Re: [Chevelle-list] Off Subject But Car Related

2007-11-12 Thread Devin
I’ll add to the off subject list. I went out yesterday afternoon and made
some corners wayyy too fast in the 63 Corvair ( Nader lied, they handle
great) then came home and fired off the camino for the first time since
April. Fiddled with the timing some and got frustrated, so I went to
installing the new carpet I’ve had sitting here waiting patiently for about
8 years. All in good time ya know….

Awhile back I posted that my wife is retiring soon and did remark as how a
retired grandma looked good in a Cadillac. So I immediately began looking
for a 1959 Cadillac project. Scored one last night on Ebay and got it for
less than I was willing to spend, good thing it is only about a 25 mile trip
to load it on the trailer and back to my shop. Exactly what I was looking
for, 62 Series, 4 door, pb pw a/c ps, has some rust issues in the normal
places on these cars but is complete, just needs to be a frame off job done.
Anyway I know it isn't what we all thrive on, but I've done a 72 El Camino
and a 72 Monte Carlo so time for something different. Well, other then the
1944 B B Farmall I'm currently restoring and the 1968 Montgomery Ward's
250cc Touring Motorcycle which is finished and being ridden.

Just wanted to put something out to read as it is really slow.

Dunno about any specific one, but if you like hearses, check out

They have classifieds as well with about 20 hearses and sometimes
ambulances.

2007-11-12 Thread Michael Pell

Speaking of old hearses

When I was in Little League (some 30 years ago), my Dad had acquired a
early 60s or so Caddy Hearse. As I recall, he traded a stack of
Playboys about 4' tall. This became his "beer run" machine, as they (the
Jaycees) could put a lot of cases in there.

For an away Little Leage game, he cleaned out the old hearse, and we
used it to drive the entire team to the away game. And he let us take
shoe polish over the entire car! it was a hoot!

And if memory serves, he traded it off for a shotgun.
