Token Ring help needed
Hi, I sent an email last saturday asking for how to make the TR interface be up/up. I connect my token ring interface to MAU with just a straight through cable (and I am NOT connected to the Ring In or Ring Out) The MAU is IBDN (NORDX/CDT). that is all I can find about the MAU info. It is a silver color box, about 22cm by 25cm and is 3cm high. There are 8 slots plus RI and RO. Is anyone using the same one? Aren't the 5th and 6th entries already covered in the 2nd entry? My answer key only have four static routes. and the second and third one have some errors. 2) Troubleshooting problem #2: the answer lists the second entry of RTC as an error. Is it really? Doesn't RTB also need a listing for the "208" network? I find the answer key to be ok here.
Re: Multiple default gateways, same result?
If you specify the next hop IP address, then the static route would have admin distance = 1 (so the "1" at the end of your config is redundant) If you specify the out-going interface, then it would show up as connected in routing table. There is no point to put the "ip route 10.48.2.0 255.255.255.0 ethernet0" because it is also redundant. > I would like to assign the default gateway for the remote router as > follows: > > ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 serial0.1 1 > > I was wondering how this differs from using: > > ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.201.0.74 1 > > In addition, what advantage/disadvantages might I reap if I also configure > the 'remote' with the following line: > > ip route 10.48.2.0 255.255.255.0 ethernet0 **NOTE: New CCNA/CCDA List has been formed. Routing Table
How does the Routing table being organized? Using the same network diagram but with different set of routers, the order of the routing table changes. Is there a particular way to order the "show ip route" routing table? (For example, for "show ip bgp", the bgp table is ordered from small network number to large network number) As far as I know, the same router would have the same order of listing each time. And the default route (0.0.0.0/0) always list lasted. But how about the rest of the routing table? CCO
I just want to confirm that spending time with the Cisco CD is the most important thing in pursuing for CCIE. (I know that in the Lab exam, I will be given a Cisco CD) Would that be more important than reading books (e.g. Doyles, Caslow, BGP)? I am not saying that I will not spend time in reading books and doing more hands on. I just want to plan the time wisely as I just started on my CCIE track Thanks Hubert ___ UPDATED Posting Guidelines: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/guide.html FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
