Re: [Chevelle-list] : Need Wiring help please!
Hello, Been on the list for a while and have listed a few times in the past. Just want to say keep up the good work! I have enjoyed reading each and every topic. Anyways, the reason I am writing today is I need help with wiring issues on my '70 chevelle. I recently changed the engine and forward lamp harnesses due to my old ones finally deciding that they didn't want to work anymore. This past weekend, I also changed the dash harness (SS dash with warning lights) with a new one. My problem now is my turn signals don't work, I have no back-up lights and my wipers don't work. I have triped checked all connections but can't find anything wrong. The car starts up and runs and all other lights and things work. The only thing I noticed is that my car wants to start in all the gears (auto transmission). I was wondering if my neutral safety switch is bad and could be causing some of these problems. I appreciate any help you can give as my car has been parked for nearly 3 1/2 months with no solutions. I really miss my car! Thanks in advance, Chuck P.S. I also recently changed the ignition switch, but no luck there. _ Click here for a FREE online computer virus scan from McAfee. http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963
Re: [Chevelle-list] Original Keys
Krister, I have the original keys for my '66. One side is stamped GM Your Keys to Success. The other side is stamped Briggs Stratton Corporation, Milwaukee, Wis. I would guess that the Racine stamp on your keys is for the dealership that sold the car. Here's why. I am the 5th owner of my '66 Chevelle SS, the word passed down is that the car was supposedly originally bought in Racine, WI. I have the original GM keys, one still was the key code knock out still in place. The keys also have Racine, WIS stamped on them. All GM original keys are made by Briggs and Stratton (a little trivia) which is located outside of Milwaukee, WI just north of Racine. I am trying to determine if the Racine, WIS stamped on my keys is for the selling dealer or because of the keys being made by Briggs and Stratton? Thank you, Krister Meister Bloomingdale, IL '66 SS #'s matching
[Chevelle-list] 64 window hard to roll down
Hi, My 64 convertible has a driver's side window that is very hard to roll down. It takes two hands to move the crank a quarter of a turn at a time. There are no problems with rolling it back up and performs normally in this operation. The window is straight when going up and down, so it does not appear to be an alignment problem. Can anyone offer some help on how to fix this so I don't end up snapping the crank handle or damaging something inside the door (regulator, etc). I have not seen non-power window replacement regulators for sale in the catalogs. If this is the problem, does anyone know where to get them? Thanks, Gary
[Chevelle-list] (no subject)
Hi I just want to thank those who responded to my post about removing the speedometer from my 66. I am on digest and should have asked earlier. I couldn't wait for the next digest and stubbornly plugged ahead (weather was decent, above freezing, and I had to do something). I eventually got the instrument cluster out without removing the dash. I had to remove lots of other things too but I made it. Another question, has anyone taken the instrument cluster apart? My problem is the odometer quit and Id like to fix it. If not, does anyone have any recommendations on someone who could repair it? Thanks again Mark
Re: [Chevelle-list] (no subject)
have a 67 (same speedo) and bought a replacement, used and working on ebay. just the speedo, not the entire guage unit. you will see them on there every so often.i have the same problem, speedo works but the odometer dont, so i will be pulling mine soon. Re: [Chevelle-list] 64 window hard to roll down
Gary, It sounds like the window glass may have gotten on the wrong side of the glass channel rubber or the rubber may have come apart and is jamming the glass on the down stroke. I doubt it's the regulator. Have you had any of the adjusters loose? Check the rear adjuster by loosening the bolts on the doors back edge so the adjuster can move freely. Something is jamming the glass as it trys to go down. [Chevelle-list] Hello everyone
Hi! I just wanted to say hello to all and share my great find. I just purchased a 72 chevelle 4 dr sedan. I know its a 4dr, but everything is still factory except for the steering wheel. All the #s match, has the factory hubcaps, spare tire and jack, seat belt alarm with shoulder straps, headliner and interior is in GREAT shape, (except I need a glove box door). She still has original paint, 43 sea mist green metallic. I love older cars, and this to me was like hitting the lottery. I have had a few 2drs before, but never this close to factory. Well, thanks for letting me share my wonderful find. Hopefully I will get pictures soon. Have a great day, love the list!!! Debbie Rockwell

Good for you Debbie, enjoy your new car. Can you give us a ball park figure on what you paid for it? I also have a green steering wheel (well I did when I left home 2 years ago) from a 71 if that would be any help? Get back to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Bob 71 elky

Very cool! I will have to compare that color to my '70 2-door cause that color describes it perfectly. My '72 4-door is 26 26 blue which is my favorite color ... blue. Congratulations and welcome to the club!!! - Original Message - From: Debra Rockwell To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, February 16, 2004 7:56 PM Subject: [Chevelle-list] Hello everyone Hi!
