RE: 640-605 BCRAN Beta PASSED!! [7:45777]
Can some one point out the differences between the 640-60x and 640-50x (CCNP) exams. 1- Are there any additions to objectives? 2- Do the new exams require understanding in any additional concepts? Will we be able to use the old books to prepare for the new exams Regards, Ather -Original Message- From: Creighton Bill-BCREIGH1 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wed, June 05, 2002 2:03 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: 640-605 BCRAN Beta PASSED!! [7:45777] I'd like to thank EVERYONE in this group. Very difficult exam! but I somehow feel prouder having passed this monster instead of the current 640-505.The scenarios and ideas presented here are better than anything seen in a lab and more diverse than anything seen in my workplace. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this will count toward the existing CCNP track if my other exams are the current standard (640-50x) in which case I'M DONE!!! Finally, if I am in fact done, can anyone tell me if it's more advantageous to go after CCDA/P or just chase the CCIE written (before the new version of that exam is introduced). eBGP vs. iBGP (confused; requesting clarification) [7:51557]
Hello group, Interior Gateway Protocols (IGP) are used to exchange routing information with routers in the same autonomous system. Examples are OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, RIP (right ?). Exterior Gateway Protocols (EGP) are used to communicate between ASes. Example will be BGP (right ?). The reason I am confused is because of iBGP, eBGP and also external EIGRP. Now I am quoting from Sybex "The internal Border Gateway Protocols used by routers that all belong to the same AS. So where does iBGP fits in. Is it an IGP or EGP? Similarly what is external EIGRP? Even an important question will be; in real life where would one like to use iBGP Could some body point me to an online resource for BGP that is easy to follow. I am having hard time understanding chapters 8 and 9 in Sybex Routing Study Guide. Kindest Regards, Ather Iqbal --- . RE: Router Sims [7:52439]
I am using Router Sim for my CCNP studies. The Simulator from Sybex is exactly the same as the one from Router Sim. The reason one will see a difference in their prices is because Router Sim will give you upgrades. I had this confirmed from their sales rep (six months ago) Thoughts? I was able to complete all my routing lab exercises on the simulator but the commands covered in the book or the exam are much more. Many commands that I wanted to try and practice were not there. I guess I got what I paid for. Ather Iqbal -Original Message- From: Robert L. I need something for CCNP practice and don't have resources for building a lab or or getting rack time elsewhere. I looked at the Boson sim. It looks pretty cool, but the demo doesn't allow config mode so you just look in the window. ---Thanks . RE: simulations questions [7:53662]
I took two so far i.e. 640-603 and 640-604 I got only one simulation question in routing exam and none in switching. The simulation question was basic but the thing that got me was the simulation interface. It took me some time to get the feel of it. If any body is interested they can go to Cisco certification web site to get the feel of new exam format in addition to the one shown in the beginning of exam. ||-Original Message- ||From: Paulo Roque [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] ||Sent: Fri, September 20, 2002 2:46 AM ||To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ||Subject: simulations questions [7:53662] || || ||How many simulation questions are there in the exams 640-60X ? ||Are they (simalation questions) always present ? || || ||-- --- .
