You would need to reomove the wheel spindles, but with the right tools its not tooo bad a job. Make sure that the "kit" includes all you will need, master cylinder- booster??, lines, proportioning valve , etc. Another easy swap that would cost more is to get an aftermarket kit that bolts on to your stock spindles. Re: [Chevelle-list] New member
Welcome to the List,Hans. Glad to have another Elky lover aboard. Looks like you have your work cut out for you but it's a good start, nonetheless. If I might make a suggestion, forget about a fiberglass front end and stick with steel. Glass front ends aren't really good for anything but racecars,IMO. As for your drop-spindle and spring question,a 2"drop is quite a bit so I probably wouldn't go with more than a 1" drop spring. [Chevelle-list] all the moldings from a 69 El Camino Custom (used)
I have all the old moldings from my 69 El Camino Custom. None of them are pristine (or they wouldn't have been replaced), but if anybody wants them, let me know. these are mainly the eyebrows, header panel moldings, side body moldings, bed/tailgate moldings, plus probably some other stuff lurking in the basement. Free if you can pick them up (Brooklyn, NY). Best offer + shipping if they have to be shipped. The original grill & extensions were trashed, so I don't have those. I should have the headlight bezels & probably the buckets. I have the tail bezels & lenses too, but I could sell those on the evil auction site. I also have what was advertised as a NOS 350 marker bezel (not used but some shelf-wear). Could be polished up. Anyway, a bunch of used stuff from a 69 El Camino Custom. Contact me privately if interested. Thanks, John Nasta

Re: [Chevelle-list] firewall insulation pad
The fire wall pad ( insulation) can be a PITA to do, with your heater box out of the way, it;it's just fitting around the steering column and pedal brace, emergency brake bracket, fuse box. it helps if the dash gauge /radio is pulled, for more room behind that area, the next challenge is the push through plastic fasteners.. I cut the end off an old stubby screw driver , to fit inside the plastic depth , and used it with a mallet like a driver/dowel. that with a liberal coating of spray silicone achieved there insertion... - Original Message - From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, July 07, 2004 5:49 PM Subject: [Chevelle-list] firewall insulation pad > Has anyone replaced the firewall insulation pad on a 64-67? > I'm just wondering what has to be removed. > Trying not to make a bigger project out of getting this 64 4 door on the road. > But the heater box is out already so it might be a good idea to do it now. > > > Pete Geurds > Douglassville, PA > >

Re: [Chevelle-list] It goed, then stopped - now it goes again (I think)
That was probably it. According to MAD web page, the entire system depends upon this section of wire from battery to horn relay and chevrolet designed to to produce a specific amount of voltage drop. If this was loose or not connected at all everything shuts down. And raising the hood up could have jiggles the wires back together. mike --- [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > From: "Scott Somers" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > I'm not sure if this was THE problem, but it was a > problem.
