The '66 radio has a metal bracket that attaches to the dash and the radio case. This is to prevent the radio from bouncing around and it also serves as the ground. A yellow wire to the radio supplies the power. Jason, facing the radio on the right hand side, to the back, should be a terminal/lug type affair with a screw attched to the case, this is for the ground. If I were you I would bench test the radio befor you install it. use a 12v power supply/battery/battery charger, and an old speaker, but bottom line is you can ground directly to the radio case to the dash. You have to have a ground. I can't remember where they hooked up, but I do remember there was 2 wires for the speaker. I would try one to the case and see if the light lights up.
