cfaussie] Cold Fusion 8 and CFPDF

2008-05-01 Thread Claude Raiola
Does anyone know how to create dynamic interactive pdf forms using the new
CFPDF function in CF8 where logos in each form can be dynamically generate
in the same way text content is able to

The objective is to make a white label application form where by each member
can dynamically generate their own application form on the pdf created on
the fly not only contains interactive form fields and the corporate details
for each member as text but also have the clients corporate logo appear
within the pdf form as well.

That's a bit scarey... If you let visitors specify the full path then
they can read your code (or anything else on your sever). Example:

 download.cfm?D:\inetpub\mydomain\wwwroot\amp;filename=application.cfc

The path should not be passed via the url. Also you should check user
security when they hit the download.cfm page or else that url will
work for all users if they pass it on.

[cfaussie] CF Meetup at a more Aussie-friendly time: 11pm US EDT (1pm Friday, Sydney time)

2008-05-01 Thread charlie arehart

Hello my Aussie friends, I wanted to let you know that today (your Friday)
we will be having the Online CF Meetup event at a special time, more
conducive to you (and many others around the world). We normally meet at
noon and 6pm US EDT, but today's meeting will be at 11pm (Thursday, US EDT).
That's 1pm in the Aussie east coast.

You can find the exact time for you using this work clock feature, which
shows the time fixed at 11pm US EDT and you can see the time in your city:

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?year=2008month=5day=1
hour=23min=00sec=0p1=25

The talk is by Robin Hilliard, talking on the new CFInterface tag in CF8.
You can find more details about that, and our meeting at noon US EDT (by
yours truly, on using RDS in Eclipse, DW, and HomeSite+/CF Studio), as well
as about the CF meetup in general, at http://coldfusionmeetup.com.

Just thought some may appreciate a special heads up about the special time,
and a preso to the world by one of your own. :-)

/charlie

I've just discovered the Network Nazi's here have blocked

2008-05-01 Thread Andrew Scott

Barry,

However there is one thing you can do. It won't change the outcome in
anyway. But Coldfusion gives you this.

Form.fieldnames

It is a list of all the fields, so you might write this instead, and notice
you no longer need to check the length anymore. Not sure why you had that
there to be honest with you?

cfloop list=#form.fieldnames# index=field
cfif field contains hdnPersPBA_
!--- found the hidden field and it's not just the empty
template form field ---

I've always done it like this [1], loop over the FORM scope as a
collection looking for specific FORM fields.
but is there a better way?

in this case fields could be named

hdnPersPBA_
hdnPersPBA_1
hdnPersPBA_2
...
hdnPersPBA_n
(there's lots of fields like this)

I just need to find the suffix of this form field so I can find all
its related ones:
selPersTit_#suffix#
There can potentially be a couple of hundred form fields

thoughts?
thanx

cfloop collection=#FORM# item=field
cfif field contains hdnPersPBA_ and len(field) GT
len(hdnPersPBA_)

yeah, you're right - that was one of the choices.

(FYI - there is a caveat there: there's a bunch of reserved suffixes
that won't show up in FORM.fieldnames ... _date and _time are a
couple)

I was going to look at form.fieldnames as a list to search but I
really need ListFind() to either return an array of matches or use a
starting find attribute for the next one ...

Hmmm... maybe a regex find within form.fieldnames, return a bunch of
em? you've got me thinking now... it's just _gotta_ be faster than
looping over the FORM scope, surely.

thanx Andrew..

[cfaussie] Re: is there a more efficent way of finding keys in FORM scope?

2008-05-01 Thread Andrew Scott

Barry,

That page is extremely confusing

I understand what it is trying to say, however let's look at the _Date
validation.

As it states, for _Date Verifies that the user entered a date and converts
the date into the proper ODBC date format. Yet the action page then checks
to see if the StartDate is defined?

That sort of really doesn't make sense?

Now having said this, I did not know that in normal HTML you could do this
form of validation? How is it achieved, I would assume when the form is
submitted the engine most do some post checking etc.

(FYI - there is a caveat there: there's a bunch of reserved suffixes
that won't show up in FORM.fieldnames ... _date and _time are a
 couple)

found it: it doesn't apply to my case here but it's perhaps worth
remembering:

What about

cfset temp = StructKeyList(FORM)

!--- cfset temp = REReplaceNoCase(temp,customregexp,,ALL) ---

Cheers
Gareth.

yeah, you're right - that was one of the choices.
