Mine was real easy to build.  And would be much easier with a welder.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

take care,

I have a couple of questions, first does the chrome
around the front windshield  come off like the rear. I was told it is
set in the sealer, but I seem to remember that it is attached the same
as the rear  with clips.

Second, I think has been answered before but I didn't

make a rotisserie.

The latest is their ESCTA V700 that’s
suppose to be lighter.  Little different tread design and they claim it can
also be mounted ‘inside-out’ to extend tire life.  The Victoracer
is still listed under the Competition link but isn’t mentioned in the ‘select
a tire size’ area...only the Escta.

Their website actually lists two models of 335/35/17 tires and they measure one
at 26” diameter and the newer model at 26.2”.  What the
speedometer indicates is immaterial since the actual speed is calculated by
engine RPM, tire size, and rear gear ratio – assuming your tires are
correctly inflated, don’t ‘grow’ at 100+ mph and your
tachometer is dead-on to the exact RPM (not a likely event either), and
there’s no slippage in the drive train.

And it depends on which formula you use
I suppose.  Two I’ve found are:

1. (rpm x tire dia) / (gear ratio * 336)
and at 6000 RPM * 26.0” tire (156,000) divided by 4.11 x 336 (138.96)
yields 112.9649.

2. (tire dia x rpm x rear gear) /
.002975 and that one yields 112.9197.

Substituting a 26.2” tire for a 26”
tire gives 113.8339 and 113.7883 respectively.  Depending on how the
online calculator rounds the result…Suffice to say it’s faster than
you’re allowed to go on most U.S. highways.

I like
those numbers :o)
my car
will have the same trans, the same cogs and nearly the same tires.AUTOBAHN
here I come!

one
thing
6000
is 50% more than 4000, 50% more than 70mph is 105mph so one of you
two are lying ! :o)

using
the calculation on the measurements only (not the actual diameter of the tire) a
335/35/17 should be 26,23"
with
4,11 and 1:1 in the trans should put you at the following
speeds
4K
rpm = 76mph
5K rpm
= 95mph
6K rpm
= 114mph

to see
70mph at 4k rpm you rear tires should be around 24"

this
is not get back on the list and start right away being a pain in the axx,
its just to let you know that maybe your speedo might be a tad
off.
Have
FunAndré

  Hi Ryan,

Even more important than the gear ratio is engine RPM at a given
speed.  60 MPH is popular because it is also Revolutions Per Mile.

My 1965 Malibu SS with 14" wheels, Powerglide and 3.31:1 gears (it's
an A/C car) turns about 3000 RPM at 60 MPH.  Much more desirable for use
on the highway would be 1800 to 2200 RPM at 60.

1)   I was wondering what ring and
pinion gears you guys are using?  I am looking for mostly cruising but
the occasional run isnt out of the question.  What would you guys
suggest?

it has a engine or tranny but I havent looked at it real close yet.

You mean your rear wheels are 15" diameter. What
diameter are the tires?
If it were my car,I probably wouldn't run anything
lower than a 3.55 cog with a TH400.

I will be running a th400 for the time being but
I REALLY hope in the near future to swith over to a Muncie.  So...I would
like to run gears that will work with both so I dont have to change
anything.  The rear tires are 15" diameter.  Looking for "good" gas
mileage but also decent performance when the time comes.  Thanks to all
  for your thoughts...

What transmission will you be running? What
diameter rear tire?
I'm running 4.11 cogs with my car's Viper 6spd and
a 26" rear tire. That's probably too much gear for a non-od trans'd street
car.

The 69 Impala is not on ebay.  It is actually
a buddy of mines Dad car that has been sitting for a while now.  He
told me he would finally sell it to me.  Now that I have my Chevelle I dont
know what all I would do with it.  If I do get it I would probably let it
go really cheap.  I will keep you  posted

You have the answer to lube job.
\Trap speed? The trap is a predetermined distance between to sets of timing
lights that when a vehicle travels from the first lights to the second set
of lights it can be timed and calculate the speed the vehicle was going.
these are set at several points down the drag strip. 0-60 feet/330ft/660ft
and 1320ft.
