That would almost sound cool except it's the short filter! I used the PF35 on my sixes for years, then switched to the 1218 when I realized it was same filter but with an anti drainback added. Nice to finally have their ok I noticed on my 6 Cyl engines the PF1218 seems to get the oil pressure up sooner, since it's supposedly still full of oil from last time engine was run. Re: [Chevelle-list] chrome water pump
The first one was a chrome plated steel pump from Summit racing. The latest is a chrome plated aluminum pump made by ???. I found the receipt, and sent the people an e-mail, we'll see what happens.. I think I'll just get a polished aluminum one.. these chrome ones have bit me twice, and it's starting to hurt! Re: [Chevelle-list] Which oil Filter do I use
AC Delco number PF 1218 is the long one, that is the one I use. It superceeded number PF 35. Tom
RE: [Chevelle-list] Which oil Filter do I use
The standard filter for 68 to 72 (at least) is an AC Delco PF25, the longer filter (1/2 qt more capacity) is an PF35 and the long filter with the anti-drainback valve is PF1218. If you're using Fram, STP, Purolator, etc, you'll have to x-ref those numbers. The AC part nos. may have been superceded but any good parts store x-ref book should get you to their brand. RE: [Chevelle-list] chrome water pump
I have had a Summit chrome pump (actually made by 'TuffStuff') on my big block since 1987 and never had any trouble with it. Only difference I've found with this pump is the lower water connection is 1.75" instead of the normal 2" which is OK since the lower radiator inlet is 1.75" as well. RE: [Chevelle-list] '65 Throttle Linkage Conversion
I used a Lokar setup on my '67 with the Super Ram. The pedal itself is pretty generic and I used the 'spoon' type (#SPO-6070) http://www.lokar.com/images/smallthumbnails/smspoongas_pedal.jpg. The cable is a 36" unit for a tuned port (#TC-1000TP36) that was cut to length. I might have gotten away with the 24" unit, but that stuff is easier to cut than to stretch. LOL I also used their 'tuned port bracket' (#TCB-40TP1) http://www.lokar.com/images/smallthumbnails/smtuneportbracket_hardware.jpg and after installing my 700R-4, I switched to the two stud unit, #TCB-40TP2. Check http://www.lokar.com/products.html for links to all their stuff. I have some general engine photos at http://www.dalesplace.com/htm/chevelle/the_engine.htm that show the cable setup under the hood. Dale McIntosh I've stopped 3,383 spam messages. You can too! As far as oil filters go for small block and big block Chevy's, the Fram PH 30 (1/2 QT) is the shortest, The PH 13 (1 Qt) is the standard long one and the PH373 is longest.(2 Qt version). hope this clears it up Ken

RE: [Chevelle-list] 1969 door panels & headliner
Ah, now your message makes perfect sense to me. Thanks for the idea about spraying the glue on the back edge of the sail panel boards. I donât know of any clips on the market for attaching sail panel boards. There is a metal ridge there that the board sits into pretty naturally. I show windlaces available for 1968-72 Chevelle/EC front, Chevelle rear, and EC rear, but no clips. It would be great if you would measure that metal piece for the door panel. I think I am going to have to start by lining it up though, and seeing where the lock knob needs to come through, and stuff like that. RE: [Chevelle-list] Speedometer/Demon tuning problem
I've had the same thing happen with my Holley 750. I think the problem is either 1) fuel splashing out the secondary's vent hole and into the venturi, effectively flooding the engine with unmetered fuel or 2) under the hard braking, the primary jets are being uncovered by the fuel moving forward in the bowl and stalling the engine. A vent tube that connects the vent from the primary bowl vent to the secondary bowl vent (forming an 'arch' ) with a hole cut in the top of the tube might solve problem #1 and I've seen this on racecars before. -Dave -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]On Behalf Of CutterSent: Sunday, March 21, 2004 11:59 PMTo: The Chevelle Mailing ListSubject: [Chevelle-list] Speedometer/Demon tuning problem The one problem I had when I converted from the T350 to the Muncie was the speedo stopped working.
