hehe, you're doing a fine job of representing your party. Your
fellow democrats must be quite proud..
As for our hobby content, bear in mind that John Kerry is the farthest
of the left-wing politicians there is. Farther left than even Al
Gore and Clinton. And remember Al Gore's feelings about hugging trees?
old cars? Look at the voting records of your hero Democrats.
It's certainly nothing like they are telling you on TV. Facts speak
the truth.
Why is there a shortage of flu vaccinations (more importantly, why do
we rely on foriegn producer(s))? Look at the history.
John Edwards is involved. Hillary Clinton is involved. Surprised?
Why are Germany and France now asking for our help in Iran? Because
the UN is failing again. They won't stand behind their word, and
Iran knows it.
Why did Germany and France oppose us going to Iraq? Because
Saddam owes them billions. Look it up.
Hehe! Here's a good one. The democrats accused Bush of
causing the hurricanes to come to Florida. Too funny! I'll
bet Jim believed this one too.
And for the draft, guess who proposed the draft this time around?
Yes, 2 democrats. Nice. Who repeatedly brings it up and blames
Bush? Again the democrats. Why? Because fear and doubt
is the basis of their campaign. They are targeting the people who
aren't educated enough (or too lazy) to look at the facts to see who actually
did what.
Kerry's going to fix all the world's problems to the cost of trillions.
Who's going to pay for it? You and I.
Haiti has no natural resources, nothing anybody can take home as a
'war prize'. So why did Bush send in troops if his only goal is to
gain something in return?
And no, I don't think the Bush administration is perfect either.
It's my opinion at 90%+ of all politicians are corrupt. Some worse
than others. So, we're all screwed to some extent. Yes,
there's a 3rd choice. And that's a guranteed losing bet.
I approached the Kerry-Edwards option with an open mind. I did
some research. And I've made my decision based upon my beliefs compared
with the facts that are available. And researching Kerry is tough,
because you have to compare notes from across the years. He
changes his mind frequently, based upon what he can gain on that day.
Sure, it's fine to change your mind when you've decided you are wrong (that's
a good thing of course). But Kerry changes his mind, then changes
back, then changes again, then back (verbally). But when you look
at his voting history, you can see he's actually quite consistent over
the years (but not in the way he's telling you on TV).
My point is to read up on the facts, and not the "facts" presented by
the news media.
Once you know all the facts (well of course not 'all' facts are available),
you can then made your own educated decision.
Then vote per your decision. That's the bottom line. That's
one of the many beauties of this country. And it's a beauty I'd wish
upon any country.

hey john i wish would keep opinion to yourself and
 file this under bull
 shit,
because that's what it is bull, bush is a drunk a
 war monger and a greedy
oil miser, this man should be tar and feathered
 right out of the white

Kerry fought for this nation when bush sat on his
 drunk ass and would not
 bother
to show up for the guards, his daddy save his

 bin laden did, in the
 name of
what i don't know, more then likely its the oil,
 he couldn't drill the in
Alaska so he went and made up all this bullshit,
just so he could steal the
Iraq's people oil, if you would read between the
 lines and see what is
 really
going on then you would not waste my time
 responding to this letter, if
 bush
steal this election like he did before this nation
 will be crushed by our
 enemies,
there only one reason why we haven't been attack,
 because they seen how the
country rally behind bush, after the last hit and
 they don't want bush in
 the
white anymore then i do, bush let the entire bin
 laden family fly home
 after
the 911 hit, when there wasn't a plane in the sky
 that family had
 permission
from bush to leave without being question one bit
 that alone proves he is
 in bed
with the Saudi family, and by the way 19 of the
 hijackers where from Saudi
Arabia, IM tired of typing, I can bash bush all
 night but this is hardly
 the
place, so sorry to all the other people who gets
 this list, and to you

You're willing to get into another Viet Nam in the Middle East, as
long as the gvmt keeps your son from marrying another man?

If you think there's a problem with your son, I'd say it's a matter

If our reason for being in Iraq is not to find weapons of mass
destruction, or find the ones responsible for 9-11, and of course
not to get control of the oil fields, but to introduce democracy to
Iraq, how is that different from the Chinese wanting to bring
Communism to South Korea in 1950, or the Russians wanting to do the
same in Cuba?

Funny how before we went into Iraq, everyone was saying Saddam would nuke
our troops or fire chemical weapons at them. Oh the doomsayers. Now, when
apparently no WMD have been unearthed, Bush is a jerk. I imagine Bush the
elder was a jerk for waiting until Saddam invaded Kuwait too.

A lot of UN officials and UN member countries were getting rich off the
*sanctions* on Iraq due to black market and kickbacks.

I'm not enthused with the war, I don't think anybody in their right mind is.
After bringing down troop levels AGAIN after the Gulf War and with no peace
strategy, it's been a mess.

Received this the other day from my new daughter-in-law:

A speech that should be delivered
WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR GEORGE W. BUSH OR JOHN KERRY
GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans:
As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed. Since
congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in
Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces
from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin
the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which
have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The
United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the
countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's
nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of
both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those
nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved
during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraq
war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world
Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money
toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home.

On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Fool with us and we will
hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the
earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or may be
China.

To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yo, boys. Work out a peace deal
now. Just note that Camp David is closed. Maybe all of you can go to Russia
for negotiations. They have some great palaces there. Big tables, too. I am
ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France,
Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring
from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN
diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking
tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and
crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps
have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or
watch your precious Benzes, Bimmers, and limos be turned over to some of the
finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to
be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not making
us mad for a change. Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire
corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple
extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to
put em? Yep, border security.

So start doing something with your oil. Oh, by the way, the United States is
abrogating the NAFTA treaty ---starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens.
Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, darn-tootin.

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world
has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet.
It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate
homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from
America.

To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we
won't forget.

God bless America.
Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English,
thank a soldier. MAKES YOU JUST WANT TO STAND UP AND CHEER!!!

[Chevelle-list] Election determines fate of nation

2004-10-22 Thread John
Title: Message

I came across this
article.

"Election determines fate of nation"

"In that this will be my last column before the presidential election, there
will be no sarcasm, no attempts at witty repartee. The topic is too serious, and
the stakes are too high.
This November we will vote in the only election during our lifetime that will
truly matter. Because America is at a once-in-a-generation crossroads, more than
an election hangs in the balance. Down one path lies retreat, abdication and a
reign of ambivalence. Down the other lies a nation that is aware of its past and
accepts the daunting obligation its future demands.
If we choose poorly, the consequences will echo through the next 50 years of
history. If we, in a spasm of frustration, turn out the current occupant of the
White House, the message to the world and ourselves will be two-fold.
First, we will reject the notion that America can do big things.
Once a nation that tamed a frontier, stood down the Nazis and stood upon the
moon, we will announce to the world that bringing democracy to the Middle East
is too big of a task for us. But more significantly, we will signal to future
presidents that as voters, we are unwilling to tackle difficult challenges,
preferring caution to boldness, embracing the mediocrity that has characterized
other civilizations. The defeat of President Bush will send a chilling message
to future presidents who may need to make difficult, yet unpopular decisions.
America has always been a nation that rises to the demands of history regardless
of the costs or appeal. If we turn away from that legacy, we turn away from who
we are.
Second, we inform every terrorist organization on the globe that the lesson
of Somalia was well learned. In Somalia we showed terrorists that you don't need
to defeat America on the battlefield when you can defeat them in the newsroom.
They learned that a wounded America can become a defeated America.
Twenty-four-hour news stations and daily tracing polls will do the heavy
lifting, turning a cut into a fatal blow. Except that Iraq is Somalia times 10.
The election of John Kerry will serve notice to every terrorist in every cave
that the soft underbelly of American power is the timidity of American voters.
Terrorists will know that a steady stream of grizzly photos for CNN is all you
need to break the will of the American people. Our own self-doubt will take it
from there. Bin Laden will recognize that he can topple any American
administration without setting foot on the homeland.
It is said that America's W.W.II generation is its 'greatest generation'. But
my greatest fear is that it will become known as America's 'last generation.'
Born in the bleakness of the Great Depression and hardened in the fire of WW II,
they may be the last American generation that understands the meaning of duty,
honor and sacrifice. It is difficult to admit, but I know these terms are spoken
with only hollow detachment by many (but not all) in my generation. Too many
citizens today mistake 'living in America' as 'being an American.' But America
has always been more of an idea than a place. When you sign on, you do more than
buy real estate. You accept a set of values and responsibilities.
This November, my generation, which has been absent too long, must grasp the
obligation that comes with being an American, or fade into the oblivion they may
deserve.
I believe that 100 years from now historians will look back at the election
of 2004 and see it as the decisive election of our century. Depending on the
outcome, they will describe it as the moment America joined the ranks of
ordinary nations; or they will describe it as the moment the prodigal sons and
daughters of the greatest generation accepted their burden as caretakers of the
City on the Hill."
